Still in his tux (in his hotel room), Victor accepts a delivery from the US - an aluminum briefcase - stuffed with wads o' cash. Meanwhile, Adam and Skye (now staying in the small fishing village) are having a little siesta (although Adam's is interrupted by sweet dreams - of Sharon). As Adam sits up, so does Skye - what is it?

Back in GC, Mike's at the courthouse - coaching Nick and Phyllis. Jack joins them, and Sharon (to announce that he has video proof that Skye's alive and well - gambling in Brazil). Victor plans to entrap Adam - and bring him back to clear Nick (who worries Sharon by doubting it'll happen).

In Liz's room, Kay's offer (via Murphy) of coffee and pastries is declined (and she won't go home - knowing Liz doesn't have long to live). As Jill goes for some air, Snapper's the one to go after her (and, in the lounge - wipes away her tears). Jill wonders if the obituary will list her as the 'adoptive' daughter - but now's not the time to 'get it all out' - their mother's dying.

Now taking a seat, Jill talks to Snapper of Liz never seeming old until she got cancer - and how she obsessed about her death. How can one really prepare? You can't, Snapper explains - as a doctor he's delivered the news to many families - and it's always like a punch to the gut. Greg joins his siblings - and soon all three are reminiscing (and laughing). Awakening to find Kay at her side, Liz hushes her up - let me talk.

IF Skye were the 'girlie' type she'd ask who Adam was thinking of - Sharon? Obsessing - and running scared aren't his style (she's sure this big poker game will give them enough money to live large). Adam's reluctant to return to Sao Paulo - where Jack is (and Victor might be). Let's start over NOW - get away as fast and as far as we can.

Jack explains that Victor's setting himself up as a rich 'pigeon' - Skye won't be able to pass up. Sharon worries - Adam has nothing to lose (making him dangerous). When Mike announces 'it's time', Nick and Phyllis exchange 'I love you's' - Jack offers encouragement - and Sharon delivers a teary hug (which wipes the smile right off Phyllis' face). About to head into the court room, Sharon gets a call - Victor needs her to get to Sao Paulo - ASAP.

Pomerance delivers his opening statement to the jury - how Nick Newman took the law into his own hand - killing a brave father battling cancer. A tragic case of mistaken identity. He prattles on about the evidence (which Phyllis tried to get rid of). Oh, he'll tell the jury all about Nick Newman alright - businessman, heir to an empire - and murderer.

In the hallway, Victor tells Sharon that he's flushing Skye out - but SHE can flush Adam out. Sharon's scared enough knowing he's out there - but to purposefully out herself in his path? Victor understands - and will protect her. Please - if not for him, for Nick. Please come ~click~ Coming outside, Jack's updated on Victor's request. No. Way, In Hell, he states emphatically.

Liz confides to Kay that she lied years ago (when telling them that Jill was hers) - needing someone to look out for Jill if she died. But, now that she's really dying, Liz can't have Jill left alone. Kay promises to look after her. She's not mad that Liz lied - in fact, she thanks (and loves) her for it.

In the lounge, both brothers assure Jill that she's their sister - end of story. Jill has two mother figures - but still wonders who her real mother is. Snapper seems ready to talk - this is probably the worst time to tell you this .... Kay appears to summon them - it's time.

In the hallway, Jack continues to rant about Victor using Sharon as bait (which Nick would never agree to either). But how can Sharon watch Nick get torn apart in there - knowing she could have helped him? Tell everyone I went to see Faith, she mopes out (leaving a relieved Jack to return for Mike's compelling opening statement to the jury). Nick Newman's a human being - not tabloid fodder - or a murderer - he was framed etc. etc. The evidence is unreliable - sloppy hearsay. The person who killed Richard Hightower is out there - somewhere - getting away with murder, literally.

In their hut, Adam's trying to get online - to find another place to lay low. Skye insists on going to the game - to make millions off this pigeon who doesn't know how to play. Luck? Won't be necessary - she's got a marked deck - and promises to bring home a fortune. Adam's finally convinced - go - win. No one will be able to touch us, Skye assures - not the law - the US government - not even Victor.

Still in his tux, Victor returns to the gambling house - to approach Mr Wang - is there a game he can sit in on? Try to win his money back? So what if the stakes are high - show me the way.

Skye has no plans to take the money and leave Adam behind - she'll occupy herself with cards (while he detoxes off the drug he's on - Sharon). Adam knows he needs to get over her - if she wins, they move on - his old life will be dead and gone.

Complete with flashbacks, Pomerance lays out his evidence - the jacket Phyllis tried to hide - Victor's broken watch - statements - Nick's 'elegant' pen. Mike objection to Pomerance's numerous references to Nick's wealth is sustained by the Judge (who then adjourns for the day). Team Nick stays behind to chat - Phyllis wishes Victor would call with good news.

After losing yet more money, Victor wrangles an invitation to Mr Wang's private game (to be held in his private railroad car). The buy in? 25 million. Victor will be there - hoping to recoup his losses.

Surrounded by Kay and her sons, a weak Liz talks of dying - after a good life. No mother has ever been prouder. She then says a few word loving words to everyone in the room. And to a sniffling Jill - you ARE my girl - sorry, but there's something I should have told you a long time ago ....

In the hallway, Jack tells Nick (and Phyllis) that Sharon went home to Faith. Victor tried to get her to Brazil, lure Adam. She feels she's letting Nick down by not going. As Jack predicted, Nick's against it. Jack wants Nick free as much as anyone - but Sharon can't walk through fire to make it happen.

Skye's not convinced that Adam's over Sharon - and can't relate to this whole 'heart on the sleeve' thing. Adam knows it's a fantasy - that's over. Yes, he IS ready to move on, and (despite his visions of Sharon standing in the room) - will prove it by having overly enthusiastic sex with Skye).

Liz apologizes to Jill - the baby she's always loved. Jill loves her Ma too - never mind all the horrible things she did and said. And as Jill's carrying on about a purple sweater, Liz dies (which causes a fresh flood of tears).

The sheet now placed over Liv, Jill begs for more time - and gets it. Cradling her mother's face, a weepy Jill kisses her cheek - thank you. As Liz is wheeled out, Kay invites the boys to the mausoleum. Left behind, Jill wonders what Snapper was going to tell her. What does she she have a right to know? Watching from the hallway, Kay and Greg see Snapper delivering some shocking news.

On the CL's patio, Phyllis colours with Summer. Yes, Daddy HAS been busy at work - but he'd LOVE to take his two girls on a trip to California (and expects his 'work' load to ease up very soon. 'Let's blow this cafe', the happy little Newman family packs up and exits.

Adam musta been pretty good - cause Skye thinks they've always been good together. Always, Adam agrees. Getting a call from Mr Wang, Skye snuggles with Adam in bed - telling him about the private game - it's all good (not if she could see the distracted expression on Adam's face).

At CL's, Jack's unable to reach Sharon (who's not at home or answering her cell). A dim light bulb goes off - oh Sharon, tell me you didn't, he sighs.

In his room, Victor locks money away in the safe - then receives a 'burn after reading' letter (with directions to the private poker game). Removing a lighter from his pocket, Victor does just that. The next knock on the door? Sharon ~hug~

At home, Lauren answers her door. Jill - you OK? Eyes glassy, Jill stares intently at a confused Lauren.

Next: Kay seems dubious of what Snapper's saying - I'm telling you the truth. I want Jill to have your support, he claims .... You stay in the shadows, I'll take the risk, Skye tells Adam. You take the risk - I'll take the cash, he replies ... Still in his hotel room, Sharon sits across the table from Victor - when do we start? The plan's already in motion, Victor tosses over a newspaper for her to read.

My Thoughts: How did Nick get to trial so early - what happened to jury selection process - giving Mike the opportunity to strike those who might be influenced by the tabloid's stories on his client? .... How nice that Kay thanks and loves Liz for her big fat lie (even though it caused her to have a stroke) - wonder whether Mac and Billy will be as forgiving. It WAS Liz's announcement that Jill was Kay's daughter - thereby making them cousins - that tore the young lovers apart ... OK - so Lauren and Jill are sisters - after the initial shock wears off - what drama is there in this? Will the ripple effect impact anyone else in GC? Not really. Unless I'm missing something, it makes Jill Fen's Aunt ... ties her somewhat to Gloria, Kevin etc. ... Lauren is Billy's Aunt ... and? So what? ... Liz really thought Jill and Kay would be good for one another (cause they sure weren't good TO one another) .... Oh look - Jack and Sharon have swapped places. She's in Brazil - and he's in GC. But - how is that possible? It's a ten hour flight. Even the briefcase made it all the way to Brazil in record time ... It's good Jill bank on her Mama living forever ... No - it's not perverse to fixate on someone's death (it's perverse to cause it) .... Oh poor Adam - how does it feel to be 'haunted' (that's what Sharon and Victor should do - mess with his sanity) ... Tough to find Adam? It's a long shot? Oh please - of COURSE you can count on Victor coming through in the 11th hour ... Kay can have Murphy bring over food and coffee from CL's - if they're 'tired' of hospital food? They've only been there a few hours - no one's eaten or drank anything ... See - that's what happens when you don't go to the chapel to pray - the sick person dies .... If Nick's so famous, why aren't any members of the media clamoring for info - why hasn't Billy sent anyone to represent RS? Nick's not even pestered at the coffee house. If Phyllis is to be called as a witness, why isn't she sequestered in a separate room - waiting to be called to the stand? Why isn't Nikki there? What could be more important than her son's trial? Wouldn't Hightower's sister in law - who's already made one trip to GC when summoned - be interested in seeing justice served for Richard - (who's death left her saddled with his young son)? Vikki's already delivered her 'gift' in Japan - looks like she's in no hurry to get home to support her brother (preferring to stay in Japan singing off key karaoke with Billy) ...... Knowing Sharon would come to Brazil as summoned, why didn't Victor just have HER deliver the briefcase of money? Victor will always protect Sharon? And Nick? He's done a stellar job thus far - and why isn't Sharon clucking about not needing a man to protect her? ..... Of course Mr Wang's private poker game will be held on his private railroad car. Will it be in motion? Will Victor and Adam be hopping car to car on a moving train? Cause if that's the case, Victor should paint a canvas - to look like a tunnel - then hang it on the side of a mountain - and hop off before impact (hey - it always worked in the Wylie Coyote cartoons) .. Of course Victor would have a lighter in his pocket. Idiot - he thinks the 'burn after reading' instructions refer to his hand. No fire detectors in Brazil? Hopefully they have em in Japan - with all those paper walls n stuff.
