At CL's, Mac pops up to pay for Billy's coffee. The occasion? The anniversary of the marriage they had annulled. Of course Billy remembers - and even bought a gift. Mac loves her Snoopy key chain (and that she and Billy are friends).
The Hellstrum's continue to hiss at one another - over Vikki exposing Reed to the murder investigation. There's ALWAYS a crisis with the Newman family. THAT'S why JT has full custody!
At GCM, the Baldwin's arrive - and are relieved to hear (from Gloria) that Jana's now talking. And how's Lauren? Happy to be home. And as Kevin panics that Jana only knows him as the coffee house owner (not her husband), Lauren talks of Jana vowing to be home before the full moon - thanks to her love for Kevin, she made it. All three heads turn when Kevin urgently calls out for a doctor.
As Emily has her blood pressure taken, Jack babbles about not knowing she was in here. Stepping out to take Paul's call, Jack learns that Patty's missing. Keep in touch. When Jack returns, Patty clings tightly - don't ever let me go.
In the morgue, Emily's in drawer 11 - wearing a toe tag. Where am I? It's so cold, she thinks - OMG! And though her lips don't move, she screams in horror.
In front of the shredded portrait, Paul blames himself for not believing Emily. Oh, what she must have gone through. No one believed her, Heather reminds. Why the hell couldn't Paul recognize his own sister? She even fooled Jack, Heather continues to absolve Paul - there's an APB out on Patty. She's dangerous - who knows what she'll do now (having lost everything).
I'm not going anywhere, Jack assures 'his wife' - as Dr Jasper apologizes. It's over now, Patty sighs - thanks to Jack ~kiss~ Dr Jasper will go fetch 'Emily's clothes - and expedite the release papers. Still clinging, Patty's eager to go home - but Jack doesn't think that a good idea.
As JT carries Reed into CL's, Vikki follows (having something important to say). Inside, Billy and Mac take Reed - allowing Vikki to insist she's getting Reed back - and JT can't stop her. Watch me, JT snarls. She missed the hearing because she LIED - cut the BS - 'you people' justify your behavior. You people? I'm his MOTHER! His mother who took off for weeks - his mother who didn't show up in court, JT argues (sure that NO Judge will give Vikki custody).
Inside, Billy and Mac eye the argument on the patio - Billy taking Vikki's side, Mac taking JT's (and soon guessing that Vikki's the married woman he's sleeping with). Billy insists they're friends. It's casual. Yeah, casual sex? Mac knows Billy doesn't HAVE female friends - just conquests.
Vikki's sick of JT bashing her family. JT replays his list - Vikki's lying to the press (and SEC) - taking off to Dubai - helping Victor ambush Adam - oh, and the affair with Deacon. Vikki vows JT won't get away with this - using his son to prove he's a big shot. SHE has the power, money and success. JT's made his OWN success - while SHE can't even be a decent mother. Slapping JT's face, Vikki IS a good mother - and will come at JT with everything she has. Inside, Vikki's tears aren't because she and Daddy are fighting - she just loves Reed's Mother's Day card. And now, Reed's to go home with Daddy - be a good boy. He always is, JT snipes from the sidelines. Exchanging 'I love you's' (with Reed), Vikki marches out - leaving JT and Billy to eye one another.
Kevin shares his panic with the doctor - why's she acting like this? Not overly concerned with Jana's disorientation, the doctor will take a look at her. In the hallway, Kevin frets to Glo and the Baldwin's - she doesn't look or sound like his Jana. Unconvinced by Glo and Lauren's reassurance, Kevin watches through the window - as the doctor questions Jana (who doesn't seem to have any emotions) I don't feel anything, she states flatly.
Now holding 'her' clothes, 'Emily's' eager to go home - where she belongs. GCM!? To be checked out? No way. OK - Jack suggests they go to the club (as Patty did some damage to the house). Patty doesn't care - I just want to go home. Paul and Heather arrive to announce Patty's there - signed in as Emily an hour ago - and didn't sign out. No - Emily hasn't seen her - thank God. Leaping into action, Paul will have the placed locked down - and search for Patty. Jack should stay and watch 'Emily'. But with Patty again clinging to him, Jack seems suspicious - especially upon hearing 'Patty's gone'.
The coroner opens drawer number 11 and slides Emily out - OK, Jane - let's open you up and see how you died. I'm not dead! Emily silently wails in her head - as the saw buzzes in the coroner's hand.
'Emily' now dressed, Jack steps up his rant about the pathetically obsessed Patty - I don't know what I'd do if I saw her now. She loves you, Emily disagrees weakly. Jack continues to insult Patty (whom he never loved). Why, he even slept with Diane the night before their wedding. Patty turns his stomach .... Stop - just stop - Emily doesn't want to talk about Patty - she just wants to go home. Jack's eyes narrow in suspicion.
As JT carries a sleeping Reed into his apartment, Mac suggests they order a pizza. Meanwhile, Vikki's at home - moping over Reed's heart shaped cookie. She gets a call from security - Billy Abbott? Let him in ~click~
The doctor comes out to update an anxious Kevin and family - Jana's memory is back - but she lacks the emotions - it's like it happened to someone else. The part of the brain that controls emotions has been damaged. A neurologist will be consulted - but there's no guarantees Jana will get better.
When Kevin doesn't take the news well, Mike steps in to calm him down - let the doctor do his job. As Lauren goes in to try and 'reach' Jana, Kevin has another hissy fit - this can't be happening! She's alive, Mike reminds. This isn't alive for her! Kevin WILL give the doctor's a chance - but what if Jana doesn't come back? Then what?!
Jana remembers Lauren; Kevin's sister in law; Mike's wife - and that karma's a bitch (their code word). Without emotion, she flatly recalls being locked in the cage by Daisy and Ryder - and that Lauren risked her life for Jana. That's what family's do, Lauren takes Jana's hand - we're all gonna help you. Jana can only wish that meant something to her.
Patty can go to hell? That doesn't sound like the Emily Jack knew. Paul and Heather return - we're on lockdown - the cops are on the way - won't be long before they find Patty. No - it won't be long at all, Jack announces - THIS is Patty - say hello to your sister! Smell the Peroxide? See the cat scratch? As Patty whimpers protest, Jack demands to know where Emily is!
As Patty dissolves into a sobbing mess, Paul tries to calm Jack down. I'm Emily, Patty maintains. Not buyin' it, Jack will shake the the truth out of her. You don't need Emily - you need ME - we'll be happy! Patty sobs. Paul grabs Patty - where is Emily?! Jack tries another approach - if you truly move me, tell me where Emily is - so I can help her. She's gone, Patty whispers. I love you, Patty wails in Paul's arms - as Jack sprints out (and Heather watches on in horror).
With Reed now asleep (after briefly waking up to ask about his Mom), JT moans to Mac about his world being turned upside down. He recalls Vikki's first words when awakening from the coma 'we're a family' - now there's only bitterness and anger. Vikki's taking him back to court. JT doesn't question Vikki's love - but her judgment sucks.
As if to prove it, Vikki drags Billy inside - get in here. Did anyone see him? No - just the 100 guards and Segundo. Not expecting to find Vikki in such a jovial mood, Billy brought her a cookie - decorated with icing boxer shorts. Vikki laughs - eating your shorts will cheer me up? Yeah - and how about a beer?
Over beers, Billy thinks he'd have more fun at Jimmy's. Vikki's now depressed because her brother's in jail - and she's fighting to get her son back. Billy admits it's been a rotten day - but unable to cheer Vikki up, leaves with an impersonal 'see you around'. And on either side of the front door, both look disappointed.
Good thing Mac has a new keychain - JT would like her to keep the key to his apartment. She should be with somebody special. Mac IS - you're a good man. You're good for me, JT initiates a ~kiss~
At Jana's bedside, Kevin vows to get her the best care - everything will be OK. Jana's not sure what he expects her to say. She doesn't have to say - or feel anything - Kevin has enough love for both of them - the feelings and love will come back, he's sure (until Jana pulls her hand away to hide it under the bed sheet).
Jack runs into the morgue - just as the coroner's about to saw into Emily's body. Sir - you can't be in here. NO!!!!! a devastated Jack cries over his wife's body. Emily. I'm so sorry - Oh God.
Paul cradles he despondent Patty in his arms - can you hear me? Tell me what happened to Emily? You didn't hurt her, did you? Patty needs to leave - Jack will be mad when he gets back. Why? Shhhhh - help me get away. Please, Patty pleads. Why will Jack be mad? Oh God, Patty! Paul's now sobbing too.
Jack continues to weep over Emily - apologizing repeatedly. But wait - that's a tear on her cheek. Em!? She's got a pulse! She's alive!
Next: Seated beside Cane, Lily asks - what are the risks to the babies? There's complications with any medical procedure, Dr Liv points out. Including death? .... As Mac lets herself into JT's apartment, Vikki's grilling JT - I want to know what the hell's going on - how often has she been helping you with my son ... There's another way for me to leave - please stay back (braced against the wall, Patty holds a syringe to her neck).
My Thoughts: Jana may never be the way she was? Kevin frets. Oh no - you mean she won't be a murderer - or an annoying misfit? Her annoying accent is now even worse - delivered in a dull monotone... Billy doesn't HAVE female friends? But - didn't he and Mac just establish that THEY are friends (and oh how wonderful that is)? .... Note to Vikki - when vowing to fight for custody of a kid you lost, slapping said kids's father (with said kid present) isn't exactly the best move. JT shoulda had her arrested for assault .... Patty was no match for Emily in bed? NOW, Jack notices a difference? I'm guessing Patty was way more aggressive between the sheets - she couldn't get enough .... Jack suggests a room at the club for the night - because Patty did 'some real damage' to the house? Like he couldn't just have someone hide the shredded portrait .... Paul actually asks Heather if the cops searching for Patty know she's 'sick' - duh - I think everyone, including the cops, know Patty William's widely publicized history. Ever clueless, Paul calls Jack - Patty's not here - but 'she couldn't have gone far'? Oh nooo - a woman who managed to fool Emily's wife and her own detective brother - to slip in and out of a secured hospital - couldn't possibly manage to hop on a bus or plane. Shouldn't Paul be having the airport and bus station staked out? Aren't there already cops posted there anyway? Looking for Ryder and Daisy? Why didn't Paul or Heather smell the peroxide - and why didn't anyone smell it when Patty dyed Emily's hair in the enclosed (and unventilated) padded cell? .... Thankfully, Jack's more on the ball now - busting Patty, again - even noticing a tear Emily managed to squeeze cheek - what else could the poor woman do? Maybe pee all over the floor? She HAS been in the drawer for hours - or perhaps she's like Jana - and never has to urinate or defecate ... Billy's gonna use his 'journalistic skills' - to have Victor arrested - and Nick released? Yeah - and I'm gonna use my flying skills to wing on over to Fiji ... Does Billy really think the ADA's office arrests people based on articles in a fashion magazine - or that RS readers are eager for yet another story about the Newman's - it's been what - since LAST month? ... Billy and Mac both remember the anniversary of their 5 minute annulled marriage? Yet husbands across the nation manage to forget their anniversary's to wives they've been wed to for decades? ... A Pulitzer? For his trashy 'everything you didn't want to know about the Newman family' rag? But really - shouldn't Billy be frantically trying to make a deadline right about now? With Chloe loitering at the hospital (for a woman she barely knows) - or delivering take out to the police station - and Jill's being fired. RS must be a bit short handed. Speaking of Jill, why is Billy getting Mac a gift - instead of his mother? Or perhaps a gift for Chloe - the mother of his child ..... Mac just loves Snoopy and Woodstock - because they're 'polar opposites'? Yeah - one's a dog and one's a bird. Not sure Billy analyzed the symbolism - I think it was the cheapest thing he could get. Probably came from GCM's gift shop. Why does Mac even need a keychain? The mausoleum's front door is never locked .... Now thinking that they've been holding famed author and renowned psychiatrist, Emily Peterson captive in a padded cell for months, wouldn't it have been nice if she could wait for her expedited release - in the waiting room? Or the director's office? Of course she doesn't want to hang around the padded cell until Patty's found ... Obviously she doesn't care if her 'husband' watches her change - but couldn't Patty have been offered privacy from the orderlies, detectives and ADA's running in and out? And if the place is on lockdown, how did Paul and Heather just march into the cell? ... Good thing most of the folks on the coroner's slab are dead - a steady hand might not be needed to perform operations on the cadavers - but still - with folks just barging into the morgue, like Jack did, how many times has the startled coroner cut off a finger or toe with his little circular buzz saw? Or dropped someone's brain on the floor? ("housekeeping to the morgue - with a mop please"). How did the coroner not recognize Dr Emily Peterson (who frequently works there)? How could he not know she wasn't dead - shouldn't he have noticed the lack of rigor mortis? The pallor of her skin? The fact that she's warm and has a pulse!? And who requested the autopsy anyway? Do taxpayers foot the bill for autopsies on all identified bodies? LOL@ the way the coroner looks at the whirling saw - like he's never used it before - or is forgetting something - like perhaps some kinda safety goggles - or the mask hanging uselessly around his neck .... Ha! Vikki actually gets a call from the guard house - where Billy's waiting for authorization to proceed into the Newman compound. Newman security has really been stepped up - but let's see how long it takes before an uninvited (and unwelcome) visitor comes knocking on the ranch's front door.
