**Warning: Today's spoiler comes without benefit of spell check**
Summoned to the CL's patio, Heather assures Victor that Adam, his star witness in the Jabot hearing, won't be charged
(due to Ashley's accusations). Victor just wants her to do her damn job already.
Meanwhile, Jack and Ashley theorize over the respected obstetrician and the millionaire's son selling babies - or was
it to get back at Victor? Or Jack himself?
Perhaps they planned to steal and sell Ashley's baby (but took Sharon's instead)
How can they possibly tell Sharon that her baby might be alive!? But how can they NOT?
She deserves to know! Ashley insists.
As Sharon continues to nag - Adam continues to deny any wrongdoing. Never mind DR Taylor's molesting ways,
Ashley's baby's just fine. At mention of the word 'baby', Sharon recalls hearing one cry that night at Fairview -
and now is certain it was HERS. Dr Taylor was the only one to see her. He lied! You knew. Oh my God! My baby's alive!
With their beloved son shipped off out for a movie and a meal,
JT informs that he's retained someone at McCall Unlimited. Vikki just hopes they can keep things civil for Reed's sake.
As Kevin crumples the letter he's convinced Jana did NOT write, Mike plays devil's advocate - humour me -
had Jana been trying to tell Kevin something he didn't want to hear? No -
Kevin would know if Jana wanted to end their marriage. Come ON. Wouldn't Mike know if Lauren felt like that?
Lauren continues her thorough investigation of Paul's tonsils.
Yes, it DOES bring back memories. Paul's had too much to drink - but is touched that Lauren cares.
She will always love him -
and knows he feels the same.
She'll do anything to make Paul feel better - like kiss him. Connected at the lips, neither Paul nor Lauren notice
Daisy. But Mac, Jimmy's owner does - and she can't have underage minors on the premises.
Oh, Daisy's not drinking ya old sourpuss -
- she's there to take photos of 'faces that tell a story'. That's nice, but take your homework elsewhere kid.
Daisy cooperatively mosey's out, snapping more candid shots of Lauren (who's draped
all over the mopey Paul). Ordering more drinks, Lauren delivers an overly enthusiastic pep talk to the best brother and
friend ever. And brightly announcing their change of plans, Lauren settles the bill - and takes Paul home (as Mac's
left to scowl her dissaproval).
At CL's, Kevin still ain't buying the staged hotel room - OR the bogus letter. Mike stresses the need to find Jana - that's
what you do when you love someone (not that they were brought up to know). Right, finding Jana's top priority,
Kevin agrees (as Mike vows to help
- right after his meeting that is). Now alone, Kevin calls the newspaper to place a full page missing persons ad
(including a 50K reward) - 'I will never give up on you', the ad's to read.
On the patio, Heather can't help Victor (much as she'd like to) - her hands are tied
and not in a fun way - Adam hasn't done anything illegal. Terrorizing Ashley
and 'maybe' blackmailing Dr Taylor won't hold up in court. Never mind Heather's history of prosecuting Victor
with phoney charges - she and the great man are
on the same side here. Gimme a confession. Victor will be in touch - have a nice day. Outside, Victor makes a call -
I need to see you at your house - now.
Sharon's all in a panic - Dr Taylor lied! Faith was alive! Stop lying! she pounds on Adam's chest. If you ever loved me ..
please, she begs - where is she?! Adam ADORES Sharon - he doesn't know any more than she does. IF Dr Taylor lied ...
My baby's out there somewhere, Sharon seethes - then plays the 'Mommy' card. If Hope were alive
she'd despise her 'demon' son. And as Adam can only
hang his head and cry, Sharon throws her suitcases into the hall and slams the door behind her.
Wheeling his own suitcase out, Adam's back gives out - and he hobbles to the bed to make a call - it's me. I need
that prescription asap. And now he flashes back to happier times with Sharon (and then her suspicious questions -
and being confronted with Skye's diary) My baby's alive! echoes in his head.
Now at Ashley's, Sharon explains her 'flash' - she knows she heard her baby cry - she's alive! That's not
crazy at all, Ashley and Jack came up
with the same thought and then some. Hey, maybe Adam took Sharon's baby because he couldn't get to Ashley's.
Of COURSE he's
denying everything. Determined to know the truth, Dumb and Dumber decide to
make some calls (to the hospital, Fairview, and the morgue).
Getting a visit from Victor, Jack assumes he's there to discuss Adam; the monster he set loose on Ashley and the
world. Jack's denies any blame - Adam inherited his 'dark side' and it sure as hell wasn't
from Hope. But - they DID both took advantage of it. Now taking advantage of THEM,
Adam's sitting pretty in the 'catbird seat'
- waiting to see who'll present the best offer - but what he WON'T expect is the enemies working together.
At home, the Hellstrum's are joined by their respective lawyers - to go over today's proceedings. Both Vikki and JT
have agreed to make this as amicable as possible. But JT's lawyer's WRONG to assume that
Vikki's agreed to let JT continue to live there. And when JT's lawyer chides her for lack of interest
in her son's welfare, JT
sighs - that's not the way he wants to approach this. Mike dons his glasses to comment that
there's no reason this 'process' has to
be adversarial (it can continue with love and respect).
It's a DIVORCE, JT's lawyer reminds, then makes another incorrect assumption - that Mike's not married.
Why yes, Mike is - happily.
Mike's wife is very happy too - cuddling with Paul on his sofa (as they reminisce about the happy times they had). You
deserve to be happy, Lauren gushes. When an emotional Paul lists the people he 'let down',
Lauren's supportive - and proud to be his friend. 'I'm here', she
caresses his teary face, then initiates a passionate kiss! Initially responding when Lauren
mounts him, Paul finally pushes her off.
It's a bad idea - what about Mike? Oh Mike, Lauren volunteers him to
help with Patty! Huh? Paul want him involved? Cause he's
uncomfortable? He LIKES you, Lauren stresses - he'd WANT to help. Paul doesn't get it - we almost ...
No silly, Lauren laughs - she just wanted him to feel better. You OK? Paul's now concerned.
Lauren's touched - you're the sweetest man ever. I
love you, she breezes out (leaving Paul with a baffled look - and a boner)
When talking of protecting Reed, Vikki's interrupted by JT's lawyer - having 'disappeared' for weeks on end,
she doesn't have a
leg to stand on. Vikki protests - she wanted to TAKE Reed. And when JT balks at his lawyer's tactics, Vikki scoffs -
what is this? Good cop, bad cop? JT thanks 'Bruce' for his time - but this isn't working out. Reed's 'best interest' is
NOT to attack his Mom. We're done. After Bruce leaves, JT asks Mike for referrals. We'll try again some other time, he
leaves. See? Love and respect, Mike consoles Vikki (who tells him to show himself out before leaving too).
In the cage, Daisy struggles to force a shrieking Jana into a large wooden crate -
where she'll take Kevin's place until she convinces him
to stop looking for her. Pushing Daisy to the ground, Jana scurries off - but can't get far (on account of her hands
being tied - plus she IS confined to a cage). Oh, and here's Daisy to manhandle her some more.
Back at the Carlton Manor, Ashley's call to the hospital reveals that no baby was brought in with Sharon - nor were there
any infant fatalities that night. Sharon gasps - then informs the woman at Fairview was new - but is calling the morgue.
Ashley won't
let Sharon blame herself (didn't SHE ignore the red flags to stand by Victor?). Yeah, well, neither can forgive Adam (who
MUST be put behind bars). With Sharon too distraught to answer the call from the sanitarium, Ashley takes her phone - hello?
His back still aching, Adam's prescription is delivered by none other than the ADA herself. Painkillers? Awww -
take another
spill? Heather remembers how sweet and charming Adam WAS - WHEN he needed help with his legal problems that is. No - she
guesses he HASN'T had the 'best day' - with everyone suspecting him and all.
It's only natural they'd come to her. They? Hmm, let's see - there's
Ashley, Neil, Victor - she's quite popular thanks to Adam. For old time's sake, Heather's coming to him before launching
an investigation. You got nuthin', Adam's confident. True, but where there's a lot of smoke, there's usually fire.
The walls
are closing in - can you feel it? Thought so - catch ya later. Once alone, Adam makes a call.
Victor updates Jack that he's been to the DA's office. There's not enough proof to prosecute Adam for terrorizing
Ashley. How about they put their differences aside for her sake? Yeah, right - like they did to help
Kay (only Victor went behind Jack's back and used Adam to steal Jabot). Adam wouldn't happen to be dangling it
over Victor's head now would he?
Since Adam has leverage on BOTH of them, Jack feels the only thing to do is take
Jabot out of the equation.
Lauren's back at Jimmy's drinking coffee when Mike arrives to a warm greeting. Hanging out with poor Paul
makes her
appreciate all she has; him and Fen. Mike can relate (after spending time with the Hellstrum's). So sad - he's truly
blessed ~kiss~ Yes, Lauren's 'hero' will indeed take a look into Patty's case ~hug~
Paul's also switched to coffee - at CL's, when Heather comes along to ask about Aunt Patty. Kevin and Mac join them - can't
she help find Jana? It IS 'foul play'. Sorry she can't help, Heather moves along with Paul (leaving Mac to praise
Kevin on his faith). Kevin gets a call. Jana! Were ARE you? With Daisy holding the phone, Jana asks him if he got the
letter. For God's sake - the marriage is OVER! Forget the reward - she's moving on. If you love me, let me GO - good
bye ~click~ And as Jana's teary and defeated, Kevin's even more depressed.
Daisy figures Jana's better off without Kevin - women shouldn't depend on a man. That's what HER Mommy taught her.
Damsels in distress make Daisy sick. Jana knows the connection she has with Kevin. He'll
NEVER stop looking. You better hope he does - for your sake - and his own, Daisy warns.
Moping to Mac, Kevin recalls Jana's vows. Never mind - he'll be in his office. Arriving, JT's also bummed out (but
glad to see a friendly face). Entering through the patio, Vikki watches JT and Mac smile at one another - then sadly
turns and exits without being seen.
Ashley's on the phone with the sanitarium - so, we have positive confirmation. Thanks - I'll definitely call you back.
She then tells Sharon that there's nothing in the records to indicate she gave birth - Dr Taylor kept it a secret.
And the morgue? There were no stillborn babies that night. She's alive! a teary Sharon's now convinced.
Still in his suite, Adam's on the phone - no need to thank me - I look forward to meeting you too - at the little burger
joint on the highway. Now? Perfect. Sorry Mom, I have no choice, he whipsers to the ceiling.
Jack will drop the suite if Victor returns Jabot to Kay (as promised). He'd rather be back to King of 'square one' than
Adam's pawn. They must take away Adam's power to pit them against one another - AND bring him down. Papa John would be
spinning in his grave if Jack didn't avenge Ashley. He can live with Jabot being run by Kay - but can Victor live with
Jack being reinstated as CEO? If that's what it takes, Victor can. Deal.
Victor's plan requires 'extraordinary measures' - it's a bonus that Jack doesn't mind working outside
the boundaries of the law - and common decency. Yes, it WILL be fun. Adam's a
clever fellow - manipulative too. The authorities can't touch him, but THEY can. Alrighty then, Jack's IN - ALL in.
Next: Heather joins Rafe on the CL's patio. You're kinda the only person I can talk to about this. About what? Adam ...
.... Adam's at the meeting he arranged at the burger joint -
I'm just glad I got the chance to say thanks, a man smiles - what you did was phenomenal ...
I'd lke to be the one to tell Nick about
the baby, Sharon requests. Of course you will, Victor smiles.
My Thoughts: Hey, it's me - I'm gonna need that prescription, Adam says on the phone.
The pharmacist knows him as 'me'? He wasn't talking to Heather (as he greeted her with 'what are you doing here'?
But where did she get the meds? The club staff just leaves em outside the blind guy's door?)
.....
Sharon might be right in saying Hope would despise her son - but she also might not be too enthused about
you either sweetcheeks ... You'd think a former PI would be able
to find an attorney without the help of Vikki's attorney (or maybe he could just grab the Yellow Pages) ....
Good God Jack, when will you learn? He remembers the last time he teamed
up with Victor (as he rehashed how he just got screwed over) - and knowing Victor got Adam to
break the law, Jack's now
willing to do the same thing? Victor knows JACK'S OK with stepping outside the boundaries of
the law - and moral decency? This from the hypocritical once incarceration for commercial bribery - with
the ink not even
dry on the Jabot contract - a company he purchased by, you guessed it, stepping outside the boundaries of the law - and
moral decency. Odd that Jack ignored the
opportunity to remind Victor of that ... Isn't Jack being a bit presumptuous and overconfident? How does he know
Kay plans to reinstate him as Jabot's CEO? ...
Um Victor - you didn't 'go to the DA's office' - you met the ASSISTANT DA at a coffee shop
(you'd think the Great Man would skip an underling - and take his concerns right to the top) ...
What the hell's wrong with Mac? While working hard to conjure up a smile for JT, she appeared to
have Tourette's Syndrome. Is THAT why Vikki was looking at them so strangely? ...
... Daisy's to shoot 'faces that tell a story'? What's Lauren's story? The Hungry Caterpillar? The Joy of Sex? ...
Why is Mac so disapproving of Lauren molesting Paul? Good bartenders don't judge - they just keep pouring. If anything,
she should be concerned that two inhebriated patrons just drove out of her parking lot. Instead of
giving them a 'get a room' look - she should have been calling them a cab. We know
Paul drove to the club cause Heather saw his car ..And why does
Lauren call Jimmy's a 'sad, depressing place'? It's a fun and lively bar - with great atmosphere and charm (with a
bar held together by duct tape) ... How can Kevin order a full page ad in the newspaper without
giving his credit card number for payment? 'just her name' he order, but doesn't provide the name
... How did Jana manage to overpower Daisy - with her hands tied behind her back? How convenient that
there's a large wooden crate in the cage ...
... Show yourself out,
Vikki tells Mike. He has a key to lock up? Knows the code for the security system? (cause surely a guy who installs
security systems - and who lives on a millionaire's property where lunatics have been known to prowl and hide out -
they'd have a security system, right? ...
... Good thing Jimmy's is such a large and crowded bar and that
Lauren's so high n horny that she didn't even notice her trusted employee, taking candid
photos of her whoring (while she's supposed to be folding sweaters at the boutique) ... Paul's place needs a
bicycle rack? Yeah, cause he rides his bike a lot. Oh yes - the William's had such 'happy times' - her being kidnapped and buried
alive - the cheating - Sheila - and their biggest hurdle, meddling mother in law Mary. Um Paul - you didn't
exactly let Christine 'down' - you raped her. Of COURSE you're 'uncomfortable' - lookit how tight your jeans are
... Lauren's here - and not going anywhere
- at least not until her 'happily married' husband gets home and wonders where his dinner is ...
Victor hardly unleashed Adam on the WORLD -
he was confined to the ranch for the most part ... If Y&R were a drinking game, and we all took
a shot when hearing the word 'faith', we'd all by drunk by now. Kevin's got faith, so does Ashley - Sharon
desparately wants Faith. And poor Adam - he has no 'Hope' ... Never mind the handful of people Paul's let down - how about all those who let HIM down - April, Nikki, Isabella,
his mother (who hasn't taken ANY turns relieving Paul as he holds vigil at some stranger's bedside) ..
Though I'm not familiar with the
effects of Ecstasy, surely it doesn't totally eliminate one's sense of right and wrong. Lauren hasn't
forgotten that she's married - and since she's not a drinker (according to Daisy), she
should know booze doesn't mix with meds. And if she's gonna get Paul all worked 'up', isn't it kinda
cruel to let HIM down (so to speak) when the effects of the drug suddenly wear off? I was just 'with' Paul, Lauren
tells Mike - by 'with' she really means 'all OVER' Paul. Ironically, Mike was just with a couple who's marriage is
'in serious
trouble' - and by 'serious trouble' he also means 'all OVER' .... ...
Lauren may have her pretty pink pills - but Paul's got red eyes AND
blue balls ... Have a great weekend!
