While Chris is getting a warm welcome at the mausoleum, Nina and Paul are discussing the interruption of their 'love' making. Surprised that Paul's working for Victor, Nina's told that he's doing it for Nikki - then suggests they go away for a few days. Yeah, Nina DOES want to spend time with Cricket - how about they after she leaves?

At the ranch, Nikki stammers at Victor's ring - not quite sure what to say. How about 'Yes - I'll marry you'? Victor prods. Pretending not to know what's going on, Meggie races in - wow - that's some ring - don't let me stop you.

A bored Chloe's at RS - because 'lover boy's' working. Yes, Billy's working on next month's issue (but isn't all that interested in the story of Jana falling for her thieving kidnapper). Yes, Billy's just fine - except his kid's living beside someone who folks want to kill.

Outside the apartment, Heather can't believe they've been bugged - and it's not just their conversations being eavesdropped on *wink wink nudge nudge* . When did Rogan plant the bug? One way or another, Chance WILL find out.

In a private room at the station, Rogan repeats to Syd - he meant what he said (and wants Chance OFF the case).

Chance plans to stage a show - for Rogan - to make him think they're gonna expose the drug ring. When he shows up, he'll be busted. The only problem? Rogan knows about 'us' - Heather could lose her job (Chance figures he'll lose Chloe anyway). We got carried away - a one time thing. Chance MUST tell Chloe - but how? It'll break her heart.

Billy worries about Chloe and Delia becoming collateral damage - Chance isn't superman (he's not even a good cop). Jealous? Of what? Billy wonders - his 'night stick'? No - that Chloe gave up bad boys - for a knight in shining armour. Why can't he be happy that she's found an honorable man (who won't hurt her the way HE did?)

Chris chuckles about missing Kay's funeral - and rebirth. Kay IS happy - Murphy IS quite a guy alright. Coming back from the dead runs in the family (Chris again mentions that she's in frequent contact with Philip). They then discuss Nina (who still feels unaccepted). Chris knows she's seeing Paul - her visit went fine - she and Paul are over (though will always be connected). You're not a good liar, Kay chuckles - and wonders how long Chris plans to stay in town.

Nina wonders the same thing - and if Paul will change his mind (on going away with her) No - Paul won't change his mind (on anything) ~kiss~

Meggie's confused - I thought you two WERE married. It's obvious they love one another. Victor's trying to fix that - if only they could get some *ahem* privacy. Oops - sorry - a giggling Meggie will go to her room (and close the door). That leaves Victor express his love - marry me.

Nikki's so touched - but it's so sudden. Not to Victor (who almost died - realizing his one regret was not spending more time with Nikki). But Nikki can't help but question the timing (with Meggie's arrival). Victor's clear - he loves Nikki - wants to marry her. But sure, he'll give Nikki all the 'time' she needs.

Returning to their apartment, Chance and Heather talk loudly - there's only one thing to do - tell the truth - to everyone - blow the lid off this drug thing (by giving Billy the story). Taking the call, Billy's unimpressed when Chance announces that he and Heather are on their way over to RS. Chloe figures it's because Chance can't stay away from her. Guess that's why he's bringing Heather, Billy quips. Billy's waiting, Chance announces to Heather.

At the jailhouse, Paul and Mike exchange info on Meggie - Victor wants a full report by yesterday. You'll never guess who's back in town, Paul says. Sorry - Mike turns his back to take a call (as Chris appears - to be summoned over by a grinning Paul). Ending his call, Mike turns back to Paul - so, who's back in town? ME, Chris grins.

Mike recovers to ask question - and give Chris a 'good to see you' hug. Stepping out with Syd, the confident (and cocky) Rogan's all over Chris (who hesitates before shaking his hand). Mike leads them into an office - where things are a lot less 'pervy'. Updating on Lauren and Fen, Mike hears that Chris stopped by Paul's (when Nina was there) - musta been some reunion. yeah, Paul smiles (Chris, not so much).

Again in the living room, Meggie looks around (and doesn't see Nikki) - not interrupting again am I? Nope - Victor sits her down. he's an honorable man (who repays his debts) - but his first priority is his family - and Nikki. He won't allow anyone to hurt them - not even someone he feels obligated to.

Kay's not surprised when Nikki comes to report that Victor proposed. Despite the 'spectacular' ring, Nikki didn't say 'yes'. Why does she doubt Victor? The woman from Canada? No - well, maybe. Nikki wonders if that's why Victor proposed. She then lists the women in Victor's life - he's got a brand new heart (while Nikki worries hers will be broken again). No, Kay doesn't think her crazy - she woulda said 'no' too.

Kay notes how good things are between Nikki and Victor right now - why risk losing that? Follow your old and battered heart, she concludes with a hug.

Victor's surprised to see Meggie back in her old clothes (wanting to respect Nikki's house). Victor gets on the phone again - to summon the car (which will take Meggie to Fenmore's for a shopping spree). Victor's bodyguards will keep Meggie safe - have a great time. After she leaves, Victor makes another call - meet me at the stables - this time there'll be no interruptions.

At RS, Chloe teases Billy about Vikki as they go over some photos. Rogan (aka Detective Judgmental) arrives. Learning that Chance isn't there yet, Rogan warns Billy not to meet with him. If he's stupid enough to do so, he better be stupid enough to print a word he says. And HOW did Rogan know that Chance was coming to meet Billy? That's a good question, Chance (and Heather) appear to ask - then arrest Rogan for illegal wire tapping - and conspiracy to commit murder.

Back at the mausoleum, Nina's told that she just missed Chris (and makes a snide remark about them chatting about 'the old days' - when she and Philip were together). Nina's find with Chris coming - but did it have to be the day she and Paul ..... Nina feels like a teenager - who can't compete with the prettiest girl in school (for the cute guy). She never COUD compete with that (flashback to Nina's jealousy over Paul and Chris).

Paul, Chris and Mike are also flashing back to the good times - and the scary ones too (with Mike assuring Chris that she has nothing to be afraid of). Both recall 'almost losing' her that night. Funny, the buried feelings we have inside, Chris opines - they never go away.

Nina doubts what Paul and Chris had will ever go away - but will try not to let it interfere with her friendship with Chris (flashback to the teary BFF's parting ways - I love you). More flashbacks - of Paul cradling Chris in bed. Um... still in the room, Mike reminds - where did you two go? Nowhere, Chris emits a throaty sigh. Nowhere important, Paul smiles.

Syd? What are you doing here? Chance lays out his plan - knowing whomever bugged the safe house would try to keep them from going to the press. It MUST be Malloy! Chance and Heather are sure he's their dirty cop. Yes, he bugged the apartment - knowing Chance couldn't be trusted (and here he is - ready to spill his guts on a case to his slimeball Uncle). It's MR Slimeball, Billy defends Chance. And when Syd takes Chance off the case, Heather threatens to go to Owen. A lot worse things can happen to you, Syd growls as he leaves Chance to have a fit (and tell Rogan he won't get way with this). Rogan heard a lot of things - some could be damaging on the home front. YOU'RE the one who's gonna shut his mouth - play along like a good boy (which Chance has no choice but to do).

In the stables, Nikki takes a sniff from one amongst many roses. Enter Victor on horseback - to propose in 'the right way'. He's a fortunate man - very wealthy too - with a beautiful family - but without Nikki (the woman who loves him like no other), he has nothing. Again, Victor flashes the ring - will you marry me?

Nina thanks Kay for bringing clarity to things - worrying about her BFF and the 'stand up' Paul is silly. She won't let past rivalries - or insecurities ruin what she has with either of them.

Still with Mike and Paul, Chris is vague on why she's back in town. Neither press the issue - just glad she's back.

Billy agrees to sit on 'the story' - IF Rogan will give him an exclusive. Rogan will think about it. After he marches out, Chloe babbles about spaghetti westerns. 'Cept our Eastwood bit the bullet this time, Billy jokes. But on the bright side, Chloe's fiance won't be living with Heather - and Billy's daughter will be safe. It's win win - except for Heather (who's a few feet away whining to Chance about Rogan being her bodyguard). Chance won't bail on her - but has things to take care of before fighting Rogan. Neither feel good about 'this'.

When Meggie holds up a dress, the snooty sales clerk informs it's $800 - perhaps she'd like to see the sales rack. No thanks, Meggie will take all of these - and some matching shoes - put it on Victor Newman's account, she says (as she continues browsing).

Back in the stables, Nikki sighs - Oh Victor - she came to say she can't marry him (afraid of losing the magic they've recaptured). But she's changed her mind - marriage shouldn't change that. Is Nikki willing to risk it? Take a leap of faith? OMG - you bet your ass she is - a billion yes's for the man she loves oh so ~kiss~ Hey - where's the ring? With more utterings of love, Victor slides the huge diamond onto a weepy Nikki's finger.

Next: This girl's gonna bring you down, Phyllis asserts to Daniel (who claims there's more to Abby than people think) ... You're suing me for half of Fenmore's, Lauren complains rhetorically - waving papers on the mausoleum's front door. It should be a slam dunk, Jill gloats ... You're bribing a Japanese official, Ashley accuses (at the ranch). And whether that stays between the three of us up to Victor (according to Tucker).

My Thoughts: Victor's bodyguards will keep Meggie safe? Why don't they ever keep HIM safe? .... Gotta love selective memories. Yes - Nikki came to Victor - told him that no woman will ever love him the way she does - and then he said that he wishes she was dead - that the tag on Sabrina's toe should be on hers .... No need to 'got to the press' now coppers - Chance has just bellowed the entire case to everyone who works at RS. And why is he throwing stuff around Billy's place of business? ... Was Meggie supposed to be Julia Roberts - in Pretty Woman? (where the snooty, presumptuous sales girl gets dissed by the hooker)? Thank heavens there was no cheesy montage of Meggie twirling about in various dresses. But can anyone just walk into Fenmore's - and say 'put it on Victor Newman's tab'? Isn't Meggie even gonna try anything on? .. Mike had 'one of his legal interns' do a report on Meggie McClean? Do these fictitious interns work out of Mike's fictitious office? And why is he snapping 'don't interrupt me' to this poor David guy who called? .... Chance is gonna 'stage a show'? Does he think he's on Glee? I guess by 'show' - he means loud and obvious over annunciation .... Funny that Chloe knows all about Ryder being wanted for burglary - when Chance, the cop, hasn't even mentioned it. You'd think he'd have SOME passing interest (as he did go to Chicago with Kevin to search for Jana) ... Nice that Victor proposed 'right' in the stables - where Nick and Phyllis used to romp - and where Nikki discovered a dead body (supposedly Skye) decomposing .... Geez Victor - couldn't you have rode in on a horse that doesn't look like it's got one hoof in the the glue factory door? Poor thing almost buckled under the weight of TGVN - and was Nikki supposed to hop on the tiny foal tied to it? The central casting cowboy leading the horses off sure doesn't look like he's been shoveling manure and hay all day ..... Yeah - Chris shares many 'scary' memories with Paul and Mike - mostly when Paul and Mike were raping, stalking or attacking her ... How long does Chris plan to stay in town? I dunno, Paul answers. Hellooo - you're a PI - why not just go to the club - find out how long Chris booked a suite for ?... Yes Chris - this new husband of Kay's seems like 'quite a guy' - an invisible guy ...

For anyone wondering who the heck Christine 'Cricket' Blair Romalotti Williams is - I'll give ya a brief recap - errors free of charge (others can check out now). First, Lauralee Bell is the co-creator's daughter (apparently the original Jack, Terry Lester, left the show because she received too much air time). Anyway - the character first appeared in the early 80's... I believe was a teen model for Jabot when she caught Nina (a girl from the wrong side of the tracks) in bed with her fiance, Philip (who, at that point, liked girls) ... Some time after being raped, Chris transitioned from model to lawyer (and was harassed and then stalked by Mike Baldwin). Kidnapped, Chris was rescued by Paul (and Nate).. In the early 90's, Chris married pop star Danny Romalotti (enter the bitter rivalry with a then devious Phyllis)... Now a successful attorney, Chris finally chose Paul over Danny. Their problems? Inability to conceive a child (and a meddling mother in law, Mary)... After paying for his crime, Mike, a changed man, was championed by none other than Saint Christine ... They started a law firm - her marriage to Paul fell apart. After a short absence, Chris returned to GC to find Paul involved with Isabella.. Mike and Chris got engaged (which ticked Paul off so much that he 'raped' Christine - some still argue that it was consensual - and she didn't hold a grudge)... For a while it was Paul/Isabella/Mike/Christine - with Paul saving Chris - Mike saving them both (from Isabella) ... During Chris' years on the show, she was involved in many adventures with Paul - going under cover as a porn star - saving Nina and searching for the baby that's still missing - being run over by Phyllis (in a rental car). It was she who defended Daniel in his manslaughter trial (when Cassie died)... The main thing you need to know is that Chris is (or was) the good girl - the victim - she made Lily look evil ..
