At RS, Malcolm signs the contract Billy was more than happy to make changes to. Billy's a big fan of the edgy photographer with the great eye. It's official - welcome to RS, Billy stops kissing Malcolm's ass long enough to shake his hand. Enter Lily - who's taking Malcolm out to celebrate. But he nixes the club and Indigo in favour of take out - and a private word - at Lily's place.
At the club, Cane reassures Jill that Kay firing her was just a symbolic gesture - Kay knows Tucker will override it. Jill doubts that - he doesn't want to get 'involved'. I can handle Tucker on my own, Jill just her chin out. On cue, Tucker saunters over (did I hear my name?)
Just inside the club, Jana's on the phone with Noah - Daisy and Ryder are connected to this missing boy, Max. Jana can't talk to the testy Kevin about it - and has no proof. She hangs up and pastes on a smile when Ryder arrives (wondering why she was looking for him at the boarding house).
At CL's, Kevin's on the phone - reserving a private table. Returning for her books, Daisy assures Kevin that her back's fine. Oh - so Kevin's taking Jana out for dinner tonight? Isn't THAT interesting.
Jana pours it on thick - having misjudged Ryder, she wants to buy him dinner - get to know one another. Whaddaya say? Ryder shakes her extended hand - sure, he smiles (then goes to hang up his jacket).
In the potting shed, Ashley weeps in Neil's arms - upset over the the accusations against Dr Taylor (surely Adam knew). Turning to the Sabrina statue, Ashley recalls the baby's head being sent to her - and other things - first suspecting Estella - then Patty - what if it was Adam? Is it possible? He was losing his sight. Feeling sick, Ashley was warned by so MANY - but she didn't want to listen. At the very least, Adam must know more than he let on. Ashley MUST confront him.
Get a life Phyllis, Sharon sneers. But the smug Phyllis goes on - perhaps they'd like to hear what she learned about Adam's friend - dead men DO tell tales. Sharon flips - it was an accident - no scandal - go find a job! Adam did nothing wrong - he did Ashley a favour - recommending a highly regarded doctor. This highly regarded doctor was sexually harassing his patients, Phyllis drops her big ole bomb.
Back at the club's bar, Tucker claims someone's been investigating his past business dealings - know anything about that? Jill doesn't - but so what - she's sure he covered his tracks. No - Cane doesn't need to look into it for Tucker - he's curious - not concerned. As Tucker walks off, Jill assures Cane she doesn't know anything - Tucker's an unpopular person. And don't worry about finding her a job - she's got that one covered.
Unpacking their take out at Lily's, Malcolm claims he and Neil are 'cool' - he wanted to talk about Lily with regards to his job at RS. Not a fashion shoot - he wants to tell her 'survival' story. A poster child for cancer? Lily balks. No - Malcolm thinks her a warrior. She needs to share her story - capture the strength in her eyes. Let's take a few test shots - scrap the whole idea if she doesn't like them.
Neil isn't sure confronting Adam's a good idea. But Ashley feels strong enough (though is again teary over Adam trying to make her think she's insane). But why? She's been nothing but supportive - why would Adam hurt her? She's no longer vulnerable (but would LOVE Neil to be with her) ~hug~
Sharon can't believe Phyllis would say such ugly things about Dr Taylor. He molested his patients - a poorly kept secret at Harvard - everyone knew, Phyllis persists. Adam hadn't heard the rumour? Odd - everyone Phyllis spoke to did. No charges were laid because people were afraid to speak against him. But word got around - EVERYBODY knew - except Adam? she scoffs. You KNEW who this man was, Phyllis accuses. What!? Sharon screeches her objection - you think Adam WANTED Dr Taylor to attack Ashley!? You flew 2000 miles to dig up dirt on someone Adam just HAPPENED to know!? How vindictive - Phyllis just can't stand that Sharon's happy now - THAT must be it. As Sharon stomps off, Phyllis and Adam are left to stare one another down - neither blinking.
Now dressed up, Lily poses for Malcolm - who then encourages her to talk about the wig she's wearing for the first time. Lily talks about Colleen making wig shopping fun. Malcolm knows she misses her - and that leads to talk of Dru. He can't deny it's why he stayed away from GC. Telling Malcolm to turn his back, Lily fiddles with the wig - now ready to show the real her.
Jill drops by RS - where a busy Billy's forgotten all about their dinner plans. Looks like Billy could use some help - hire ME, Jill suggests.
As the honeymooners bring in their luggage, Phyllis suggests that Sharon hooked up with Adam to get Nick's attention. No - PHYLLIS is the one obsessed with Sharon - following them around - making up vicious lies. Ashley arrives with Neil (and some questions). Oh how Sharon wishes Ashley wouldn't let Phyllis poison her mind. Adam assumes the questions are about the accusations against Dr Taylor. But no - Ashley wants the truth - was HE the one trying to drive her insane?
Now with her wig back on, Lily checks out the shots on Malcolm's camera. Is bald beautiful or what? Thank you, Lily gives him a quick hug. Coming in, Cane's alarmed - test shots? Test shots for what? How dare Malcolm exploit Lily's illness? It's OK - really, Lily interjects. And after Malcolm leaves (with another 'thank you'), Lily scolds Cane for jumping down Malcolm's throat. Sorry - but Cane doesn't trust the guy.
This isn't your kind of environment, Billy points out to his Mom. But if RS is the 'little kid' laughing at the emperor with no clothes on - Jill feels he needs an insider in the palace - contacts and relationships - to get more stories. Is Jill offering to be a spy? Hmm - it DOES have possibilities - but this IS Billy's magazine - his Mom will work for HIM (not the other way around). OK - Jill's hired. And for the second time that day, Billy shakes the hand of a new employee.
Back at CL's, Jana's greeted warmly. But groans when Kevin announces he's taking her out for dinner. Oh no - she's already eaten. At the club? With who? Ryder? Kevin's questions are interrupted by Tucker - who needs a word. Kevin's to do a search on email from the main server - flag any email asking for info on him or business dealings (over the last three weeks). There's a 'nice' bonus (if he finds anything). And as the discussion continues, Jana gets a call from Noah - she didn't learn much - Ryder still claims he doesn't know who's in the other half of the photo - but she's not giving up yet. Kevin returns - she's not to ask what 'that' was about (and he won't ask about her and Ryder). Jana thinks he needs to hear it - you need to know. Kevin shuts her up - what he needs is an evening alone with his wife - with no mention of Ryder.
The arms folded, stand off at the ranch continues. Stop putting ideas in her head, Sharon snaps at Phyllis. She's not, Ashley glares at Adam - this sick feeling has nothing to do with anything Phyllis told her. And when Adam mentions Ashley's paranoia and mental health, Phyllis pounces - OMG - are you kidding me? Are you calling her crazy? Don't go there Adam, Neil wags his finger. Sharon reminds everyone that Adam's practically blind (and unable to leave the house last summer). She blames Phyllis - Ashley was Adam's biggest supporter until SHE came along whispering wild accusations in her ear. That's true - Ashley feels she HAS been a good friend to Adam (and lists all she's done - including asking him to be Faith's Godfather). Why does Ashley think that Adam's lying? Sharon wonders. The tone in his voice - the expression on his face are the exact same as when Adam lied to her before - brought her a bloody cloth - said she killed someone - then claimed he never said such a thing. You've been lying to me this entire time - I want you OUT of my house right now! Ashley's taking Faith out for a bit - and when they get back - Adam better be gone. And as Ashley marches upstairs, Phyllis looks as smug as Sharon looks stunned.
Things are already getting interesting at RS. Jill pooh pooh's Billy's lame cover story. She doesn't want to overstep - if he's happy with it, she is too. What's a poor magazine publisher to do? The Newman's haven't 'busted a move' this week. Just TELL me your idea, Billy manages to snarl and smile at the same time.
At the Ashby's, Lily sets Cane straight - Malcolm didn't 'want' something - he GAVE something - helped Lily see herself through new eyes - wait til Cane sees the photos. But is Lily really ready to share what she's going through with strangers? Lily hasn't agreed to go ahead - but what if it helps people? It's just a few pictures - Lily's no spokesperson for cancer. Hopefully tests next week will show the chemo's working - then they can put it all behind them. Cane hates to see her cry. Silly fool - these are happy tears.
Putting her coat on, Phyllis still isn't done talking to Sharon - guess Ashley's 'vindictive' too - add HER to the long list of people 'out to get' your husband. Can we ALL be wrong? OK - you've made your point, Adam growls. I hope I have, she smiles at Adam. With Phyllis finally gone, Adam claims he'd be falling apart if it weren't for Sharon (who now heads up to pack).
Still at CL's, Kevin refuses to listen to what Jana has to say about Ryder - he just wants to have a nice evening and maybe some sex for dessert - like they used to have before Ryder came along. He rolls his eyes when Jana claims that's just not possible.
Lily now tells Cane what she saw in the pictures; strength and courage - a woman her children will be proud of. Beauty is malcolm's bizness - he's able to recognize it where some wouldn't. No, no - she's not fishing for Cane to tell her she's gorgeous. As a model, Lily thought it was all about hair and make up. Yet, without either - Malcolm took the most beautiful pictures Lily's seen of herself. She saw her Mom. Perhaps seeing those pictures will make some other woman feel better about herself. Cane looks at Lily like she's just CURED cancer - he's 'blown away' ~kiss~
Joining Malcolm at the bar, Phyllis joins him in watching Neil and Ashley. Phyllis isn't sure if there's a story there - but it'd be a good thing. The divorce is the least of Ashley's problems - she's been taken by a liar. Knowing her all too well, Malcolm warns Phyllis not to get involved (then chuckles at her denials). OK - Phyllis may have 'minimal' involvement. But not to worry, she will NOT be dragged down when this guy takes the fall. Do I ever? Across the room, a smiling Neil coos at Faith (as 'Mommy' removes her from the stroller).
Kevin insists Jana take a night off from worrying about Daisy and Ryder - at least a few hours. He promises to make it worth her while - but can't elaborate (not in public anyway). Come with me please. Finally conceding defeat, Jana allows Kevin to escort her out.
Daisy tip toes her way into the dark theater (the same one Nina and Paul were at yesterday). Half of the photo's GONE, she hisses as she takes a seat beside Ryder. Hmm - Jana was asking me about my half of the photo again, Ryder admits. Yes - that's exactly who Daisy suspects of having it.
The Ashby's are giggling and stripping down as they cavort to the bedroom.
Jill shows Billy her idea - on a mock RS cover is a split screen photo of Tucker. Oh - Billy gets it now - Jill wants to settle a score. Yes a concept Billy's familiar with - his favourite pastime really. Jill doesn't actually HAVE any dirt on Tucker - but there must be something there (as he's nervous about someone looking into his past). And you know what I'm like when I'm highly motivated. Billy does - and almost feels sorry for Tucker. You should, Jill snatches the magazine back.
At the club, Tucker questions Neil about the identity of a very curious person digging into his past. Neil doesn't have anything for him - but will get back to him tomorrow. Tucker pauses to look nervous before exiting.
Returning to Ashley's table, Neil finds Malcolm and Phyllis there. The topic of conversation is still Adam (who Ashley claims Abby saw through from day one). Thank God - she'd have killed Adam if he did anything to her daughter. He's off the ranch now, Phyllis points out - everyone's safe. Your Mommy's tough, Phyllis coos and pets Faith.
Back at the ranch, Sharon's relieved - the club had a room tonight. Please talk to me, Adam appeals - knowing Sharon likes and respects Ashley - but last year she was seeing ghosts - this is more of the same. Sharon thinks the accusations against Dr taylor 'preposterous'. Yes, she still believes in her husband ~hug~ (but over his shoulder, Sharon looks worried)
Next: (In a suite at the club). I'm here to see Adam, Victor announces (presumably to Sharon) - as Adam squints and glares at him ...The Fisher's romantic dinner appears to derail. I still don't know how I feel about you investigating the people you work with, Jana squeals. You had no problem investigating Ryder, Kevin loudly reminds ... Jack's in bed with his bride - I think I know where this is coming from. This is about Patty, isn't it? (Patty gives him a piercing look).
My Thoughts: The movie Nina (otherwise known as 'big guns' according to Father Todd) and Paul went to see can't have been a good one - they were the only patrons at the theater. Daisy and Ryder, who're not supposed to be seen together, manage to find an old movie that everyone wants to see .. If he's unemployed, broke, homeless, where did Ryder get the money to buy a movie ticket? ... If RS offers it's employees contracts, how was Billy able to fire Chloe so easily? And why didn't Sharon have to sign one (when she worked for Billy for 5 minutes). Will Jill get to sign a contract? ... Are we really expected to believe that Billy ever saw Malcolm's pictures of child refugees? When did they start running those in Playboy? ... Silly Malcolm - nobody needs to go home for a private chat - even the most sensitive and personal discussions can take place in a busy club - or packed coffee shop ..... Weird to see Jana outside CL's - can the poverty stricken Fisher's really afford all Jana's daytime long distance overseas minutes with Noah? ... Line of the day goes to Sharon - barking at Phyllis to 'get a job'. Come ON! When was the last time Sharon Collins Newman Abbott Newman had a job (other than the aforementioned 5 minute stint at RS) - at least Phyllis has worked enough to collect UI ... Why is Kevin so nice to Daisy? Guess he's relieved she's not suing him for running that hazard of a coffee shop - where unsuspecting patrons slip on spilt coffee ... Oh Kevin - why are you wasting your time calling to reserve a table at the club - it's practically empty - makes it easier for new Mom's to wheel bulky strollers about - your wife and Ryder had no trouble getting a table without calling ahead to make a reservation ... 'Those poor women' the compassionate Ashley warbles - but shouldn't those 'poor women' have spoken up about the doctor with the wandering hands - Hey Doc! How long am I gonna be in these stirrups? - the pelvic exams that seemed a tad too intrusive - the KY Jelly that had a funny odour ... the thoroughness when examining breasts for lumps - perhaps if the first 'poor' woman had come forth, there wouldn't have been further abuse .... He brought that man into my home - with my young daughter, Ashley weeps - Dr Taylor may have been a creep - a criminal - abusing his position and his patients trust - but he wasn't a pedophile ... 'Oh no - he didn't do anything like that to me', Ashley quickly assures Neil. Like she'd know!? Her memory's almost as spotty as her panties at that time. How does she know WHAT happened during her 'delivery'? She could have entertained an entire football team and it's cheerleaders without knowing - apparently Ashley has no feeling below the waist. And if she thinks she feels 'sick' now - wait til she realizes that the only reason she didn't know she miscarried is because Adam did such a thorough clean up job between her thighs ... Runner up line of the day goes to Cane - who plans to find Jill a job. Excuse me? isn't JILL the one who got HIM the job with Tucker? - and now HE'S gonna get HER a job? Where was Cane (and his excellent job finding skills) when Jill was doing mani/pedi's? .... Lily needs a bigger hat - for her ego - who says she's gonna be a 'poster child'? Does she think photos of her bald self are gonna be gracing walls like Farah Fawcett's red bathing suit poster or sumthin'? ... If Billy wanted to do a story on Lily, he'd have just gone and asked her himself ... If Lily feels so beautiful bald - then why does she put the wig back on immediately after the photo shoot? ... With a deadline fast approaching (cause isn't it always) - how did anyone at RS have the time to create Jill's mock cover shot? ... Isn't Jill the last person who should be commenting on anyone else being 'unpopular'? That's as ironic as Cane (the fraud who lied to everyone for months) saying that MALCOLM'S not to be trusted ... LOL @ the adorable Faith's face - terrified as Phyllis loudly raves about how tough her Mommy is - all the while rubbing that soft spot on the poor kid's head. Faith should be wearing a hard hat instead of a little knitted skull cap. |
