Kay meets Neil at the club - them along with Jack, Victor and Mike is sure to set tongues wagging. McCall's takeover is making headlines - but Neil assures that Kay has more tricks up her sleeve. Kay appreciates Neil's loyalty - and as he walks off to take a call, Cane comes to offer support - vowing to get McCall for 'taking' her. You DON'T deserve this and it's NOT God's punishment for abandoning Tucker as a baby. When Neil reports that Tucker's arranged a meeting of all CI department heads, Kay's not sure Victor and Jack can beat him (as Tucker's always two steps ahead).
Both in robes, Jill admires nuTucker's view - of the Chancellor building. Jill IS a bit down - Kay didn't give her a chance - just assumed she betrayed her. Nikki whispering in her ear doesn't help. Sympathetic and supportive, Tucker feels she deserves better. Jill suggests they get to the meeting (wondering what it's about). More surprises? Nothin' to worry about, Tucker assures 'darlin''.
Home after a night in which he only caught a brief nap at his desk, Mike unbuttons then removes his shirt. Shower, coffee and a change of clothes and he'll be a new man. Lauren has something important to discuss - and as Mike strips off his pants, Daisy comes out - oops sorry, she covers her eyes. What's SHE doing here - in her pajamas? Mike crosses his arms over his brawny chest to ask.
At NE, Victor's not to be disturbed. What's Adam doing there? He's delivering a thank you gift to Dana (his intern). Victor mentions him working for Tucker - watch your ass son.
At the ranch, Jack ends a call with Neil - then declines Sharon's offer of coffee. Ashley ends her call to report that Jabot's employees are freaking out. Oh great. Faith bleats in her bassinet - seems she's been fussing for a few hours. Ashley hands her over when Sharon offers to take her out for a few hours - you're so good with her (but Ashley looks unsettled).
Kevin tells Jana that he has to leave CL's - to attend Tucker's meeting (representing the IT department). What if he fires me? Jana doubts that - Kev's fantastic at his job. Donning his coat, Kevin's not sure he WANTS to stay (and betray Kay, the woman who always believed in him - like he did Ryder). Pausing to wonder what Ryder's up to, Kevin doesn't know where he's staying - or working. Perhaps he left town - I may never see him again.
Mike scolds Lauren for offering his sister's room to a stranger without consulting him. Will they adopt ALL Fenmore's employees? First Amber - now Daisy (who's eavesdropping). Eden? She's FAMILY, Mike reminds. And when Daisy runs out, Lauren reprimands Mike. Not eager to have Eden come home, Lauren shows him the scrapbook - all about her past with Sheila - and check out this pet store receipt - dated the night of the Romalotti wedding. Not convinced, Mike puts it aside until they can call Eden - promising his full attention when he gets back. Disgruntled that it's not top priority, Lauren turns away from his kiss - and on either side of the front door, both Baldwin's are fuming. Watching Mike storm onto the elevator, Daisy calls Ryder at the boutique - she needs him to leave something on his way out.
At the club, Cane reports (as per Jill's call) that Tucker wants him to sit in on the meeting. Kay moans of having insufficient time to plan - and is still furious that Jill was plotting with Tucker the whole time (in bed). Cane's stunned - Jill looked him in the eye and denied it. But yes - it DOES explain a lot, he nods.
Ashley sends Jack off to his meeting with Victor - good luck - and behave. Jack will - for Katherine's sake. 'He's a man on a mission', Adam comments as he backs out of Jack's way. Thinking this could be a good thing for Jabot, Adam announces that he made an important decision today - one that will effect her and Sharon. Meanwhile, on the CL's patio, Sharon chatters to Faith in her lap - Noah loved his pacifier too. Ashley's such a lucky Mom to have you.
Jana fixes Kevin's tie - reassuring that Ryder can take care of himself. Gorgeous, she proclaims - now, focus on the meeting. Leaving the decision strictly to Kevin, Jana will support him either way. And after exchanging 'I love you's', Kevin's ordered to go impress Tucker - and forget Ryder.
At the club, Victor gives Kay some reassurance - then coolly acknowledges Neil. And as Kay greets Jack, Mike tells Victor that legally, there's nothing stopping him from moving back into the ranch. Ashley can live with him - or move out. Jack comes along - lovely day to block a hostile takeover, he and Victor agree. But his smile vanishes after taking a call from Billy (Who told you that? It IS interesting). No - nothing for Kay to be concerned about - and for HER, Jack would cooperate with the devil himself. When he tosses in John and Colleen's name, Kay can only now understand what it's really like having the family company in the hands of others. The powerful group then gathers - let's get started.
Ready to leave for the meeting, Jill's still nervous about being blind sided at the meeting. Tucker's unwilling to tip his hand - but, promises she won't get hurt (though Jill feels she already has been). Cane comes knocking - to confront Jill (on why she didn't admit she was sleeping with Tucker).
Hearing that Adam quit, Ashley thinks he'll do great things 'on his own' - and once Victor calms down, he'll respect him for it. And as Adam stuns Ashley with the news that he now works for Tucker, Sharon saunters in with Faith. Arms folded, a frowning Adam wonders what SHE was doing out with the baby. Shhh - she's sleeping, Sharon puts Faith in the bassinet (as Ashley explains that Sharon offered to babysit). Adam apologizes - he just worries about the flu and stuff. And now the subject is Tucker - and his plans for Jabot. He didn't tell you ANYTHING? Ashley nods - smiling but suspicious.
Tucker gives Cane a pointed stare - then kissing Jill - goes to make some calls. Jill squirms for a moment - then blames Kay for telling Cane. She assumed YOU told me, Cane's clearly unimpressed. Jill WOULD have told him - then again talks about Kay (not letting her explain). Explain, Cane gets a replay of how Jill and Tucker hooked up. She did NOT know he was Kay's son - or about the takeover. WHY is she still with him? Forget that Tucker's Kay's son - he's one of the world's most brilliant entrepreneurs - he wants to take CI (and Jill) to new heights. What fool would walk away from that? Cane's one questions gets Jill blinking in confusion - Is this a business decision or is she in love with the man?
Victor, Mike and Jack work together as they look for skeletons - and toss out ideas (like buying Tucker's smaller holdings as a distraction). Yes - Jack and Victor can work together. Seated beside Neil, Kay explains that it's not just a takeover - Tucker wants revenge against her. Victor hopes Kay's guilt won't make her soft. You're a fighter, he reminds.
At the boutique, Lauren's headache intensifies. I can't get rid of it, she whines to Daisy - then shows her a sleeping bag she found in the back room. Yes, Daisy does know something about it - she's been staying in the back room. Why? The kids have been making fun of her for being poor - the boys say she's only good for one thing. No! Don't call the school - they already treat me horribly, Daisy wails. Overcome with sympathy, Lauren's so sorry - no matter what Mike says, Daisy's staying.
Mike doesn't want to overstep - but Kay needn't feel guilty - times were different then - adoption (for a child out of wedlock) was a good option - Tucker was adopted to a good home. Victor claims that Tucker's declared war on ALL of them - it can't get too down n' dirty for HIM (or Jack either, he assumes). Jack agrees - they'll beat Tucker at his own game. Kay's so grateful for their support - high road be damned - if Tucker wants a fight, he'll get one.
Who said anything about 'love'? Jill balks. Oh please - Cane saw the looks (and touches) between them. This is business, Jill snaps - she's been separating the two all her life - with John - with Kay. From her perspective (as Kay's pseudo daughter), Jill's devastated - but from a business standpoint, she thinks it incredible (for the two of them). Cane sure hopes so. Asking to be blunt with Tucker, Cane doesn't like the way he does business - but he trusts Jill's instincts - so, he thinks they CAN work together. Tucker understands Cane's distrust - but WILL change his mind. Let's go. Hanging behind, Cane takes a call from Kay. It went exactly as you said it would - I'm in.
Adam explains to the disapproving Ashley that he quit NE - can't work for Jabot (cause Jack hates his guts) - CI is the only option in town. Does Tucker know we're close? Adam asks Ashley to trust him. Not answering, Ashley has to tend to Faith - leaving Sharon to defend Ashley (who just needs 'time'). No - they shouldn't move.
Now in Victor's office, Mike thinks the meeting went well - him and Jack working together - who knew? We're ALL doing it for Kay. Victor doesn't want to move into the ranch - it'll be uncomfortable for Nikki. He'll move back when it's HIS. Mike bows out when Jack arrives - leaving Jack to wonder why Victor didn't tell everyone that his son's working for McCall.
Adam tries to convince Sharon to move - but she feels at home there. Why is he constantly pushing to get them out - almost like he wants to get HER out (as he was fine living there with just Ashley).
Outside the patio, Jana's stunned to find the hooded bum rooting through the garbage is none other than Ryder.
In Jabot's office, Kevin approaches Kay and Neil - what's this meeting about? And when Cane joins them, Kay rants about that female Benedict Arnold being in bed with Tucker. Speak of the devil (all hush up when Jill arrives). And when Kevin asks HER for info, Jill snaps that she wouldn't tell HIM if she did. Kay rests her hand on Kevin's shoulder - No, she wouldn't betray a man she's known for 5 minutes over family. Look who's talking, Jill snipes back. Tucker arrives to call the meeting to order - welcome to my first official meeting as CEO of CI. Just a few odds and ends - first - you're all fired. A silent gasp is emitted throughout the room.
Don't tell Kevin, is Ryder's only request of Jana - not wanting him to worry. You're just gonna walk away? Jana balks - call Kevin - he cares. Ryder's caused enough problems - it's best he stay away (and so he walks off).
Oh how sweet - Daisy offers to lend Lauren her great smelling shampoo. Lauren gives her a key. Her headache? No better. Mike's return sends Daisy scurrying out (leaving Lauren to say she's staying - get used to it). What did Mike DO? Lauren shouts about the binder she tried to show him - but his clients are more important than his own wife. Yes - CI is important to Kay - but when does your wife come FIRST!? She's further infuriated when Mike doesn't believe Eden responsible for terrorizing her. I'm going to the store! Lauren marches out.
When Adam updates that Victor knows he's working for Tucker, Sharon still doesn't see why they should move out. Returning for Faith's bibs, Ashley allows Sharon to feed her (while she asks Adam to stay - if they're straight with one another, him working for Tucker shouldn't matter).
How did Jack find out that Adam's working for Tucker? Billy - who wouldn't name his source. Victor confirms it - but it's irrelevant. Jack disagrees - we need to talk about Adam. Victor brings up the diary - and will deal with Jack once Kay's situation's resolved. There's the true colours of the Victor Jack knows and loves.
I said you're all fired, Tucker repeats - then cackles - I'm joking people - relax - your jobs are safe. The companies that aren't performing, however, WILL be sold off - starting with Jabot. Jill's face falls (as Neil, Kay and Cane also look stunned).
Next: Abby and Ryder are at the book store. You're underage - what are you doing? Ryder scowls (as Abby pours booze into a cup - which Ryder hands back to her). We could have FUN, she bubbles invitingly ... Seated on the sofa, Victor listens to Ashley over the baby monitor - Tucker's selling Jabot - we have no choice - we have to get Dad's company back.... I'm going to dismantle what it took you a lifetime to build, Tucker tells a stunned Kay.
My Thoughts: Jill's 'courtship days' are over? How sad for her - wonder if she still has that box of 'toys' .... Funny how Adam (at the scene of Taylor's accident) told the cops that he's 'legally blind' - but when begging Tucker for a job, he claimed his vision was 'slightly impaired' - which is it? ... It always makes me cringe to hear the rich and powerful Victor Newman say the word 'ain't' (and watching him talk with his mouth full ain't no picnic either) - almost as bad is Adam, the Harvard Grad, saying 'News travels fast - don't it' ... Go ahead, Cane tells Jill and Tucker - but who's supposed to lock Tucker's door? Is it wise of the unpopular billionaire to leave his front door open? The parade of uninvited guests indicates there's no security or concierge service whatsoever protecting the building ... Oh God - the ace up Kay's sleeve is CANE? God help em - this COULD be a long (losing) battle. And Cane vows to 'get' Tucker - get him what? Coffee? Neil claims Tucker's take over was front page news again. Again? If it's already been published, how is it news to anyone? ... Funny to hear Cane say 'he took us all in' (as those very words were used with regards to HIM - when claiming to be Jill's son - seems the 'shrewd' Chancellor family is always being 'taken in') ... A 'lovely' view of the Chancellor building? Ya know, some folks consider a lovely view to be that of the ocean - mountains - not some big old pile of bricks ... I reserve judgment on the nuTucker (though I'm betting bedroom scenes might be easier to watch ... Oh Mike - of all days for you to walk in and start stripping - Lauren could have made more effort to stop him - and Daisy really wasn't trying very hard to cover her eyes ... How nice of Adam to buy his intern a gift (usually not the top of the list for unemployed guys - but, then again, Adam was only unemployed for about 10 minutes). With only the 3 companies in town - Adam's right - by process of elimination, he HAS to work at CI ... Really Cane - you're a 'bar man' at heart - surely, you've seen the same kind of 'look' Jill and Tucker exchange - it's called lust - not love ... I knew Kevin was given a job at CI - but who knew he was the head of the IT department? Hard to believe 'Coffee Cakes' in that role (especially since he barely goes to CI) ... Did Tucker not promise Jill that there'd be no more surprises that'd hurt her? Then drops the bomb that he's selling Jabot? And gee - with the kind of hilarious joke he opened up his meeting with is it any wonder that the business world is full of what he calls 'Nervous Nelly's'? ... Not sure why Kevin's so worried about losing his job at CI - he owns a busy coffee shop - AND runs a thriving Chipmunk enterprise - complete with motivational speeches - not to mention the mugs, key chains and T-shirts ... Watch yer ass son, Victor warns Adam (which would have been a more appropriate warning when he was pursuing Rafe - or being sent off to jail) - and check out the incredibly obvious employees listening in .. Actually, the decision to have Eden stay with the Baldwin's was as much Lauren's decision as it was Mikes - she wasn't foisted on Lauren (as she now makes it sound). Why hasn't good pal PI Paul been summoned in to investigate? Wouldn't a quick trip to the pet store - with Eden's photo - rule her out as a suspect? (and how many rats did Daisy buy anyway?) ... Jana thinks Kevin's given Ryder more chances than he deserved? How many chances did THEY get - and deserve? ... Jana says Tucker didn't get to where he is by making mistakes - like firing great workers such as Kevin. Yeah - but will HE think having the infamous Silver Chipmunk in charge of the IT department is a good idea? .. Odd that Victor's only concern about moving into the ranch is NIKKI being uncomfortable - no regard for how the tension might effect Noah (who he was so concerned about yesterday). Besides, you'd think Nikki would relish the opportunity to stick it to Ashley - she could even rehire Estella ... Of course the ranch feels like home to Sharon - she lived on the property for years ... Why would a wealthy woman like Lauren want to borrow poor kid Daisy's no name shampoo? ... If Ryder's wants to 'stay away' so as not to cause more problems for Kevin - why did he pick THAT particular garbage can to rummage through for food? - go over to the club (the leftovers are probably better anyway).
