Now home, Jack updates Emily and Paul - Nikki held her own on the stand - Phyllis - not so much. Jamie? Emily can't guarantee he'll turn himself in. You don't trust me? Jamie saunters in - let's do it (since he's been clean for 24 hours). Jamie's too humiliated to get a drive to the station from Emily - but accepts one from Paul. Emily's so proud ~hug~ and it's all thanks to Paul - a Godsend. Patty's lucky to have him.

In the psych facility, an incident with a fellow patient (who drops her 'baby') causes a nurse to comment on the improvement in Patty (who credits her doctor with helping her accept reality). But - she's lonely (and misses seeing a familiar face.

Victor and Sharon sit across from Adam - on a private jet. Upon landing a car's waiting to whisk them off to the courthouse (where Adam's to confess to the murder of Richard Hightower). No way - Adam didn't kill Hightower - evidence, schmevidence

At the phone, Nikki's on the phone with Vikki - assuring her there's no need for her to go to the courthouse. Hanging up, Phyllis updates that Faith's asleep - Summer's out for dinner. Yeah, Phyllis COULD use a rest - and feels she could be the reason Nick goes to jail (thanks to her testimony - and dumping the jacket). Yes - she IS always trying to help Nick - but her best just isn't good enough.

In the courtroom, Nick's also worried about Phyllis testimony. If his own wife thought him guilty - what will a jury think? Forget the character witnesses scheduled, Nick insists on taking the stand in his own defense.

Back at the Abbott mansion, Emily beats herself up - what kind of neglectful sister (and psychiatrist) has an addicted brother. When Jack assumes Jamie pushed her to the limit, Emily simpers - oh Jack - you always know the right thing to say.

Adam and Victor argue his guilt - or innocence. Victor knows why Adam donated bone marrow to a stranger - to set up his brother. That sounds crazy, Adam's sarcastic. As Victor goes to chat with the pilot, Sharon tries to persuade Adam to stop lying - tell the truth.

The courtroom still empty, Mike reminds Nick that he advises he NOT take the stand. Nick will fire Mike if he has to - please don't make me. Mike reminds of Phyllis' testimony - what if HE gets angry - or tricked - what if the DA asks about finding Adam with Sharon and Faith. Nick stands firm - it's his risk to take.

Nikki knows there's more than Phyllis botching her testimony - but there's more. Is it Sharon? Nick's anxiety? Bingo - he's always anxious about Sharon - and Phyllis doesn't know what to do anymore. Even the housekeeper knows Nick would do anything to protect Sharon. She's always questioning her marriage. Marriage isn't easy, Nikki claims (and she'd know). Yeah, well, Phyllis is exhausted. You're thinking of leaving him? Nikki wonders.

Putting her artwork aside, Patty's delighted when Paulie visits (with vague reasons for not having done so earlier) ~hug~ Back at the mansion, Emily hates to ask for another favour - and is thrilled that Jack's already arranged for Baldwin to represent her - on his tab. No need for thanks - but Emily rewards Jack with a kiss anyway.

Phyllis continues to whine about Nick making Sharon such a big part of their marriage. Yeah, Sharon will always be in Nick's life - because of the kids - blah blah blah. Nikki assures that Nick will always come home to Phyllis and Summer. Phyllis appreciates and understands that - but look at the game she and Victor have been playing for years. It's like Nikki is Victor's 'end game' - but Sharon, not Phyllis, is Nick's.

On the jet, Adam plans to tell the truth. He holds all the aces - they play his way. He mentions Sharon's reaction when thinking Adam was being shot at - and once she hears his testimony, she may not think him a lost cause after all.

Oh look - Nick's on the stand - denying to Baldwin that he wanted Adam dead. No, he didn't accidentally kill Hightower, Nick turns to the jury - no matter how angry, he'd never take someone's life. Uh oh - now it's Owen's turn. Nick's asked about the kidnapping (not 'intervention') of Adam.

Paul admires Patty's art - which helps her relax and focus. He passes along a good report from the doctor - it shows that she's working hard. Patty asks about Dr Peterson - is she in trouble over the prescription pads? No - it's all been straightened out. Good - she's suffered enough - Patty hopes things are turning around for Dr P.

Jack can't believe he's saying this - but it's not right. Hmm - feels right to Emily. Jack meant it when he said no strings (and doesn't want misguided gratitude).

Phyllis knows Nick loves her - but honestly - he never got over breaking up his family with Sharon. Ironically, that's what keeps them together (Nick's reluctance to break up another). But Phyllis is tired of coming in second. Nick's loyal, Nikki clucks. No worries - Phyllis won't do anything until the trial's over - her life's on hold (and her priority is to get Nick home).

As Owen prattles on about how Nick's fury towards his brother - whom he killed in the club's basement, Mike shouts over him with 'Your honour! Objection! The Judge warns that both attorney's better control themselves. Objection overruled, Owen apologizes - and asks if Nick conspired to torture Adam. Nick won't be railroaded by this SOB who hates his family. As Nick's found in contempt, his eyes widen - flashbulbs go off - the paparazzi hangs on every word - as Victor walks in with Adam Wilson (the man who really murdered Hightower)

The picture of childish innocence, Patty knows she shouldn't have helped Adam escape the hospital - but she was so scared. Paul knows she didn't mean to 'hurt anyone'. She has the biggest heart of anyone he knows. Now, who's this? Patty giggles at the photo on Paul's phone - Kitty Kitty (who's really grown on him). Patty's confused about the two Adam's... Never mind - it's history. But Patty's been having nightmares - sometimes about Jack - but sometimes about Adam. Adam haunts a lot of people, Paul replies.

Sharon joins Phyllis - they'll be out of her hair as soon as Faith wakes up. No problem, Phyllis' snips - arms folded. Unable to reach Victor, Nikki's off to the courthouse (hearing he brought Adam). Hoping that Nick will be released, Phyllis knows that Sharon would 'do ANYTHING' to help Nick.

Nick still on the stand, Mike and Owen argue over whether Adam should be allowed to testify. Mike has evidence that was thrown out because Adam couldn't be cross examined - now - he can. The Judge will hear Mr Wilson - who Mike then calls. Just answer, Victor grunts as Adam shuffles off. Hand on the bible (and all eyes on him) Adam promises to tell the truth.

Emily interrupts Jack's snack to continue discussing misplaced gratitude. God knows he doesn't want to destroy another relationship (regardless of the fact that he stays friends with all his exes). Emily kissed the man she fell in love with - the one who took her ice skating and caroling. Jack's one of the best people Emily knows - a thoughtful, loving man. Yeah - but a man who didn't know he was holding Patty in his arms (a fact he knows she's not past yet).

Patty tells Paul about her nightmares of Adam - and Zapato - Phyllis (in her wheelchair) - she wanted to warn her that Adam wanted to strangle her. She tore off his mask - to find red devil eyes. Adam threatened to ruin Patty's life if she told on him. Adam will never hurt you again, Paul rocks Patty in his arms.

Phyllis seems awfully curious as to how it felt to see Adam (who Sharon now feels she's over - cause she got 'closure'). Phyllis marvels that Adam (like every other man) can't get over Sharon. Yeah? So? What can Sharon do? Shave her head? Phyllis concludes there's only one man for Sharon - and we all had to learn the hard way.

As Mike prods, Adam wants to be called Adam Newman Jr - a name he legally reclaimed. Fine, Mike talks of Mr Wilson sabotaging a future DNA test (by murdering someone similar to him). Adam groans, then starts to panic - where's Sharon? - I can't breath - this is like the cabin. Don't lock me up - I'll kill myself - I didn't do anything! Gripping Victor's arm, Nikki's assured that it's all an act (as Adam's lead off protesting his innocence - and vowing to kill himself).

Patty sends her good brother off - to pass on her best to Mom, her brothers (who'll be so thrilled to hear she's doing well). Paint more pictures - I love you, the siblings part smiling.

Emily admits she's been furious with Jack - for not being able to tell he was with Patty - but understands his intentions were good (and that he was manipulated him). Em's grateful Jack saved her life. Time to move on. How? Jack wonders. Move on from Patty - she has no part in their future. Jack couldn't agree more (as Emily leads him upstairs).

Phyllis won't say that Sharon's 'scheming' to get Nick back - but she clearly wants him (as it's written all over her face every time she sees him). She also knows that Nick will be grateful that Sharon went to Brazil and saved the day (and that she should shut her mouth right now). Sharon the heroine, she taunts. Sharon decides to grab Faith - tell Nick if he wants to see Faith or talk to me - call. Oh - we both know he will, Phyllis is left to sigh.

Victor, Nikki, Mike and Nick confer - Adam was lucid on the plane - this is an act. With Adam's mischievous mind, who knows what he's up to now.

Wrestled down the hallway of the psych. ward, Adam struggles with the orderlies - don't lock me up!!!!! Hearing him, Patty pauses - paint brush in mid air.

Next: How would you like to go into business with me, Abby invites Tucker (who looks at her like she's grown horns) ... We ARE engaged, Chloe beams at Chance's side. No! Nina looks devastated - no, please don't tell me ... Paul asks Heather if she's falling for her bodyguard....

My thoughts: Oh YEAH - Mom, Father Todd and Steven will be over the moon that L'il Patty's doing so well - and pigs'll fly over the moon before they come out to visit her .... Orange juice? For a drug addict who's been clean for only 24 hours? Yeah - a nice tall glass of acidy beverage should come up nicely once he starts puking. But if he's detoxing - why is Jamie being taken to the police station - not a clinic? (like they always do on A&E's Intervention) ... Why wouldn't Adam have been placed under arrest immediately upon landing in GC? Wasn't he in handcuffs and under arrest when he left? Wouldn't that be reinstated? ... If in a maximum security hospital for the criminally insane, there's no way Patty and Adam should have contact (in any other hospital in the world other than GC's that is) Yet - there WAS a man in the patient lounge - so I guess it's coed. Plus - Paulie promised that Adam would never be able to hurt Patty again (which makes it obvious that he will) ... If Victor loathes Adam so much, why does he refer to him as 'son'? ... Victor needs to waddle up to the pilot? There's no intercom button he can buzz to ask when they'll be landing? Wasn't he aware of the flight time before taking off? It's likely around the same time as when you flew OUT to Brazil just a few days ago. Getting at ETA just doesn't seem a justifiable reason for leaving Sharon alone with a murderer (especially when Sharon thinks Victor's her 'personal body guard') ..... Nick claims Mike can't possibly understand (his need to testify)- until he's been in 'this chair'. Um - Mike has been in the defendant's chair - and was sent off to prison for years ... Nikki knows that keeping a marriage together isn't easy. Guess cause she's tried - and failed - so many times ... Phyllis 'doesn't come in second'? Oh no? Wasn't she second fiddle in her two most important relationships? Second to Christine with Danny - and second to Sharon with Nick. You went in as second Phyllis ... Sharon doesn't have to scheme - she merely needs to place herself accordingly. Scheming would be falsifying DNA tests to saddle someone with a son they didn't conceive ..... Nick's 'very loyal'? Nikki might wanna grab a dictionary- look up both 'very' and 'loyal' before assigning these adjectives to her wandering son ... Odd that a man who vows under oath that he'd never take another person's life (as Nick did) - would find himself incarcerated not once but TWICE now for a murder he didn't commit .... Nice that the psych. ward has a spa so Patty can get her finely arched eyebrows plucked, threaded or waxed - as well as her roots. Perhaps they'll tend to Adam's beard ... Great hiding Adam - changing your name to Adam Victor Newman JR - but A. You'd have to be just Victor Newman to get the JR - and B. You're supposed to be HIDING - why not change your name to John Smith?
