In the jail's visiting room, Nick tells Vikki why he was re-arrested. The Newman's have been in court enough to have law degrees (which they don't give out for criminal injustice). Damn Adam - he's a genius. But wait til Dad gets a hold of him.
Mr Wang need not introduce Victor to Skye - they are 'acquainted' and 'travel in the same circles'. And as Mr Wang announces the game, all take a seat at the table (Skye fiddling with the deck of cards in her lap).
Adam! Sharon gasps. Don't look so surprised, he barges in and locks the door- isn't that why Sharon's there? To find him? Yes - she was afraid she'd never see him again.
Due to her low immune system, Lily won't be able to witness the twins being born via C-section. Kay arrives at GCM - oh good - everyone's there (including JT and the Winter's). Billy gives Mac a kiss on the head - and as all file out with 'I love you's' and 'good luck', Mac's feeling no pain (thanks to a wonderful invention called an epidural). Cane's in scrubs - and with a kiss for Lily, will see Mac in the operating room. Lily and Mac are excited - You're gonna be a Mom! I'm gonna be a Mom!
As everyone waits in the lounge, Billy and JT have a chat - who knew the old high school pals would be there to see Mac have babies that don't belong to either one of them - or to her? They then talk of Reed - Delia - and how wonderful it is that Lily will get the chance to be a parent too.
Seated nearby, Lily's reassured by Kay - God knows what he's doing. Liv's off visiting Lily's grandparents - to deliver the bad news (that treatment in France didn't work). All, except Lily, are optimistic when hearing the babies stem cells will be harvested during the delivery. And as Kay looks to the heavens - 'good work, keep it up', Neil hugs Lily.
Vikki explains she was in Japan shoring up their arrangement with Mitsogushi. Tucker McCall was there(with Ashley) - but he won't be able to 'horn in'. The gift Vikki presented was rewarded with a signed contract - for the next few years. McCall and Ashley must have been there on Jabot business.
In the private railroad car, the poker game continues. Victor's sorry Adam couldn't be with them. Skye claims he moved on - the heat was too much for him. Huh? Sharon's here? No - Adam did NOT tell her. Looking shaken by that news, Skye folds her hand. Victor seems to be doing well this time.
Adam guesses that Victor (the vigilante) brought Sharon down as bait - right? Like at the cabin? When his father ambushed him? Damn right 'that won't happen again' - Adam won't let it. But he's wrong in thinking Sharon's feelings for him are 'long gone' - though she wishes to God they were. In fact, that's why she's here.
Back at GCM, Devon leaves Malcolm to express regret over the way things have been since he came back to GC. He just loves Lily so much. He's not apologizing - he's committing (to be there for the babies as he wasn't there for HER). Just be the fun Uncle Malcolm Lily loves (wants, and needs) - as will her babies ~hug~
Meanwhile, Kay talks of Lily looking frail - but being strong. And now she's about to become a mother. She'll have Mac for support. She's part of the family, Neil agrees - the jury's still out on how helpful Malcolm will be. But Neil loves his old/new boss - who's never steered him wrong.
Billy and JT's civil chat continues - 28 weeks ago Billy opposed his girlfriend having Lily's babies - and now she's JT's girlfriend. JT admits that Reed does indeed like Mac - and has no problem with Billy seeing more of Reed (but not in an expose in RS). Whoa no - Billy'd never do that - his mother would kill me.
Back in the visiting room, Vikki reports staying at the same hotel as Tucker and Ashley. JT may have tipped off his boss - or not. When Vikki lets it slip that Billy was there, Nick scowls n' scolds - you never shoulda gone through with that meeting.
Back in Sharon's room, she talks of the lies Adam's told - how can she possibly know he ever loved her (when everyone says he used her)?? Adam insists he did love Sharon. She's torn - our wedding night - making love - how could it all have been a lie? Oh, the times she's replayed his words in her head. She came down to look him in the eye - and here we are. What was that? Adam hears a noise in the hallway. Nothing, Sharon snaps (a little too quickly). Please don't go, she pleads - grabbing his arm. What kind of game are you playing? Adam's suspicious.
Taking a break from the game. Victor pours Skye a drink - she's a clever woman - it'd be in her best interest to tell him where Adam is. Victor knows he didn't 'take off' after Sharon's call (from HER reaction that Sharon's in Brazil) - and he'd never leave all this money behind. Skye's threat to tattle to Mr Wang falls flat. How do you know he's not in on it? The winner takes all? No - the winner takes Adam, Victor mumbles.
Another game in progress, Skye's holding two aces and three 8's. The Judge is all in at $800K. Wang too. Victor raises - half a million. Skye calls - full house. I'll be damned - all 8's and aces - a dead man's hand. In this case, the dead man's a winner - unless Victor has 4 of a kind. It's all yours, Victor claims (though he's holding 4 jack's). Looking smug, Skye again fiddles with the cards in her lap.
See? Nobody here, Sharon throws open the hotel room door. She's going to the airport (to meet Victor) - and Adam's coming with her - to turn himself in. You can't live a life on the run - with all that guilt. Adam denies he killed Hightower - or caused the explosion. He'd never jeopardize Sharon or Faith. Then come home - clear your name, Sharon implores. Adam knows no one will believe him - he won't get a fair trial. He's NEVER going back to GC.
Frustrated, Nick paces a bit - Vikki's making Billy (the sleazy gossip monger) 'his business' by jeopardizing NE business. What if Billy tells his sister about this 'confidential transaction'? If this gets out... Vikki gets all insulted - next crisis she'll sit on the couch and eat bon bons - NICK can handle it - from his prison cell (tap tap - guard!) Vic.... Vic... Nick's calling out - as the door closes behind her.
Adam paces - strokes his beard - this was a mistake. Sharon won't let him leave - he risked his freedom to see her (which means he can't let go either). He's the one man who's loved her the way she needs to be loved. Adam would do anything if he thought there was a chance .... In tears, Sharon doesn't want this to be 'good bye'. You can't even kiss me, Adam pulls away - you're trembling. You'd say anything to save your precious Nick. No - Sharon's trembling because she's afraid - of believing in Adam again. Has he no idea how much he's hurt her - how hard it is to trust him? If he could be the man she loved, married - the man she thought he was, she WOULD stand by him!
Victor and Skye continue to play - shoving chips into the middle of the table. Skye deals Victor three cards - takes two herself. Victor shoves another few piles in - never taking his eyes off Skye. 5 million - more than Skye has. Fold or go 'all in' - including the chip that's NOT on the table, Victor challenges. All in, Skye pushes her chips - and lays out four of a kind - smiling smugly at Victor (yet to reveal his cards).
Who's hungry (and needs helium filled balloons, flowers and candy cigars)? Cause Devon and Malcolm are back (after buying out the hospital's gift store). Why, there's even have a pretty tiara for Kay. Cane bounces out grinning - at Lily.
Cane fills everyone in as Mac's wheeled out smiling - it went great - the babies are tiny (and being tended to) - the doctor's are optimistic. All beam as Lily thanks Mac (who's glad she's around for it). The umbilical chord blood? It's being sent to the lab - marked 'urgent'. JT and Billy praise Mac for saving two lives - maybe three - not bad for a day's work. Grandpa's Neil and Malcolm congratulate one another. Ready to meet your babies? the nurse comes along to ask a smiling Lily.
As Victor sips his drink, Skye calls Adam - I won - we'll have everything we ever dreamed of. Great - meet me at the spot ~click~ Adam then tells Sharon he's expected elsewhere. But believe this - the truest thing about him is his love for Sharon - it's never wavered - only grown stronger. Strong enough to do what's right? Sharon gives him a teary hug (which he finally caves in and returns). Let's go now, she pleads - together. Foolishly turning around to call for a taxi, Sharon turns around to find the room empty - the door open. Adam!? she races into the hallway (which is also empty).
In the nursery, the twins are doing well - in incubators attached to monitors. Mac's wheeled over to join everyone for the moment they've all been waiting for. Vikki joins the crowd too - they're perfect, she smiles (discreetly taking Billy's hand). Ecstatic, Cane and Lily babble to their son - almost 3 lbs - and then their daughter. Cane then flips on the intercom - and introduces the audience to their little miracles; Charlie and Matilda Ashby ~applause~
Still in the visiting room, Nick leaves a message for Sharon - hoping she's on a plane by now. Faith's with Nikki - come home soon - hopefully with Adam (cause it sure would be nice to get out of jail).
Skye comes running along the sand - shoes in one hand - tossing a bag of cash with the other. Kiss me - I'm brilliant! And rich! Both are excited to escape Brazil - just as soon as the Judge comes through with their new identities. And here's his chopper now - but wait - who's this? Victor and Sharon are with the Judge. Run, Adam pushes Skye. She lied to you, Sharon marches over to blurt out. Flashback to Victor beating Skye with a Royal Flush. How did Victor do it? Easy - he's a better cheat than Skye is. And now it's time for the truth - and Adam's coming with him to tell it. Adam's smile is now upside down.
Next: I'm in trouble with the DEA - and I need your help, Emily implores of her brother, Jamie .. Ready for the truth? Jill asks. Do it, Lauren nods - as Jill rips into the envelope .. Kill me, Adam - you're up for an execution aren't you Sharon? Adam's fearless. You're coming with me Adams, Victor repeats.
My Thoughts: Run Skye run! Adam gives her a lame shove. Run to where? Even with her shoes off, Skye can't outrun a helicopter ... After being out of the country for days, why isn't Vikki with the son she was so devastated about losing custody of? ... Oh yes - Kay's new tiara is so very pretty - and looks just like the one Billy bought for Delia (that wound up on Vikki's head at the airport bar) ... One thing that's 'obvious' is that Adam never loved Sharon? The only thing obvious is that Adam's grown a beard - the rest is open to interpretation ... If Sharon knew nothing about the loud banging in the hallway (which it seems she didn't) - why did she sound so guilty and unconvincing when she quickly snapped 'it's nothing'? Luckily she did a better acting job when claiming to still have feelings for Adam (cause I'm still not sure if she was lying to make Adam stay - or really not over the man who watched her grieve over the baby he gave to another woman). Great idea Sharon - Adam can get a fair trial by changing venues (like accused murderers get to pick) - and getting a great lawyer. Like who? Neither Mike or Rafe are likely to defend him. How about - um - I dunno - Eric Roberts? Yup. Another sibling of a famous actor will soon be making an appearance in GC ... Vikki 'always' stays at the same hotel in Japan? Who knew she was such a frequent traveler to Japan. You'd think she'd be a bit better at karaoke ... Another fine show - this one sappy AND suspenseful (though I knew right away that Adam wasn't gonna be there by the time Sharon shut up, hung up and turned around - and there was never any doubt that Victor would win the game) ... What kind of dog and pony show/poker game is Mr Wang running anyway? Really? No one could tell that Skye was playing cards from her lap? Couldn't Mr Wang have provided a more uncommon brand of playing cards? Perhaps taken his rich ass to a print shop and had some specially monogrammed cards made up? Victor cheated too? How so? Where was he hiding HIS deck? What were the guys in the white gloves doing while all this cheating was occurring? Cause they weren't doing security - or serving drinks - the bar was self serve ... Is it wise to drink alcohol while gambling for such large amounts of money? With Victor shoving random piles of chips into the middle of the table - where they promptly toppled over - how did Skye even know Victor was betting 5 million? .... Kindly open this briefcase, Victor instructs Mr Wang - huh? A briefcase with millions of dollars and it's not even locked? ..... The Judge really needed to hold that guy's hand to exit the helicopter? TGVN woulda jumped onto the sand ... Too bad Lily can't see the twins being born - cause it's 'open surgery' - but why didn't anyone think to strap a camcorder to Cane's forehead? Where's Abby and her camera crew when you need em? ... Mac sure looks bright and alert - considering she's just delivered twins. You'd think she'd be in some discomfort. Considering the C-section was supposed to be 'urgent', they sure wasted a lot of time clogging up GCM's hallway. Good luck to anyone trying to wheel a patient into the emergency room - with half the town loitering about ... Congrats to Mac - it's been a while since she's saved a life - and now she's got 3 in one day ... Nice that Billy and JT were cordial with one another - especially considering the circumstances (Billy sleeping with JT's wife - JT with Billy's ex wife) Of everyone there, JT must be the most relieved to see Mac deliver the twins - maybe now he can have a sex life too (and eat something other than pizza with anchovies) .... Kay finds it difficult to see Lily so 'frail'? Obviously she's never seen someone dying of cancer - of wait - she just watched Liz die .... Sometimes God 'goes rogue' when he answers prayers? Maybe that's cause Kay's rarely on bended knee in a church when she's calling in favours. Dr Liv really had to fly out to give Lily's grandparents the bad news - wonder if anyone will think to pass on the good news .. Oh good - everyone's here, Kay announces - apparently forgetting about Murphy. Is he fishing? Lodge meeting he can't get out of? Anyone think to call Jill? Roxy?.... Charlie and Matilda? I guess the retro names will fit in quite nicely at the Ashby's old fashioned style home. Odd that Lily named her first son after a man she only knew a few months before he died - and I guess Matilda is a nod to Waltzing Matilda (the unofficial anthem of Australia - usually sang loudly and off key by beer chugging rugby players) - I'd have bet Victor's 5 mill. that one of em would be named Dru.
