At Jabot, waiting for Tucker to arrive, a confident Jack assures the nervous Ashley that the company's theirs - no one will have outbid the Abbott's. But when Tucker arrives - he announces that's exactly what happened. Jack and Ashley's jaws drop - What!? Who!?
Pouring champagne at his office - and handing a glass to Nick, Victor would LOVE to see the look on Jack's face - when learning that HE owns Jabot. Nick's plan (using Adam) was a stoke of genius. Nick pauses to empathize with Jack - but it WILL help Kay get CI back. Huh? Victor's not gonna be Jabot's CEO? Who is?? Enter the triumphant Adam - chiding them for starting the celebration without him. Why, if it weren't for HIM, they'd have no reason to celebrate.
Meanwhile, at the ranch, Sharon orders Noah to call her - often - so she doesn't worry. Noah's the one who's worried (about what her, Nick and Adam will be up to while he's in Paris).
Adam's gloating continues - he should win an award (for best newcomer in a reality series; Who Wants To Screw Over a Billionaire). His face falls - when Victor lets it be known that the whole plan was NICK'S 'brainchild'.
What!? The case isn't high profile? Because they only stole a watch? Kay deserves more (after all she's done for the community). OK - bye, a frustrated Chance hangs up - then has no time for Chloe (with Delia). You know how I get in 'work mode'. We... could... talk ...about it, Chloe's left talking to herself. But not for long. Billy arrives - he's off to NY to meet a writer. No - HE isn't a blonde with a 'big rack'. Can Chloe run the magazine while he's gone?
Neil joins Kay at the club - talking of his 'silly' over 40 basketball league. He's already got people digging into Tucker's past - hopefully they'll turn up some shady business deals. What are you two whispering about? Jill marches over - to again be shut out by Kay (who feels her services are no longer necessary at Jabot or CI). Yes, Jill's fired - effective immediately.
Back at the mausoleum, Chloe and Billy spar good naturedly (but she's impressed with the 'new and improved' Billy Abbot). Who knew they'd be in 'such a good place'. Billy was a terrible husband - but a great father - and a 'not bad' friend. Maybe he COULD make some girl happy. But no, Delia's the only girl Billy needs in his life.
That felt SO good, Kay chuckles. Jill's furious - then reminds of how SHE whipped Jabot into shape (making it worse, for Kay, that she betrayed her - with Tucker). Yet again, Jill reminds that she was oblivious. Yeah, but you stayed with him AFTER, Neil chimes in. You've lost McCall AND me, Kay concludes - she'll always love Jill - but she'll never work for her. She's been stabbed in the back once too many times. Jill's sure that Tucker won't let her get away with this. Taking a call, Neil comes back to announce that Jabot's been sold - to ....
Victor!? Jack's stunned. What can Tucker say? Newman offered more. Ashley's livid - and doesn't accept Tucker's apology. If he really wanted the Abbott's to have Jabot, he would made sure it happened. Newman won fair and square, Tucker denies giving him the 'magic number'. He then leaves Jack to rant about being played (by Victor). In helping Kay, he let his guard down. That will NEVER happen again!
Back in Victor's office, it's explained why Adam wasn't told the plan was Nick's - they couldn't risk blowing it. Buying Jabot is more important than anyone's ego. Draining his glass of bubbly, Adam has to get going (continuing the charade, he can't be seen there). Victor sends him back to McCall - to await further instructions. Nick doesn't think telling Adam was a good idea - he resents it. I'm the one in control, Victor reminds - and he's got it all under control.
Back at the mausoleum, Kay wonders why Tucker sold Jabot to her close friend, Victor. She'll know more once she talks to that miserable excuse for a son. Neil then greets Chloe - who whines about Chance's obsession with who broke in last night. Neil hears all about the break in - how did 'he' get past security? No - it had nothing to do with McCall - someone's messing with Chance, Chloe frets that he doesn't trust the police force (and is shutting her out). As Chloe goes to check on Delia, Neil goes to the study to make some calls. Kay finds Chance reviewing forensic photos of the room (taken after the break in). Whomever broke in wasn't just after his watch - yes, he's being targeted (through his family). There MUST be something he's missing. Yes - he is - the people who love him. Let us in, Kay requests.
Nick goes to the ranch to say good bye to Noah (who knows he's been busy at NE). Noah talks of Eden being set up - Jana's looking into it (while he parties his butt off in Paris). Nick and Sharon trust Noah (and hope he has a good time) ~hug~ As Noah goes up to see Abby, Nick gripes about Sharon's new husband being too busy to say good bye to his step son.
Billy joins Adam at the club's bar - what you lookin' at? What are YOU looking at? Billy toasts Adam - thanks to HIM, RS is flying off the shelves.
'The Black Knight' joins Jack and Ashley at Jabot - he hopes to make this transition as smooth as possible. He's not there to 'rub it in' - Victor has a message - Jack has one week to pack up and get out.
Ignoring Tucker's 'this isn't a good time', Jill barges in to rant n rave about Kay firing her - can you believe it? And you're telling me because? You've gotta do something, Jill wails - then is horrified to hear Victor now owns Jabot. Never mind - surely he has a job for her at CI. No - Tucker won't get in the middle of Jill and Kay's 'petty' disputes. It ain't gonna happen darlin'.
Could you be any more callous? Ashley sneers. And reminded of their partnership to help Kay, Jack tells him to cut the crap (knowing this is payback). But HOW did Victor do it? Inside information?
Abby whines about being left behind - oh why can't she have a normal family? Call if you need to talk, Noah offers ~hug~ Downstairs, both Nick and Sharon understand why Noah wants to leave the country (though disagree on it being Adam's fault). WE'RE to blame, Sharon corrects.
Shut that big ole toothy mouth of yours, Adam warns. Billy doesn't sound too scared - 'Princess' wasn't so tough the other night (when beat up by his Dad). With his 'other exploits' now public, Billy's surprised Adam shows his face. There's a lot you don't know 'Billy Boy'. And a lot Billy DOES - and one day, he'll find out ALL Adam's dirty little secrets - and he'll lose his job - Ashley's friendship - that pretty wife of his. And Billy will be right there - writing down every sordid detail.
Chance doesn't want to add to Kay's problems - but, well - OK. He thinks the force is covering something up. First Riggs escapes - then the break in (which the police aren't investigating). He can't go to his superiors - or Internal Affairs. We're all concerned - especially Chloe, Kay encourages him to reach out for help.
Victor can't believe Jack's serious - how would he know his bid? The envelopes were sealed. How DID he do it? Just made sure his bid was the highest is all. You arrogant SOB, Jack snarls. What are you gonna do? Throw another chair? Victor taunts - then threatens to have him forcibly removed. Don't bother, Jack marches out (leaving Ashley to conclude - this isn't just about Jack - it's about me too - right?)
After Abby leaves with another hug and 'I love you', Noah's off to the airport. He'll miss his parents - who's gonna do his laundry? Listing off the many things she loves about Paris, Sharon envies Noah (who's proud of his Mom - back and stronger than ever, after going through 'hell') ~hug~
Still at the bar, Adam gets a call from an old pal from Harvard; Gavin. He now teaches at Harvard - where a hot chick came to ask questions about him (and his relationship with Dr Taylor). Red hair and a 'smokin' bod'. Phyllis, Adam mutters through his teeth.
After waving Noah off, Nick and Sharon head back inside - so Nick can apologize - he wasn't trying to pick a fight. Tearing up and distracted, Sharon's thinking of Paris (flashback to her and Nick playing tourists - the romantic kiss with the Eiffel Tower behind them). Announcing that she's going to bed early, Sharon closes the door behind Nick (who pauses outside, unseen, to watch her think).
Arms folded, Ashley points out that she didn't fight Victor on the divorce - except for the ranch. What did she do to deserve this? It's nothing to do with you, Victor assures - she's taking it too personally. After Ashley brings up Colleen's heart, Victor's parting words are a reminder that Jack has one week to get the hell out - not one minute more.
With two glasses of wine in hand, Jill's sure they can work something out. Tucker sets his aside - he's not interested. Reminding how she stood by Tucker, Jill shrugs out of the fur coat Tucker's trying to put around her shoulders. She doesn't WANT his 'appreciation' - she wants him to keep his promise (that they'll take Jabot to new heights). Tucker's said so many things it's hard to keep track. Who ARE you? Jill shakes her head (as Tucker stands with the door open - her coat in his hand). Grabbing her purse and coat, Jill exits. Don't worry - you're a strong woman - you'll land on your feet, Tucker assures before closing the door. He then goes to apologize to the young woman wearing nothing but his shirt. Less talk, more action baby, she grins. Tucker likes the sound of that ~kiss~ Meanwhile, a lonely and rejected Jill gets on the elevator.
As she's off to take Delia for a walk, Chance calls Chloe back - to apologize. Trusting her - and his family, Chance tells her and Kay that he WILL talk to someone. His safest bet? Syd Meeks (who he no longer blames for the tree lot incident). But tonight - he'd rather go for a walk with Chloe and Delia. As they leave, Chance mouths a silent thank you to Kay (who gives him a thumbs up). Neil rejoins Kay with news from the PI's he hired - Tucker managed a rock band who became superstars overnight - in fact, every band on Tucker's record label shot to the top of the charts. Question is - how do you accomplish THAT? Surely this is the key to 'fighting back'.
Tucker's lady friend is now dressed and ready to leave. A no strings kinda gal, she doesn't seem upset that she may not hear from Tucker again.
Jill's nursing her drink at the club when Billy comes along to ask what's wrong. Jill ruined her relationship with Kay - alienated everyone she loves - all for a man who used her. She's better off alone. Billy has to fly to NY - but they'll have dinner when he gets back. Jill smiles after him - then goes back to looking lonely.
Blowing into the ranch, Adam tells Sharon to pack a bag - we're going on our honeymoon! What? Now? Sharon has a few excuses not to go - his job; fear of flying; the dog. Adam has answers for everything - come on - we need this. Let's go. Never mind looking for a new place to live - it'll give Ashley time to calm down. Agreeing with a hug, Sharon doesn't see Adam's troubled look.
Jack returns to Jabot's office - oh Dad - I'm sorry. When Ashley joins him, Jack claims it ain't over - there's no way Victor's bid just happened to be higher. If he cheated, Jack WILL find out. And do what? Nail him to a wall!
In Victor's office, Nick updates that Noah left for Paris. Too bad he had to witness that fight at the club. About to leave (so Victor can make a call) Nick again asks who'll run Jabot. All in due time, Victor says - and once alone makes his call. Call me back as soon as you can. I acquired a new company - one you'd be very interested in.
Next: Kay leans across Tucker's desk - I've never been defeated - nor will I ever be ... In what could be a New York pub, Vikki grins at Billy - Hello fancy pants. Billy responds with an embarrassed chuckle ... Who's gonna be the next CEO? Jack asks. Rest assured it'll be in very capable hands, Victor answers.
My Thoughts: Jill takes credit for 'whipping Jabot into shape' - but how bad a job did she do? - it's an 'under performer'? ... What HAS Ashley done to deserve her family company being taken away? Oh - I dunno - maybe taking Victor's family HOME away? ... Aw, come on Sharon - what ARE the odds of being in TWO plane crashes? 50 billion to 1 according to Adam (makes 2 time crash victim Nick one unlucky dude) ... Why (does Nick claim that Adam's driving Noah away? Of all the various reasons Noah's listed (for going to Paris) - the man who SAVED his life was never one of them ... Sending Noah off to Paris 'can't be easy', Victor states. You'd be surprised old man - a hug and a wave - now, get in your taxi cab already - both Noah's parents are far too busy - doing important stuff - to drive him to the airport (even though Nick said he would the other day - when he drove Phyllis and Summer) ... Why is Jack so outraged and indignant at Victor's 'payback'? Didn't Jack boast - in Victor's own living room - about forging the diary that almost put the man in jail for life? - claiming to have loved every minute of it? ... When taunting Adam (the 'Princess') - even mentioning that 'pretty wife' of his - why wouldn't Billy go for the jugular - let him know that he too slept with Sharon - that his 'pretty wife', on several occasions, seemed to really enjoy - and couldn't get enough of his 'big toothy mouth' ... Knowing that Jack's absolutely furious, why would Victor give him a whole week to run rampant, and possibly sabotage Jabot? Think of the damage Jack could do - wiping out computer files - fudging sales numbers - sending out bogus memos - signing off on all sorts of stuff - changing the locks - leaving opened cans of tuna to go rancid in the air vents - the possibilities are endless ... Why would Nick gripe about Adam not saying good bye to Noah - he was so distressed over Adam being around Noah that he wanted his son to move into the tackhouse. Nick looked ill when Adam had his hand on Noah's shoulder - does he really wanna see a big good bye hug? ... Silly parents - How CAN Noah do anything stupid - he'll be thousands of miles away (I guess he's forgotten the last time he was in France - and got arrested - for doing 'something stupid') ... Why is Neil calling his boss 'sweetheart'? ... Why did the police take forensic photos of the living room? The watch was stolen from Chance's room ... 'Deep down' Kay LOVES Jill? Yeah - that was real evident when she was calling her a trashy manicurist ... Ya gotta feel sorry for Jill - fired and dumped in one day. She'd be feeling worse if she saw the woman half her age strutting around in Tucker's shirt .... Tucker appreciated Jill's 'talent' more than Kay ever did? I guess Tucker saw talents in Jill that Kay didn't - horizontal talents that is ... Who will do my laundry? Noah whines - like he's incapable of operating a washing machine - or finding a laundromat. Hopefully Eden's found a way to launder her clothes (as Lauren won't be shipping any freebie clothes over) ... Guess that pricey snowmobile was a big waste of money ... Why would Chloe assume Billy's off to meet someone with a 'big rack'? Since neither she nor Mac are exactly buxom, obviously he's not a breast man .... Hmmm - who WILL Victor make CEO of Jabot? it'd be cool if it was Traci - or could it be Vikki? Jill? Billy? Gloria? (just to piss Jack off) ....Am I missing something in the geniuses 'brainchild'? How do Nick and Victor figure that buying Jabot will get CI back in Kay's hands? How does Adam figure they 'screwed over a billionaire'? They've just admittedly paid Tucker much more than Jabot's worth - as long as the check clears, why would he give a rats ass WHO owns it? ... Adam's got a friend kind enough to give him a heads up that someone's asking questions about him - and Adam just hangs up on the guy? How old IS this guy - to rave about what a 'hot chick' Phyllis is? And if he can tell she's got a 'smokin' bod', she must have finally changed that unflattering turd coloured curtain dress ... Where is this 'security' Neil's so surprised the thief got past (when breaking into the mausoleum) - and if he's hired a team of PI's to investigate Tucker's past, why didn't he call Paul? (Has the Jo Jo fiasco - or mishandling Patty tarnished his good name?) So what if the bands on Tucker's recording label all became successful - perhaps he only signed talented artists. Oh wait - it was the 80's - there WERE no talented artists ... Ha - Jack vowing to 'never let his guard down again' will make it that much funnier when he remarries the crazy Patty (instead of her lookalike psychiatrist) ... Why can't Chance investigate the break in - it's not like he's done ANY detective work since being handed his badge and gun back at the coffee shop ... Have a great weekend dear readers! |
