At Lily's, funeral preparations take precedence over eating one of the casseroles Ester sent over - everything must be perfect for Cane. Passing the calendar, Lily mopes to Neil - Valentine's Day is almost here - a reminder of what she lost.

On the patio, Sophia's now contacted all their guests - the wedding is officially cancelled. Malcolm, however, doesn't agree that it's due to a death in the family. If Cane hadn't died, they still wouldn't be getting married on Valentine's Day, he grumbles.

At the mausoleum, Collin leaves a message for Jill (wanting an update on Nina and Ronan).

At GCM, all gathered in the waiting room wonder why Dr Nate's so intense - could something have gone wrong with the operation? They then hear Nina flipping out - Ronan died!? No - the operation was a success - but he was hustled off in a helicopter. Dr Nate's just as shocked and appalled as they are - but apparently it was ordered by the FBI. Nina runs out to scream at Chris - did you send Ronan away!?

Chris is just as stunned as Nina. Murphy sums it up best - what bureaucrat nincompoop would have him moved in that condition. Nina continues to blame Chris (who runs off to find out). Paul and Heather are also on the case - leaving Jill to console a sobbing Nina (while Chloe just looks bewildered).

Back on the patio, Malcolm doesn't think this the time or place - he still has issues with the way she mishandled Cane. Sophia insists he sit - as they argue about who doesn't trust whom. You run all YOUR business decisions past me? Sophia argues - does Malcolm want his ring back? Baby are we over?

At the Ashby home, Neil and Lily chuckle over photos. Is there a 'goofy' pile? Oh, what a prankster that Cane was. They then smile over a family photo - what a great Dad Cane was. Lily pouts over the one moment that plays over and over in her mind - Cane's last breath on those church steps. His head so heavy in her lap; his hand limp. In that moment Lily knew he was gone. What was that like? Did he feel at peace? Did he have something else to say? Lily will never know - and isn't sure she can ever be OK with that.

Hell yeah, Malcolm loves Sophia. Does he want his ring back? No. But what does Sophia WANT from him? Understanding - that she made a mistake. Malcolm can't just get over this (after the years of getting over the Dru/Lily situation). He can't go back to the way things were. Will he never forgive Sophia? He wants to (the unspoken 'but' causes Sophia to look worried).

Lily continues to wonder if Cane was trying to tell her his last secret. Neil understands - but wishes she wouldn't torment herself with questions that'll never be answered.

Still at GCM, Jill's on the phone updating Collin on poor Nina (and the situation). Ester hovers - as Collin informs he sent flowers and food over to Lily (which touches Jill immensely). Collin continues to play the devoted husband as he hangs up. Serving him tea, Ester's seen enough to consider that he's not such a bad guy after all (which he appreciates). And does he have an any news?

Assuring Chloe that she didn't tell Collin anything about Chance, Jill doesn't like keeping secrets from her husband - but Chance's safety comes first. Sometimes the whole truth can't be told.

Dr Nate tells Chance that everything's gone according to plan. Except for where my brother's concerned, Chance tells him and Philip. Nate's sorry he wasn't able to stop the transfer. Philip tells Chance to relax - they'll figure it out.

In the lounge, Chris hopes to get a reply to her urgent messages to DC. Jill and Chloe join her and Nina (and the Murphy's) to hear that none of Chris' agents knew anything either. Bidding everyone a good night, Nate leaves. After Nina and Murphy send Jill and Kay off to visit Chance, Paul returns - the surgical team didn't know anything - Ronan left with a small medical team (who didn't talk). Heather rushes over to add that the FBI ordered the transfer - no more info from the hospital administrator. Nina wants details - did Ronan know about this!? Heather thinks so - based on his last words to her. The bureau must have contacted him. OR, he contacted THEM - maybe it was HIS idea, Chloe stuns them all.

Mentioning that Devon's off making funeral arrangements, Lily's encouraged to put the photos aside for a while (by both Neil and Malcolm). But when she refuses, Malcolm (who knows a thing or two about photos) offers to help her. Neil off to change clothes, is told to sleep in his own bed tonight. Sophia? Malcolm shrugs - she'll be alright. Assured that Lily's in good hands, Neil leaves them to it.

Kay and Jill with Chance, snickerdoodle talk out of the way, Chance wonders about Ronan. No news - concentrate on getting well. Go home - rest, Chance orders.

Heather and Paul reject Chloe's crazy idea. But, is it really that implausible? Chloe continues - Ronan's FBI - he'd know how to disappear. Murphy scolds her for stirring things up (as does Chris - is she suggesting that Ronan went over her head?). He's lied - to everyone, Chloe lays it all out. Come on - he got what he wanted and left. Chris believes in Ronan's integrity - this plot isn't him. Plus, he has to come back to face us (for the trial). Philip's the only one to support Chloe - can't Ronan testify without being in court? Our son came out of hiding - got 'sliced' - for a brother he hardly knows - Ronan leaves without a word??? He confided in NO ONE. He used you all and walked away. You don't know him, Nina objects. Do YOU? Philip's question hangs in mid air.

Lily brings out a bag of Cane's stuff from Australia - a rugby award - a sea shell. A childhood photo (which will be blown up for the display). Both Lily and Malcolm are delighted to get a visit from Nate (who updates on the surgeries and expresses condolences). Off he's taken to sneak a peek at the sleeping twins (leaving Malcolm to study the photo of young Cane).

Meanwhile, at the mausoleum still, Collin's also moping over a photo (of him and Cane as a young boy).

How long have you known this man? Philip asks of Jill (who's announced that she's married). The Murphy's have to admit that Collin's been supportive since Cane's death - and Jill raves about her new husband ~hug~ Kay has many questions about the people in Australia. Philip will 'explain everything' later.

Meanwhile, Chris can't believe she's unable to reach anyone in DC. They're freezing her out. This is MY case, she grumbles - upset and unnerved that this decision (to move Ronan) didn't go through her.

Chloe goes to say good night to Chance (who wonders what's going on with Ronan). Chloe shares her theory- Ronan planned this whole thing. Why? It makes no sense to Chance. It does to Chloe - he's playing you.

Chloe gone, Nina wishes she hadn't dumped her theory on Chance. But could she be right? Philip wonders. Chance admits he and Ronan weren't close - but he had his back (and trusted him with his life). He never asked us for anything, Nina can't believe her son would do something so callous. Chance needs more evidence to judge.

Chloe leaving, has a few words with Heather (who smugly thinks SHE knew Ronan better than Chloe did). Ronan conned Chance and me? a sarcastic Heather's surprised he found the time. He had no real feelings for you - he's not capable of it, Chloe concludes.

Now back at the mausoleum, all tell Collin about Philip's relationship with Cane. Hopefully he can fill in the blanks, Kay hopes to learn more about the men who were after Cane.

A teary Sophia's at Neil's - full of apologies. Cane's death was her fault. She should have come to him (and those precious babies would still have their Daddy).

Flipping through photos, Lily sees a perfect life. She knew she didn't have the full story - but didn't want to admit it. Malcolm seems to relate - with staying with someone who's untrustworthy. Lily then relays Cane's reaction when she surprised him with tickets to Australia. And when Collin showed up, she knew something was wrong. Had she demanded the truth, would Cane still be alive? Alas, Lily hid her head in the sand - instead of doing what needed to be done.

Handed a box of Kleenex, Sophia continues to blame herself for Cane's death. Neil probably wouldn't have handled it the same way - but sometimes the truth should NOT come out. Is he talking about Cane? Neil considers that the people after Cane might have killed him no matter WHAT anyone did. Sophia wonders why Neil's not furious with her. Ahhh Sophia - Neil would do anything to protect his family. Lay down his life for them. What Sophia did came from the heart (he reaches out to grope her). He appreciates that. As far as Neil's concerned, she's been punished enough ~hug~

Malcolm's mantra is to avoid responsibility. Didn't he bolt (like a coward) when learning he was Lily's father? He's back to make things right. Bottom line - the moral is - we're all human - make mistakes - forgive (ourselves and others). How do you know what to believe in? Lily should believe in Neil, Malcolm, Devon, Nate - those precious babies. Aunt Liv - she loves you. Take the rest one day at a time ~hug~

Jill can't wait for Collin to meet Neil (which Collin also looks forward to). Chloe returns to the mausoleum - to take another dig at that little weasel, Ronan. Kay gently suggests her perspective might be biased by Cane's death (and her break up with Kevin). Yes Mom - Chloe admits she and Kevin are over. Most men suck, she concludes.

Heather now considers that Chloe's right - what if Ronan used all of us? Paul remains objective - and prays Ronan's the man they believe he is. Meanwhile, in Chance's room, Nina ponders her relationship with Ronan (thinking it meant something to him too).

Next: No no no - you're not chickening out, Abby's packing a gift bag (as Ashley smiles on at CL's). There's a very special girl - just waiting to see us. Daniel hardly looks in the mood for a party ... Kevin arrives at the festively decorated mausoleum (gift in hand) - sorry I'm late. I invited him, Ester tells Chloe (who remains unimpressed) ... We've got a live one, Jack tells Phyllis. He says he has video footage of the night Skye died, Phyllis announces.

My Thoughts: Oh great - Ester now gives Collin her seal of approval - cause we all know what great judgment SHE has in men ... CL's isn't the time or the place to get into 'it'? Silly Malcolm - busy, public places are always the perfect place for drama. Love how Sophia orders Malcolm to sit down - and how quickly he obeys. And how Malcolm always refers to Lily as his daughter (while he's still Uncle Malcolm to her) ... What was dying like for Cane? Lily wonders. Oh I dunno - painful? Maybe the 'something else' he had to say was 'ouch'. Maybe the only thing Cane wanted to 'get off his chest' was the gaping bullet wound ... Gotta hand it to Tricia Cast (Nina) - she sure knows how to deliver the emotions (anger and sorrow at least) ... Odd that Collin, a presumably rich and independent business man would move into Kay's overcrowded commune ... Odder - after a 6-12 hour surgery, Nate has absolutely no blood or evidence of perspiration on his pristine surgical scrubs - which look like they just came from the dry cleaners. And why didn't any of Chris' 'best' agents alert her to the fact that Ronan was being transferred by helicopter? ... Why would Malcolm even mention the cancellation fees involved in their no-go wedding? He's a world renowned photographer (and surely Sophia was earning good money at McCall Unlimited before she was fired). Money shouldn't be an issue. And I still don't get why he's blaming HER for Cane's death. And if he hadn't died, what's the reason Malcolm wouldn't have married Sophia? ... Valentine's Day was a special day for Lily and Cane (like it's not a special day for ALL those in love). Neil should be able to relate - he lost the love of his life too ..... Not to diss Cane's parenting skills (which will forever unproven) - but being able to 'relax' with a baby on your knee for the few seconds it takes to snap a photo hardly guarantees that one's a 'great (or 'natural') father' .... Of course Cane had a limp hand - like (fake) father, like son.... Huh? Jill (et al.) really believe that Collin was able to FORGET the slightly unusual story his new love interest told him (about Cane pretending to be Philip JR)? How could a story like that 'slip' his mind? ... . Neil goes on and on about protecting his family - there's 'no line' he wouldn't cross (yet he destroyed the 'family' Karen was trying to build (with him and Anna) - by sleeping with Tyra). Great that he hands Sophia the tissue box - too bad she never actually managed to squeeze out a real tear.
