At CL's, Reed focuses on his ice cream sundae - while Mac dances around her answer on whether she'll move in with JT. This is a stress free zone. Noticing Lily's call, Mac lets it go to voicemail. At home, Lily leaves no message - then (with Cane) goes to peek at the sleeping babies. As the Ashby's are about to nap, Cane's phone rings (which results in a baby crying).
In the courthouse hallway, Kay demands Cane come down - talk some sense into Jill. Back inside, Lauren growls 'mother'. Mike's request for a recess isn't received well - and Ms Manning is ready to testify (on behalf of the plaintiff). Sworn in, Joanna's 'waited for YEARS to tell the truth about Neil Fenmore'.
In bed, Daniel and Abby giggle. Daniel's not worn out - but sure would love some lunch. Challenged to provide one, Abby skips off to the kitchen.
At Gloworm, the Bardwell's are delighted with their successful hot spot. As Glo's hardly one to cheer Kevin up, Chloe does. She's there to do a shoot for RS. Hearing it's his and Jana's anniversary, Chloe has just the cure - he can help with the photo shoot. Arriving with flowers, Jana frowns as Chloe works on cheering Kevin up.
After Chloe excuses herself, Kevin disappoints Jana - the flowers she received were a standing order - sorry - it's over - there's no going back.
Jeff introduces their new bartender - a hot blonde; Candy. And as he goes to show the new hire around, Chloe suggests Glo strike back (by hiring her OWN bartender). And where's that Daniel? .....
This is dry cereal and toast - NOT cooking, Daniel complains. It IS a meal, Abby's won the bet. All kidding aside, neither want a serious relationship (but getting 'busy' is OK) ~kiss~
Mac reluctantly answers Lily's call. Yes, she can come over to check out the nursery (since she can bring JT and Reed).
On the stand, Joanna talks of a strained marriage - to a man she could barely stand. Yes - she knew about the illegitimate daughter Neil 'brooded' about - that child was responsible for turning her own daughter into a spoiled brat. How DARE you! Lauren launches to her feet.
As Abby does her make up, Daniel talks of the photo shoot he's doing for RS (at Gloworm). Yeah, Abby can come. They bet again on whether Gloria will be happy to have her there.
Would you like to see the stockroom? Jeff purrs at Candy. I'm here about the bartending job, a young man arrives. You've GOT to be joking - follow me - before Kevin sees you, Glo leads the mystery man off.
Kevin's not up for a stroll down memory lane. In tears, Jana hoped they could help one another through a difficult day. Chloe marches over - checks out Kevin's butt. Come on (he's gonna be a model).
At the Ashby's, Lily talks of the hard Mommy work she loves. As Reed's taken off for markers, JT reminisces about him and Vikki running on fumes. One day, Mac WILL experience it. Not smiling, Mac's lead off to see the nursery.
Joanna continues - Neil was mourning the death of Jill's mother when she met him. He wasn't able to find the child - so gave Lauren everything she wanted (turning her into an obnoxious, entitled girl). When Neil wrote his will, he KNEW he had another daughter out there. Though Mike gets Joanna to admit that Neil loved Lauren more than he ever did Joanna, the Judge must rethink his decision. As Kay scolds Jill - oh, how COULD you, Lauren stops her mother in the hallway - she won't let her 'run away' - not this time!'
As Glo hides her mystery man away (telling him to keep his mouth shut), she then thanks Chloe for distracting Kevin from his problems. And as Chloe convinces Kevin he'll be a fine model, Glo tries to get rid of the hovering Jana.
Lauren, the 'drama Queen', doesn't understand how Joanna can side with a woman she hardly knows - over her own flesh and blood. Back in the court room, Cane defends Jill (from a livid Mike - and a disapproving Kay). As Mike and Kay retreat, Jill thanks Cane for defending her (but looks hurt when he implies she's not handling this the right way).
In the nursery, Lily OK's Mac having a moment alone with the sleeping twins. And as Lily confirms with JT that something is wrong with Mac - she could use a friend right now. An emotional Mac quietly tells the sleeping twins how much she enjoyed their 7 months together - if she goes away, it's temporary. When she's stronger, she'll be back. Don't forget me - cause I'll never forget you. Oh look - and here's Lily - to ask if Mac will be the twins Godmother.
Mac suggests Lily ask a family member - or a friend. She was happy to surrogate - but somewhere along, developed an attachment that spiraled out of control. It's NOT OK. They can only have one mother - and you're it. No - Mac doesn't regret it - but - she feels this pull she's not allowed to (and it's eating her up inside). It won't last forever - one day she'll be able to spend time with the babies - but Mac must put her needs first (so can't be their Godmother). Lily understands - but Mac's always welcome to be part of their lives.
At the door, Glo's not trying to be mean - but Jana stalking Kevin will upset customers. As Kevin and Chloe are ready to model, Glo thanks Abby for the wonderful publicity. Abby 2 - Daniel - 0 (in the bet department).
Joanna denies hating Lauren - what does she want from her? It's not like Lauren will be poverty stickmen. Lauren rants about her mother's lack of maternal instinct - does Joanna even know she was kidnapped? Joanna's sorry she's so - bitter. Lauren's not bitter - she's relieved - this time she's done with her mother. Stay the hell out of my life! Marching back inside, Lauren cries in Mike's arms (as, watching, Cane tries to get Jill to do the right thing - is what she gets today worth what she's giving up?). The Judge has reached his decision ....
Cane returns home to hear that Mac declined being the twins Godmother - she needs distance from the babies. OK - who else? Liv? Roxy? ... Wait - Lily thinks she knows who they can ask ....
Judgment for the plaintiff - Lauren's to turn 50% of Fenmore's assets over to Jill immediately. Jill celebrates briefly - no hard feelings? she extends a hand (which Lauren ignores). Lauren assures Kay that she has NO intention of working with Jill - or giving her a dime of her money.
Jeff admires Candy's tattoo, Glo, not so much. Candy will be a wonderful addition - but Glo hired another bartender. Cackling, Jeff guesses she hired a young stud to make him jealous.
As Kevin and Chloe (in old fashioned fancy dress) pose to jazz music, a devastated Jana spies from outside - then completely destroys the flowers.
Back at CL's, Mac serves Reed (who's then sent to wash his hands) - then gives JT a big kiss (touched by watching father and son together). Yes - she will move in with him ~kiss~
Cane talks to one crib - then another (trying to explain the lawsuit - promising them love - and just wait til you meet your GodMom). In the Abbott living room, Lily's with Traci - talking of Colleen coming to her in her dream - we want YOU to be Charlie and Matilda's Godmother. In tears, Traci agrees.
Kevin's glad to see Daniel's over Amber - but - really - the Naked Heiress? Yeah he sent Jana packing - he's putting her behind him. Daniel's stunned to see Deacon behind the bar (let out of hiding by Jeff). Daniel wait! Glo tries to explain. Save it - Kevin's also out of there. Smooth move, Jeff shakes his head - amused.
In the hallway, Jill thanks Joanna for helping her win her case. Joanna doesn't give a damn about Jill (who's then dissed by Kay - enjoy you're millions). Jill's attorney can't celebrate with her either - he'll send the bill. Still inside, Mike's not sure Lauren should appeal - she may have to deal with Jill (as a partner). No - Jill's gonna have to deal with ME, Lauren smirks.
Next: As Paul talks of this 'avoidance dance', Chris shuts him up with a passionate kiss .... Sharon warns Adam - I'm gonna testify against you - and help all those people win their case ... Skye (with Adam) approaches Jack at Gloworm - to offer him equity in the Newman Fund.
My Thoughts: If Lauren was smart, she'd start selling off and hiding money ..... Why would Cane go to court to support Jill - then leave before the Judge came back with his verdict? Didn't he think Jill might need his support (if she lost?) ... How touching - that Traci's gonna be the twins Godmother (though you'd think Lily'd pick someone who's around more - and has SEEN the twins) - if being around isn't a criteria, I can't imagine why Aunt Liv wasn't asked. Declining, Mac suggested Lily ask a 'friend' (sad that Lily's only friend is dead) ..... Reminded of what a despicable woman Joanna is, it's no wonder Lauren was such a bitch on wheels as a teen (and a wonder she turned out to be a basically good and kind hearted person) ... Even Gloria could give Joanna tips on mothering (though I'm not sure why Glo thinks Kevin will feel better by focusing on HER success) .... How nice that RS's now using Gloworm as a photo studio - but why not do it when the place is closed (not that there's any customers there - but surely the staff needs to prepare for the dinner service)? ... Really Jeff - can't you at least be discreet when fawning over women other than Gloria? And you'd think Candy would dress a bit more upscale for her job interview .... WTH would Glo hire Deacon Sharp? But I guess - if the upper crust are gonna overlook the Bardwell's owning the place - I guess they can overlook the crook behind the bar (though they might think twice about handing their credit cards over to run a tab) ... Isn't Lily undergoing chemo again? Weren't the stem cell infusions to get her strength up to go another round? Given the Ashby's wealth (or rather that of their family's) - why is Lily working herself to the point of 'exhaustion'? Get a nanny for crying out lout. And get the kitchen counters lowered. I just noticed, they're almost to Lily's armpits .... Abby sure fell for the oldest trick in the book - being manipulated into serving the lazyass Daniel lunch in bed .... Awww - poor l'il rich Jill - no one to celebrate her victory with (maybe Billy will agree - if only to pump her for rights to her story). Kinda odd how rude her lawyer was (he didn't seem to mind socializing when Jill invited him to the Chancellor BBQ) ... Why does Abby have to pick mouth sizes pieces off her toast - insteada just putting it in her mouth? And since Daniel's bed is about 10 feet from the kitchen, why does he seem surprised when he gets toast and dry cereal? Did he not hear the toast pop? Or see Abby taking cereal outta the porbably bare cupboards?
