At CL's, it's an early Mother's Day for Vikki and Reed. But once the kid's sent off, Vikki and JT are bickering as usual (about JT's restrictions - and insistence that Reed's not to be exposed to this pesky murder investigation the Newman's are embroiled in).

Victor's huffing and puffing at the police station. Chance has nothing on Nick - and will only have to release him - again. Chance does so have evidence (so leads Nick off). According to Adam (who's voice begins to narrate), Nick did indeed kill him.

The doctor's impressed with Jana's finger squeezing - next, they'll work on her speech (causing Glo to gush about her lovely English accent). As Jana blinks, Chloe returns with some food. Kay and Murphy well be by later. Good - and where's Daniel and Amber - Kevin wants the share the good news.

In the waiting area, Amber isn't sure she's leaving 'forever' - but long enough to ensure Eric's safe. Daniel can't just leave his friends - and home. Alas, Amber can't stay - what happens to 'us'? Is the marriage over?

At the ranch, Sharon gets a call from Victor - and is stunned to hear Nick's been arrested again (thanks to Adam's recording). OK - Sharon will call the nanny ~click~ And as she makes the call, Adam's recording is played - Sharon was the love of his tragically short life - she always saw the good in him - if only she agreed to run away with him ....

In the interrogation room, Phyllis isn't buying Adam's 'performance' on his phone - this is the same guy who made Ashley think she killed Sabrina - her husband's no murderer - Adam set him up.

Daniel just wishes things could go back to the way they were. Pretend Eric doesn't exist? Amber claims her 'son' is not a 'rough spot'. But Eric's NOT her son. Danny? That's different - he raised Daniel. Amber feels this is the way it was meant to be. Fate? Daniel scoffs. The discussion ends when the Murphy's arrive with Eric - to see Jana. Admittedly 'out of the loop', Daniel goes for an update - Murphy will take Eric to the gift shop for some trading cards. That leaves Kay to wonder what's going on with the Romalotti's. Eric and I are leaving town, Amber sniffles - Daniel won't go with us.

As Adam's recording continues, Sharon arrives to hug Nick - Nikki's home with a cold. Victor's sure Nick will be out before she recovers. Mike? He's doing what he can. Bail? Doubtful - the DA really wants a Newman locked up. Vikki joins the party to hug her brother. Reed? He's with an assistant at NE. As Vikki's told about Adam's 'gift from the grave', Victor's sure Adam planned to frame Nick and leave town - someone got to him first. Nick thanks God they all believe him - but can they convince a jury?

After the doctor leaves, Amber asks for a moment to say good bye to Jana. As Daniel goes to fetch drinks, Kevin asks if Daniel's not going with Amber. And after Gloria reluctantly leaves with Chloe, Kevin's left to tsk tsk that Daniel hasn't learned from this experience - the Romalotti's should be grateful to have each other. In tears, Amber says her good byes - recalling the boxcar incident - never mind that she accused Kevin of killing Mrs C. Love you. Amber's now left to gush over Jana (who never judged the self proclaimed slutty, blonde gold digger). She'll call Jana all the time. Jana opens her eyes - but remains silent.

Outside the room, Kevin scolds the 'dense' Daniel. Yes, he WOULD follow Jana - be a father to some strange kid. Well then, Daniel guesses he and Amber just don't have what Kevin and Jana do. BS - look at all the Romalotti's have been through - that garbage with the Professor - Amber standing by Daniel when he was framed for murder. Amber's a flake - but fiercely loyal. Daniel doesn't want to be without his best friend - but they want different things. Kevin's parting words of wisdom? If Daniel doesn't go with Amber, it's like he's leaving her too.

As Daniel gets on the elevator, Amber tells the Murphy's, Chloe and Eric that she's taking off - to see amazing things with Eric. Yes, he's cool with that. Oh no - Chloe and Kay both have 'dust' in their eyes. As Murphy again distracts Eric, Chloe bids her BFF a tearful good bye. They're so much alike they even married the same guy - ha ha ~hug~ Amber's sobbing by the time she gets to Kay - how can she possibly say 'good bye'?

Having received a heads up call from a friend at the station, JT arrives to pick Reed up (surprised that Vikki brought him here). No need to 'track' Vikki down - JT and Reed have someplace to be thanks. Looking unimpressed, JR carries his son out.

While Vikki can't believe the recording's being taken seriously, Victor and Nick are impressed with Adam's 'pretty good' plan (which makes it impossible for Nick to prove his innocence). Sharon suggests Mike can get the recording tossed out. But - Adam's blood is still on Nick's jacket (and his pen in Adam's heart). Question is - how do they find the real killer?

Flashback to Victor ripping up the ID papers on Adam's crate - as Adam's voice continues - I did set Nick up - did a sweet job - they'll never figure it out. Now, Victor can visit his favourite son in prison - watch him rot in a cell. Yeah - that works for me. And as Victor shoves the crate out of the plane, Adam comments - can you believe this guy? Even dead, he treated me like garbage. But that's OK, Adam's getting the last laugh.

Alone in the interrogation room, Nick shares a secret with Phyllis - he and Summer planned to make her breakfast for Mother's Day. Bet Adam's laughing his ass off in hell. Phyllis reminds they busted Adam on every trick he pulled - they'll do it again. Though horrified at the idea, Phyllis reluctantly agrees to move to the main house (giving Nick one last thing to worry about).

Reed? Where's my son? Vikki's angry when Bruce announces JT came to get him. Vikki balks - this is MY time. But you weren't with him, Bruce points out. Victor puffs out his chest - how dare he interfere in his daughter's life. He doesn't give a damn if he's JT's lawyer. Grumbling about JT trying to make her look like a bad mother, Vikki marches out - she's sick and tired of JT making all the rules - that's gonna end!

Arriving home, Daniel flashes back to happier times with Amber - proposing - the rooftop wedding (performed by the newly ordained Kay). Grabbing his keys, Daniel marches back out.

Amber sobs - it'll be so weird - no more Mrs C pep talks. Kay will always be there for Amber. If, in her heart of hearts, this is something Amber needs to do - she must be true to your heart - and follow her instincts. There should be no regrets in putting a child's needs first. Amber's leaving because Tawny's on her way. She makes Glo look like a good Mom. Oh how Amber loves Kay (who's been more a mother than Tawny could ever be) ~hug~ And after exchanging 'I love you's', Amber sobs her way out.

Back at the station, Adam continues to narrate - Adam 1. Newman's - a big ole goose egg. Victor assures he'll take care of all Nick's girls - get him out - and put together his own investigative team (to find out who killed Adam). Sharon's then told to update Noah - sing Itsy Bitsy Spider to Faith. Happy anniversary, he kisses Phyllis. Chance announces 'it's time' - and Nick's lead off. Victor's left to grumble that his family's been to hell and back - someone begrudges what the Newman's have - they won't succeed - this family sticks together and is impervious - Adam won't get the best of them. Adam has something to say about that - Victor was beaten the day his hated son got a toe tag - which one of us is pathetic?

In Jana's room, Glo pounces on Kay - grateful this remarkable woman loves her son. Kay's not a fan of good bye's. Water, Jana mutters. Jana! You can talk! Kevin's jubilant.

Moping into the apartment, Amber calls Stryker (who's pleased to hear from his favourite drama queen). She and 'Herb' didn't make it? What a shock. As a depressed Daniel listens on the patio, 'Marina' sheds 'sad tears' - she has to leave her life - she and Herb (her best friend and amazing husband) want different things. Husband? Stryker thinks her completely nuts - but feels for them both. Yeah, Amber too. Daniel calls in - Herb needs to speak with his wife.

The Hellstrum's have a showdown at CL's. What the hell does JT think he's doing? Taking Reed without Vikki's permission. You took Reed to a police station!? JT fires back - have you lost your mind!?

Glo runs out to update Mike and Lauren - Kay and Chloe following soon after. Kevin's left to encourage Jana - he's so happy to have her back. Do I know you? Jana asks.

Stryker never figured Marina for a mother - it's mind blowing. Oh - and here's another caller - this just keeps getting better. Go ahead Herb. So - we didn't make it - Daniel can live without the ring and marriage certificate - but he can't live without his best friend. Do you really mean that? Amber gasps. Entering the apartment, phone still to his ear, Daniel wants Amber to have this amazing new life - no matter where she is, he'll always be thinking of her - I'm gonna miss you - so much ~hug~ Stryker wishes them all the best ~click~ Leaving Amber and Daniel to share a weepy farewell. Mascara running down her face, Amber wheels her luggage out.

Sharon welcomes Phyllis to the ranch - her room's ready. One big happy family, Phyllis apologizes - she's a little on edge. These PI's Victor hired - are they good? Sharon won't let a bunch of stranger solve this mystery. Phyllis either - but can they work together? For Nick - and his children? You bet your ass they can. Was this part of Adam's plan? To die so Nick would go to prison? Who would do that?

Nick's stuck in his cell as Adam narrates. How far would a person go to set his brother up for murder? Send him to prison? You have NO idea. Nick WILL go down - and Adam will have gotten away with the perfect crime. And if you think a dead man wouldn't care about revenge, you'd be wrong.

Next: Billy can only pull faces when Mac busts him - Victoria's the married woman you've been sleeping with .... At the Abbott mansion, Heather's gotta face the truth. She's dangerous, Paul agrees ... The morgue guy pulls out the drawer. Hand saw whirling and ready - OK 'Jane' - let's open you up and see how you died.

My Thoughts: Oops - I forgot to copy yesterday's thoughts over - they can be found at the end of yesterday's spoiler (by clicking yesterday's link from the main page) ... Is Victor's 'team of PI's any good'? And does Paul Williams know about this? ... Nick lets Phyllis in on a big secret - he and Summer were gonna make her a Mother's Day breakfast? Didn't he already promise to get up early and make a 'huge' breakfast yesterday? And is it wise to let Summer in the kitchen? Didn't the kid ruin Thanksgiving dinner by shoving crayons into the turkey? ... Nice to hear that Amber's fully aware that she's a blond, gold digging slut. Never judged by Jana - cause really - who IS she to judge? A murderer married to a pyromaniac bank robber - and who's Kevin to call Amber 'insane'? He's the one who's spent time rocking in a straight jacket and padded cell .... And yes - Amber and Chloe DO have much in common - 'marrying the same man' - because they're both gold digging sluts .... Something going on between you two? There MUST be something, Kay prods - cause yes - with the Romalotti's, it's ALWAYS something. Daniel can't leave GC - his friends in crisis (no mention of his mother's husband being arrested for murder - or his mother nearly being murdered) - but if HE'S waiting for a time that there's NOT 'something', Daniel will never leave GC ... Nikki couldn't make it to the station because she's got a cold? Suck it up - or blow it out (into a Kleenex) - doesn't she know the Newman's rally in a crisis - in sickness and in health? Victor knows that - but also that someone begrudges what the Newman's have. It seems the police begrudge them the most. So let's see how next year's policeman's ball turns out - without the Newman's (and quite likely the Abbott's and Chancellor's) It'll surely reflect in ticket sales and donations ... Yes Amber - 'pretend Eric doesn't exist' - just like you managed to do for many years (before your biological clock started ticking loudly - and the kid you once stole now became your 'son') ..... Nice pep talk Kevin - ordering Daniel to stay with Amber - then reminding him of that Professor 'garbage' - and that she also cheated with Deacon ... Marching out of his apartment, Daniel's in too much of a hurry to lock his apartment's front door - you'd think he might - given that someone once broke in and buried a Terroni in his wall - and with Amber so terrified she's leaving town - cause, thanks to Kevin, Daisy and Ryder are on the loose .... If Daniel 'can't live' without his best friend, why isn't he going along? Even if only to get Amber settled in California? He's got no job to request time off from ... Now Daniel claims Danny did a great job of raising him? Wasn't he all pissed off because Danny neglected him while constantly touring - bitter that he was left with friends or dragged along? ... Not only does the hospital's gift shop have Tarot cards - it also has cool trading cards. Of course Eric likes trading cards - but are they baseball cards? Hockey cards? Pokemon cards? Who cares - the gift shop stocks em all .... How many visitors is Nick allowed to have in the interrogation room? What's the delay in putting him behind bars? Nice that he got a few hugs in - before the 'no physical contact' policy goes into effect .... Didn't the doctor say it was imperative that Jana have rest - and 'quiet'? How is that possible - with Chloe, Kevin, Gloria and Kay wandering in and out? Perhaps Jana's just pretending she doesn't know them - so they'll leave her the hell alone (and she can avoid Amber calling 'all the time' - who wants that?) And how will Amber afford all these long distance calls? If she can't secure a job in GC - quitting the job her mother in law gave her - showing up at the boutique to fold sweaters once in a while - I doubt she'll do better in California ... Gloria won't 'leave her son'? NOW she's the doting mother? Where was she when Kevin was being abused for years - locked in a closet? Luckily she caved cause Chloe wanted to discuss her 'fabulous' shoes... Understatement of the day goes to Nick - knowing it's 'not an ideal situation' - Phyllis living at the ranch - with Sharon. Gee - ya think? Phyllis quips - understandably reluctant to share a home with the woman Nick cheated with - and the spawn they created. Never mind that Phyllis has campaigned to move off the ranch completely - to escape Victor. Oh well - if it gives Nick one less thing to worry about - it IS all about Nick after all ... Uh huh - there's SO much dust and pollen floating around the hospital (getting in everyone's eyes). I think Eric can tell they're crying - Amber looking like the 5th member of Kiss, her cheap non-waterproof mascara streaming down her cheeks obviously isn't Jabot Cosmetics... How kind of Murphy to help Eric 'pack' - but what does the kid have to pack? He didn't bring anything .... Yeah - it's so weird - Amber won't be able to get her Mrs C pep talks - cry on her shoulder - ruin her antiques by carelessly spilling water on em - and what about the screenplay? Does Nina know she's lost the writing partner Kay forced upon her? Was Amber paid in advance? Was there no contract? Guess not - since there's no longer a screenplay - much less a movie. The LA producers who were once pressuring Nina seem to have completely dropped the project (as the show has all but dropped Nina).... JT shouldn't have taken Reed without notifying his mother - but when entering the interrogation room, Vikki clearly said that Reed was with an 'assistant from the office' (presumably NE) - because she couldn't reach Gabby. Did she actually bring an NE employee over to the station - as opposed to having Reed watched in NE's fabulous daycare center?
