Please note that there were issues with my recording today. Due to a heavy rain storm, it kept stopping and starting. As such, I missed 2 minutes in the middle of the show - and the last couple minutes (which may have just been tomorrow's preview).
At GCM, the Ashby's (along with Devon and Malcolm) are delightedly surprised to hear that the twins can go home today.
At the Abbott home, Ashley's extremely grateful for Neil's call. His encouragement will help her to get through today (Adam's trial). Hanging up, Neil's joined by Sophia (at the club). They butt heads on whether she's late - and why she's choosing an Australian company (over the one in Iceland). Malcolm's call interrupts (with the good news). Making a point of NOT updating Sophia, Neil will get back to her (regarding the Aussie company) AFTER he speaks to Kay - then marches out (leaving her to huff and shake her head).
Nikki finds Meggie dressed to impressed (and summoning the car for another shopping spree at Fenmore's, she hurries out). I've tried to be patient with that woman, Nikki snips at Victor (hands on her hips). For someone who's supposed to be in danger, she sure is out there - spending their money (and taking advantage). If Victor doesn't say something, Nikki WILL.
Lunching in the Abbott dining room, Ashley's sorry to hear that Emily's gone. And Vikki dumped me, Billy mopes. Jack's not overly impressed when Tucker lets himself in (to hug Ashley). And 'surprise' - he flew Traci in on his private jet (so Ashley could have her entire family's support for Adam's hearing). Peeking through the open door, Abby smiles - Aunt Traci (but not entering, her smile fades to a look of regret).
In the hallway, Nick finds Adam assuring Sharon that he'll fire his lawyer if he attacks her on the stand. What the hell are you doing here? Adam's not there to fight (and having said what he came to say - leaves). Warned not to believe Adam's lies, Sharon announces that this time she DOES.
Skye doesn't care what Adam says - SHE'S the one paying Vance (who's ordered to annihilate Sharon). Following them into the suite, Adam's pissed that they're going behind his back. This is his last warning - leave Sharon alone!
Nothing says 'love' like a bullet, Skye scoffs (then hisses at Vance to talk sense into his client). Vance DOES have a problem - a big one - with not being able to cross examine Sharon. Despite Vance's warning that he's going to prison , Adam stands firm with his 'order'.
Meanwhile, down the hall, Sharon relays Adam's assurances. She's not too stupid to think for herself - and if she needs protection, it's from BOTH Adam and Nick. Sharon WILL tell the Judge how she was victimized (and showing Nick the door, lists why she's mad at him - and Adam - and herself, for letting her guard down. A mistake she'll never make again).
Back at the ranch, Nikki's arms are still folded - we don't know this woman's in danger - she could be playing us. Victor sees no harm in Meggie having some fun in a department store. He'll deal with it after Adam's trial. Feeling better, Nikki will handle Meggie - he can handle Adam's trial.
On the front step, Abby's hugged by Traci. Not everyone's favourite person, she's not sure if she should go in. Yes, Traci knows of her arrests (but laughing about some of Colleen's stunts, isn't angry at Abby). Come on inside - Ashley will be moved that she's there with good intentions.
Inside, the Abbott brothers watch as Ashley thanks Tucker (who has a conference call to take). I'll be thinking of you, Tucker says with a farewell hug. Getting a chilly reception (and some verbal jabs), Abby opens her purse - see? No camera. Practicing her testimony, she got creeped out about Adam (so didn't want to be e alone). But was coming there a mistake?
Arriving at the courthouse, Sharon's greeted by Owen - you're up first. Adam arrives in time to hear that she's not having second thoughts (and will tell the Judge everything Adam did).
Seated with Ashley, Abby claims she didn't mean to her her - of Victor. Well, she has. Ash can't condone Abby's actions. That said, Ashley loves her so much - and couldn't have made it through the Adam episodes without her ~hug~ Squirming away to fetch her sunglasses from the car, Abby leaves Traci to claim she's hiding a scared little girl. Ashley can relate - Tucker thinks she's strong - incapable of a break down (but is sure to hear the 'gory details' in court). In the dining room, Jack's relating too - it hurts like hell to get dumped.
At the ranch, Victor's glad that Vikki's seen what a jackass Billy is (though Nikki and Nick both know she's 'torn up'). No - she won't be joining them in court. But hey - it might cheer her up to see Adam getting beaten down. Nick will go invite her to come along.
When Meggie returns with 'quite a 'haul' - to wish the Newman's good luck - Victor leaves Nikki to say what she has to say. Looking down her nose at the 'impractical' high heels Meggie's purchased, Nikki reminds that she came with the clothes on her back (and accuses her of taking advantage of Victor's generosity). In fact, Nikki's not sure anything out of Meggie's mouth is true.
Nikki continues to remark on how much danger Meggie's really in (in her carefree, lap of luxury new life). Now Meggie's got her hands on her hips - Shaw Roberts is vicious (ask Victor). Oh, Nikki HAS discussed it with Victor. Why hasn't HE expressed his doubts? Because he's got important things to attend to. Nikki does too - and if Meggie's scamming them, God help her. As Nikki heads upstairs, an indignant Meggie shakes her head.
Lily and Cane each carry a twin - welcome home (then gently hand them off to Devon and Malcolm). Yes - Lily's fine - dreamt of this day - it's real, isn't it? ~hug~ Neil's sorry he's late - he got held up.
In the courtroom, Vance plots with Skye and Adam (something about a tainted jury pool). It sure will knock the DA off his game. Meanwhile, Ashley frets to Sharon about Vance (a force to be reckoned with). Something tells Sharon that there's no need to worry. Huh? We have the truth on our side, she quickly covers. Abby arrives to approach Victor (who agrees it a good idea to put their issues aside - for the trial). All stand as the Judge enters - then sit when the hearing is called to order.
Pomerance gives his opening statement - the court will hear from people victimized - pushed to their limits (Ashley flashes back to begging Adam to tell her what happened to HER baby). The man responsible for this human carnage? Adam Wilson - who caused irreparable emotional pain (Jack flashes back to confronting Ashley - who's living on tea and nightmares). Owen lists the crimes against Adam - including murder. Nick flashes back to discussing Hightower's orphaned son with Adam. Taking his turn, Vance gestures towards the gallery - full of people with a vendetta against his client. Victor Newman - ignored his son his entire life - who now wants to obliterate him (flashback to Victor disowning - erasing him). The case hinges on one witness; Adam's ex wife - who CLAIMS she heard Adam confess. (Sharon's turn to think back - to luring him to the cabin - and their recent kiss). Vance is confident the Judge see what he sees - an innocent man, persecuted by vigilantes - and let him go home. The state calls it's first witness; Sharon Newman.
About to leave for court, Nikki finds the note Meggie left behind (apologizing for intruding and upsetting them). She then calls Meggie at CL's - what the hell does she think she's doing? Meggie won't stay where she's not welcome (or believed). Stay there - Nikki's on her way (muttering that Victor better be right about this woman).
A bath water thermometer - this is amazing! the Ashby's thank Sophia. How nice that she's finally in town (as she makes Malcolm so happy). Oh look - here's Tucker with a gift too. As Cane thanks him for the new job (that'll prevent his deportation), Neil scowls - wait a minute. That's why they chose Australia? Why didn't Sophia mention it? He didn't LET her. And as the tense crowd files into the kitchen for lemonade, Malcolm tells Neil to stop trippin' on Sophia.
As Neil claims that Malcolm's fiance has made it her life's mission to undermine him at CI, Cane and Lily referee. Yes - everything's OK, Neil heads of to his grand babies (then follows Tucker outside - it may be none of his business - but Ashley's gonna be reliving a horrible year - don't let her down). Tucker doesn't plan on it.
On the stand, Sharon talks of the note Adam scribbled (on the flight back from Tahoe) - your baby's alive. The baby he watched her grieve over. Yes, she suffered a concussion (so didn't remember until the night of the ball). Adam came to her room - and confessed (to covering Ashley's miscarriage - kidnapping her baby). Your honour - Adam told me everything, Sharon tells the Judge - he did it.
On the CL's patio, Shaw finds Meggie (and tries to wrestle her out). Coming up behind him, Nikki crashes a vase over his head (while Meggie smashes him with her purse). Call 911! Nikki shrieks (as Shaw cowers on the ground) - a woman almost got kidnapped.
My Thoughts: Yet again Traci, the human gift, is used to 'surprise' someone. They should really just shout 'Traci' whenever they throw a surprise Traci-party for someone. The real surprising part is that her husband never comes with her .... Traci's right - Colleen may have 'pulled a few things' - but come ON - she didn't take her clothes off nearly as much as Abby. That said, it is ironic that both sisters/cousins would find themselves nearly naked on the Internet. Brad would be so proud ... Abby was 'practicing' her testimony against Adam? Will this self absorbed twit use any excuse to be in front of a mirror? What exactly can she testify to? Her mother's mental state? It's not like she spent any time with Adam ... Why hasn't Estella been asked to testify? She lost her job and home because of Adam. Yet, despite her nephew being a lawyer, she's never included in Adam's victim list ... Oh please - Shaw's such a big bad tough guy that two middle aged women in heels can take him down - one with her purse? ... Where are the press for this big trial? (involving the Naked Heiress AND the Newman's) .... Why are the witnesses sitting in the gallery - instead of being sequestered waiting for their turn to testify? Since Sharon's the State's star witness (the only one who heard Adam's confession), why wasn't her blockbuster testimony saved for last? .. If Hightower's sister in law was interested enough to visit GC before Adam was charged, why isn't she there for his trial? .. So - Meggie's not lying - but she sure IS taking advantage of Victor's generosity. And where does she think she's gonna be wearing all these high end clothes? ... Why is Victor leaving Nikki to confront the strange woman HE brought into their home? Can't HE convey their concerns? Wouldn't it be better to present a united front? ... Who can blame Jack for being annoyed that Tucker just walks into his home - but, with Patty on the loose (and likely still obsessed with him) - why is Jack leaving his front door open?
