*For some reason, the early broadcast aired yesterday's show - so I had to catch the late show. Hopefully they'll get back on track so I can resume the early recaps*
Over menus at the club, Kay can't shake the feeling that Jill's up to something. Oh look - there's Tucker (at the bar). A ha - Kay's the beard while Jill spies on Tucker. At the bar, Tucker's on the phone - badgering JT to dig up info on NE's deal with the Japanese company. Flashing back to learning of Vikki's marriage to Billy, JT will get back to him. Don't mess this up, Tucker warns - he wants to move quickly.
Ashley meets Tucker at the bar - acquiring Beauty of Nature WOULD be a great coup for Jabot - IF Victor was on board. Once Tucker has proof that Victor bribed Mitsakoshi (for exclusive rights to sell BoN) - he's sure Victor WILL negotiate. It's 'persuasion' - not blackmail. And being suspected of bribery himself - 30 years ago - is of no concern to Tucker. The Mitsakoshi deal is his insurance policy.
At home, Cane smiles at a text from Lily - then frowns over a legal envelope from Lily's attorney. Opening it, he finds Lily's last will and testament.
At the mausoleum, Mac's suspicious by Chloe's friendliness. Quite the party last night huh? Chloe admits she was shocked by the wedding video - and isn't Mac the tiniest bit upset that Billy's 'moving on?
Vikki wearing another of Billy's shirts, the newlyweds banter - and kiss - until Rafe's call updates that they don't need an annulment - the marriage wasn't legal (news which seems to disappoint Vikki).
Back at the mausoleum, Chloe continues to needle Mac on Billy's marriage to Vikki. Mac's fine with being just friends with Billy - but what about Chloe (who shares a child with Billy). Chloe's not buying Mac's support - but hey - could Billy and Vikki really be in love? Who knows? We'll just have to see how it plays out.
So - we were never married, Vikki agrees it was completely ridiculous anyway. There's plenty of strange laws - at least Victor will be happy. Vikki needs to do some damage control with JT (while Billy should go have a talk with Chloe - before her head explodes). After Billy mopes out, Vikki's left to pout.
Ridiculous! If Jill needed a 'beard', she'd have picked a hot young male - not Kay. Guessing Jill's doing another expose on Tucker, Kay warns her not to (as it could ruin any chance of her and Tucker having a relationship). At a nearby table, Tucker assures Ashley that he'll play fair with Victor. Ashley wants no part of it - or Jabot involved in anything illegal/. Tucker DOES have another option - Ashley can deliver Beauty of Nature.
Jill and Kay continue to bicker over Jill's motives (and lying). Sit DOWN! Jill better not even THINK about going over to say 'hello' to Tucker and Ashley. Meanwhile, Tucker lays out his alternate plan. Abby inherited shares in NE - she could use the holdings SHE controls to leverage a buy out of BoN). Jill takes a seat - wow - fancy running into you two. Making big plans?
JT shows up at the trailer - we need to talk. Meanwhile, at the mausoleum, Billy's taking grief from Chloe - about Delia's new step mommy. JT's ranting along the same line - where's Reed's new step daddy? Helluva a place you got here? Where will Reed sleep? Vikki and Billy both inform their exes that the marriage isn't legal. Yeah, well Billy's still a lousy role model for Delia.
Cane brings his large envelope to Jimmy's. No - he didn't know Lily was drawing up her will - or that she wants THEM to share custody if she dies. Since Mac has no legal rights to the babies, Cane wonders why Lily went behind his back.
Jill insists she was sincere in saying Tucker made a wise choice in making Ashley CEO of Jabot. Enjoy your lunch, Jill moves on.
Mac can't speak for Lily - but knows she wasn't happy about his stance on the stem cell treatment. She probably didn't want to upset you. Well, Cane IS upset (and marches out without further word).
While Billy thinks Chloe jealous, she gripes about his reckless Peter Pan complex. And what about his New Year's Eve wake up call. But wait - didn't the 'moral' Chloe trick Cane into marriage? Chloe can be fun AND an adult. Done with Chloe, Billy would like to see his daughter now.
JT continues to lecture Vikki (who hoped to spend more time with Reed). It all comes down to her judgment - or lack thereof. Vikki feels she's being punished. Taking a call, Vikki steps outside to talk business - leaving JT to come across a device - possibly a flashdrive?
Ashley's not comfortable with Tucker's proposal - it crosses the line - and could backfire on her. Tucker's only motive is to make Jabot a success. Well, if he expects Ashley to get involved in any of his dodgy schemes, there's gonna be big problems.
Vikki's back in the trailer to request more time with Reed. That'll be discussed that once they've cooled down, JT snaps. Outside the trailer, JT calls Tucker - he'll be right there (sounding like he has what Tucker wants).
As summoned by Mac, Kay arrives at Jimmy's. The bar reminds her of the good old days (if only she could remember them). Mac's fretting about the possibility of raising the babies - with Cane.
After leaving Lily a message, Cane welcomes Jill (then updates on the will's provision - Cane and Mac sharing custody of the babies). The worst part? Lily really thinks she's gonna die.
As Billy plays with Delia, Chloe her holier than thou spiel. Handing Delia over, Billy will come back when her 'not so nice' Mommy's not around. What was THAT all about? the lurking Esterm feather duster in hand, asks Chloe.
Sure Mac's honoured that Lily has that much faith in her - but why didn't she mention it to either her or Cane? Mac dreamt of handing the babies to the Ashby's - not Lily dying. You wouldn't want to help raise these babies if Lily dies? Kay poses a thoight provoking question.
While Jill thinks Lily's made a wise decision, Cane worries that she's going to die. She faces that reality every single day, Jill reminds - and she's made sure her children are taken care of - how can Cane fault Lily for that? Plus - you big dummy - maybe Lily plans to come home and raise her babies herself ~hug~ It's just what Cane needed to hear. Now alone, Cane gets a call from a weary (and bedridden) Lily. What did he need to speak to her about? It sounded important.
With the will in hand, Cane claims nothing's wrong - he and Humphrey are lonely is all. Lily's not sure when she'll be coming home - hopefully before the twins come. As Cane chokes back tears, Lily stifles a yawn. And after hanging up, Cane's looks even more depressed.
Of course Mac would help raise the babies - but she can't talk to Cane or Lily about it. Let's pray it never becomes an issue, Kay suggests.
Updated on Billy's drunken wedding, Ester scolds Chloe for calling Billy an idiot (with Delia on her knee) - then points out that they've both made mistakes too - remember Roger? Billy's a good father - that's all that matters. As Ester goes for brownies, Chloe wonders if she CAN just 'let it go'.
Back at the trailer, Billy and Vikki update one another on their exes lectures - at least that's over. Wanna celebrate the end of our non-marriage over beer? No - Vikki has work to do. It was fun - but never woulda worked. Should we shake hands or sumthin'? Good bye Mrs Abbott. Good Mr Newman. We really did dodge a bullet, Billy says - but looks glum after Vikki leaves.
When JT joins Tucker at the club, Ashley takes her cue to leave. What's JT got? Nothing. He's not going through with it. JT left NE because he couldn't (in good conscience) do what Victor asked him to do - he wants to be a man his son can look up to. Tucker's indignant - most people would kill for the opportunity he's giving JT. Yeah - well, JT won't do Tucker's dirty work. I like that kid, Tucker's left to mutter to himself. Watching him leave, Jill picks up the recorder she'd previously hidden under the table. And hearing Ashley's 'this crosses the line' spiel, grins - gottcha.
Next: Jana talks thru the bars - I don't think you belong in here. I don't think the rest of your family would agree, Ryder replies ... Victor goes to Jack - I need a pair of hands. For what? To dig up Adam's grave .... Having some sort of panic attack, Lauren shouts - as she throws something that shatters the large mirror.
My Thoughts: What's the big deal about Lily having her last will and testament drawn up? Shouldn't everyone who owns property, has a trust fund etc. designate who said inheritance should go to? ... Isn't there anything else of interest in Lily's will? Who's the executor of her will? Has she left her lingerie collection to the adoptive brother who once had the hots for her - or did she leave him enough money to kick start his music career? ... Shouldn't Lily have asked the single and free wheelin' Mac if she WANTS to be saddled with two babies she had no intention of raising? .... A lecture on morals and reckless behavior - from stellar 'role model' Chloe/Kate Valentine Ashby Abbott? Oh - but - that was 'a long time ago', she sniffs - then proceeds to call Delia's Daddy an 'idiot' in the tot's ear. Not to mention that SHE'S the one engaging in premarital sex just down the hall from her daughter's room .... What exactly has Jill 'got'? Couldn't Ashley likening Tucker to Victor - and saying he 'crossed the line' refer to anything other than Jabot business? Perhaps Tucker was asking Ashley for sexual favours that she felt 'crossed the line' ... Weird that Lily would use an unknown lawyer - instead of the all purpose Baldwin - and isn't opening mail addressed to someone else a federal offence? And why is Cane blabbing to Mac about Lily's personal will? Even tho it IS her business .... And who's Cane to whine about Lily keeping secrets? - He lied to her (and everyone else) for well over a year - Lily didn't even know the real name of the man she married ... Marriage isn't legal after 8pm in Jamaica? What about all those bride and grooms who dream of a sunset wedding? .... With all this talk of 'visitation' between the Hellstrum's, how come Billy and Chloe don't seem to have any set schedule? He basically pops by the mausoleum whenever he feels like it. And if Billy didn't feel like dealing with Delia's 'not so nice' Mommy, couldn't he have spent time with his daughter elsewhere? Pack up the stroller and go hang out at Trimble's - or CL's ... JT would have more right to be lecturing Vikki - IF he wasn't making out with Mac (with Reed either asleep in the next room - or in the back seat of his GTO at the drive in) - at least Vikki keeps her extracurricular activities away from her son ... Funny that both Vikki and Billy are able to receive calls on their cell phones today - while yesterday, the 'crappy trailer' had no reception .... Good that Ester remembers the mistake she made with Roger - but what about 'Tiny'? (who, if I'm not mistaken, impregnated Ester when his only goal was to get his hands on the Chancellor fortune - and didn't he kill Rex Sterling? Yet another man Jill and Kay shared) .... You'd think that Lily, in a hospital bed and exhausted - in France for cancer treatment, would forget about the wig. Who's she trying to impress?
