All watch on horrified as the 'scum' confronts his 'Dad' - the 'son of a bitch' who went too far. Giving Adam a slight shove, Victor orders him to step aside. Adam shoves back - and is then sent sprawling on his back by Victor's right hook. First threatening to crush Adam - like a bug, Victor's ashamed he's a Newman - so leans over to loudly disown him. Conviently, Tucker's arrived to witness it all. And as Abby gapes in shock, Billy takes candid shots of Adam (still bloodied on the floor).
On the CL's patio, Chloe's still raving about P's perfect dress (that needed no alterations). What's next? The club - for some food tasting. 'Em'? P's distracted by the latest RS cover - Billy WILL be hearing from his brother soon, she's sure. Chloe thinks the Abbott brothers much alike - though Billy's turning out to be a decent Dad. After P's surprise for Jack, Chloe thinks HE may be thinking about family too.
Neil and Devon have joined the Ashby's at CL's - Harry died? Lily's offered condolensces. But that's not the reason they were summoned over. That 'whooshing' sound is the first baby's heartbeat - and here's Baby #2. Leaving alone (to light a candle for her pal Harry) Lily holds it together - until she gets outside.

Get him the hell outta here, Nick repeats Victor's order (but quietly to Sharon - who obediently hustles Adam away). With Noah and Abby both 'feeling sick' - and Billy still snapping photos, Jack's 'entertained' - a blind man against an old man with a stitched-in heart. As Victor then tries to get at Jack, Nick cools him down - Noah and Abby are watching. And as Victor apologizes to the room - telling them to 'continue', Ashley stoops to pick up a small swatch of purple fabric (flashing back to finding a similar one at the ranch months ago). Phyllis has lost her appetite - but Nick's gonna stick around - just in case. As Billy admires the photos on his camera, Phyllis announces she's taking her food home. Sure, she'll look for a photographer (as Jack wants a portrait of him and P).
At another table at the club, Sharon dabs at Adam's face - is Victor out of his mind? Tucker comes along - you OK?- suck it up kid - we've got work to do. Call you later, he gives Sharon a quick kiss - then pauses to glare at Victor as he exits with Tucker.
Malcolm! Take-out in hand, Phyllis welcomes her old pal with a warm hug - she'll tell him about the fireworks he missed over coffee. Let's go.
Cane, Neil and Devon discuss what a wonderful man Harry was - hopefully his death's not a setback for Lily. Knowing Lily tries to be strong - for them, Cane feels she needs someone to talk to - someone she can be totally open with. Meanwhile, Lily's at the church - sobbing. Oh please can't she live to raise the babies she already loves?
Chloe's with Jack and P - as they have a selection of appetizers to critique. She reads Chance's text aloud - does she want to pick the movie or be surprised? Awwww - so sweet - she's not used to that. Standing behind her, Billy has business to discuss with Chloe. And as P wonders if Chloe will be getting married soon too, Chloe's laughing at the bar - so Victor clocked the blind guy? Billy rolls his eyes as Chloe reads another text from Chance - 'late dinner - naughty us'. Billy scoffs - since when is eating late a sin? What a bunch of 'old fogies' - what's wrong with parting - having fun? Stop complaining, Chloe replies - you're single - it's what you wanted.
Back at their table, Jack catches himself discussing business - but continues anyway, until P shoves a food sample in his mouth. Mmm - delicious. Yes - he can open his eyes now. Jack washes it down with wine - no matter how distracted he gets, P always brings him out of it. Cane's sorry to interrupt - but does anyway - elling P about Lily losing her friend. Say no more - P's off to 'the church down the road'. Cane's left to apologize to Jack - and also let him know that he's disgusted by what McCall's doing. Jack thinks it's a tricky stance - since he's working for Tucker. Yeah - but Cane has his reasons.
At a table for three, Noah uses Grandpa 'bashing Adam like that' as a reason he should go to Paris. This garbage just won't let up. Left to discuss it, both Sharon and Nick decide it's not just about Eden. Besides, Sharon's talked Walnut Grove's counsellor - they've transferred lots of kids there. Noah will be in supervised housing. Nick doesn't see any other choice - Noah should go. As Nick leaves, Sharon wonders brings up the Victor/Adam scene. Could Nick ever treat Noah like that? No way - and if Sharon wants to discuss the Victor/Adam incident, she can do so with THEM.
Ashley opens her front door - nobody here wants to talk to you. Victor marches in anyway - it's between him and Adam. Ashley begs to differ - you attacked him in a public magazine - and in a public place - disowned him in front of a full room (inlcuding his own daughter). Is this what Colleen's heart has done for him? Butt out - Victor has his reasons.
As Tucker changes clothes, he and Adam are separated by a wall Adam shares his strategy ideas for the sealed bids on Jabot. Tucker hired him because he knows Victor's moves. Coming out with a copy of RS, Tucker wonders why Victor would call him a deceiptful liar.
Ashley continues to scold Victor for being so cruel to Adam. Yeah, it's nice that Victor's allowing her and the girls to stay at the ranch - but there's no excuse for being so hateful to Adam (compared to his OTHER children). Abby brings in a delivered box - then whines about being humiliated by her parents actions. I hate both of you! Don't talk to me that way! Victor bellows. And as Abby runs off, Sharon slips in the front door to hear Ashley queston why Victor's so public with his hatred for Adam - it's so unlike him. Sharon marches in - Yeah - what's gotten into you?
At CL's, Phyllis congratulates Malcolm on his fiance - can't wait to meet her. Jack's getting married again - yup, he did just get divorced, they both chuckle. Phyllis asks if he'll take a portrait of Jack and P - as a favour. She's so glad they're still friends - after the Dru thing (with Phyllis taking partial blame for her death). Malcolm can't judge - Phyllis is one of his favourite things about GC (as is his family - and Lily). Getting a call from Neil, Malcolm has to run - something's up with Lily.
Lily's still whining to God. Will you take me too? Should I just give up? P comes to say 'no'. Yes, she heard about Harry. You must be so scared. Cane and Jack quietly slip in as P counsels Lily (who desparately wants to raise her children). P declares her a woman who knows how to live - not one ruled by fear. Lily hugs P - then Cane.
Still at the club's bar, Chloe tells Billy there's more to life than getting wasted. Billy now reads out a text - from Heather (who can't find anything on Dr Taylor - he's clean). He continues to read - 'working alone in my room, if you want more ....' More what? Booty? Chloe laughs - messing around with the ADA? Billy's not even going up there - he doesn't need another notch in his belt.
Yes, Neil summoned Malcolm - knowing Lily needs all the support she can get. Back at the Ashby's home, Malcolm's blown away by the babies heartbeats. Cane hands over a letter with no return address - it's from Harry. Lily tears up - he must have written it right before ....
Victor doesn't need to explain himself to Ashley OR Sharon - and won't retract the article - he meant every word. And now, he's off to talk to Abby. Ashley then informs Sharon that the ranch is hers - and she's welcome to stay as long as she likes. Sharon will leave it up to Adam - who may not want to after today.
Adam whines about never being treated as well as Victor's other children. His Harvard degree and Wall Street experience meant nothing. And his experience 'upstate'? Adam's not hiding anything - figured Tucker knew about his jail stint. He'll do whatever it takes to prove himself. Tucker claims Adam already has - by standing up to his old man. Adam then answers the door - to find Nick there.
Unable to read Harry's letter, Lily hands it to Cane - who reads aloud the words of encouragement (to one of the bravest people Harry ever met). He's rooting from her from above - to beat this damn disease. Angels never die. Love always, Harry.
Still at the church, Jack's touched by P's words to Lily - all he wants to hold onto now is what's most important to him - and that's his beloved P ~kiss~
So, it's true - that Tucker hired his brother - Nick wishes him good luck with that. Tucker's a busy man - try not to waste his time, Adam sneers as he strolls out - leaving Nick to discuss business. He wants to buy Jabot (to merge it with NE cosmetics). Tucker always wanted to get into the beauty business - but Jabot's too small - he wants a costmetics EMPIRE. So - he has a better idea - he hangs onto Jabot - YOU sell ME Newman Cosmetics.
Back at the Ashby's, all have nice things to say about Harry. As sad as Lily is, Harry's letter made her realize that being alive means being the best person - and the best Mom she can be - and to savour every second. If not, Harry and Colleen will come down and kick her butt.
Heather's really hot, Chloe doesn't get why Billy's not going for it. Did I hit a nerve? Chloe wonders. Nope - but cancel the sitter - Billy's gonna watch Delia tonight.
P and Jack enjoy the peace of the church. Yeah - but it's P who gives Jack peace - anywhere he is ~kiss~ Let's go home.
Congratulations on your new bundle of joy, Ashley reads the card (scoffing that her 'mother' got it there before Faith hit the 1st grade). Abby mopes in - no - she didn't talk to her Dad (who's now in the den). Abby also takes a potshot at Grandma Dina - surprised she knew Ashley HAD a baby. Abby opens the box - a purple blanket. Ashley flashes back to finding a fabric swatch - OMG - there's blood on it - did I hit someone? Could it be HER? she asks Adam. Realtime, Ashley asks Abby to look for a piece of fabric - this big - this colour. It's very important - she drags Abby off to search.
Sharon and Phyllis bump into one another, literally, at CL's. Blaming Adam for the incident with Victor, Phyllis wonders WHY he went off the deep end. Why is it any of Phyllis' business? Keep your nose out of my life - you need to back off bitch, Sharon snarls.
Want Jabot? Get in line - submit a sealed bid like everyone else. You want a bidding war between us and the Abbott's? Nick concludes. The more the merrier, Tucker smiles - for ME that is.
What are YOU doing here? Adam growls at Victor (who then steps onto the porch) - you alright? The charade is working. Everyone hates Victor's guts for what he's doing to Adam. He DID have to go that far - Tucker's sharp - he has to believe the rift is authentic. If the rough stuff's too much for Adam, Victor won't have him infiltrate Tucker's organization. No - it's OK - everything's going according to the plan - Tucker's buying it. Once CI's back in Kay's hands, Victor knows they'll have a lot of explaining to do - til then - Adam needs to keep hating his guts.

My Thoughts: If Ashley's so hell bent on finding some stupid little bit of fabric, why doesn't she ask the staff? ... In this digital age - and in a crowded room, why is Billy the only one to be snapping photos. Wouldn't YOU be getting shots with your cell phone too? Or better yet - video - for Youtube? .. Chloe knows Billy doesn't go anywhere without his camera? Odd - cause I've never seen him with one (and it sure would have come in handy on New Year's Eve) ... How would Ashley possibly notice that small piece of fabric on the floor - and who's dress did it fall off? ... Why didn't any of the club's staff (and there was at least one waiter watching) race over to put a stop to the brawl at the club's front door? THAT can't be good for business ... Note how Tucker told Adam to suck it up - then took Adam off to do some bizness (without even acknowledging or introducing himself to Sharon - who was left sitting there alone like a dummy) ... How many copies of RS does CL's need to provide it's customers? Why no other magazines? And what's to stop folks just walking onto the patio to grab em and leave? ... If Victor doesn't want Adam to call him Dad, maybe he should stop calling him 'son' (seems only fair) ... Adam's of 'worth' to someone else? Yeah - but how MUCH? Adam and Tucker never discussed what his salary would be (Cane doesn't seem too concerned with how much he'll be earning either) - is he gonna tell Mac he quits - or does he plan to be an executive by day, bartender by night (when he's not busy holding Lily's hand - and mourning a man he barely knew) Why are the Winters family so surprised to hear a cancer patient died? And yeah - I guess Harry DID write the letter before he died (cause he probaby didn't write it AFTER) ... Why is Lily playing the heartbeats in a loud coffee shop? At least they could have gone to the empty patio (cause it looks like Chloe and P had left by the time Lily exited - guess they didn't pay their bill) ... Today Chloe comments that neither Jack nor Billy learn from their mistakes - but just the other day, in the boutique, when 'vouching' for her brother in law, Chloe said the 'Patron Saint of Screw Ups' HAD learned from his mistakes ... Why does Jack need help finding a photographer? Why not use George at RS - or any one of Jabot's photographers? Or brother Billy - he's always got a camera? Or why not just go online? Or through the Yellow Pages? Why not call his former stepson, Daniel? He was Danny's official tour photographer, remember? Thank heavens Malcolm is back in town (though again the photographer talks about his fiance - but for some reasons doesn't have a single photo to show off) .. If Tucker's always wanted to 'get into beauty' why didn't he purchase Jabot any of the other times it was 'on the block'? ... If Tucker's 'as sharp as they come' why did he say Victor threw a 'left hook' when it was clearly a right? |
