At the mausoleum, Chance wishes he could take back his 'one time' with Heather. He hates himself for hurting Chloe (who hates herself too - for being so stupid - allowing herself to be happy - only to have her heart ripped out of her chest).

At Heather's apartment, Chris and Rogan explain to she and Paul. She and Rogan are there to help. Whomever tried to blow Heather up is NOT the same person framing Chance (for drugs). How can they be so sure? Rogan planted the drugs - and Chris helped him.

At the Abbott mansion, Jack's outraged that Emily's being sucked back into Patty's problems - get her OUT of our lives. When Emily wonders what it's REALLY about, Jack feels she's choosing Patty over him (and if that's her choice - how can they move forward?). Yeah - he IS giving Emily an ultimatum.

Reading her diary, Patty whispers - I didn't kill anybody. Why did the devil make me say it? she falls asleep wondering. Outside, armed with a flashlight, tools, and his blueprints to the hospital (on his phone), Adam manages to sneak in through the air conditioning. 'Can't wait to see you again Patty'.

Rogan's clearly doesn't agree with Chris' idea of a 'covert operation'. Chance was putting himself in danger - she had to stop it. Chance being arrested for drugs will keep him off the force, away from Heather (and the police drug ring). Rogan takes a jab at Chris for blabbing - and agrees that Chance and Nina can't know.

Back at the mausoleum, Chance implores Chloe to look at him - this will never, ever happen again. In tears, Chloe admits she was paranoid - didn't trust Chance (who she never thought too honest to cheat on her). Chance talks of waiting to lose his virginity to her - he fell in love instantly. How can he prove how much Chloe means to him? Chloe concludes he's just another guy who makes love sound so pretty - while he gets some on the side. Guess she's not that special after all - and neither is Chance.

Following the blueprints, Adam crawls his way through the maze of vents - dammit, wrong way. In bed, Patty replays her nightmare. I didn't do it, she murmurs repeatedly in her sleep.

Paul and Heather point out that neither Chance not Nina will just let this go. They MUST, Chris and Rogan are in agreement. When Heather confides that Chance is shadowing her, Paul offers to get him to back off. For his sake - and the investigation, Chance can't know that he's in danger - Rogan also warns that if it gets out that Heather knows, she'll be killed. Nina and Chance if they're told. Oh, skip the scare tactics, Heather's an ADA (and Paul's been doing this since before Rogan ate solid food) - if this case goes wrong, it won't be because of them.

Chance encourages Chloe to get it out - he deserves it. He wants Chloe - always has. They can start from scratch - go as slow as she wants. Chloe is his first and only love. Stop - stop talking! Slamming out for some 'air' Chloe doesn't even want to LOOK at Chance anymore.

Jack and Emily continues to butt heads over her treating Patty (a woman who kidnapped Jack's niece - and took over Emily's life). She won't get over her obsession, Jack insists - she's capable of murder (and Jack can't understand why Emily has no interest in protecting what THEY have).

Having made his way to Patty's room, Adam crouches at the foot of her bed to flip through her diary (removing the pages where she's doodled 'I didn't kill anybody') As Patty sleeps, Adam grabs a crayon - to make some doodles of his own.

Over frosty beers at Jimmy's, Paul appreciates Chris taking the risk (confiding in them). To put Chris' mind at ease, Paul calls Chance to say there's no need for him to tail Heather. Hanging up, Paul doesn't like lying to Chance - but lying to Nina is even worse. She trusts him enough to let him look for her son. Nina's being lied to by the people she trusts the most. We're protecting her, Chris corrects. Paul can only hope that by the time they're able to tell Nina the truth - she's willing to listen.

Nina brings home some food from the club - for Chance and Chloe. Chance isn't hungry - and Chloe's not here. Nina snaps - you had the day from hell and she's off shopping!? Back off Mom - Chloe didn't screw up, I did.

Now alone at the apartment, Heather and Rogan share a tension filled take out dinner. Rogan HAD to tattle their affair to Chance's boss (to get him booted off the case). He's sorry. Ya know, Heather totally bought Rogan's act as the cocky detective only out for himself - nice to know he's on their side. Good - Rogan hopes she'll do exactly what he says (to keep herself alive).

This isn't about Patty - it's about Jack and Emily. CAN she walk away? Tearing up, Emily knows Jack's worried about her safety. And Jack knows how seriously she takes her work. Emily can see what this is doing to Jack - and won't put him through any more pain. She won't sacrifice their relationship for anyone - and WILL walk away from Patty. THIS is what matters - I love you ~kiss~

Having drawn a crude map in her diary, Adam now tells the groggy Patty that she's not dreaming - it really IS me - the ghost of Richard Hightower. You wanted Adam dead - but killed ME instead. Adam was mean to Patty - but she didn't kill him (or Mr Hightower). You DID kill me - and will die for your sins unless you do exactly what I say.

Now in synch, Emily and Jack have only sports to debate ~kiss ~hug~ It feels so good to hold one another ~kiss~

As Paul devours his burger, Chris credits him for handling all he does - and can see how much he loves Heather and Patty. Paul appreciates Chris helping his daughter - just like when she was a kid. Heather IS awesome - everyone can see it.

Done with this day, Rogan decides to shower and crash (which leaves Heather to answer a knock at the door). So - you wanted Chance - sure as hell got him - and now, you get to deal with ME, Chloe barges in.

What does Adam want? Penance - come away with me. Patty doesn't have to die - if she comes far, far away with him. He'll take her to 'the answer'. Mesmerized, Patty guesses that the answers are down the rabbit hole. Tick tock - can't be late, Adam waits while Patty jots down a note for Paul. OK - Patty's ready. The beginning of the rabbit hole, Adam shines light on the vent (rabbit hole). I can save you, he takes Patty's hand. 'I had to run away - bye - I love you', the note left for Paul reads.

You cheated on Chloe? Yeah - Chance did. No comments, he warns. Nina knows Chance would never intentionally hurt Chloe. Chance needs to fix this. Nina thinks he needs to examine WHY he cheated - this isn't about Chloe - it's about YOU - maybe it was too soon. Chance wants Chloe! He thought he was one of the good guys - got amped up over the case - lost focus - cheating doesn't make you 'human' he argues - it makes you a giant jackass.

Chloe snarls that Heather's whole 'school marm' act hides a whore. Ignoring the insult, Heather's sorry - Chance loves you - he's sorry too. You speak for him now? Chloe's further infuriated (sneering about Heather playing damsel for her hero. Why, she bets Heather bought a thong and push up bra. It was a 'mistake'? Chloe sees a recurring theme - Billy (the town slut), Adam the psychopath - and her fiance, Chance. No one wants only Heather - whatever she has to offer isn't that appealing. Ya know, Heather didn't pounce on Chance in the middle of the night - he knew what he was doing. Yeah - a nasty, pathetic little slut. Heather knows why Chloe's there - we both know what sex means to Chance - so, Chloe must be wondering why he'd risk everything with HER, just to be with Heather. Bitch! Chloe slaps her face (as Rogan comes out).

back at the mausoleum, Chance vows to fix things with Chloe - do whatever it takes to earn her trust back. He'll get his badge back - find every single one of those dirty cops - and nail em to a wall.

Get off me! I'm gonna kick her ass! Chloe struggles as she's hoisted over Rogan's shoulder - and carried out (squealing about police brutality). Depositing her in the hallway, Rogan knows what she's going through - OK? I'm sorry, he says (as he closes the apartment door).

Patty climbs out of the AC unit, Adam close behind. What's in the bag? Equipment for her redemption - clothes, ID. A nun's habit? Yup - put it on - then it's off to the bus station - she'll do the work of the Lord - in Canada. How soon will Patty be forgiven? It's a long road - and she must never come back to GC. OK, Patty agrees (now in the nun's habit). Tell Jack I'll never forget him, is Patty's only request.

Next: Skye's seen how far Adam's willing to go to cover his ass. DID you kill Hightower? she has to ask ... Daniel behind her, Abby whines to Jack (at the station) - a murderer has been set free - and I'm arrested for a stupid prank? ... Open up! Paul (with Owen and an officer) bangs on a suite's front door. Inside, Adam and Skye are in bed - showtime.

My Thoughts: Chance 'nails dirty cops to a wall' (sounds like a title for an adult movie to me) ... Fortunately, I've never had this happen to me (that I'm aware of) - but whenever a cheater publicizes it, I can't help but think it's adding insult to injury - bad enough to know you've been cheated on - but even worse when it's broadcast to friends and family (usually for no apparent reason). Would Chloe REALLY want Nina to know? The pitying or gloating looks (however discreet) must be worse than the betrayal .... THIS is what the Department of Justice came up with to protect Chance? Planting drugs on a Detective (noted for his integrity and honesty)? What about his reputation? His family? What if Chance got so depressed - that he took a gun and shot himself in the head? Will everyone agree it was a great idea then? Once cleared - and the truth comes out, will Chance shrug it all off - laugh about it over beers at Jimmy's? What about any cops who ARE doing (or selling) the drugs they confiscate - if caught - won't it be an easy defense to say 'I was framed - happens all the time around here'? ... Hard to believe that the Department of Justice would have even heard of a suspected drug ring in such a small county jail - let alone get involved ... Duh - if they wanted Chance off the case and away from Heather, wouldn't it have just been easier to reassign him to another case? Another precinct? Send him under cover elsewhere - or to a convention - or an out of town seminar on new police techniques - or assign Chance to provide a 300 page report comparing police procedures in the military vs. the private sector? (to be presented before the Justice Department) - or perhaps the DofJ could assign him to a project involving Iraq ....... Doesn't Chris have anything else interesting 'come across' her desk? Who could turn down a good mafia sting? Since Chris seems to be in constant contact with Philip, why not concoct some story that the cattle rustlers are pestering Chance's Dad - send him to Australia? ..... The night she was dressed in a short, black satin robe, Chloe was trying to look 'cute and irresistible? Hmmm, that could be the problem - maybe she'd have had better luck if she'd gone for 'hot and sexy'. Guess it really didn't matter WHAT Chloe wore (or didn't wear) - Chance couldn't possibly make love to her because of the stench of Heather 'secret' between them - perhaps it's just that Chance doubted he'd be able to perform again so soon after sex with Heather .... Rogan planted the drugs in Chance's car - and Chris 'helped him'? How many crime fighters does it take to break into a car and throw a bag of dope inside? ... OK - it's been a while since we've had a contest, so - I'll award $50 (payable via Paypal) - to the first person to email me a link to online blueprints of a facility for the criminally insane (said blueprints must include a detailed maze of air venting - and be accessible to the public) .... Odd that there's cameras in the hospital's 'common' or 'day' room - but no cameras monitoring the perimeter ... Kind of a waste for Adam to have spent money on a nun's habit for Patty (too bad she didn't keep the one she had on when the Bardwell's kidnapped her from that church stand off) ... 'Would you stop doing the job YOU love doing if I asked you'? Emily turns the tables on Jack by asking - which isn't really a fair question - cause, as far as I know, Jack doesn't even HAVE a job.
