Looking pointedly at Adam (and mentioning Sharon's name) Leslie gives him the opportunity to 'set the record straight'. Mike bulldozes ahead - once Adam admits to forging the trust funds, they'll be declared null and void - Adam can resume his life. And as Adam looks torn....
.... in the hallway, Sharon confronts Victor on blackmailing his son. This is the option Adam chose - he can walk out any time, Victor scowls. You're using him as a weapon - and sending me to prison for a crime I didn't commit, Sharon complains. Stay out of my business, Victor instructs.
At CL's, Vikki hopes Jana won't run into Kevin (as that'd be awkward). We're friends, Jana assures - we've both moved on. Enter Kevin, Chloe and Daniel. Must be hard - not having a say regarding your own kid, Daniel sympathizes with Chloe. Says the man willing to let HIS kid be handed off to strangers, Kevin grumbles.
At the mausoleum, Kay asks Jill if Lily's up to having guests. Huh? Collin's moving in? You can't be serious! Kay objects (worried that she's putting Chance's life at risk). AFTER Chance has testified, Jill plans to move her husband in. If SHE can handle Murphy's dead fish and 'gee shucks' attitude, surely Kay can handle Jill's sophisticated, suave husband (and his delicious accent). If not - move back to the trailer! Flustered, Kay shouts at Jill's back - no one knows what he's after - and she never got an answer about Lily!
Wheeling the twin's stroller onto the patio, Lily chases after a man she thinks to be Cane. Lily - you alright? Collin appears. Panting, a troubled Lily catapults herself into his arms.
Cockroach! Nikki screeches. Killing the insect, Deacon can't believe she's in a dump like this - ridiculous. Nikki suggests they get a room at the club. Live together? Deacon's all excited. Besides money (which is of no concern to Nikki) she wonders why he hasn't already said 'yes'.
Cut to Meggie (not too thrilled about GC lock-up's communal room's TV programming). Can't they show 'The Great Escape'? Handed the converter, she switches channels.
Still in the courtroom's waiting area, Sharon lambastes Victor - for disowning Adam - then taking him back 'into the fold' so he can save NE. Sad part is, poor Adam actually believes Victor might come through for him (though Sharon has doubts). She knows that Victor needed all of them to believe in the image he projects. But, one by one, they saw him for what he is - the cruelty; the selfishness. How ironic that Adam's the last one to believe in him. And once he's been screwed over, WHO will Victor have left?? Victor finds it ironic that SHE (of all people) is warning him about being a pariah (which is what Sharon is - to Ashley, Nick, her own children even - to be with this murderous con man. If anyone's a fraud it's Sharon.
Obviously skeptical, Leslie pushes Adam to pinpoint a date (when he forged Victor's signature). Alas, it's all a blur (literally) to Adam (though he can tell that colour's 'smashing' on Leslie). Scolded by Mike, Adam grins - strike that from the record (he sure doesn't need a harassment suit). No - there were no witnesses to the forgery. Speaking of which, the cocky Adam would like to order some dinner - anyone else hungry? Frustrated, Leslie leaves them for a few minutes (hoping that Adam will take things more seriously) Now alone, Mike snaps - what the hell game are you playing? Be utterly convincing, he warns. Eyeing Sharon (waiting nervously in the waiting area) Adam KNOWS what's 'at stake here'.
Grumbling sarcasm Ester's way, Jill answers the door - then welcomes the Governor in. He's there to see Jill - to offer condolences ~hug~ And as the Governor pours drinks, Jill confronts Kay (accusing her of summoning her former lover over). Does Kay really think she'd be unfaithful to her husband? How low! Maybe no one ELSE does, but Jill takes her marriage VERY seriously. The Governor peeking his head out, Kay's grins ear to ear. No - she won't be able to join them - but you two enjoy yourselves!
On the patio, Collin offers Lily an ear (since she feels she's already burdened everyone enough). The widow feels overwhelmed - going through the motions - the constant reminders of Cane. She counted on him to take care of the twins (if she's not around).
Joining the watchful Daniel (at CL's), Chloe's aghast (that the Abbott's hired 'Scary Poppins') - who woulda guessed. She'll only be 'happy' when Jana (who's fussing now over Lucy in the stroller) stops looking at Kevin like he's a 'walking carton of Rocky Road'. No - Jana hasn't 'moved on'. Both watch as Kevin stops to hand Jana the dropped blanket (and ask how her new gig's going). It's a fresh new start, Jana raves - but eyes Kevin long after he's walked away (as noticed by Chloe and Daniel). It's an act, Chloe hisses.
Refilling the thug's mug, Kevin would prefer they do business at G-worm. Yea - well, while Hogan's away, HE'S the boss - and if Kevin can't get Jeff to pay up, this place - Kev's family, friends - will ALL be involved. Looking over at the pair, Chloe's smile fades quickly.
When Leslie returns, Adam sticks to his story - he forged all three trust funds. No, his memories' no longer 'blurry. When Leslie again mentions Sharon, Adam's thoughtful - Sharon sees the man she WANTS him to be. But Victor sees what he really is - a punk who tried to take him on (but failed). What does Victor have on you? Leslie wonders. Strike that! Mike barks. And as the lawyers bicker, Adam escapes for some air. Victor extends his hand. Shaking it (as Sharon watches on), Adam hopes he did his Dad proud. Victor is proud - as long as Adam told the truth. Over Victor's shoulder, Adam meets Sharon's angry stare.
In the hallway, Mike quietly updates Victor on Adam's performance - relieved he didn't turn on him (which obviously crossed his mind). Adam then approaches Victor (who hopes Adam was convincing - the reviews weren't too good). Adam hopes Victor will keep his end of the bargain. Victor finds it ironic - those with the least integrity question everyone elses. Good job son, Victor concludes (ignoring Sharon as he exits).
At the club, Nikki calls Kay to say she's moving out. Hearing Deacon in the background, Kay's disappointed - darling, no, no - learn from your mistakes - why would she DO this? Hanging up, Nikki tells Deacon that people will just have to get over it - them living together. Overhearing, Vikki appears to expresses her disapproval too. Leave her alone, she snarls at Deacon (who apologizes - then goes to get Nikki's stuff). You can't have the man you love so now you're gonna ruin your life, Vikki sadly concludes.
On the patio, Lily confirms she's in remission - but still worries. Collin assures that the twins will never want for anything. Add him and Jill to those who'd take care of the twins (in Cane's memory). Lily's touched - how nice of you. After Collin exits, Lily's startled by Daniel (then confides thinking she saw Cane earlier). Scary thing is - she doesn't want it to stop.
Now home, Adam mopes. What must Sharon think of him. Sharon knows he acted out of love. Victor's the one who should be ashamed of himself. We're all better off without him, she concludes.
Seated at the club, Vikki can't believe her mother's 'in a relationship' with Deacon (the slimeball). Nikki assures that Deacon's a different person. It's only a matter of time before he hurts you, Vikki's warns.
At the mausoleum, Victor asks about Kay's confrontation with Meggie (and is told that she continues to goad, showing no remorse). Ding dong - Deacon arrives to pick up Nikki's things (forcing Kay to inform Victor that Nikki's moving to the club). As Victor exits, Deacon's prevented from following him - you're NO match for TGVN (or worthy of Nikki), Kay growls. Deacon's phone ringing, Kay tells him to answer it - as he leaves. Slamming the door in his face, she will NOT give him Nikki's things. What!? Deacon barks into his phone. To top it all off, poor Deacon better be figuring out a way to bust Meggie out. Nikki finding out that they were 'thick as thieves' might send her back to the bottle ~click~ Still on Kay's doorstep, Deacon panics.
Daniel sure CAN distract Lily from her problems. How's this? His baby's in the other room - and his girlfriend's gonna be her Godmother. Wow - weird, they agree (a state of being not restricted to just Lily).
Still at CL's, Vikki asks Jana to keep Lucy longer - she'll meet them at home. She gets a call from Mike - the deposition's over. No, Adam didn't recant his statement.
After the thug leaves, Chloe's told that he's Hogan's replacement. Nope - the plan's no longer to burn down G-worm - it's to hurt the 'pretty girls' in Kev's life. I'm pretty, Chloe gasps at Kevin, realizing she's in danger.
Jill makes it clear to the Governor that she's happily married (but somehow he's under the impression that she only married the Aussie so he could get a green card). That's what Kay told you!? Jill's horrified. And as the Governor applies more pressure, Jill jumps off the sofa. Katherine - get your carcass down here NOW! Kay descending as Collin arrives, the tables are quickly turned. He's perfect, Collin paws at the Governor (pretending to be gay). Jill cackles as Kay and the Governor squirm (what the hell's going on!? ). The Governor beats a hasty retreat - what in the hell were you thinkin!? Kay returns to shriek (as Jill and Collin giggle).
Sharon has a gift for Adam; a statue of an angel. Remember? At the feet of angels? That moment gave Sharon her answer. It was a turning point. Today wasn't - it doesn't define us or our future. Let it go.
Meggie gets a visit from the handsome Victor - no wonder she fell for him. Victor stays only long enough to vow that he'll make sure she's confined to a dark hole for the rest of her miserable existence.
Meanwhile, at the club, Nikki impersonates Victor. And Vikki? She's 'well intentioned'. Deacon offers to stay in the motel - he'll understand, really. No - Nikki wants them to settle into their new home. Ignoring a call, Deacon follows Nikki upstairs.
Having gotten the better of Kay (who wordlessly retreats upstairs), Jill's grateful Collin arrived when he did. And she's touched that Collin told Lily they'd be more involved with the twins (in Cane's memory of course).
Back at CL's, Chloe reassures Kevin that the thugs are bluffing. At least he thinks I'm pretty, she grins n fluffs her hair.
Wheeling Lucy into the house, Jana babbles about how impressed Kevin was to see them together. But where's the blankie? As Jana retrieves it from the front step, a gloved hand reaches out to stifle her screams.
Next: Glo barges into the Abbott home - you're the new nanny, she confronts Jana - tell me what you're up to .... Neil accosts Adam - he was working at NE when Adam supposedly cooked up these new trust funds - and knows he didn't have access to Victor's private files.... Billy warns Chloe - tell Kevin to cut ties with his gambling pals or he takes Delia away - it's that simple.
My Thoughts: Whomever's got their hand clamped over Jana's mouth, please, please keep it that way (I'm guessing it's Ryder *yawn*) ... Mike's Victor's attorney - why is he calling VIKKI (to update her that Adam didn't recant). Why isn't Leslie calling her with that news? ... If Jill's not moving Collin into the mausoleum until after Chance tesitifies, where is he living now? What excuse has she given Collin (as to why they aren't living together as man and wife)? ... Why would Daniel confide such an explosive secret - to someone who fears for her own mental stability? ... Why hasn't Jeff paid off the bookies? What happened to his 50 million? ... Line of the day goes to Chloe - the Abbott's hadda go and hire 'Scary Poppins' (nice that she puts the blanker back over Lucy - after it fell on the not so clean floor at CL's ..... How does Leslie know that Sharon's against Adam lying on his father's behalf? I wasn't aware that she and Sharon had spoken about it ... How does Sharon know she's going to prison 'for life'? The case hasn't even gone to trial yet. If Sharon plead guilty to manslaughter, she'd get no more than a slap on the wrist ... Why is Kevin suddenly pissed off at Daniel again? Giving a baby up for adoption (to 'strangers') is a selfless act (and really none of Uncle Kev's business) ... Why is Kay surprised that Jill wants to move Collin into her home? He IS her husband. Where have they spent the last few nights? And why does Kay think Chance being alive is still a secret? Half the town knows already .. How exactly does Jill have to 'deal' with Murphy's 'dead fish'? I doubt she's the one cleaning and filleting them? ... There really IS no reason for Deacon and Nikki to be staying in a cockroach infested motel room - Meggie's just as likely to spill the beans no matter where they live. The Governor only JUST heard about Jill's loss? Cane's been dead for at least a week ... Sharon really thinks that Victor took care of them all of selfishness - and his need to be 'adored'? Not because he loved his family? I that case, why hasn't she moved off the property? ... How can Sharon say it's 'not true' that she's turned her back on her kids to be with Adam? Hello - who's at home? Adam. Yes. Kids - no ... Adam's eyesight was 'pretty good back then' - but now it's a 'blur'? Yet - he has no trouble reading text messages and the fine print on Victor's contracts... Adam claims he's the smartest kid in the room - guess he's not referring to his Harvard class (where he was second smartest) ... As long as you told the truth, Victor manages to say with a straight face (after Adam's lied his face off under oath) .... Kinda troubling that Wisconsin's Governor is a corrupt 'lech' who drinks straight scotch so early in the day.
