At the mausoleum, Chloe pouts over a birthday card from Philip (to my favourite soon to be daughter in law, it reads). Better luck next daughter in law, Chloe mutters. Kay and Jill briefly appear (bickering over Jill suing for the Fenmore estate). And then it's Nina - yes, she knows about Heather - and is sorry - but some relationships weren't meant to be. As Nina exits, Ester arrives with Delia - and a birthday cake. Chloe's in no mood for it (or Ester reading Cinderella). Kill me now, she mutters.

At CL's, Heather hates lying to Chance. It's for his sake - do your job, Rogan orders. Heather then joins Chance (who requests the DA's file on the Rigg's case).

Holding the twins, Lily's reluctant to go home to all those boxes. When Cane insists, she wonders what he's up to. She'll just have to go home and see.

Sophia liked the ad exec - and more importantly SHE liked their idea to market CI to a whole new generation of companies. Sitting with her at the club, a now friendly Neil gives Sophia the credit (which she's more than willing to share). Getting a call from Devon (who's at the Ashby's - setting up for a party), Neil announces he's gotta head to his daughter's place - catch you later, he exits smiling. I'm sure you will, Sophia's left chuckling and shaking her head.

Vikki meets Billy on the CL's patio. Mentioning an outdoor fund raiser, Billy wonders why Vikki's not sweating in this heat. She's an ice princess remember? As Vikki heads inside to freshen up, the Baldwin's arrive. Would calling you Aunt Lauren be pushing it? Billy quips. Lauren echoes his chuckle - not exactly unamused.

Still on the patio, Billy stammers - that was a joke - not funny, was it? Billy makes it clear that if Jill had listened to him, she wouldn't be doing her 'dog with a bone' act. Jill doesn't listen to anyone - ever - about anything. Billy clarifies that he understands Lauren's position (everyone feels for her). Lauren really appreciates that. Rejoining Vikki, Billy's pleased to hear that Vikki's game to skip the fund raiser (forcing a cough, he feels her forehead - oh no, he plays along - and takes her off to play doctor).

As Ester reads Cinderella, Chloe slips into a dream. In 'the ugliest outfit she's ever seen' Chloe (sans make up) is a wall flower at a ball held at the mausoleum. Princes Cane, Chance and Billy are in attendance - as are 'the wicked fashion victims', Jill and Nina. After Kay's magic wand turns Chloe into a 'fabulous' princess, she finds herself dancing with an unidentified mystery prince.

Back at CL's, Chance pressures Heather (who balks at his request - she's already been suspended). Fine - Chance WILL get the info he needs - and it's best she doesn't know how. Fine - Heather will get the file. Be careful. No one will know, she promises (as the man who's been watching calls to tattle that Stevens agreed to help 'our friend'). Yeah - he'll take care of it ~click~

Lily's not all that surprised by her surprise 'welcome home' party (as all their cars are in the driveway). But she IS surprised to find that Roxy, Devon, Malcolm and Neil have unpacked all the boxes - and put the crib together. Malcolm has on more surprise - his fiance's on her way over. When Neil comments, Malcolm admits there's one thing they should know about his 'missus' (who then arrives - to kiss her fiance - and wipe the smile off Neil's face).

Seated on the CL's patio, Mike and Lauren discuss Billy's surprising moments of depth. Lauren realizes they're now related - Fen has cousins). Mike reminds that everyone on Jill's side is willing to meet her half way. Lauren supposes she COULD do half way - but it better be now, before she changes her mind.

Back in her jeans, Chloe waits for the prince with her slipper (as Jill and Nina cackle at her - you'll be waiting forever). Chloe's anxious to discover the identify of her mystery man. Prince Cane arrives - but his sparkly slipper doesn't fit Chloe (but is a perfect fit for the elegantly dressed Lily). Sorry about the cancer - but can't Lily get her own dream? Chloe gripes. Next, she tries on Billy's 'so last season' shoe - which ends up on Vikki's foot. And here's Chance - but his shoe goes to Heather (also in a white gown). No! No! Chloe hops up and down - you can't all live happily ever after. No! Chloe awakens alone on the sofa - to whine about the worst dream ever. I don't need a stinking fairy tale - I need to make things happen (and so calls Chance - meet me at Jimmy's).

At CL's, Nina frowns - as Chance agrees to be at Jimmy's in an hour. He sighs and chuckles. Can whatever Nina wanted to talk about wait? He needs to make things right with Chloe - and yes, his hopes ARE up.

Returning to the apartment, Heather frets about agreeing to get that file for Chance. And it'd be nice if Rogan provide a solution - instead of just 'stating the obvious'. Rogan then gets a call - Chloe has info on the case - can he ditch his 'precious cargo' to be the lucky guy? Annoyed when Rogan offers to have someone cover him, Heather huffs that she was better off with Chance. Meet me at Jimmy's in a half hour, Chloe instructs. When Ester expresses concern about her meeting with two men, Chloe scowls - screw the prince - she wants payback.

As all ooh and aah over Sophia's gifts, it's clear she's an instant hit with the family. All except Neil (who quietly complains to Malcolm about 'Tucker's right hand'). She KNEW all about his plan all along. So, Neil doesn't want her anywhere near his family - you got that?

A quick learner, Vikki doesn't seem to need Billy's 'beer pong' instructions. He's guzzling beer as Chloe saunters into Jimmy's (to joke that Delia's in the car. S'ok - the window's cracked). Billy gives Chloe a gift - an Empire State Building pin. Thanking Billy with a hug, Chloe then joins Rogan (who quickly realizes this isn't work related - and that she's with him to stick it to Chance for cheating). He doesn't seem interested in any 'rebound reaction'. Why not? Chloe grins - no strings - could be your lucky night.

Back at the apartment, Heather whines to her new bodyguard (Meeks) about the heat. OMG - nobody would try to kill me in this heat - I gotta get outta here, Heather marches out before she can be stopped.

Nina unloads to Kay - you shoulda seen Chance's face when Chloe called. Kay supports Chloe - give her a break. And now it's back to bickering about Jill (suing Lauren). And as Jill's loudly wondering why Kay's (and taking the side of) that spoiled rich little .... the Baldwin's arrive.

Giving Neil the good news (that her numbers are good), Lily comments that Neil doesn't like Sophia. She's Tucker McCall's CFO, Neil points out - and no, he had no idea she was Malcolm's fiance. Lily admits it's a bit weird - but look how happy they are - she can't be all that bad.

As everyone files out (to give the sisters privacy), Jill doesn't think it a good idea (without attorney's present). Hear me out, Lauren talks of being 'Daddy's girl' - she loved being his one and only - but she wasn't - her decent, wonderful father had another child. She can't apologize for not wanting to share his memory. But she's there to try and make things right.

Of course Vikki's a pro at beer pong - 'girls like her' know more than Billy can possibly imagine. Is it hot in here? Or just you? Looks like the heat's making everyone loco (Billy watches Chloe and Rogan dancing). Rogan knows she's waiting for Chance to arrive (but when he does - with flowers - gives her a kiss anyway).

Lauren would never have said this before - but she and Jill are a lot alike. Sharing a gene pool will do that to ya, Jill replies. They share a chuckle - family (kids and grand kids) are reasons to try harder. Lauren's now ready to work things out (and hopes Jill is too). The warm, fuzzy feeling evaporates - when Jill decides Lauren's worried she'll get 'thumped in court'. On the staircase, Mike, Kay and Nina discuss Paul looking for Nina's son. She was just about to tell Chance when Chloe called. Are you demented?! I'm reaching out here~ Lauren suddenly shouts. And as the trio hurry back to the living room, Jill tells Lauren to take her fake touchy feely garbage and shove it.

Unsuccessful in stopping a charging Chance, Billy stands beside him as Chloe's confronted on her game of revenge. And YOU, Chance turns on Rogan - more than happy to play along. What about Heather? Meeks is covering your little friend - relax - go home - you've got no badge, no gun - no job, Rogan sneers. Off to check on Heather's safety, Chance dumps the flowers at Chloe's feet. She knows Heather's just fine - that twit's not really in any danger.

A surveillance camera shows Heather jumping into a car - sorry to keep you waiting - aren't you sweltering up there Marty? But as the driver turns around, Heather looks horrified - and frantically pulls on the door handle. As the man reaches to grab Heather by the hair, she screams - managing to kick out the side window (and almost escape through it until she's yanked back inside).

Now at the non air conditioned trailer, Vikki and Billy try to beat the heat - by making out.

After Cane thanks everyone for helping pull the nursery together, Lily talks of a year of hope - not fear. Roxy and Devon are back in the fold - and welcome to Sophia (who thanks them all - but has a meeting to get to). Outside, Neil confronts Sophia - what's she up to? Working and planning a wedding. Sophia's lucky to be part of his family and business - it'll be easier on both of them they can trust each other. See you later, she leaves Neil to frown.

Jill rants - does her L'il sister think she's gonna bring scissors to Fenmore's - cut every jacket down the middle to take her share!? You had TWO families - but you're empty and needy - taking what's MINE won't fix that. See you in court! Jill bellows. Get me the hell out of here, Lauren marches out. It's ON, she snarls at Mike. Back inside, Jill doesn't want to hear ONE word from Kay or Nina - it's MY family - I'll deal with it as I see fit. That leaves Kay to reassure Nina - when she finds her son, it can't possibly go any worse than this.

As Heather escapes through the window, the car screeches off. Chance arrives - to fire off a few shots as it speeds away. Take care of her, Meeks says - as he runs after the car.

Chloe kicks at the flowers on Jimmy's floor. Handing her a beer, Rogan surmises that she screwed up. Chloe thinks he shoulda gone with Chance - they could be laughing about what an ass she is. No - wait - Chance is laughing with Heather. Caressing her hair, Rogan doesn't think her an ass. He's aware that there's no longer an audience - but kisses her anywhere. Careful what you wish for birthday girl, he leaves Chloe to swoon.

Next: Stunned, Abby stares at the paper in her hand. You're loaded kid, Jack congratulates ... I won't be bought, Phyllis scowls at Victor (who claims he's simply concerned about his family). I'm the injured party here, Phyllis reminds ... Tucker (Ashley at his side) talks to Billy - for all the times he's threatened and insulted you - wouldn't you just love to return the favour?

My Thoughts: If he's so desperate to see Chloe, why would Chance need an hour to get to Jimmy's? .... Delia really looked thrilled with Ester's storytelling (judging by her red, wet eyes she's fresh off a good cry) ... Billy knows what it's like 'to have a new relative'? 'At the altar'. Yes - that was 'special' - but him finding out Mac was his cousin is hardly the same situation Lauren's in. Odd that Billy's not writing this story up for his magazine ... Chloe's dream was mildly comical filler (lol@ her spitting her gum into Kay's hand). But are we expected to believe that a glass slipper too small for Chloe would fit Lily (who's taller)? ... According to Lily, Roxy and Devon are 'back in the fold'? I didn't realize Devon ever left the fold (and I'm sure Roxy appreciates the reminder of Devon cheating with his pseudo Aunt). Where has Dr Liv disappeared to? ... If the weather's so hot, why can't the wealthy Billy and Vikki find somewhere to go that's air conditioned? Hard to believe the building the Baldwin's reside in doesn't have AC either. Looks like Kay has the AC cranked (as Chloe's got a blanket on her - and Meeks felt the need to grab his jacket before chasing after Heather) ... 'Try to stay cool' Billy tells the Baldwin's (though he and Mike are both in suit and tie) ... Where's Murphy disappeared to? ... What the heck's so great about the onesies Sophia brought for the twins? And does Roxy never miss a chance to make herself appear a materialistic gold digger? ... Bravo to Lauren for extending an olive branch. Boo/hiss to Jill for snapping it in half and beating Lauren over the head with it. Clearly, it's not a sisterly bond she's looking for ... So - who's gonna pick up that mess of flowers all over the floor of Jimmy's bar? And is that all Chance had for Chloe's birthday? Nice that Billy bought her a souvenir from New York - a reminder of the days she stalked him ... Those twins the Ashby's are holding seem quite large for preemies. Wonder when the Department of Immigration will be notified of the good news - that Lily's numbers are good (and when the Ashby's will be packing for their move to Australia).
