Returning home, Jack greets P - then Malcolm (who's set up to take the engagement portrait). THE Malcolm Winters! Chloe sure does owe Phyllis one. All are in high spirits as Chloe poses Jack and P for their photo.
Patty has a fist full of meds - which she shoves into her mattress - then hisses about P - thought you had it all figured out huh Emily? Seducing then marrying Jack. She puts in her happy face when Paul comes to visit - and claims to be feeling great - like her old self again.
At the ranch, Ashley's reassured Abby that she's fine - but didn't go into detail about what's going on with Adam. WHY is he lying? As Abby's offered to babysit, Ashley would love to go to dinner with Neil - the subject of Adam is off topic. Neil's sure that the Abbott siblings will present the highest bid for Jabot (though Ashley's not as confident - anything could happen).
At CL's, Glo tells Jeffrey that Jabot's up for sale - Jack wants them to go in with him on his bid. Knowing Glo can't touch her money, Jeff assumes she's already made a deal using HIS. He doesn't appreciate being taken for granted - and if he wants 'in', Jeff doesn't need HER, now does he?
On the phone with Tucker, Jill declines dinner at the club - but no, it's NOT that she doesn't want to be seen in public with him. I'd LOVE to have dinner with you, she changes her mind when Kay wanders in. Jill then needles Kay about spending the evening alone - and when Kay talks of Jill sleeping with the enemy, Jill suggests she's trying to save Jabot. Kay cackles - Jill's up to her old 'tricks' - he's using you! Why on earth would Tucker hand Jabot over to Jill? Jill marches out - don't wanna keep your son waiting.
Having caught the last part of the exchange, Chance asks Kay if she's OK - want some company? Nope - Kay won't be brought down by the likes of Jill. Chance makes it clear that he doesn't approve of what Jill's doing - she's digging herself into a hole - alienating herself. Kay agrees - she's making a mistake - and will have to live with the consequences.
Going over the menu, Tucker will take Jill's advice - on the tuna. But not when it comes to Jabot, she whines. Tucker's just looking to make a quick profit - yes - get what he wants and move on. If he doesn't like the bids, he'll hang onto Jabot. No more shop talk - Tucker enjoys Jill's company - WHEN she's not trying to use their relationship to her advantage that is.
Back at CL's, Glo doubts Jack would deal with Jeffrey - plus, he wouldn't dare do this without her. When she hurls adjectives at Jeffrey, he cackles - sure she'll forgive his teasing when he makes her part owner of Jabot. But not trusting Jack, Jeff won't get a cent until it's all in writing. Glo's sure he'll agree to anything - he's desperate.
Wrapping up the shoot, Malcolm's praised by all. Chloe has to run - Billy's babysitting - she and Chance are going out. Chloe suggests P do her bridal shoot now (in case a cake fight breaks out - wedding's have a tendency to get 'crazy'). Plus, hair and make up are still upstairs.
As Paul continues his big brother routine, Patty forces herself to play along - focus - look him straight in the eye. Yes, she likes her new doctor. Smile, Patty tells herself - as she shows Paul her unfinished paper mache. If she can pull this off with Paul - who knows her better than anyone ....
Ready to leave the ranch, Ashley's on the phone with Traci - she'll call as soon as she hears about Jabot - then worries to Neil (who feels guilty). Ashley asks what Tucker's like - imagine carrying around such bitterness and resentment. Neil feels Tucker relished giving Kay the news he'd waited years to deliver.
At the club, Chloe agrees to a burger - then spotting Jill, tells Chloe to grab them a table. Marching over to Jill and Tucker's table, Chance asks her to reconsider. Tucker invites Chloe and Chance to join them - but NO - they don't want to get to know him better.
In the Abbott dining room, Malcolm's telling stories of his travels. Their laughter's interrupted by the door. Jack welcomes 'Boris and Natasha' in - then introduces P to the Bardwell's (who are stunned by her resemblance to 'that woman'). Jeff announces he's NOT in on the Jabot deal - until Jack tells them what they want to hear.
Paul admires Patty's paper mache - of course he can see it's a house. Patty gets agitated - it's not working out like she planned. It's supposed to happen by now. What is? Her house - the happily ever after house - it's so clear in her mind - it's ruined! I'm running out of time! Paul's hug calms Patty down - it's fine, it's fine, he reassures.
Back at Jack's, Glo talks of Jabot in the hands of strangers - they can make sure it doesn't happen - BUT if they help, the Bardwell's want important positions - not just nameplates on a door. Jack can't guarantee anything just yet. It'll be easier to convince Ashley once he's undone the damage GLORIA did. Jack gives his word - they'll get the positions they deserve. We'll get back to you - or not, the Bardwell's exit. What have you gotten yourself into? P tuts.
At the club, Chance is focused on Jill and Tucker's table. Chloe whines about competing for attention - let's just go. No - Chance won't let Tucker ruin his night - let's go dancing. Chloe's not in the mood anymore - and doesn't mind going home to fall asleep watching a movie (in Chance's arms). At their table, Tucker admires a man who speaks his mind - and knows Chance is just worried about Grandma keeping company with the big bad wolf. Jill admits she's been spending little time at home - so, should go home tonight. They'll touch base tomorrow - when the Jabot bids come in. Leaving Tucker with a kiss, Jill's quick greeting and hasty exit puzzle Neil and Ashley (until they spot Tucker).
On the patio, Glo works on convincing Jeff to deal with Jack - this is her last chance to get her foot in the door at Jabot - it's worth the risk. Jeff reminds that it's not her decision. Yeah, but he knows what Jabot means to Gloria, right?
Jack updates P on Gloria - who now wants to be his partner. No, he doesn't want to team up with her - but she's a necessary evil. The offer the Abbott's put together is fair - but with Glo's money added, theirs should win. Ashley won't like it, but DID give him carte blanche to make this deal happen. P reminds that Ashley has a problem with him taking over - 'blowing her off' - be prepared for her reaction, she warns.
At the club, Neil introduces Tucker to Ashley Abbott (who ignores his extended hand). Tucker brings up the fight between her ex and his son - pull up a chair. Neil declines - and Ashley just wanted to meet the man who betrayed her friend - and is throwing her family's company to the wolves. Selling Jabot's not Tucker's first choice - and he's flattered that Ashley's read all about him. Don't be - Ashley's unimpressed. Remaining polite, Tucker's impressed with HER - and is secretly rooting for her family. Hopefully, the next time they meet, it's to give Jabot back to her. Hopefully, the next time's the last time, Ashley snarls - then marches off.
Running into her bedroom, Jill shakes Kay awake - there's somebody downstairs! No - don't go down there - you'll get yourself killed! Frightened by the banging downstairs, the women huddle together. Who's there? They retreat to Kay's bedroom as the banging continues. Locking the door, Kay calls security - but oh no - the line's dead. Her arm around Kay, Jill calls on Kay's cell phone - there's an intruder in my home! she hisses with urgency.
Outside the club, Chance and Chloe's laughter abruptly ends when Chance pushes Chloe to the ground at the sound of gunfire. Oh my God, oh my God, Chloe mutters - as Chance pulls his gun out for protection.
Dusting themselves off, Chance and Chloe are now standing. What WAS that? A car backfiring - Chance thought it was a gunshot. No - it's not post traumatic stress disorder - there's more going on - like that phone call that warned he was in danger. No - he didn't report it to anyone on the force. Who can he trust?
Huddled in Kay's bed, she and Jill notice the noise has stopped. Kay's about to go grab a weapon. Mother - don't .... Mother? Kay blinks. Jill can't just turn it off and on. I'm so sorry, she apologizes. We'll get through this, Kay assures. When someone rattles the door handle, Kay shouts - the police are coming! Cue the advancing sirens - as the terrified women huddle closer - and footsteps retreat.
Holding Patty close, Paul reminisces about a house she made of popsicle sticks as a child - someone ran into it - and ruined it - you were furious. Paul remembers promising to build her a new one - and buy her an ice cream. Yes - two scoops, Patty loved being at the lake with Paulie. Fun times, he agrees. Both laugh and smile at the memories. As the voices of children playing can be heard, Paul suggests Patty remember THOSE times - she CAN be that happy again. Patty feels better now - but wishes they could go to the lake for real - wouldn't that be fun? Tearing up, Paul will visit as often as he can.
Malcolm serves Jack and P a huge sandwich - he's already delivered food to the hair and make up folks. With P off to get ready for her bridal shoot, neither she nor Jack are superstitious about him seeing her in her wedding dress. No reason to be, they laugh and hug - not a care in the world.
As Chance and Chloe return to the mausoleum, Jill and Kay are talking to a police officer. Someone broke into the house!? Yes - the power and phone lines were cut. Someone was outside your door!? The cops are searching the grounds right now. Chance grills the women - did you hear any voices? No. Relieved they're OK, Chance goes upstairs to look around. Thank God Jill woke Kay up - if she'd gone home with Tucker, she could have been murdered in her bed. Jill takes exception - feeling blamed for EVERYTHING. Why did she apologize then? To stop the batty old woman from getting her fool head shot off - that's why. Kay cackles - batty old woman - at least SHE can remember if they're mother and daughter. I can't say ANYTHING to her, Kay throws her arms up and marches off. Chance returns to Chloe - he was in my room! - took my watch! If something had happened to either one of them, he frets. Or Delia, Chloe reminds - Chance MUST talk to someone about this!
Now seated at the club, Ashley feels great about telling Tucker how she really felt - but what if he sells Jabot to someone else? Knowing it's a possibility, Ashley now REALLY wants the Abbott's to run Jabot - just like her Dad envisioned it.
Jeff makes a call to Jack - he's wiring the money into Jack's account - within the hour. Good - you won't regret it, Jack promises - then calls Tucker. He was just speaking with his sister - she seems really confident about their bid. Jack thinks he better start on the paperwork - no one's gonna top their offer - not even Newman. Tucker hasn't heard from Victor - yet. Jack looks forward to hearing from Tucker - tomorrow ~click~ Jack stops dead in his tracks - awestruck at the sight of P in her wedding dress (as Malcolm takes photos). Click - flash - cut to Patty in her cell - seething in anger, she flexes her fingers, a caged animal personified. You took everything Emily - I hate you! - I hate you! - she glares out the tiny window.
Next: You're dumping me? Jill looks stunned. I'm not big on drama darlin', Tucker sounds very casual ... I'm DR Emily Peterson, Patty extends her hand to Paul - as if introducing herself. Paul turns in disbelief to face her... There's some kinda sting going on at Trimble's. Will do, Adam says into his phone - a yellow envelope in his hand. Think he'll pull it off? Nick whispers to Victor (hiding between book shelves). He wants to please his father (is Victor's way of answering 'yes').
My Thoughts: Patty loved being at the lake with Paulie - even though he threw her in 'a hundred of times' - yeah, sounds like fun times alright. Of course the lake wasn't as much fun for Brad - or Colleen ... Wanting Tucker to accept their bid, why would Ashley risk pissing him off? Why not wait til AFTER to have her say? ... Why are Ashley ahnd Neil SO puzzled at Jill's hasty exit - since she didn't leave the club, maybe Jill had to get to the bathroom - or maybe she just doesn't feel like talking to you guys .... 'Watch who you're calling 'easy' bub', Chloe quips to Chance (like she's NOT easy) ... Could Chloe and Jack be any more excited to have THE Malcolm Winters shooting their engagement/wedding photos? Jack practically sprinted over to shake the world famous photographer's hand. But why are Jack and P posing in front of a mirror? You don't have to be a professional photographer to know that's a bad idea. And why wouldn't Ashley (Maid of Honour) have been summoned over to pose in a few shots ... P didn't KNOW that the hair and make up team are still upstairs? Like she wouldn't see them leave? Or they wouldn't bother to bid her a good night before departing? Knowing they were having a crowd over, why didn't Jack have the staff prepare sandwiches - or order in - instead of having the photographer make snacks .... Silly Neil - why WOULD Ashley talk to Abby about Adam - he's just a psychopath living under the same roof (due home anytime soon, she's off to dinner with Neil - so what if her two daughters are left home alone with the creepy Adam) ... IF Jack knew Gloria had any money? (says Jeff). I thought Jack knew exactly how much - and where Gloria had money. That's why he'd know if she withdrew any - right? ... Murphy's 'freezing his butt off ice fishing'? What? Kay hasn't stocked the mausoleum's pond with large mouth bass - and installed a heated hut for her beloved? ... Why doesn't Patty have a sheet on her padded bed? Isn't it unhygienic to not have a removable cover? Her roots don't look bad - considering she's been in a padded cell for months ... Jack will give Gloria and Jeff the positions they 'deserve'? Why wouldn't Glo enlist her lawyer son to guarantee these positions? Not sure why the freewheeling pair even WANT a real 9-5 job - it might cut into their coffee house and GCAC loitering time. Jeff's wiring money to Jack's account? When did Jack provide his banking information? ... Kay has 'security' to summon - but no alarm system to set each night? The phone and power lines were cut - yet miraculously the lights are on by the time Chance and Chloe come home .. Paul figures all Patty needs is 'time and practise' (to make her paper mache house just right) - but what else does she have - except time? ... Why doesn't the GCAC have their walkway shovelled? ... Ashley didn't read ANYTHING about Tucker that impressed her? Not even those thousands of lives he saved flying medical supplies over to the refugee camp in Darfur? And what did Tucker read about Ashley that impressed HIM so? How many times she's been widowed? Her mental break downs? Her ability to conceive with a turkey baster and stolen sperm?
