Patty quickly hides Dr P's self help book when Jack walks in on the phone. The Judge will hear us TODAY? Yes, Ashley does have a key to the Abbott mansion - but rings the doorbell out of respect for the new mistress of the manor. Dr P likes that - but has no idea what 'big day' Ashley's talking about. Delia's birthday party? No silly. Yes, P's SO excited. As Patty wonders what the hell she's talking about - then shows Ashley a 'whole new side' of herself (eager to stick it to Victor where the sun don't shine'. She's loosened up quite a bit since the wedding, Jack comments. As Jack heads up to grab Delia's gift, Patty fakes excitement when Ashley again mentions Jack's surprise - she can't wait to see his face.
At the club, Chloe marvels to Chance - her little fashionista's one year old - and oh, how her life has changed. She ditched the bad boy for the soldier. Chance is like a Daddy to Delia (though he's quick to assure he's not trying to take Billy's place - he IS doing a good job after all).
At RS, the Ashby's and Malcolm watch on as Jill and Billy admire the photos on the laptop. They're extraordinary. The SUBJECT is extraordinary, Malcolm corrects - Lily's an inspiration. Even Cane has to approve - nice job. Malcolm plans a follow up - the incredible bond as Mac carries the twins of a survivor (though Lily's not ready for that - nervous about the CAT scan that'll indicate if the cancer's gone - or spread. Billy takes Jill aside to say this won't sell magazines - they need to find dirt on Tucker.
At Tucker's, Victor's going over the contract. Jack's just blowing smoke (though Tucker's not so sure). He then talks about his run in with Kay - she said something he's not sure he believes. Victor's known Kay long enough to know her word is her bond.
Neil arrives at the mausoleum - with sparkling cider to celebrate the downfall of Tucker. Kay stuns Neil with the news that she's decided not to use the information (because she feels badly for abandoning him as a baby). No - he didn't play the 'guilt card' - he was as surprised as her. He's going to dismantle CI, Neil reminds - you HAVE to use it to save your company.
Back at RS, Billy's off to Delia's birthday party - maybe Malcolm could come - and bring his camera. Initially declining, Malcolm changes his mind (as he missed the 'cake mashing' at Billy's wedding). Let's get outta here.
The mausoleum's decorated in pink balloons as Jack arrives with Patty and Ashley (Faith's home with a fever). Ester's introduced to 'Emily'. Murphy's at a Lodge meeting - and Neil left after a difference of opinion (hoping she'll change her mind - though she won't). Patty joins Chloe in the dining room (to fish for info on the surprise). Not every woman could be that generous, Chloe's sure be blown away. Meanwhile, Kay wishes Jack and Ashley the best of luck in getting Jabot back. You know what it's like - losing the family legacy, Jack prattles on - you'd do anything you could - right? No answer from Kay.
Billy and Jill arrive at the mausoleum - followed by the Ashby's and Malcolm. There's slight friction when Chance offers beverages (as Billy quickly jumps in to play host). Lily mentions her scan - then goes to admire the cake (while Kay updates Cane that she's not using the info she has against Tucker - and gets the same reaction she got from Neil). As all admire the birthday girl, Jack takes a call - tell me some good news ...
Victor signs on the dotted line and shakes Tucker's hand - pleasure doing business with you. Victor then gets a call from Mike - what Judge would hear that case - don't worry - see you there. Getting a text, Tucker already knows about Jack's hearing. Off to DC, he won't be there. But Adam can testify - he was there when the bids ware unsealed. Unconcerned, Victor's confident - Jack won't be able to stop the sale.
With Delia on Chloe's lap, Billy blows the candle out before they can get to three. As all applaud and chuckle, the Ashby's look ahead to their children. And as Billy gives Delia yet another gift, Jack talks of donating to GCM's children's ward - they take donations don't they? Yeah - P thinks so. Wow - you went all out, Billy scoffs at Chance's gift (a rag doll). He then chides Chance for having to leave for work - save me a piece of cake. Aside, Jill pesters Kay - why isn't she trying to stop that weasel? When Kay walks away, Cane tells her to leave it alone (and when Jill guesses Kay found something - confides she's not using it).
Victor talks of Jack - the sore loser who's always coming up with conspiracy theories. Shouldn't be a problem, Tucker knows everything was on the up and up - Jabot went to the highest bidder pure and simple. Once Jack's thrown out, Victor will see to it that the Judge is too. Take no prisoners, Tucker admires that - They have much in common - hurting loved ones while climbing the ladder to success - facing their own mortality then promising to live life differently (then breaking that promise). Why, they're cut from the same wood - liking to win no matter what the cost (or 'karma'). Nice doing business with you - have a nice day (but, now alone, it doesn't seem Tucker IS having a nice day).
When Jill's the next person to try convince Kay to go after Tucker. Kay knows why Jill wants him punished - let it go! Kay now rejoins the party (while Billy's still griping about the rag doll). As Delia's put to bed, Jill again pesters Kay (while Jack's telling Ashley and Billy about the hearing - all he has to do is prove Victor somehow saw the bids). After Kay sends Lily off to her scan, she realizes she left the form at home. Malcolm will take her to GCM (while Cane goes for the form - and eclairs). As the party breaks up, Tucker calls Kay - wanting to see her.
Quietly slipping into Dr P's room, Victor slowly approaches her bed. Patty? Patty? It's Victor - the man you shot in the park instead of Jack. Do you believe in karma?
Ester's about to slam the door on Tucker, when he explains Kay's expecting him. As Ester huffs off, Kay assumes he's there to see if she kept her promise. His secret is safe with her. Tucker sighs - you're not who I expected you to be. But he has another reason for his visit ....
At RS, Jill's barking into the phone - what do you mean Tucker's clean - he CAN'T be. Call me if you find anything. Both she and Billy are 'batting zero'. If only that 'old fool' would use what she has.
Victor has very few regrets in his life - but one of them is bringing her to GC. Taking a seat, Victor never thought she'd harm his family - his granddaughter (boy, does he feel bad about that). Phyllis may be right - he's responsible. He promised to protect Patty - but instead opened old wounds - sorry about that. He wanted to punish Jack - for using Adam - by using Patty - instead, HE was punished (and the beautiful Colleen - that weighs heavy on his heart. He should have realized how sick she was - I'm deeply sorry. He wishes things had turned out differently - I really do.
As Jack heads inside to get his papers for court, Ashley accosts P on the front step - she just got a text - everything's on schedule - her package has arrived. OK - good, Patty grins - you really think he'll love it? Come see for yourself, Ashley dashes inside (leaving Patty to fret).
At CL's, Chance says the call wasn't about Jana - it was about Riggs. His body was found in the river. Now Chance will never know what he was trying to tell him. Chloe's relieved - now Chance can't be lured into anything dangerous (like Jana). Yeah, Chance guesses - let's just go home.
Kay explains it was Delia's first birthday party - just the family - a few friends. Tucker's mother used to bake Pineapple Upside Down Cake. Kay never baked a cake. Yeah - but Tucker's mother never ran a corporation. Tucker owes Kay - and is putting a hold on selling more CI assets. Taking a step forward - and tearing up - Kay thanks him.
Back at RS, Jill and Billy are still coming up empty on Tucker - maybe whatever Kay found wasn't a big deal. What could it be? Jill wouldn't put anything past him - Cane's busy (and wouldn't tell her anyway). Frustrated, Billy's not giving up.
Lily hands her jewelry to Malcolm (who offers encouragement and wise words). Where's Cane? I need him, Lily whines. Cane's at CL's - getting eclairs (when immigration officers arrive to say he's there illegally). Denying his plea to see Lily, Cane's cuffed (and asking if he can please call his wife).
Daddy! a little boy stuns Jack. Behind him, Ashley beams - while Patty doesn't know what the hell's going on. Kyle! Oh my gosh! Jack hugs the boy - I missed you so much. Ashley gets the next hug. No - she didn't set this up - his wife did. Surprise! Patty says weakly. Jack couldn't ask for a better gift. With another hug, Ashley must get back to Faith. Kyle talked to Patty on the phone - she's nice. Oh she's more than nice, Jack couldn't be happier - she's a very special lady.
Victor's still at confession - he never meant for this to happen - he'll arrange the best care money can buy. Jack Abbott is not worth it, are his parting words. As Victor leaves, Patty stirs to life. Jack, she murmurs.
Next: It looks like Nick and Phyllis have broken in someplace (going through Adam's things?) Shining a flashlight, they come across a book - Is that Dr Taylor's journal? No - Skye Lockheart ... Why are you being held by immigration? Lily whines. They want to deport me, Cane explains.... Patty leans over to hiss in P's face - What are you mumbling? It better be your prayers - cause I'm going to finish what I started. P's eyes suddenly pop wide open.
My Thoughts: Why is Patty so nervously hiding the book (behind the sofa pillows no less) when Jack walks in? What would be so odd about her skimming through her own self help book? Nice to see Victor in the apologizing mood - but don't stop there Mr Mumbles - you owe many more (I guess Phyllis and won't get one until she's in a coma - and only in a coma, would Phyllis take Victor's apology 'laying down' like that) And won't Phyllis be thrilled to hear that Victor's spending no expense on the medical costs of the psycho who nearly killed her daughter. I bet Victor didn't pay her and Summer's airfare to Switzerland? Or for HER medical expenses. 'Sorry' suddenly seems such a cheap word don't it? ... Colleen's death 'weighs heavily' on Victor's heart - how ironic - he wouldn't HAVE a heart if Colleen didn't die such a well timed death ... When is Jack gonna open the wedding gift Victor brought over? Has he checked to make sure it's not ticking? (or breathing) Cause, by now, the Abbott's should be expecting their 'surprise gifts' to be people - not objects - instead of wondering 'what' is it, they should be asking 'who' is it - this time? Why would Chloe think P's gift 'generous'? - was the air flight THAT much? It must cost more to ship Traci out (and more wrapping paper to cover her). Or does Chloe mean it's 'generous' to accept the child from a previous relationship - like Chance is doing) ... Odd that there's mention of numerous phone calls between P and Kyle - but no contact the day's prior - or OF his arrival - and why was Ashley calling her nephew a 'package'. Who picked the child up at the airport? ... Nice that Ashley rings the doorbell - to her family home (while Jack never respected HER and the mistress of the ranch - he always barged in like he owned the place) ... Jack seems to like that his wife has loosened up - wonder what THAT means. Did he finally notice something in bed? Maybe that one vagina's 'looser' than the other? ... Chloe didn't exactly ditch the bad boy for the soldier - the bad boy ditched HER ... Of course the bald Lily won't sell magazines - her last name's not Newman - plus readers might remember that Lily's already been in RS (that 'when love goes wrong' bit shot in their 60's style home) ... Understatement of the day goes to Tucker - Jack didn't seem pretty 'emotional' about losing Jabot - he was PISSED! ... Poor Delia - that had to be the shortest birthday party ever. Nice of so many old folks to devote their entire lunch break to her festivities. Weird that Nick and family weren't invited (as Chloe worked with them at RS - and they might actually bring a kid to a kid's party - what a novelty) - and what about Chloe's one and only friend; Amber (or is she too busy looking for Jana?) ... Obviously not liking the rag doll Chance gave Delia, I'm surprised he didn't mention the sewn on mass of hair as a choking/strangling hazard .. Oh Ashley - that wasn't a rag doll you carried around everywhere - it was a blanket you named Robert - remember?... Why isn't anyone guarding 'Patty'? If she was dangerous enough to warrant 24/7 lock up in a padded cell, why are there no safe guards in case she wakes up? And where's Paul? Why isn't he crying 'wake up... wake up - oh for the love of God, please wake up' ..... Duh - where would you like the birthday cake to go? Oh I dunno DETECTIVE Chancellor - maybe the table with the paper cups, party hats and balloons? Those could be clues ... Isn't it amazing that Adam, legally blind, managed to reseal the envelopes (containing the bids) so well that there was absolutely no sign they'd been previously opened? Didn't wonder why they all opened so easily?... If Jack missed Kyle so much, why didn't he ever visit or call him? Hell, he rarely mentioned the kid. If P was so generous, why couldn't she get Kyle there for Daddy's wedding? Born in 2001, Kyle seems to be the right age (for those who thought he may get that rapid soap aging syndrome). More useless tidbits - Delia's party's a bit late. She was actually born on February 16th, 2009 (and is played by triplets, not twins) .. Hmmm - what WAS Riggs trying to tell Chance in the alley? I dunno - maybe - Ouch - or I'm cold (or 'I've got bills to pay, man - this character has potential - don't kill me off') ... If Cane's in the country illegally, why has it taken the Department of Immigration so long to find him - he hasn't exactly been low key (with his media covered CEO positions - and at least TWO photo shoots in RS) |
