At the courthouse, Jill mopes to the supportive Mike about losing her wonderful mother - and then learning about her real parents. Mike won't mention anything about Lauren being her half sister - today's about Mac and Cane (who then arrives to offer condolences). No, Cane's not having second thoughts - and hopes the Judge will force Mac to provide amniotic fluid. How can a man give up the woman he loves? Regardless of how Lily will react, he MUST do this. Jill then leaves Cane to consult with his lawyer (who can't assure him he'll win). If not - Cane fears he may lose his wife.
At CL's, JT's on Mac's side - but there shouldn't even BE sides. Today's crucial - for the babies and Lily.
Malcolm and Neil chat in the courtroom hallway - too bad Lily's too sick to be there - but should they have told her? No - there's nothing she can do. Neil prays the Judge dismisses the case - and the fragile Lily never has to know. But it could save her life, Malcolm debates. Yeah - but even if Cane wins, Lily may choose NOT to use the stem cells. OUR little girl is dying - there's heartache ahead no matter what happens today, Neil concludes.
An officer brings Frank Ellis in for a chat. Heather and Chance inform him that the distrusting DA's not willing to offer a deal for his info - but imply he could be moved to a more comfy prison (if he coughs up some details). Frank confided that lots of folks they work with - aren't who they think they are.
Cardboard box in hand, Kevin lets himself into a suite at the club - and is almost as stunned as Jana and Ryder (to find the pair making out in bed). Jana! My God - what are you doing here!? Jana squawks - there WASN'T anything on with Ryder (THEN). Throwing his pants on, Ryder's apology is rewarded with a quick left hook. Holding his nose, Ryder cowers on the bed with Jana - as Kevin looks at the pair in utter disgust.
Arms folded, Pomerance looks skeptical as Frank explains how drugs go from cops to the guards - to the prisoners. That's what Riggs (the middle man) was gonna tell Chance the night he died. Hmm - that explains a lot. Wanting a detailed list of transactions BEFORE any deal's offered, Pomerance is told to go to hell. Chance asks for a moment alone with the 'not very bright' Ellis - he and Ms Stevens will back him - but he's gotta give me something concrete.
Mike's confident - but warns Neil 'there's no guarantees'. Devon then arrives to say Lily sounded terrible when they spoke yesterday - that's why he's supporting Cane's bid to save her. S'OK son, Neil watches Devon go shake Cane's hand. Malcolm and Jill both hate what this is doing to the family - they're all fighting for Lily (in their own way). Jill does indeed 'go tell that' to Malcolm's brother - can't they work it out? This is Cane's doing, Neil reminds - HE and Mac are Lily's advocates. Neil then goes to hug and apologize to Mac (who arrives with JT). Making a beeline for Cane. Mac says it's not too late to end this - respect her and Lily's wishes. Sorry - Cane can't - he'll do anything humanly possible to save Lily.
Tying her robe, Jana gets Ryder a towel. She knows Kevin's upset - but he shouldn't have hit Ryder (when it's HER he's really upset with). Kevin's got plenty of 'upset' to go around. Shut up! he barks at Ryder - then explains how and why he got the room key. Get the hell out of here! Kevin orders Ryder - who leaves the Fisher's to talk.
Heather objects to the DA playing 'hard ball' - the DA objects to dealing with snitches. Meanwhile, Chance believes Frank - but wants names. No way - Frank could end up dead - like Riggs - if he rats, he can't go back. When the DA comes back to put a stop to the meeting, Frank's lead off making noise about it being the DA's fault (if anything happens to him). Alone, Heather and Chance try to convince the DA to deal with Frank.
On the stand, Cane talks of his gratitude for Mac (she talks of her vow to protect the babies). Cane testifies to Lily's condition - and how adult stem cells aren't working. Stem cells from her own babies are Lily's last chance to survive. As all watch on, both Mac and Cane continue to make compelling cases. Mike approaches the bench - to file a motion for dismissal. Quietly addressing both lawyers, the Judge knows Lily's situation is grave - and feels risk to the babies and surrogate is minimal - she'll review the case tonight - and isn't against setting precedent (by ruling in Cane's favour). Assisted by Liv, Lily rushes in - please, tell me I'm not too late.
Lily and Dr Liv are introduced. The Judge will allow her to testify - but first a recess so Lily can hug everyone - then placing her hands on Mac's belly, tells the babies she loves them. Devon and Dr Liv scold Lily for coming - and how did she find out? Jill called her.
Arriving at the club, Heather's nervous - but feels safe with Chance (who also disagrees with the DA - and believes Frank's story). He's so scared, he's gonna stop talking. Chance MUST find out who, in his department, is selling drugs. They can't trust ANYONE.
Kevin DOES accept that the marriage is over. But her getting involved with Ryder's a bad idea - she's playing with fire. You don't know him the way I do, Jana claims - after being numb, she now feels emotion. Kevin's sure she's being conned - used. He just wants to help her. Jana cares about Ryder - and wants to be with him. Kevin takes a few deep breaths - blinks away tears - nods - you're falling for my brother.
Jill explains to the angry mob why she called Lily (who had a right to know) - they're all going about it the wrong way - nobody deserves to be lied to. You'd regret it, she assures them all. You can't hide something of this magnitude. Mac quietly tells a puzzled JT that Liz died yesterday. While Lily's glad Jill had the guts to speak up, Cane hopes she understands why he did this.
Of all the guys in GC ... Ryder?! Yeah - he's the only one who's not pressured Jana. He kept you locked in a cage, Kevin reminds - almost killed you. How could she feel anything but contempt?! Is he a stallion in bed? Kevin scoffs - fine - be with that scum - do NOT come crying to him when Ryder screws her over. They then argue about the funding of Prince Charming staying in the lap of luxury. Jana will pay Kevin back for both the rooms. They better vacate soon - Kevin's NOT paying for any of this (and out he slams).
Finding Heather's room turned upside down, Chance leaves her at the door while (gun pulled) he searches the room. 'They're gone' - but sent a message - Heather's not safe - they can get to her in her car - her room - anytime, anywhere they want.
While Kevin's downstairs, at the bar, drowning his sorrows in double vodka's, Ryder and Jana talk of how much pain they've caused Kevin - but no, Jana's not ending it - she wants Ryder.
Back in Pomerance's office, Heather and Chance are sure that someone was after Heather's files - and further proves Frank's story. The DA's not sure it's related. Our lives are in danger - let US handle it. The DA refuses - but will move Heather to an apartment. He's no hard ass - and doesn't want anything to happen to either of them. This IS something big - so - he's assigning another detective to the case. Chance isn't impressed (but assured he'll like his new partner). This could be a good thing, Heather agrees.
Mac gives Jill her condolences - she didn't feel it was her place to call Lily - but no, she's NOT saying it wasn't Jill's place either - telling Lily was the right thing to do. Jill appreciates her support - and hopes Cane comes around.
In the hallway, Lily chides Cane for keeping her in the dark - but knows his heart was in the right place (and that he loves her). Cane's heart is breaking - for Lily - and the babies. No more looking back - Lily's done some soul searching. You've changed your mind? Cane sounds hopeful. Back in the courtroom, the Judge is now ready to hear from Lily.
Cuddling on the couch, Ryder feels bad for Kevin - but is glad it's all out in the open. Jana wishes he didn't find out the way he did (and doesn't want to share a room). It's not going 'too fast' - they can barely afford one room. Ryder will handle it - it's his turn to take care of Jana ~kiss~
Back at the bar, Kevin's happy to see Allison (the blind date Gloria set up for him). Yes - his wife came back. But - they split up. Allison's sorry - there's no hope? Not a shred - and Kevin would LOVE some company.
Detective Rogan Malloy is introduced to Heather and Detective Philip Chancellor - who goes by 'Chance'. Shaking hands, the cocky newcomer thinks 'Phil' might change his mind (on looking forward to working with him). No worries - I've got your back now. (Chance looks ill - Heather forces a smile)
Taking the stand, Lily tells the Judge that the adult stem cells and chemo didn't work. They've done all they can - but Lily feels even more strongly in her decision (that Mac can't have the amnio) - she won't risk her son or daughter. If she's gonna die - she needs to be at peace - and that can only happen if Cane and their babies are together.
Next: Talking to Kay, Mac seems to be torn - I was SURE that I was doing the right thing for the babies - but now she thinks she's made a horrible mistake ... You're talking about a father I adored, Lauren speaks emphatically (Mike at her side) to Jill - if he had another child, I'm not gonna keep that silent .... Are you sure you want me? Tucker shakes his head (like he misunderstands). At the meeting right now, Ashley clarifies.
My Thoughts: No - Kevin doesn't know Ryder the way Jana does - cause that'd be sick - even for this show .... Don't be mean, Jana sighs. Come ON - your husband just walked in to find his wife in bed with his brother - he could have called you a lot worse names than Ryder's 'hot new toy' - he called you 'hot' - some, OK a few, might even call it a compliment. He WILL screw you over, Kevin rants - um - well, yeah ... At some point between the club and the station, did Chance and Heather notify the club's management that some clean up would be needed in Heather's suite? What's up with this new Detective? And why would Pomerance think 'Phil' would like working with the arrogant cop? And why didn't Chance make it clear that he doesn't go by 'Phil' .... What? There's no precedence set for forcing two women to submit their bodies (and that of unborn babies) to medical procedures both are strongly against? Odd that the press aren't interested in that story? Former model (who at least managed to look frail - if not like she's dying of cancer) - a Chancellor heir (DNA be damned) - world famous photographer (who hasn't taken a photo since Emily Peterson's bridal shots). Again Restless Style missed a story in their own backyard (while Billy's cavorting out of the country with Vikki) ... Yeah - it was a real 'blessing' that Jill and her brothers could bid Liz a fond farewell - even if they didn't stick around long enough to hold any kind of service - or even take the time to reminisce over lunch at the club in her honour ... The club's hotel staff readily hand over room keys to any estranged spouse shows up with a cardboard box of mail and forgotten belongings? (never mind those who're infamously unstable) Unless Kevin's name is on the bill, there's no way he should have been given a key to Jana's room - he shoulda had to steal if off the housekeeping cart like everyone else. But really - why IS he paying for the place his brother's 'rydin' his wife? And how does Ryder plan to pay for the room(s)? I assume his illustrious career as a cashier at Trimble's book store is .... It WAS very nice of Kevin to sit around while Jana washed the Ryder off herself - got dressed - complete with jewelry - then did her make up and hair ... Lily can't know about the hearing? It could devastate her? Hello - she's DYING? Does get much more devastating than that ... Frank 'hadn't heard' about the ADA almost being blown up in her car? That's odd - cause the scene happened right outside a very busy coffee house - you'd think it'd be all over Youtube - if not the local newspapers (especially if the Naked Heiress was in the hood) .. Oh, you're not a hard ass Pomerance - you're an arrogant ass (and if Chance is 'green', why was he made a Detective as soon as he joined the force? ... Jill knows it must be tough being caught between a husband and wife that way? Guess she'd know (along with the Bardwell's - Kay and Philip)
