Over coffee on CL's patio, Paul and Heather catch up briefly before Heather gets a call. That was fast, she hangs up - then confesses having Aunt Patty's cup tested for DNA. No, Heather's not convinced she's Emily - and maybe the lab results will convince Patty of that too.

At the Abbott mansion, Patty prays aloud - for a way to get out of this (and stay with the man she belongs with). What God has joined, let no man put asunder - oh Lord, show me the way. Mr Kitty? Patty hears a cat meow - and delighted to find Jack's new cat on the doorstep, carries it inside (unaware that Jack's watching from outside - daggers shooting from his eyes - smoke pouring from his ears).

Daniel rejoins Kevin at GCM. There's no change with Jana - she opened her eyes a few times but couldn't speak. The doctor reports she may have brain damage (or die). Get back in that room - declare your love - hold her hand - tell her she'll make it and she will, Daniel coaches. Amber? She didn't come home last night.

At CL's, Chloe's pleased to hear that Amber and Eric are welcome to stay at the mausoleum as long as they like. And Amber really missed being a Mom (which Daniel just doesn't get). Give him time? There IS no time - not if Amber wants to keep Eric safe.

Back from visiting Faith, Nick, Phyllis and Summer return to the tackhouse. And now Nick will spend the day with his two girls. How nice that Phyllis thought to give Summer a gift (which Daddy always brings back from a 'business trip'). Nick was in jail for their anniversary - but it's S'OK - Phyllis spent their wedding night in jail. When Summer requests a picnic, Nick's 'fancy' dinner plans are postponed - but the picnic will be held indoors (once it's decided who will move the furniture). Oh - happy day.

Victor joins Chance in the interrogation room - grumbling that he was winning in Solitaire - besides, he won't talk without his attorney. Chance then announces he's being released - new evidence disputes his confession. This is no 'trick' (though Chance won't share this new information).

Amber and Chloe clip clop into GCM. About to leave Amber a message, Daniel asks about Eric - we need to talk. As Amber wants to visit Jana first, Daniel calls Chloe over. In Jana's room, the doctor's optimistic as he gives two procedure options (of which Kevin chooses the less invasive one - coils inserted into Jana's skull). Glo and Amber hover as Kevin signs the paperwork - then hops onto Jana's bed to assure he'll be waiting when she comes out of surgery.

In the dining room, Mr Kitty devours a plate of tuna on the table. Patty's more than pleased to have a 'friend'. Now, what will we name you? I know - 'Cat'. Jack greets Patty in the living room (cat in her arms). He slept at the club. Where's the portrait? Patty didn't think he'd want to see it up there. Her friend? It's a stray. No - Jack doesn't mind - see you later. Oh - he WILL find a way to see Patty. The cat's to be kept in the poolhouse. Ouch - Patty gets a scratch - but no harm done. Now alone, Patty talks to Cat - Jack won't outsmart us - no he won't. Lingering outside, Jack glares through the glass - so are SO busted Patty - busted yourself without even knowing it.

Nick returns to the tackhouse with take out chicken and biscuits. Told that Summer wants to hear about their wedding, Nick obliges - marrying Mommy was the best thing he ever did. After the Newman's kiss (at Summer's request), Nick takes a call - OK - I'll be right there. Victor just got back from his 'business trip' and needs to be picked up. Taking a biscuit to go, Nick assures he won't miss their anniversary dinner.

In GCM's waiting lounge, Daniel whines that he's too young to be a Dad - doesn't Chloe feel tied down? No - Chloe feels 'grounded' - Delia's the best thing that ever happened to her - it's the most rewarded feeling in the world. Yeah, but Daniel wants it to be just him and Amber. He's not ready to sacrifice.

Back in Jana's room, Kevin waits impatiently - while Gloria and Amber offer support. Yesterday is history - tomorrow is a mystery - today's a gift - that's why they call it the 'present'. As Glo exits to take a call from Jeff, Amber comments on the side of Gloria she's never seen - hard to watch your kid suffer. Amber can't send Eric back to Tawny. She may have to leave GC - with Ryder and Daisy on the loose. Go - Jana would understand, Kevin encourages - Daniel will come around.

Jack joins Paul on the CL's patio - the woman he married isn't Emily - she's Patty. Paul's not overly surprised - I was afraid of that.

At home, Patty admires her newly dyed blonde hair. Tying a scarf around her head, she pets Cat - he'll like the poolhouse. Jack can't outsmart me - I'll show him. There's just one more thing she needs to do.

Nick's in the interrogation room with Chance and Victor - and is also curious about this new evidence.

Paul explains the DNA test - Heather's getting the results right now. Jack has his own proof - a cat - Patty's sticking her face in it's fur. Emily's allergic to cats, Jack clarifies (when Paul looks clueless). The woman he just left isn't. Making a call, Paul will try to get Jack access to whom he now believes is Emily. He's frustrated to hear that Dr Jasper's not there - and that Dr Abbott's forbidden all visitors. Paul has reason to believe the woman in that room isn't his sister! Hanging up, Paul gripes that half the staff's at a conference - there's no supervisor available to override Dr Abbott's orders. Heather races in - you're not gonna believe this! She shows them the lab results - she and the woman in the padded cell aren't related.

Patty enters Emily's cell - good news - you're getting out of here. Emily's understandably terrified when Patty pulls a syringe from her purse.

Everyone's gathered in Jana's room when the doctor reports surgery went well. He's guardedly optimistic she'll make a full recovery (though Kevin's still worried). As Daniel slips out to call his Mom, Kevin encourages Amber to leave GC - for California. Amber gets a call from Tawny (and scolds her for leaving Eric alone) ~click~ She's on her way to get Eric (her 'meal ticket'). Amber really hopes Kevin's right about Daniel - cause she and Eric are leaving tonight!

In the interrogation room, Chance plays the message found on the damaged cell phone. This might be Adam's last communication - Sharon wants nothing to do with him ... Is someone down here? Nick? What are you doing? This is a set up, Nick objects. Wanna revise your statement? Chance wants to know 'what happened the night Adam was murdered'?

Patty pulls the gurney into the morgue - pulls down the sheet and adds a 'Jane Doe' toe tag to Emily's unconscious body. See ya - wouldn't wanna be ya, she sings into her ear before running out.

As Daniel ends his call, Amber joins him. Both hate fighting - he's just not ready to have a kid. Amber can't abandon Eric. Daniel's not sure he can handle it - but can't live without Amber (who must be patient with him). Amber doesn't think Tawny coming is 'fantastic'. She and Eric are leaving GC tonight - please say he'll come with her. Are you serious right now? Leave GC? Daniel balks.

Victor calls Phyllis - find someone to watch Summer and come to the police station. Nick's being charged with Adam's murder.

Heather, Jack and Paul have involved the Executive Director - who knows Emily will have one helluva a case against the facility. Jack's got it from here. Handing over his house key, they're to go handle Patty. Jack's let into the padded cell - Emily? Her back to him, Patty lays on the bunk - with a sly smile.

As Kevin babbles to Jana, Chloe goes for food. Glo agrees with her - the Fisher's ARE a good 'love story'. Jana's hand twitches. Jana? Can you hear me? Kevin smiles through his tears - relived when Jana clasps his hand.

Meanwhile, in the lounge, Amber understands if Daniel needs a few days to pack - he can meet them in California (where he'll see more of his Dad). A month? A year? Does Amber ever plan to come back? Maybe - in the future - or maybe never.

Back in the interrogation room, Nick and Victor know Adam 'that punk', set Nick up. Victor still wants to take the blame. They won't believe you - and Nick needs Victor helping 'on the outside'. When Phyllis arrives with Chance, she's told about Adam's recording. Chance then reads Nick his rights....

Pattycake? It's me Paul - and Heather, they creep into Jack's. OMG! The portrait is shredded. And what's this? A note Patty left for Jack (Emily will never love him the way she does). She's leaving GC - never to be seen again.

Jack caresses Patty's back - Emily? Jack, Jack, she sobs in his arms. Jack tearfully apologizes. Someone believes me, Patty sniffles - she knocked me out - tried to kill me. Jack knows she's been through hell - but it's all over now ~hug~ Meanwhile, a drugged Emily, aka - Jane Doe, is filed in a drawer in the morgue.

Next: At GCM, Kay sadly watches on as Amber sobs - I can't say good bye to you .... In the interrogation room, Victor explains to Nick, Phyllis and Vikki - Adam tried to set Nick up before he left town - but somebody got to him first ... Kevin sounds horrified - Amber's leaving town and you're not going with her? I guess Amber and I don't have what you and Jana do, Daniel shrugs.

My Thoughts: You don't know what it's like growing up with her as a mother, Amber wails at Daniel. Guess she's forgetting that Daniel was raised with no mother at all .... How shocking that Dr Jasper's unavailable - but why is 'half the staff' at a conference? ... The peroxide's 'drying' Patty's hair out? Odd - cause it looks like she just slapped a wig on. In the padded cell for weeks, how come Emily has no dark roots growing in? ... Huh? Paul's 'secretary' told Jack he could find Paul on the CL's patio? Paul has a secretary? Like - in an office? Or is she sitting at a table inside CL's? If Paul has an office, why is he always working at CL's? ... Heather, the ADA, has to go pick up her own lab results - they aren't delivered to her door? They only deliver to the Carlton Manor and the Mausoleum? ... Heather got some 'new movies' in the mail? If she enjoys nice long walks, why not walk to the video store? ... Oh yeah - she's really 'making the most' outta her suspension. Shouldn't she be consulting with a representative who can help get her job back? Why would Heather care if her father approves of her having the test done? She certainly didn't care that he disapproved of her relationship with Adam (and likely wouldn't approve of her involvement in the 'kangaroo court' - did she confess to THAT?) .. Paul 'was afraid of that'? Really? NOW he too thinks Patty switched places with Emily? ... Um Patty - you big animal lover you - 'Cat is not a Mr Kitty - she's a Missus Kitty - Mr Kitty was Adam's stuffed toy cat... ... Huh Kevin? Nothing you can do (about Jana's prognosis)? Try marching yourself down to the chapel to do some praying - like everyone else does - like Patty - she knows when to pray for help - and got it .... Why did Daniel make like he didn't know where Amber spent the night? She clearly told him she was going to Mrs C's .... What? The Newman's can't have an indoor picnic without 'moving all the furniture'? It's too 'chilly' outside for a picnic? Jack didn't seem to find it cold while hanging around outside - don't the Newman's own sweaters? And why would Nick need to 'cook' or get take out? - can't he just slap together some sandwiches? Nick's taking his girls to a 'fancy restaurant'? Doesn't he mean the club? Does Phyllis hate the kitchen that much - that she'd rather move heavy furniture (just out of a cast)? ... And with the picnic underway - it doesn't look like anything WAS moved ... Doesn't the DA's office feel a little silly? Releasing Nick - only to re-arrest him the next day? Sure was nice of them to let him and Phyllis get one last shaggin' in .... Amber misses being a Mom? She and Eric had a 'bond' before Daniel came along? She was a Mom for about 5 minutes - then didn't mention or visit the child for well over a decade ... And what exactly is Eric in danger of? The 'dragon lady' is DEAD - wouldn't the mausoleum (guarded like 'Fort Know' - be the safest place for the kid? ... Summer still thinks Daddy was on a business trip? None of the kids at school teased her about her Dad being in jail? Guess Noah's the only kid who ever got teased at school ... Jana was dehydrated and malnourished? Ryder was always handing her bottles of water - and delivering bags of food .... Not sure Jack will approve of Patty feeding 'Cat' on the dining room table - and shouldn't it be eating cat food - instead of tuna? Looks (and sounds) like it was really enjoying it tho. Has Fisher seen the new addition to the household? Didn't Jack promise the cat a 'sweet feline life'? (alone all day in the poolhouse - which Jack apparently doesn't mind if the cat 'marks his territory') - does Patty really think Cat's gonna enjoy hearing birds chirping all day? Why does Patty assume the cat's a stray - couldn't it be the next door neighbour's? Shouldn't she check? Post some flyers? Put an ad in the 'lost and found' section of the newspaper? .... Nick has to pick Victor up at the station? Someone not in the middle of a picnic (and belatedly celebrating their anniversary) can't go fetch him? How about the driver who chauffeured Adam all over town - surely he's now got some free time. Or Nikki? Surely Victor's 'diamond in the rough' would drop everything to go get him ... It IS nice to see the 'other side' of Gloria - but why go out of her way to remind Kevin of his traumatic childhood and abusive father? Also nice that she made up a little song - to deal with things they can't change - only she COULD have changed things - by removing her kids from an abusive home .... Ahhh - Daniel's on 'Let's Make A Deal' - that would explain his wardrobe choices .... Chance was to retrieve 'messages' from the damaged cell - but instead, finds a 'recording' - which sounds like an outgoing call to 911. How can they not assume it's a set up?
