Wiping sweat from his brow, Jack instructs Abby on organizing her financial documents (some of which are being messengered over to his place). They'll go over it at Jack's (as the CL's patio is a sauna).
At Tucker's, Ashley flashes back to Abby's eviction - then apologizes to for being so preoccupied (but maybe Abby kicking her out is for the best). She's moving to Jack's (but it's sweet of Tucker to invite her to stay with him). Now, on to business - they need proof of Victor bribing Japanese officials. Billy may not be eager to help (due to Vikki) - but every man has his price.
Billy and Vikki's kiss is interrupted by Ashley's call to summon him over. Hanging up, he assumes she and Tucker want to know about Vikki's meeting in Japan. There's no mystery, Vikki assures. Not buying it, Billy knows there's more to it.
At CL's, Nick leaves a message for Sharon - hoping she and Faith have escaped the heat. Worried about his ex and daughter, Nick appeals to Jack. They're safe, is all he's able to say (as Sharon swore him to secrecy). From the patio, Adam sneaks a peek. Meanwhile, Sharon's at the cabin with Faith (time alone is just what they needed).
Seated at the club, Victor's sorry Phyllis' marriage to Nick is over. He's prepared something he's sure she'll find 'generous' - and ensure she lives comfortably for the rest of her life. Phyllis frowns at the paperwork he's handed her.
While Billy dresses, the slip clad Vikki downplays her meeting in Japan (and it's not like Billy tells her about every article he publishes in RS). Flashback to Victor warning that Billy will publish everything in RS. With a quick kiss, Billy will see Vikki later.
That's a lotta zero's, Phyllis quips - not really comfortable with 'this'. Why? Victor considers her part of the family - family takes care of each other. Yes, if IS that simple (and if she and Nick both sign it, it'll avoid a lot of problems with the divorce proceedings). And when Victor hints that it'd be best for Summer, Phyllis more than hints that he's responsible for almost killing her. This is about what's best for Victor (and not smearing the Newman name in court).
Sweating it out at the cabin, Sharon assures Noah that Nick and Phyllis will be fine. Stay put - there's no reason for him to come home. Adam won't come after her - and she's her old self again.
Jack persuades Nick to stay away from Sharon (but will ask her to give him a call). Guessing Sharon's at the cabin, Nick disapproves of her being isolated. Sharon's safe - now, back off, Jack chases after Nick (as Adam continues to spy).
Jamming the paper back into the envelope, Phyllis wonders why Nick didn't present the offer. She's Summer's mother - they aren't one big happy family - and she's tired of Sharon being considered part of it. That philosophy actually contributed to the demise of her marriage. Thanks very much, but Phyllis won't be bought off - SHE'S the injured party here. Victor maintains he's merely concerned with his family - think it over. No thanks, Phyllis will deal with this in her own way.
After Phyllis clip clops off, Victor gets a call - Abby asked for that? How far do those documents go? I'll be damned.
Now at Jack's, Abby dumps a box of unopened mail onto the coffee table. The latest mail out shows the value of her trust. OMG! Abby's astounded - this is mine? Not only that - there's more from Brad and Colleen. Abby's aghast that she wasn't allowed access to a measly coupla hundred thousand to shoot her pilot. What a 'miser' Victor is. On cue, Victor calls to summon her to the club. Fine - Abby'd like to see HIM too ~click~
At Tucker's, Ashley rants at Billy - doesn't their father's company mean anything to him? He IS an Abbott - and has a stake in Jabot's success (which Tucker claims is hampered without evidence of Victor's hold on the Japanese market). Billy gets it - but what's he to do? Tucker offers him a job - name your price (he can run RS on the side). One the side? Billy objects - and jokes about how popular he is. He's flattered - but likes working for himself. Bottom line, Billy won't talk about what Vikki did or didn't do in Japan.
When Nick shows up at the cabin, Sharon's not 'upset' at all. Come on in - see your daughter (and fix this fan). The fan now running, Nick marvels at how Faith's grown (then updates Sharon on Adam and Skye's hedge fund). Once he goes to trail, he'll be behind bars for life (and out of their lives). Sharon's just relieved to be out of GC (and away from Adam).
When Adam approaches her at CL's, Phyllis quickly changes her order 'to go' - get out of here Adam, she snarls wearily. Adam wastes no time blabbing that Nick went to the cabin. Phyllis doesn't care anymore - they're separated. You done? Adam suggests she hook up with Skye (with that 'poker face'). Phyllis hears she cheats. Like Nick? Adam taunts. Phyllis won't bite - or drive up to the cabin. Sharon will NEVER take you back, she assures. Now alone, Phyllis must convince HERSELF that she's not going to the cabin.
Ashley and Tucker continue to work on Billy - offering a chance to take Victor down a few pegs (if not for family - for all the times Victor's insulted him). You're good, Billy admits - but won't tell them anything that might hurt Vikki). Count me out (he walks).
At the club, Victor asks Vikki to try talk some sense into Abby (who then joins them). When Victor asks about the financial documents Abby's requesting, she announces that she knows what she's worth - cough up the measly few hundred thousand. Vikki knows how Abby feels - she's been there - but Dad's just looking out for his family. We must stick together - deal with problems internally (NOT make them public). Refusing to be a 'cookie cutter' copy of Vikki, Abby wants HER money. Victor hates to say this - but Abby's an obnoxious brat (who'll be an old woman before she sees a dime of her trust fund).
Vikki tries again to empathize with Abby (who vows to review all three statements) - and will beat them in court. Because of the financial terminology Abby's throwing out, Victor knows someone's helping her. Of course - and Abby will rely on that help until she gets what's hers. After Abby clip clops out, Vikki suggests Victor bend - meet her half way. Victor refuses - and has a good idea who's coaching Abby.
After Sharon serves Nick a glass of lemonade, he thanks her for not being angry at him (for coming to check up on her). But when he decides it's time to go, Sharon offers dinner (which Nick accepts).
Back at CL's, Phyllis sets up a job interview (then flashes back to confronting Nick on sleeping with Sharon at the cabin - and her subsequent sobbing). I have to go! Phyllis grabs her stuff and races out.
On the drive up to the cabin, Phyllis hopes that Nick's not up there (and why is she doing this to herself?) Oh great - a flat tire (and now a thunder storm). I get the message, she talks to the heavens.
Over wine, Sharon talks of how peaceful it is at the cabin - and oh, what memories she has. Faith awakens (and is handed over to Nick - it's just the clouds bumping into each other, he reassures).
Returning to Jack's, Abby claims her meeting with Victor was a waste of time. Jack's totaled her worth - you're loaded kid - congratulations. Abby gapes at the figure - OK - if this is really what she's worth, she kinda sees her Dad's point. Jack feels that reaction means she should be taken seriously.
At the trailer, Billy updates Vikki that Tucker and Ashley are investigating this bribery thing. Sharing what he knows, Billy has a photo of the gun on his laptop - knows it's worth - and that she handed it over in Japan. It's an old school bribe if ever he saw one. That said, Billy doesn't need the details - and won't help anyone bring down her OR her father. He's the only one who saw the gun - and will never tell anyone about it.
Vikki's sorry she's kept things from Billy - wanted to tell the truth. Japan has strict gun laws. She doesn't really like the word 'bribery'. Billy vows to protect her - the secret's safe with him ~kiss~
Ashley has a plan - maybe Billy confided in Jill (and Tucker's the one person who can get it out of her). Ashley has to get back to Jack's now ~kiss~ See you tomorrow - bright and early.
Ready to leave, Abby thanks Jack for his help (and when he needs her, she'll be there for him). As Abby leaves, Victor arrives to point a finger at Jack - I KNEW you were behind this.
In the pouring rain, Phyllis looks for the flat tire in the back of her SUV. Deacon shows up with a flashlight - need some help?
It was nice seeing you - be careful, Sharon sends Nick out into the rain (then returns to put the wine glasses etc. away). Sure it's Nick who's knocking on the door, Sharon's unpleasantly surprised to find it's Adam.
Next: Phyllis is shocked - Deacon? All the women in the world - and I've gotta stop to help the woman who got me arrested, Deacon rants ... Ashley arrives in time to hear Jack lambaste Victor - What kind of father would manipulate his own children for his sick amusement? ... A furious Chance grabs Rogan by the shirt - what were you thinking? Leaving her like that!?
My Thoughts: Sorry - no time today - but here's some future spoilers (take with a grain of salt - I make no guarantees) .... Billy and Vikki will have a 50's retro wedding (during which the bride gets arrested). It'll air September 8th ... Johm Abbott will make a brief appearance in August ... Cindy Brady (Susan Olsen) will appear as Liza Morton (owner of Reed and Delia's preschool) ... Jill, Lauren - and a news reporter meet up at Neil's grave .. JT has a question for Mac (who has unexpected news) - could she be the 'unexpected' pregnancy to be announced soon? ... Eric Roberts (Vance) has checked into Celebrity Rehab ...
