Jack admires the red hot Mrs Abbott in her hot red bikini - her plans? To 'wear him out' with sex (and lack of dinner). As soon as she's in the shower, Jack leaves a call-me-back message for Ashley - he has new information on Victor and Jabot.
The Fisher's arrive at the club. Had Jana known of Kevin's dinner plans, she wouldn't have eaten with ... Yes - she knows - no talk of Ryder or Daisy. That's right - tonight they're living it up - like it's their last night on earth, in fact.
In the dark movie theater, Ryder and Daisy grumble about Jana poking into his past. The new plan 'changes everything' - (cue the ominous music) the Fisher's are about to learn what happens when Mama Bear gets backed into a corner.
Back at the ranch, Ashley thanks Neil for his support. Barging in as usual, Victor's snapped at - it's not a good time. He's there to see Adam (as it's the anniversary of Hope's death). He's at the club? Who's decision was that?
Unpacking in their new suite at the club, Sharon grumbles about living there - out of a suitcase again - just like when her life was in shambles. Adam will call the contractor - they'll be back in her old place again soon. Sharon's in a foul mood - thanks to what she heard tonight from Ashley and Phyllis. How could Adam NOT know what his friend, Dr Taylor, was accused of? And when Adam points out that Olivia, Ashley's friend, had nothing but good things to say about Dr Taylor, Sharon's still frowning - you have an answer for everything. Is it the truth? Or is Adam starting to believe his own lies? What can Adam say? Maybe there's nothing you CAN say, Sharon fumes.
Now seated, Kevin and Jana clink champagne flutes. As Kevin reads the menu, Jana just has to ask what Tucker wanted earlier. Kevin explains his assignment. Jana's unimpressed - he's spying on the people he works with. Investigating Ryder? That was completely different! Oh boy - we're doing it again. Both apologize - now - let's eat.
Sharon tells Adam that Dr Taylor was nothing but professional with her (the night she delivered at Fairview) - but never mind Dr T - WAS Adam the one who caused Ashley to have a nervous breakdown? Adam's sorry about it - but didn't do it. Sharon's relieved (and gullible) - thank you for telling me the truth. Grabbing the newspaper to check out what movies are playing, Sharon notes the date; February 18th. It is? It's the anniversary of my Mom's death, Adam pouts.
Back at the ranch, Neil leaves Ashley and Victor to talk (and Victor to grill Ashley on why Adam moved - there MUST be something to it). Arriving, Abby's delighted to hear Adam's left - finally. She hopes Sharon's OK - but it'll be nice to have the ranch to themselves. When Ashley announces that they'll be moving, Abby snarls about the tough year she's had - and now - on top of that - she's 'homeless'? Victor assures she won't be homeless - don't worry about that.
Patty's 'dastardly plan' is working. Plan? Yes - Jack's too exhausted to get out of bed (where they are now). Squirming out of Patty's kiss, Jack chuckles - he's seen a totally different side to her these past few days. No - he sure doesn't have a problem with that - but he thinks he knows where it's coming from. It's about Patty, isn't it?
Arms folded, Abby continues to feel sorry for herself - no one asks how she feels - or for HER opinion. Ashley DOES value her opinion? Oh really? Cause Abby wasn't asked when they moved to London - or LA - or etc. etc. She's 15! NOT a baby - yet, she's expected to just go along with everything - and like it. Well I DON'T! Ignoring Ashley's protests, Abby slams out. Should Victor go after her? Why!? So he can convince her to live with him and Nikki!? (an arrangement Victor HAD implied). Victor was merely giving her the option. Option? That's an interesting word - coming from YOU, Ashley orders him to leave it til tomorrow - SHE will do damage control tonight. In the meantime, Victor suggests SHE calm the hell down.
Naked and in bed, Jack feels it a great time to talk about his ex wife's suicide attempt (and how it must have effected his good DR). No degree needed to wonder if there's not a little 'escapism' going on in this room. You think I'm using sex as a distraction? Patty concludes. Yes - she DOES care about Patty - DOES feel like she failed her - maybe Jack's right. She's been trying not to think about it. Guilt can't run your life, Jack quotes his favourite author - Dr Emily Peterson. If she's upset, Jack's always available for talking. That's nice - but right now - talking isn't what Patty wants to do with her husband ~kiss~
Adam pours it on thick - he's been so caught up in everything else - he should have gone to Kansas - a place he loved. Softening, Sharon encourages him to talk about growing up on the farm - no - it's not silly that he named the farm animals - Hope taught him to love life. Sharon's now eager to do anything Adam needs - like telling whomever's knocking at the door to 'go away'. It's Victor - and he's there to see Adam.
Order anything - the sky's the limit, Kevin and Jana look at one another over the huge menus. She can't help but be a 'downer'. Well - if champagne and caviar won't do it - Kevin will just try harder - he's booked the honeymoon suite - with all the bells and whistles - to show Jana how much he loves her. This just isn't working, Jana scowls - this isn't us - we're pretending to be something we're not. Let's just call it quits - the night can't be salvaged now. As a disappointed Kevin walks off to take a call he claims he's waiting for - he actually calls to make changes to the honeymoon suite - canceling the rose petals etc. He's gonna use a different approach - nice and simple. Thanks - he'll meet someone up in the suite.
Neil joins the glum Abby at CL's - what's she so bummed about? Of COURSE it matters to him. Abby whines about moving - again. Her superpower is 'packing'. Cutting off his chuckle, Neil talks of Lily going through the same thing - globe trotting with her model Mom all the time. How did she deal with it? Home isn't a place - it's love for the people she lives with. Lily knew her home was wherever her family was.
As Victor talks of them both thinking of Hope, Sharon wonders what she would say about the way Victor's alienated Adam. Cutting Sharon off, Adam appreciates her loyalty - but wants to speak to his father alone. After Sharon leaves, Victor's pleased that Adam hasn't confided the plan to her. And what did Ashley say about him moving from the ranch? It was time. Adam has one regret - lying to his wife is eating him alive. It's for the best, Victor reasons - Hope? She'd be proud.
Returning from the restroom, Jana finds a card on the table - meet me at the Francis Theater on Elm - 4th row - first seat. Love K. With a smile, Jana hurries out. Meanwhile, in the elevator, Kevin thanks the staff for changing the honeymoon suite. His smile soon turns to a look of horror - as his call's cut off - and the elevator jerks to a stop.
Adam's not sure Hope would be proud - he's made many mistakes. Victor reminds that he served his time - he inherited his mother's disease - what he's accomplished against those odds is extraordinary - graduating from Harvard - married to a wonderful woman. Just stop - Adam can't hear this now - especially from Victor. Just remember your mother's legacy, Victor concludes - she saw only the good in people - Adam must do that now - look at the good in his life. Do that - in memory of Hope. And with a pat on the back, Victor leaves Adam to look guilt ridden.
Ashley can't believe Jack's calling her - to talk about his new 'game plan - on his HONEYMOON. If she were Emily, she'd hit him upside his head - go enjoy her ~click~ Patty comes out - she couldn't help overhearing - what's going on? Jack gripes about being trumped by the Black Knight (and his plans to stop the Jabot sale). Victor Newman, Patty suddenly realizes - we're going home - tonight.
Never mind what she's always saying about the need to 'detach' - Patty's now ready to stand by Jack's side and fight Victor (especially after what he did to her). Yes - giving Patty her face - and hurting him and Ashley. When Jack questions the change of heart, Patty claims this is what she loves about Jack - him standing up for what he believes in. They must fight Victor. Wow - Jack doesn't know where this is coming from - but it's a nice surprise. Our marriage is gonna be full of nice surprises - you're gonna see sides of me you've never seen before, Patty assures.
Abby and Neil return to the ranch with a box of Ashley's favourite brownies. Surprised to see them together, Ashley apologizes for the way she dumped the news on her. Abby apologizes for overreacting - and credits Neil. Home is where your family is - and Colleen and Daddy were her family. She still owns Colleen's house, so let's move in there. Yes - it WOULD make things better for her - Sharon and Adam can find somewhere else, right? Yes - Ashley thinks that a great idea. Thanking Neil, Abby heads up to bed (leaving Neil to remind Ashley that he has experience with teenage daughters - and be rewarded with a hug).
Adam mopes over a framed photo of Hope - what would she say about all the terrible things he's done? He'd do things differently - but can't. And now, he's in love. It's real Ma - for the first time - he feels at home - he wants to take away Sharon's pain and suffering - but if he tells her the truth - he'll lose Sharon forever. He can't do that. In tears, Adam wonders how to make things right - is it possible? Who is he? What is he doing? Sharon returns to console her weepy husband (but still wears a trouble look over his shoulder).
Grinning, Jana arrives at the old theater - and as the movie plays, calls out to Kevin as she cautiously proceeds down the aisle. Oh come ON! Kevin throws a fit in the elevator. Hello! can anyone hear me!? Jana giggles - OK - this is more like it - I adore a good mystery. Where ARE you? she calls out to the seemingly empty theater. Help me! Kevin continues to bang the elevator's buttons and door. GET ME OUT OF HERE! HELP! Jana gets to the 4th aisle, 1st seat - and opens the gift wrapped box she finds there. It's a photo album - Our Family. On the first page, is a photo of two babies - Ryder and Daisy. Hmmmm - Jana looks around nervously. Now on the floor, Kevin looks panicked as the elevator loudly shudders - the lights flicker.
Sharon vents about Victor having the nerve to upset Adam (the son he disowned) - on this of all days. Don't defend him - after all he said in that RS interview. It was all a hoax, Adam blurts out - then explains the plan. Sorry baby - I hate lying to you. Victor insisted - he figured what the hell - what's another lie in Adam's screwed up life. Sharon understands - he swore you to secrecy. Adam just wants to get into his father's good graces. Adam's emotional and relieved - she always sees the best in him (like his Mom did). I'm so utterly lost, he pants - if I lost you ... You won't lose me - Sharon's not going anywhere - right by his side - we're gonna build a life together. I don't deserve you, Adam falls into her arms. Meanwhile, Victor raises his glass at the bar - to you Hope.
Yes - Patty's sure she wants to do this - they need to go back and fix this ~kiss~ We're goin' home, Jack announces - to take my father's company back (flash to an unsuspecting Victor - moping at the bar).
Kevin skips down the club's stairs - on the phone with whomever's covering at CL's. Talking about his ordeal on the elevator, Kev gets to the empty table - and wonders if Jana's there (at CL's). Hanging up, he wonders some more - where'd she go?
In the theater, Jana flips pages in the photo album. Ryder and Daisy are twins? Who's their mother? Flipping another page, Jana gasps - oh God no - it can't be! As the book drops to the ground, Jana turns - screams at whomever's snuck up behind her. The theater music hits a dramatic note - and .... cut to black.
Next: Daisy's a good kid, Lauren (Mike at her side) tells Kevin. He shrugs - I thought that about Ryder ... I wish you would hold off on that decision, Victor says. No - I can't, Vikki (with Nick) is agitated - this whole thing could blow up in our faces ... Adam knew that this man was evil, Phyllis assures Ashley (who gasps in shock - Oh my God).
My Thoughts: Never mind that you're in bed with a psycho - not the woman you THOUGHT you married - putting THAT minor detail aside, what honeymooning groom spurns the advances of his horny wife - to bring up his ex wife? Way to kill the mood Jack ... Why's Patty so down on Victor - 'after all he did to me' - Isn't she right where she wants to be? Didn't Victor pay for the plastic surgery that made it possible for her to become Mrs Jack Abbott? ... Since Kevin lead Jana out of CL's by the arm - it's assumed they went to dinner at the club in the same car - so, if Kevin went to the movie theater - and Jana's to meet him there - which one of them was supposed to walked? .... So what if Mrs Abbott's a bit thick in the torso - and her aging elbows give away her advanced age - her saline breasts are perfectly round - kudos for being able to sport that red bikini - but where's the leopard one Jack bought her? .... Clearly Jana recognized Mama Bear - so, if it's Shelia Carter, Jana must recognize her from new articles about her and Lauren - that she was nosey enough to read. And knowing that Sheila had surgery to look like Phyllis, does Jana now suspect HER? What a confusing mess - about a woman who was shot DEAD ... Sharon sure is easy (in many ways) - initially suspicious and angry at Adam, she does a complete 180 - just because he's moping over his dead mother. 'I'm not sure there's anything you can say' she bleated - oops - guess Adam squeezing out a few tears was good enough. Did you drive Ashley crazy? No? OK - thanks for telling me the truth (like he was gonna fess up) ... Oh yeah Abby - you're gonna be homeless - How many 15 year olds OWN a mansion and a million dollar horse? Even is she wasn't incredibly wealthy, she could always shack up with Daisy at the dorms - or at Ryder's boarding house - why, there's even a homeless shelter (where you can be served Thanksgiving dinner by GC's social elite) ... How fitting that the Fisher's celebrate like it's their 'last night on earth'. Poor Kevin - bet he wished he hadn't been too lazy to take the stairs - like everyone else does. He's also so lazy he has to CALL the club's concierge (FROM the club) - can't he just walking over to the concierge's desk? ... When will Victor remember Ashley's simple rule - knock - then wait til someone says 'come in'? ... How adorable that young Adam named all the farm animals - what did he name em? Lunch? Dinner? And why would he bellyache about all the lies he's telling Sharon on Victor's behalf - after telling so many lies to cover his own schemes? .. I understand that this theater isn't very popular (likely because it shows old black and white films instead of the latest 3D blockbusters) - why run the film if there's no one to watch it - and shouldn't there be a uniformed usher lurking around? ... Huh? Jana can't pretend they're something they're not? The Fisher's don't eat dinner and have sex? I knew they were a bit quirky - but still ... |
