At CL's, Nina's all stressed out (having not heard from Ronan or Chris). How long does it take to get someone tested? Here's Heather - but she hasn't heard anything either (and is equally stressed). Come ice skating, Paul insists (trying to get both ladies mind off it). Oh look - here's Ronan. Maybe Heather won't be a 3rd wheel after all.
Daniel's at Jimmy's - on his phone checking on paternity results (that aren't in yet) Enter Chloe - no word on Daisy or the baby? Flashing back to swiping the pacifier, Daniel says no - and has Jana regained her memory yet? Nope - but Chloe's assumption that Kevin can't escape Jana is proven wrong when he marches over to kiss her (Daniel's cue to leave). Kevin shares great news - Jana's therapist has enrolled her in a group session - tonight. Great - we can finally be together, Chloe's happy - 'just the two of us'. Yup - and Kevin's already booked at room at the club - to finally 'pop the cork' ~kiss~
Arriving at the mausoleum, Vikki and Billy (with Lucy) offer condolences to the Murphy's.
Jill snaps out of her daze to take the baby - family IS what she needs right now. Also arriving, Lauren wordlessly embraces her weeping sister.
On the morgue hallway, Collin talks to the dead Blake - wishing he could feel the pains he's caused so many today. He won't rest until Blake feels the distress HE feels. Along comes a staff member - wondering who will claim the body. He can rot in hell, Collin marches off.
Lily takes Cane's hand - you're so cold - you can't be gone. She has so much to say. Lily weeps for the time wasted (now understanding why he didn't confide his past). Wondering if he heard her declaration of love, Lily now hugs her dead husband.
Outdoors, gathered around a fire. Heather, Paul
and Nina laugh with Ronan (who vows to skate circles around them). A hockey player, his mother .... It's OK to talk about her, Nina encourages. Ronan then confides that she was an amateur figure skater. The mood is jovial, as all challenge Ronan to show of his moves. And off he goes to rent skates.
Get a room, Daniel teases Chloe and Kevin (attached at the lips). We did, Kevin says (and his ringing phone indicates it's ready). If anyone asks, you have NO idea where we are, Kevin and Chloe speed out - but come to an abrupt halt when Cane's death is announced on the TV behind the bar.
Back at the mausoleum, Ester's so shaky she can't serve Kay's coffee without burning herself. Poor Matty and Charlie. There IS something they can do, Billy goes to fetch his laptop (to post a piece on Cane).
Meanwhile, Lily assures the dead Cane that she won't let the twins forget him. They WILL know their Dad was a brave man who died protecting them. She'll take them to Australia - blah blah blah. They need you - I need you, Lily whimpers. Neil joins her - if only he COULD tell her 'it's all a dream'. Alas, it's time to say 'good bye'. 'I love you' - Lily would give anything in the world to hear Cane repeat those words back to her. And giving Cane a peck on the forehead, Lily's escorted out by Neil.
Chloe pales - this can't be happening - Cane can't be dead. Off to the mausoleum, Chloe drops her purse. It's NOY OK, she cries (as she picks stuff up) - it's Chance happening all over again! Kevin stoops down to give her a hug.
Lucy in her arms, Vikki can't believe Billy (back with his laptop) is thinking of writing an article. Forget about the damn magazine for once, Jill agrees (as does Kay). Calm down - Billy explains that Lily WANTS him to do it. Collin arrives to overhear Billy say that Cane died saving his wife and kids (from Blake) - he wants people to know Cane died a hero. Alrighty then - let's set up that computer.
Now at home, Lily's in a robe, Charlie on her knee - talking about taking life for granted (and how life goes on for everyone else). Neil offers support - then lets Devon in (to hug his sister).
Laced into his skates, Ronan's briefly teased by Heather (until he collapses). Ronan? OMG - are you alright? Apparently not. Paul, Nina and Heather gather around him (as 911 is called).
Lily shares her grief with Devon (talking about taking Cane to a Paris cafe - to watch the sun rise etc.). Oh, the memories they would have made. Devon talks of the rare love Lily and Cane had (that no one can take away). The past is hers - but they stole my future, Lily gripes.
At the mausoleum, Lauren will handle calling Jill's brothers. But where's her cell phone? Flashing back to swiping Jill's phone at the club, Collin claims she dropped it at the church. Lauren and Vikki are both surprised to hear about the wedding. As Collin goes to fetch Jill's phone, she frets that she'll never know why Cane was at the church. Kevin and Chloe arrive to offer support. Jill thanks all for their support - and how nice to have her new granddaughter there. Oh yeah - Billy introduces Chloe to Lucy.
At GCM, the doctor comes out to inform the worried Nina (with Heather and Paul) that
Ronan will die without a liver transplant. Told they'll be able to see him soon, Nina's desperate to reach Cricket (to see if Chance is a match) - and touched that Heather had herself tested too (though she isn't a match). Joining the ladies, Paul leaves an urgent 'call me' message for Chris.
Back to the not-so-merry widow (who's almost out of diapers). Lily then talks of Dru's death. Who thought anything could ever hurt as much?
Heather, Paul and Nina are pleased to see Ronan feeling 'awesome' (and ready to perform skating stunts). Anything they can do? Got a spare liver laying around? Ronan's sure Chris will call when there's news. Go on home. The TV on, all are stunned to hear that Cane's been shot dead. OMG. Poor Lily! Poor Kay! Poor Jill! Paul walks Nina out, leaving Heather to hold vigil - she's not goin' anywhere.
Kevin at her side, Chloe's updated on the speedy adoption (which doesn't really surprise her). If they're 'serious' about being parents, why didn't they inform Chloe; the mother of Billy's other daughter (who should be prepared). And when Daniel chimes in his defense, Chloe's further irritated (that he was told first) - and what's this?! Kevin knew too?! Great!
Lauren and the Murphy's worry about Jill; so vulnerable. That's why Jill feels lucky to have him. You don't know anything about this man. Jill knows she can count on him.
On the front step, Collin listens to the message Cane left on Jill's phone (frantically warning her not to marry him - he has something to say that'll change everything)
Uh oh.
Nina joins the mopers at the mausoleum - sorry about Cane (and updating on Ronan). Billy reads his article aloud (painting Cane as a hero - and the legacy he left behind). Jill and Collin are the first to approve - but there's questions still not answered. Jill wants the Aussie's who were blackmailing Cane to pay. Nina steps aside to take a call - my God (clearly it's bad news).
Lily sends Neil and Devon off to bed (wanting time alone) - to view the touching good- bye video a weepy Cane left for the twins (which of course reduces her to tears).
Cane wraps it up - I'll be back soon. But even if the twins can't see him, he'll always be with them. I love you.
Kay wonders if Nina's call was about Ronan. No - it was something else, Nina spills her wine on Jill (who huffs off, her blouse 'ruined'). After Nina goes to check on Jill, Lauren leaves. Now it's down to Kevin and Chloe (who envies Jana being in a time warp). Watching Vikki and Billy dote on Lucy, Daniel gets a call - he's the child's father.
At GCM, Chris enters Ronan's full room with news - Chance is a match.
Nina follows Jill to her room - but who the hell is this strange man in her room!? It's Chance! (with a beard).
Next: Chance is already her in GC, Chris smiles. Beside Ronan's bed, Heather beams - Chance is home!? .... The trial is a few days away - we can't risk anyone knowing Chance is alive, Nina explains to the stunned Jill ... Kevin drops the bomb on Jana - we're divorced - have been for quite some time now.
