At Tucker's, he's onboard with marrying Ashley at Kay's. Their family's coming together - but the Newman family's being torn apart. This isn't good for anyone. Tucker thinks it might be good for Abby (while Ashley feels no amount of money is worth her losing her father). Might not turn out as bad as you think, Tucker's got BofN on his mind as he hugs Ashley.
Phyllis joins Jack at G-worm (reading 'yesterday's news'). Guess who showed up at the arbitration. If Victor agreed to help Sharon - what did ADAM agree to in return? both wonder. Only one way to find out - Phyllis is off to find out what's going on. Dammit! Jack's left to mutter.
The arbitration still in progress, Sharon resorts to calling Adam (who ignores her call). Yes, Adam realizes he's confessing to a crime (forgery). The bickering begins (Mike insisting that Victor's still trying to sort out the mayhem Adam caused by Victor was grieving his wife's death). The Newman siblings stand abruptly. Ridiculous! This is outrageous! Vikki squawks (the Judge threatening that they're all in contempt).
The Judge orders everyone to SIT DOWN - the next person to speak without permission will be found in contempt. Yes, Mike has proof (to back up his witness; the original documents). Leslie's objections fail. With Victor standing to lose 3 billion, the Judge will consider ALL evidence. Glaring at Victor, Judge Phelps WILL find out (if this claim is bogus).
Impressed with Jabot's numbers this quarter, Ashley's surprised to be handed Beauty of Nature's sales 'impressive' figures. Imagine if we could merge the companies (something Ashley's sure Victor will never do). He won't have a choice - if NE goes public. Jack then enters - we've got a BIG problem, he frets (his jaw dropping when Ashley makes her presence known).
Still eyeing the guard posted outside the arbitration room, Sharon's back on her phone (and none too pleased when Phyllis arrives). Oh? Her helps no longer needed? Sharon's lap dog's in there with another way to help her? 'Tell me what's going on' Sharon's text reveals (and is again ignored by Adam).
The Judge will enter the documents into evidence - compare the signatures. Fine, Leslie can have her own expert evaluate them. Adam's also to provide a full deposition by the end of the day. Yes, Adam understands he'll be prosecuted if he's lying. The Newman's are then left with Mike (the siblings warning Adam that he'll be tossed aside). Sharon then comes in to take Adam outside (to accuse him of lying). Almost glued to Sharon as she applies lip gloss, Phyllis quips; shocking.
Sharon continues - perhaps she'll ask someone ELSE what's going on. On cue, Nick saunters out to tell all - the whole case could be thrown out thanks to Adam's FALSE testimony. I DID do it, Adam insists to Sharon. The others filing out, Phyllis asks Victor what he's doing for Sharon (in exchange for Adam's testimony) - but is hustled out by Mike (without an answer). Trust me on this one, Adam assures Sharon quietly. He can't 'go home' - he has things to do. Don't do this, Sharon whispers her plea. Explain it later? You can't, she exits disappointed. Nick then turns on Victor (whom he never thought would stoop THIS low). Don't know me that well do you, Victor scowls. I don't know you at all, Nick scowls back - I'm done with you. We all are, Vikki whispers. Come on son, Victor leads Adam out (leaving his siblings looking mighty worried).
Abby worries aloud - what if the Judge believes Adam - or the handwriting experts concur? We're gonna lose - I'll end up with nothing! It's possible, Vikki admits. Victor offered Abby TWICE what she'd asked for. She could have a relationship with her Dad AND her money (but I listened to YOU - and everyone else). Vikki used HER the same way Victor's using Adam (so, what's the difference!?) Ignoring Vikki, Abby marches out.
On the patio, Phyllis is sure Adam's lying (and know Mike knows it too). Adam's willing to perjure himself for Sharon. This is HER family - doing nothing is the same as condoning Victor's actions (and Phyllis can't let Summer think that). Nick suing his father isn't illegal (Victor's actions are). Phyllis will write what she 'knows'. Oh, that Jack initiated it? You DID know that didn't ya (but Mike knows very well that Phyllis is lying when she claims she did)
By the time Tucker ends a business call, Jack's had time to concoct a story - the big problem involves the cancellation of a contract. Both men hover as Ashley takes a call from a distressed Abby (who'll meet her at the Abbott home). Ashley updates how Victor's using Adam to win the lawsuit. She could walk away with nothing, Jack concludes. After Ashley leaves, Jack seethes - this man screws over his own kids. And YOU, Tucker reminds - if Victor wins they won't get BofN.
Back at the Abbott home, Abby's having a hissy fit (Ashley yelping as she arrives in time to duck out of the way of a flying framed photo of Jack and Abby). I hate him! He's a lying manipulative jerk - it was ALL Uncle Jack's idea! Every time she got cold feet, Uncle Jack stopped her from caving (or accepting Victor's offer). No hug! I just wanna do THIS to Uncle Jack (she stomps her heel into the photo). Ashley doesn't blame Abby - don't worry. I'll handle Uncle Jack.
Drink in hand, the optimistic Jack's still sure they can get BofN (and that he'll be running Tucker's new conglomerate). Oh - really. Jack's contract doesn't specify that in writing. He just so happens to have Jack's contract - open to item 14, paragraph 2 (which states that failure to secure said company will result in immediate suspension). But Jack hasn't failed - the lawsuit hasn't been decided. Too bad - he's suspended until he delivers BofN.
A weary Vikki and Nick are back at her place. Feeling responsible for the big mess, Vikki confides running into the laid off employee earlier. I never meant for this to happen - and poor Abby (she just wants her Dad to love her). After leaving Abby a 'call me' message, Vikki wonders if they made a mistake. Nick doesn't think so - and won't give up. OK - what next? Wait for Leslie - or Nick can go beat the crap outta Adam.
In Victor's office, Adam's signature samples - and the contracts are shipped off to Judge Phelps in a sealed envelope. Mike leaves, assured that Adam does indeed know 'what's at stake'. Victor then announces that once the Judge rules, he'll go to the police station (to share what he knows about Skye's death). We both get what we want. Adam's not so sure - Sharon looked at him with 'utter shame'. She'll be grateful, Victor's sure. The ends don't always justify the means, Adam pouts. No, 'not everyone's like Victor' - but Adam is. You've done a good deed, Victor concludes as his son walks out, head bowed.
Sharon goes knocking at Vikki's door. Hesitating, Vikki lets her in - to face Nick (so she can apologize for her part) She'll do everything she can to stop Adam (because it's 'right'). No, Victor won't like her interfering. I have to go, she pauses at the door. Knowing they feel Victor's won, Sharon claims 'it's not over'.
As Abby cleans up her mess, Ashley points out that she needs to take responsibility for her own actions. I get what I deserve? That it? Yes, Abby learned a lesson - not to trust anyone. Yes, she SHOULD have accepted Victor's offer. It's not too late, Ashley says. And wished 'good luck', Abby leaves (glaring at Jack on her way out). Ashley lets Jack she's not too happy with him (screaming about his feud with Victor). It's about Jabot! Jack then stuns Ashley with the news that HER boyfriend's firing him. Using Abby was the only way he knew he could deliver BofN to Tucker.
Back at his place, Tucker looks out the window. In his office, Victor stares out of his window too.
Abby returns to Vikki's - with another gift for her Goddaughter. Of COURSE she's still Lucy's Godmother (no matter what happens with the lawsuit). Neither Vikki nor Nick think Victor will ever change - but we're family (so off they go for a family dinner).
Sharon home, a nervous Adam questions her - and learns that she went to see Nick and Vikki (to tell them that she was gonna have him recant his story).
Phyllis isn't exactly the 'friendly face' Jack's relieved to see walk through his front door. She's not impressed that he's the one who talked Abby into the lawsuit. OK - tell me I'm a rotten bastard, Jack's ready for it. Why didn't you tell me? Already 'involved', Phyllis encourages him to 'communicate' (and is sorry to hear Tucker fired him). Yes - there IS something else Jack wants to communicate to her ~kiss~
Also looking to communicate, Ashley goes to Tucker (is there anything he wants to tell her about Jack, Abby and BofN?). Whaddaya want me to say? Ashley hoped he'd say it's not true - that Tucker didn't use her brother and daughter to get back at Victor. Tucker claims they mean a lot to HIM too - it was JUST business. Sounds like Victor, a weepy Ashley realizes - are you just like him, really? It may not change the way Tucker feels about Ashley - but is sure changes the way SHE feels about HIM.
Tucker explains that McCall Unlimited is his life's work - but not his life. Ashley is his life - the material things don't mean anything. Not sure she can 'believe that', Ashley leaves Tucker to look somewhat tormented.
On Jack's sofa, he and Phyllis pant and undress - as she encourages him to pursue BofN (and bring down Victor - and NE) ~kiss~
Sighing, Adam wishes Sharon hadn't told Nick and Vikki that she'd get him to recant. Yes, she DOES make him want to be a better man (which is why he's getting her off these MURDER charges). But Sharon doesn't want him to resort to his evil ways. You're better than this! Stop hating yourself for being the man you WERE - start being the man I know you ARE! It's NOT 'too late'. Sharon orders him to go back - tell them the truth.
At G-worm, the happy Newman kids take a seat. On his way out, Victor strolls by - ignoring them completely (except for a glare as he exits).
Next: Looks like Billy's interviewing Victor (who claims 'Reports of my company's demise are greatly exaggerated') .... Why are you lying to your mother? the new DA asks a conflicted Chance .... Maybe you should just dig - and come through - get it? Meggie says through the bars. I'm gonna bust you out!? an unhappy Deacon hisses back.
My Thoughts: Ha ha. Come on son, Victor nudges Adam along like he's 5 ... So - the kids are done with Victor? Guess that means Nick's gonna get a new job - move off Daddy's property? ... Huh? Adam will be prosecuted if he's found to be lying? But - if he's telling the truth he won't be? He'll likely face charges either way; forgery if he's telling the truth, perjury if he's not ... Funny how Adam's able to read text messages (given that he's legally blind). Guess that's why Sharon typed it in ALL CAPS. Odd that the Judge didn't scold Adam for having his phone out .... How convenient that Tucker just so happened to have Jack's contract on his desk - open to item 14, paragraph 2 (I wonder what items 1-13 encompass. Probably something about Jack never actually having to step foot in Jabot) ... Jack shouldn't have to 'guess' who showed up at the arbitration. With the press all over the Newman lawsuit, you'd think reporters would have seen him arrive (and um.. reported it). Speaking of which, is RS totally ignoring the only subject they ever write about? You'd think the Newman's would steer clear of G-worm (or any public place). Any reporters present, would have gotten a great photo op ... If Adam's just 'confessed to a crime', why isn't the Judge having him arrested for it? ... With all three of her clients standing up to shout across the table, why does Leslie make absolutely NO effort to calm them down? ... Why would Sharon have a private conversation with Adam - Phyllis inches away and listening? Couldn't she have lead him off a few more feet? .... Awwww - poor Ashley. And wait until she finds out that her Prince Charming cheated on her with Diane ... Nick's right - Adam IS a convicted felon (but so's Victor). And wouldn't that just add proof that Adam might have forged the documents? ... Her three kids in court to sue their father - a decision just around the corner, where on earth is Nikki? ... For all her self righteousness, Ashley sure didn't see anything wrong with Tucker getting his hands on BofN's sales figures. 'Impressive' is the word she used... As pissed off as Abby is, she really shouldn't be destroying Uncle Jack's property - tossing papers out of his briefcase (even if he is foolish enough to leave it laying about and open).
