A wet and bedraggled Phyllis calls Jack from CL's. No - she's not OK (and wants to come over). Drive carefully - it's treacherous out there. Yeah, tell me about it, Phyllis mutters. Emily tells Jack that poor Paul's worried (about poor Patty - out there somewhere - going through withdrawals). There's no trace of her - and no witnesses. Both are sure Adam's behind it - when will his evil deeds finally catch up with him?

Maybe now. Please don't die - help's coming (Sharon cradles the ex she just shot - sirens wail - thunder rumbles). On the scene, Nick checks on Faith - then calls to update Victor. Meet you at the hospital! As the medics work on Adam, Sharon babbles to Nick - OMG - I shot him - OMG!

At CL's, Lauren rants about being foolish enough to extend an olive branch to Jill - you'd think she'd have learned her lesson (from Sarah and Daisy). No - there's NO working it out - Jill will get NOTHING!

At the club with her attorney, Jill salivates over what she perceives to be Lauren's desperation (which backfired) - we have her by the throat. She must have inherited Neil Fenmore's hard edge business sense. The lawyer reminds Jill that the Judge must see her as victim (not predator). Good point - time she manage public perception (by calling the news station - with a story their viewers will love.

Sophia apologizes for being late for lunch (which there's no time for now). She may have solved Cane's immigration problem. Tell me on the way, Malcolm follows Sophia out.

At GCM, Lily rejects the idea of discussing Cane's immigration problems - it's so unfair that her recovery will mean his deportation. If all else fails, Lily and the twins will emigrate to Australia. Too dangerous? Australia's a big place - the criminals after Cane won't even know he's back. Sure, Lily needs her Dad - but the twins need their Dad to. Enter Malcolm and Sophia - who may have solved their problem.

Jack chides Emily for not getting enough rest - worrying too much about her AWOL patient. We both can't be workaholics. A soaking wet Phyllis arrives to hug Jack - then exchange awkward 'Hey's' with Emily.

An unconscious Adam's wheeled into GCM's emerg. - Sharon trailing after him, head in her hands. Victor arrives to offer a supportive hug. He'll call Baldwin - Faith's with Nikki - Nick's on his way. Don't talk to the press, Victor warns as he marches off. Oh look - it's an angry Skye (with the press). 'No comment', Sharon mumbles to the microphone in her face. What did you do to my husband!? Skye demands (as Nick approaches quietly).

On Tucker's behalf, Sophia's been negotiating with a company from the Australian town Cane's from - he can act as liaison - get an 8 month work visa (which'll give him time to work out a permanent solution). Tucker thinks highly of Cane (and his loyalty to Kay). She does too - we're gonna be family, right? The Ashby's look happy.

Mike suggests both Lauren and Jill need time to acclimate to the situation. The only thing Jill's acclimating to is Lauren's father's money. YOU saw the way she reacted. It's a mistake to think Lauren's vulnerable - she's handled tougher bitches. No, Jill's no Sarah Smyth (but Mike thinks Lauren's been reacting as if she is). Mike's then saved by Victor's call - I'm on my way - some crisis with Sharon. Bye ~kiss~ That leaves Lauren to call Ester - looking for Jill. But wait - there she is on the evening news - at Neil Fenmore's grave site (which more than slightly annoys Lauren).

Skye wants answers - her husband could be dying in there! Big bad Victor marches over to toss the media the hell out - then scolds Skye - THIS is how she shows concern? YOU disowned him! Skye feels she has more right to be there than ANY of them. The doctor then updates that Adam should be alright. Yes, Skye can see him - come this way. Sharon's relief is short lived. An officer appears (with questions about 'the shooting').

Skye perches at the unconscious Adam's bedside - hey - no rest for the wicked. Tearing up, she asks him to wake up (to watch 'them' squirm). Maybe now that poor little Sharon's tried to kill him, he's learned his lesson. Skye knows one thing - Sharon's gonna learn hers.

Sharon won't talk without a lawyer (who's on his way). The officer has the clear cut answers anyway - she tried to kill her ex husband. Don't answer, Nick snaps (as Sharon's jaw drops).

What are you doing here? Finishing the job? Skye snaps when Sharon creeps in. Sharon had the paramedics call Skye - because she thought Skye cared (yet she used it as a photo op). As Skye continues her accusations, Nick comes to send Sharon out to Mike. You're a real piece of work, Nick snarls. Bet you say that to all the girls, Skye snaps back.

When Nick joins Sharon and Mike, he's assured that she can handle this on her own. Having gotten rid of Nick, Sharon explains that she thought someone was trying to break in - she called out a warning. Who's gun? Nick's - he was worried Adam might come back. Come back? Yes - he'd already been there. No - he wasn't invited. No - Adam doesn't make threats - he tells Sharon he loves her - wants to hear it back. How did Sharon react? She threw him out - and thought he was gone. No - she had NO idea it was Adam behind the door. Yes - Mike believes her - but a jury might not.

At Jack's, Phyllis agrees that Adam's behind Patty's escape (as she was about to recant her expression). He can't have her talking - maybe he slit her throat, she blurts out. Troubled by the comment, Emily goes to make coffee - leaving Phyllis to relay Victor's settlement offer. Yes - she told him where to stick it. She got a flat - a cut hand - and ran into Nick (who was checking up on Sharon). Phyllis then confides kissing 'this other guy' (in front of Nick). Deacon Sharp? The guy who set Daniel up for murder!? What is wrong with you!? Jack's horrified.

The Ashby's have a private chat. Cane's not 'jumping' at Sophia's offer - because it's a bit too coincidental. Neil doesn't trust Sophia - and Tucker doesn't trust Cane (knowing he was spying on him). He didn't fire you - gave you a leave of absence, Lily reminds - maybe he DOES admire Cane's loyalty. Maybe the angle IS 'scoring points'. Who cares - let's take the 8 months ~hug~ Cane then thanks Sophia - he's grateful. Malcolm gets his share of thanks too ~hug~

Phyllis denies she's 'mixed up' with Deacon Sharp - she was just lashing out. This isn't the old Phyllis - this is HER - someone not suppressed by her husband - who's inappropriate. She's now her own woman - no longer Nick's wife. It hasn't been an act - but it WAS exhausting. I've been so stupid, she rants - Nick didn't change for HER - he remained exactly who he was - Sharon's husband, lover, protector. It's not a fairy tale if you have to change yourself to live it. In the background, Emily seems deeply effected by the words.

Standing over Adam, Nick regrets not taking Sharon home with him. She didn't shoot Adam in revenge, Victor doesn't think it 'in her'. She must have felt her life was in danger - Adam could have answered when she called out. He wanted her terrified - and got what he deserved. Look - he's waking up ...

At Neil Fenmore's grave site ((1938-1987), Jill tells her tale of woe. Of course she can turn on the tears when the camera's rolling. We're live in 5,4,3,2 ... As the news reporter begins interviewing a weepy 'Ms Fenmore', Lauren arrives to accuse Jill of spinning a web of lies - making a spectacle of herself. She's Lauren Fenmore - and there to make sure they get the real story.

Lauren admits she was surprised by the DNA results - and disappointed - disappointed that Jill didn't give her time to adjust - before going on the attack. I'm not on the attack, Jill wails. You're desecrating my father's grave for some cheap publicity stunt! Lauren shouts. Lauren then talks of what an amazing man Neil Fenmore was. You won't even show my photos, Jill whines. Lauren talks of the law suit - the Fenmore name means nothing but cold, hard cash to you! You are the same gold digger you always were. There's no store - no job - no money - and if Jill ever does anything like this again, she'll be slapped with a restraining order.

The Ashby's are more than eager to begin 'kangaroo care' - cuddling that promotes many health benefits - that will help the twins thrive.

As Emily continues to listen, Phyllis tells Jack that she's leaving town - no thanks to the cabin. As she goes to call the babysitter, Emily serves Jack's coffee. Getting a brief update on Phyllis, Emily claims that it's better to stop and think before heading down the wrong path (but it's clear she's talking about herself more than Phyllis).

The doctor shines a light in Adam's eyes - telling him where he is - who's there. Adam looks through his tunnel vision to take them all in (including the ranger). Yes - Adam remembers what happened (Sharon waits nervously).

At the club for lunch, Sophia does indeed know how much Malcolm loves her. You may have saved Cane's life, Malcolm talks of the bad dudes in Australia. Even Neil will appreciate it. Asking to see Sophia's ring, Malcolm gets on bended knee - to propose again. Of course Sophia will marry him ~kiss~ The waiters and fellow patrons stand to applaud.

Lily and Cane are each rocking a baby (still at GCM). Of course Matilda's relaxed - Daddy's arms is the safest place to be.

As the cameras roll, Jill can't believe Lauren knows so little about family - she cares about the Fenmore family (including little Fen) - and the family business. She just wants to feel close to her father. You wanna feel closer to Daddy? Lauren shoves Jill into an open 6 foot deep hole. Looking down at Jill (who's flat on her back), Lauren tosses a handful of dirt - THAT close enough for ya!?

Phyllis is all set to leave town (whether Nick likes it or not). Emily admires her strength. And with a hug, Jack looks forward to Phyllis' triumphant return. You may not like the Phyllis that comes back, she warns.

All stand around Adam's bed - as Victor, arms folded, asks for his version. Sharon shot me, he states. I knew it, Skye scowls (while Nick claims it was self defense). As the ranger's about to arrest Sharon, Adam flashes back to Sharon's panic - and takes full responsibility - he tried to break in - Sharon was scared to death - Nick's right - it was self defense. It's my fault - all of it. Is that relief on Sharon's face - or more?

Next: She pushed me into an open grave, Jill rants to Kay (who all but shrugs) - I could have broken my neck! .... You can't back out now - for Kevin's sake, Jana (in the woods and with a backpack on) urges Ryder .... I'm asking you to coax information from your son - so, I can imagine you want a pretty big favour. Nothing you can't handle, Jill assures.

My Thoughts: Odd that Sharon's white wife-beater (and light shorts) still look fresh from the dry cleaner - no wrinkles, smudges of dirt - or blood (even though she's cradled a bleeding man - and puts her hands all over his wound). Funniest part - is when the doctor comes out all grave faced - to say 'he lost a lot of blood' (huh? lost it WHERE?) ... With Adam's questionable sexual habits - his stint behind bars - and that fact that no one in GC uses protection, you'd think she'd be a bit more cautious about contact with 'all that blood' (which, by the way, doesn't even puddle on the floor) .. LOL - Sharon looks at her hands - which should have blood on them - puts them to her throat, then her face ..... Um - where's the 'irony' in Jack warning Emily not to be a workaholic? And how is it an issue they BOTH 'struggle with'? I can't remember the last time I was Jack do anything remotely like work. He's more a lunch-at-the-club-aholic. Just cause you put a suit and tie on doesn't mean you're working ..... Why oh why would Skye summon the paparazzi to the hospital? Without even knowing what happened? Would a woman who's been on the run for over a year, want a 'photo op'? Isn't anyone gonna question her on the dead body ID'd as hers? Didn't it occur to Skye that Adam might done something she wouldn't WANT on the evening news? ... And on to the other roving news team - Why wouldn't they have called Lauren to weigh in on Jill's interview? Won't anyone wonder why Jill didn't take her big story to RS - her son's magazine (and one she sporadically works at)? If the story's big enough for LIVE broadcast, you'd think Billy would want to post it online - Jill is his mother after all ... Did Jill even notice that she's trampling all over her father's grave? But really - flimsy yellow construction tape is supposed to prevent folks from falling into empty graves? Neil Fenmore must be buried in the alley behind CL's - based on how quickly Lauren got there ... Of course Lauren didn't learn anything from her encounter with Sarah and Daisy - just like she hasn't learned anything being married to a lawyer. What will Mike have to say about Lauren physically assaulting Jill (on camera). Since money's what Jill's after, it'd be ridiculous if she didn't sue (or threaten) to sue Lauren ... The staff at GCM sure have short memories - don't they have any security to post outside Adam's curtained cubicle? Someone who might prevent access to the woman suspected of shooting him? (or the father and brother who also want him dead)? ... Since Phyllis' current and ex husband both have cosmetics companies, you'd think she'd have top of the line WATERPROOF - non running, mascara. But no .... The Ashby's really needed a three fold brochure to instruct them on how to cradle their babies? Then - they rock the kids with their blankets barely on - and no little knit caps on their heads? ... Notice that the 'bag guys' who're after Cane are now referred to as 'dangerous criminals' - guess they gave up the cattle rustling business (or realized how ridiculous it sounded).
