Kevin arrives at Jana's room with good news - she's well enough to come home - tonight. He's 'psyched' (and yes - he DOES hope she'll 'feel something' - a connection). But - no pressure - if it happens, it happens. Off to CL's, Kevin's sure they'll get through this - it'll just take some time. .
Her hair back to brunette, Emily's at CL's - calling around looking for a job. A dissatisfied patient gripes about being desperate - and a 'fake telling her to go to her 'happy place'. Emily's sorry - but she was being held against her will. With an imposter stalking her, Lynn feels Emily should have warned her patients. Why, she almost swallowed a whole bottle of pills! Now thinking of suing Emily, the angry patient snaps 'stay away from me' (and stomps off). Refill Mrs Abbott? Don't call me Mrs Abbott - I never was, Emily corrects the barrista on duty.
On the patio, JT raves about going to the Three Stooges with Mac (though Reed just wants to see his Mommy). You live with me, JT reminds - Mommy will visit as often as she can.
Yup - THIS is the woman Billy was in Jamaica with. Is this Billy's way of 'hitting' Victor back? Wait - YOU'RE responsible for the black eye? Jack now turns on Victor. Please! Vikki and Billy call off their respective guard dogs.
In Ashley's new (old) office, Tucker encourages her to answer the CEO's private line - for practice. Seeing it's building security, Ashley let's him get this one. Protesting? In the lobby? Tucker frowns - who's leading this protest?
In Jabot's lobby, a young woman's on her soapbox - ranting to the assembled press about animals being harmed in the name of beauty - Jabot's cruel practice of laboratory testing - all animals feel pain blah blah blah. My name is Abby Newman - and I'd rather be naked than wear fur! Shedding her coat, a triumphant nuAbby's grin is met with wide eyes and applause.
Back on the patio, Kevin and Emily exchange introductions (having their names plastered all over the press gives them one thing in common). And being kidnapped herself is something Emily has in common with Jana. Yes, she'd be happy to counsel the Fisher's.
Hanging up, Tucker reports that there's a bunch of wanna be hippies protesting Jabot testing it's products on animals. Ridiculous! Ashley's father was opposed to that - and head of R&D 'for years', Ashley wouldn't condone it either. How dare they! She rushes off to save her company's reputation. And as Ashley and Tucker get off the elevator, Abby's claiming to know all Jabot's secrets. Abby! Ashley's stunned (then hustles her, coat back on, to the elevator). Show's over! Tucker barks (then refusing comment to the inquisitive press) states that Jabot has never - will never - test products on animals. Tour the lab right now. Ms Newman's young - got her wires crossed - go easy on her - we all know what rebellious kids are like.
Vikki reminds all that she's over 21, single - and free. Deal with it! As Jack takes Billy off for a lecture, Victor scowls - did he raise Vikki to end up with this obnoxious punk?
In Jana's room, Kevin blathers on about his preparations for her homecoming - hoping she'll feel at home. Emily asks how Jana feels about that - she knows Kevin has Jana's best interests at heart - but from her point of view, it's overwhelming - too much pressure. He's to rethink his approach.
Clip clopping into the CEO's office, Ashley scolds Abby. The camera toting press follow - asking Abby to back up her claim. Abby rants about Tucker stealing the company from her family. She doesn't know what she's talking about, Ashley slams the door on the press - then blasts Abby for spreading lies about her grandfather's company. I'm the new CEO, Ashley then announces. Oops! - Abby's sorry - and now panics about exposing herself on TV. Assuring she'll handle it, Ashley orders Abby to keep a low profile - head out the back door. No more stunts, Abby promises with a hug - so excited that Mom's 'running things' again. Tippy toeing out, Abby calls Ken - did you get the footage we need? Awesome - meet me at CL's - it's time to face my adoring public.
Vikki and Victor continue to debate his controlling ways - why can't he let his kids go? Don't you walk away from me! Victor barks - he's lecturing her like a teenager because she's BEHAVING like one for heaven's sake. Speaking of teenage daughters, Victor then hears a news report of Abby's protest. His jaw drops as he stares dumbfounded at the TV - Ms Newman resorted to nudity to emphasize her point.
Jana wonders when she'll feel normal again. Emily can't comment on the prognosis - but will work with them (and do some research). Kevin should stop projecting his hopes onto Jana - she can't respond to his 'I love you's'. Tension's not good for her recovery. Ignoring the advice, Kevin can't apologize for loving Jana. He won't lose faith no matter what. What? Did I say something wrong? No, Emily sighs - he said everything right.
At the club, Billy's already got a beer in front of him (as Jack lambastes him for taking off with Victor Newman's daughter). THE Victor Newman? Billy's sarcastic - oh no - I'm in so much trouble. Jack ain't laughing - next time he may not be able to help Billy. A shiner will be the least of his worries.
Abby meets Ken (her manager?) at CL's. She just heard a DJ talking about her on the radio - it's so cool! And just the beginning, Ken plays his edited footage. Abby's delighted with her performance - and that Ashley's interruption now makes her sound like a 'witch'. No worries - Abby will pay Ken tomorrow - and can handle her parents too.
When Victor comes to Jabot looking for answers, Ashley explains that Abby was sticking it to Tucker and management - unaware that SHE'S management. Victor's horrified that Ashley just signed a contract with Tucker - shouldn't she focus on Abby? She's not a little girl, Ashley reminds. Of COURSE she cares that Abby stripped on TV. Tucker interrupts talking business, summoning her to the conference room. Perfect - Ashley clip clops out (leaving Tucker to surmise that Victor's not having the best night). Not to worry - he took care of the Abby situation. The way he took care of Vikki's custody? Looks like Tucker's 'helped' the Newman's a lot lately - and will be repaid 'in kind'.
Now alone with her new therapist, Jana wonders how she should act when she gets home - do her best to laugh or cry? Emily thinks she needs to be honest with the people she loves. Don't be afraid to ask your husband for what you need.
Jack's lecture continues - this is Victor Newman - mess with his family and you'll pay for it. Grow the hell up! Yeah, well at least Billy could tell the difference between his wives in bed. Told to get the hell out of Jack's sight, Billy takes one more sip before obliging.
Returning home to an empty house, Vikki only mopes for a minute before Reed comes knocking at the door - with flowers. And as JT lurks in the bushes, Vikki tears up with her son in her arms.
Cautiously edging into the home she shares with Kevin, Jana's obviously uncomfortable. Picking up their wedding photo, Jana remembers the ashram (as Kevin rambles on about switching jackets with Daniel). Jana also remembers her Ouija Board - but has no interest in consulting it for answers. When Kevin offers to leave, he's disappointed that Jana could use a night alone (to let it all sink in). No worries - he'll crash on Mike's couch. Kevin will do whatever it takes for Jana to remember how much she loves their life together.
Bumping into Jack at the club, Emily turns her back. Can we talk? Jack could deliver her clothes and make up. No - Emily doesn't want them (after Patty used them). She'll rebuild her life on her own. Emily has patients threatening to sue her - former employers who won't take her calls. She's moving on with her life. Jack needs to let go. Please, Jack implores.
Now inside (and with Reed upstairs to fetch a book), Vikki thanks JT for bringing him by. Unaware of Vikki's trip - or 'marriage', JT knows it must have been hard - coming home after the hearing. Given JT's 'harshness' over the last 48 hours, Vikki gets the feeling he's now setting her up - but why?
As Ken goes to get something printed out, Abby jumps up and down in anticipation - barely able to contain her delight - until Victor appears to request she join him on the CL's patio. Like a busted 5 year old, Abby bows her head and plods after him.
Bag over his shoulder, Kevin offers leftover vegan in the fridge - he'll just be two floors up. Jana thanks him - but turns her head when he leans in for a kiss. Good night, she politely says as Kevin exits (pausing to look disappointed in the hallway).
Back at the club, Emily asks Jack why he couldn't see what was in front of him. Yeah - but wouls SHE jump to the evil twin scenario? He DID notice a difference - and only ignored them because he loves Emily. It wasn't four months of wedded bliss - it was four frustrating months of trying to find Emily in HER. Jack will give Emily space - but he won't give up ~kiss~ Take as much time as you need - Jack will wait. As Jack exits, Billy orders a water at the bar. Finding the airline ticket in his wallet, he crumples and tosses it.
JT's serious about working together as parents. Nobody 'won'. He knows Vikki's important in Reed's life. When Reed comes down with his book, it's time to say good night to Mom. Be good for Daddy, Vikki clutches Reed tightly. JT will call about visitation. Night Mommy, Reed calls out pitifully from JT's arms. Vikki then calls to leave a message for Mike - about an annulment. Never mind - no message. She smiles at the beads in her hand - placing them in an intricate wooden keepsake box.
Abby delivers another performance on the patio - she didn't mean to embarass Dad or Mom - she just wants them to be proud of her *sniff*. Victor sees that Abby's taking responsibility for her actions - now dry your tears - let's go home. 'You're the best, Dad' ~kiss~ Inside to supposedly repair her face, Abby makes a beeline for Ken. Change of plans - she's gotta go with her Dad (whom she does indeed have wrapped around her little finger). Hot off the presses, Ken hands over a glossy flyer. 'The Naked Heiress' shows a shot of Abby from behind - flashing, as she's about to take her coat off. Perfect! No network will turn them down - this reality show will happen! Abby bubbles over with delight.
In Jabot's CEO office, Ashley brings up the Abby incident (which Tucker shrugs off as youthful indiscretion - she'll learn - she has a Mom who loves her - but won't hesitate to kick her butt when needed). Tucker then leaves Ashley to make a call - to Victor - maybe Abby's not mature enough to handle this - can he undo the arrangements? Hopefully, Abby won't be too disappointed to hear they've changed their minds. We're doing the right thing, Victor assures - trust me on this. Hanging up: Ashley looks worried.
Next: At the club, Billy kisses Vikki's hand - How can the best days of our lives be such a mistake? ... Cane - I'm not gonna stand by and watch you sacrifice yourself on some small chance the kids are gonna get hurt ... I'm an Abbott - and a Newman - and I will GET the money, Abby assures Ken.
My Thoughts: More foolish talk of an annulment - despite the lack of paperwork - and ignoring the mandatory 6 month waiting period (Vikki's divorce decree is less than 24 hours old) ... Why would Kevin appeal to Emily, a stranger - instead of the therapist who was so helpful to him in the past? And since when does Emily do pro bono work? ... What? Ashley needs 'practice' answering the telephone? ... Why was Abby even allowed in to conduct her press conference? Shouldn't security have given her the boot immediately? Looks like Victor's now had 2 out of 2 daughters pose nude for publication. Will the Pulitzer hungry Billy cover the story? Or will he ignore it because Abby's his niece? How exactly does Ashley plan to have legal 'handle' this - and she'll have the PR department do damage control? The 'protest' sure hit the airwaves in record time. And how slow of a news day is it - that Abby's little show gets billed as their 'top news story'? This COULD end up on the Internet? Gee - ya think Ashley? .... Maybe Ashley should have told her daughter about her new position as CEO - or held a press conference (so she and Victor wouldn't be surprised) .... If Emily's photo is 'plastered all over the news stand', why isn't the press hounding her? She doesn't seem to be hiding out - shopping bags in hand and with a new haircut ... Good that Emily got 'caught up' on the news of Jana's kidnapping - but how? No press have approached the Fisher's - or anyone else involved .... Why would Emily - a victim - be getting the cold shoulder when searching for a job? Isn't that cause for wrongful dismissal? And which lawyer told Lynn that she has cause to bring a lawsuit against Dr Peterson? Why does she assume Emily knew she was being stalked? Maybe she SHOULD have taken that bottle of pills (which she's not the least bit self conscious about announcing loudly in a busy coffee house) ... Doesn't appear that either Billy or Vikki are in any hurry to change the clothes they've been wearing for well over 24 hours. Odd that Reed didn't ask Mommy why she smelled like the beach ... Why is Tucker mistaking one bratty heiress for a 'bunch of wanna be hippies'? And since when is Abby such an animal lover? When was the last time she visited her million dollar pony? Walked Segundo? None of her clothes or purses are leather? She doesn't eat meat? None of the make up she wears is tested on animals? Does she know what the liptsick she's wearing is comprised of? ... If the press were tossed from Jabot by 'security', how did they make their way up the elevator and INTO the CEO's office ... Ashley claims Jabot has never tested on animals - but, unless I'm mistaken, decades ago, shots of her in the lab showed a rabbit in a cage .... Jack won't be able to 'help' Billy 'next time'? How exactly did he help him THIS time? Other than giving Billy a ride to the club - so he could continue to drink ... And how does Abby know all Jabot's secrets? Ashley's right about one thing - Abby's NOT a little girl anymore - she's a totally different 'woman' (who must have graduated from the same acting school as the last Abby) ...The whole vacation was 'practically' Vikki's idea? Odd - cause it looked like Billy did all the persuading - she did all the whining .... Line of the day goes to Billy (who at leat can tell the difference between his wives - between the sheets) ... Aww - how nice, Kevin got all the ingredients for Jana to make her favourite curry. So - he's expecting her to come home and cook dinner? Why would he need to crash on the Baldwin's couch? They have extra bedrooms ... Abby's off to CL's - to face her 'adoring public'? Yet no one but Victor and Ken speak to her ... If Reed's so damn 'heavy', why doesn't JT just let the kid walk - instead of always carting him around like a purse? ... If Ashley loves Abby as much as Tucker thinks she does, why isn't she at home with her? Abby's big plan is to play the lead in a 'reality show'? Does Mark Burnette know about this 'pilot' she's shooting? ... What change of plans have Victor and Ashley planned regarding Abby? Were they really gonna give her access to her sizeable trust fund? How would that 'alter her life in ways she can't imagine'? Why would they release the funds - if Princess obviously hasn't been able to save anything from her generous weekly allowance - and hasn't shown maturity by getting a job? Poor Billy still hasn't been allowed to access his trust fund - even when he wanted to buy a legitimate business (he borrowed the cash from Ashley). How old does Billy have to be before Jack will loosen the purse strings?
