Pouting on her sofa, Vikki sits beside McGruff (the giant stuffed dog from the St Paddy's themed airport bar with Billy eons ago). Hearing the Abbott's had a fight, Jana advises Vikki to say she's sorry - fix it (if only she could do the same with Kevin).
G-worm (and it's hostess) also decked out for St Paddy's Day. Kevin, the foul mooded leprechaun, orders Jeff to pay what he owes Angelo. Bruised and with a tooth missing, Jeff claims to have it under control. Well, hurry it up - Kevin's unhappy that he once again has to stay away from Chloe.
At a table, Phyllis wants answers from Adam. Billy's not up for chasing after psycho JR. But the series of articles was YOUR idea, Phyllis insists - but will wait for Billy's OK. He's so pissed off about the arbitration mess he wants to punch holes in the wall.
At the mausoleum, Nina and Philip aren't happy to hear Chance is returning to the witness protection program. DA Walsh says there's more than a few dirty cops - and Heather could be testifying today too. Leaving to meet Chris at the courthouse, DA Walsh doesn't even need to ask if Chance is ready. Apologizing, Chance hugs the mother who weeps at the thought of losing him again.
On the phone, Sharon's expediting a passport - as she's already booked a flight to Thailand. The name? Faith Newman. Leaving to pick it up, Sharon finds Phyllis at the door (curious as to where she's off to).
Meanwhile, in a Thailand bar, the overly friendly Adam (claiming to be a travel writer) tries (and fails) to chat up a much less friendly Koa.
Back at G-worm, Angelo's appearance sends Jeff scurrying to get him some money (while his veiled threats against Chloe send a troubled Kevin scurrying out the front door). Moments later Chloe arrives - and as Angelo approaches her, Billy materializes immediately - don't look or talk to her - forget her name.
Claiming she's off to a spa for a few days, Sharon might indeed be joined by Adam. Yes - Sharon knows she can't cross state lines. Phyllis is told Adam's not home (but will have to ask him why he missed the arbitration). Sharon's further flustered when the cops arrive - with a warrant for Adam's arrest.
Over beers at the bar, Koa finally opens up to Adam (who should go check out the beach in Hawaii). So - is Koa on vacation? Kinda.
At the mausoleum, Heather's off to get ready for court - but as all watches on, stammers a good bye. Admitting she's made some mistakes (Ronan), Heather thinks Chance a hero - a good guy - who always does the right thing. As awful as the past few months have been, she wouldn't trade knowing Chance. See you later, she gives him a teary 'good bye' hug (then leaves with Paul). Chance denies his leaving is a 'done deal'. It's HIS choice. In tears, Nina feels it best (safer) if he goes.
Likening their epic love stories, Jana warns Vikki that connections can 'snap' - leaving you empty inside. Taking Jana's hand, Vikki's sorry she misses Kevin so much - and with a 'thank you' she (and McGruff) are off to G-worm. Oh look - here's Kevin at the door (and Jana can barely contain her delight).
After Chance reveals a bit about his life in the program (that he has a friends - and a diner waitress who knows his order off by heart), he, Nina and Philip share another heartfelt good bye. Letting go of their hero son is for the best - but oh, how painful. I love you ~hug~ And as Chance goes to get ready (and say good bye to Jill and Kay), Nina's left to whimper with Philip.
At the courthouse, Heather not afraid for herself - the 'other witness' has more at stake. She cared about (and lost) both Chance and Ronan. Poor Nina, Paul can't imagine. I'm not going anywhere, Heather jokes about what a pain in the ass she is (and so lucky to have a Dad like Paul) ~hug~
The charges against Adam? Perjury. Sharon doesn't know when Adam will be back. After the cops leave, Phyllis wonders if it's the truth (and can do her wondering OUTSIDE) as Sharon pushes her out by the arm. This is gonna be very, very good, Phyllis murmurs happily.
No, Kevin doesn't want a beer - he wants to tell Jana that they can't have any contact (which sure isn't what Jana wanted to hear).
Back at G-worm, Billy warns Angelo to stay away from Chloe (who clarifies that she's not 'with' Billy OR Kevin). After Angelo leaves, Billy sits Chloe down - to hear that she and Kevin aren't really broken up (which won't work). Keep it up - if Billy fights her for Delia, he'll win. She'll always be my kid - get over it, Chloe hisses (then leaves Billy to choke in his green beer when Vikki, and McGruff, startle him).
Vikki insists this is only a 'bump' - surely, they knew they'd have to choose sides in their big brand families at some point. Billy thought they were on their OWN side (yet she assumed he'd jump on the Abbott's). Isn't keeping secrets the kindest thing you can do sometimes? Vikki makes Billy think.
Lucy now in her arms, Jana's sorry to hear that Kevin needs 'distance/space' (and that he broke up with Chloe). What about when she gets her memory back - and has questions only Kevin can answer? She KNOWS their marriage is done - but the friendship? Kevin's sorry - but it's the only way. After Kevin marches out, Jana chats to Lucy. Then, deciding that finding Kevin's niece will make him happy, Jana goes online to search for the church Daisy's baby was abandoned at.
Still at the bar, Adam talks to Koa about a restaurant in Hawaii both are familiar with. But only when he mentions 'that woman who fell in a volcano recently', does Adam finally get Koa's full attention (why'd you bring THAT up, he wonders).
As Sharon wheels her luggage out, Phyllis emerges from the shrubbery to watch.
Sure Billy may have kept secrets from people (like Jack and Ashley) - but not Vikki (who's got his vote every time). Vikki didn't want to make him choose sides. Coming over sit on Vikki's side of the table, Billy assures - it's just you, always ~kiss~
Nina and Philip join Heather and Paul at the courthouse. Seems Chris's late - but the trial can start without her. A nervous Heather off to the vending machine, Nina's sad - while Philip's at least happy that the people who caused them to lose Chance will be held accountable.
Inside the courtroom, opening arguments are over - time for witnesses. DA Walsh stands to advise the Judge that Chris Blair's late (and call his first witness; Philip Chancellor IV). Previously confident and cocky, the smiles quickly vanish - as a gaping Pomerantz and Meeks turn in their seats; stunned. In full uniform, hat under his arm, the freshly shaved Chance marches up to face them.
The defendant's lawyer standing immediately, DA Walsh explains that Chance has been under the Justice Department's custody since his apparent murder. The Judge agrees to a short recess - but will then hear Detective Chancellor (who stands at attention as Pomerantz and Meeks file out behind their lawyer). Quite an entrance, the DA quips. So far, so good - Chance finally loosens his stance).
Taking her seat, Sharon's nervous when the flight attendant offers her a drink. Gazing at her falsified passport (in Faith's name), Sharon's determined to find Adam.
Still in the bar, 'Jason' claims to write for 'Near and Far'. Realizing he may have gone too far, Adam wants to pretend the conversation never happened. Ordering another drink, Adam goes to make a quick call (leaving a suspicious Koa to pull out his phone and Google him).
Trying to speak to Angelo (about Hogan), Kevin's ignored (as Angelo continues out the front door without speaking). Did you piss him off even more? Kevin asks Jeff. Pointing out that Chloe's here, Gloria interrupts to join Jeff behind the bar - applauding as Chloe launches herself into Kevin's arms.
At the church, a woman speaks aloud as she lights candles - the money they got paid off some bills. But - Oh Lord - the baby - sold like furniture, she weeps with guilt. And here's that baby now (strapped to Jana as she quietly slips in).
As Chloe takes a seat, Kevin almost joins her - but then takes a seat in an adjacent booth. Back to back, they lean around to chat. Chloe knows she broke the rules - but this charade for Angelo's just as bad as the one for Jana. Kevin assures it'll all be over soon. Coming over with a tray of green cupcakes, Gloria serves each table - she and Jeff like to play 'strangers in a bar' sometimes too.
The woman comments on the sweet baby strapped to Jana (then lingers as Jana asks the Priest about a baby abandoned there in January). Knowing nothing about any baby, the Priest can only offer prayers. And after Jana leaves, the woman pauses for some heavenly intervention - then races after her Jana.
Impatient to get this over with, Chance checks his phone (in case Chris called). Instead, he gets a text - we have your girlfriend. Tell anyone and she dies. For real. Still want to testify? Oh no, his expression reads.
Her eyes covered, a frantic Heather pleads - what do you want? Shaking her head to loosen the blindfold, she screams - then sighs with relief when it's obvious that the animals poised to pounce are stuffed. Somebody get me out of here! Heather struggles with the ropes around her wrists. In the background, a man; Angelo (?) hovers to watch briefly before moving on.
When Adam returns to his bar stool, Koa grabs his shirt collar - who ARE you? Adam Newman - husband of the late Skye Newman etc etc. Tell me everything YOU know, Adam demands.
Accompanied by the flight attendant, a man asks to see Sharon's passport. The computer system indicates Faith Newman's one year old. Insisting it's a mistake, Sharon's strongarmed off the plane. A curious fellow flyer excitedly wonders if she had weapons - or was a drug mule. Lowering her magazine, the woman beside her isn't sure. Some people just like drama, Phyllis concludes. This is her first trip to Thailand - can't wait to see what I find.
Next: Chris has Chance on the stand - The men who conspired to have you killed - can you identify them? ... What the hell do you think you're doing? Angelo reties Heather's hands behind her back ... Adam - I'm gonna follow you. I won't quit until I find out what I need to know.
My Thoughts: My my - just LOOK at all the diversity! How progressive! Today's extra's were a smorgasbord of ethnicities. I'm surprised there wasn't someone speaking Gaelic (in honour of St Paddy's Day) ... Keeping secrets is the 'kindest' thing you can do? Really Vikki - it wasn't a 'no, your ass doesn't look fat in those jeans' kinda lie. Isn't it obvious to Billy that Vikki was merely covering her butt? And when will Abby learn about Vikki's deal with Tucker (she seems to be the only one who doesn't know about the secret deal) ... Why is Phyllis so concerned about what Sharon's up to - it's not like she's publishing anything in RS (and wasn't Billy the one to say that NOTHING'S off limits?) .... Lucy looks completely bored as Jana prattles on about finding the abandoned baby. How would she narrow it down to that particular church? .... Why isn't Gloria's green beer as good as the airport bar's? Doesn't Billy know it's his regular beer with food colouring? .... Why is Billy always threatening to take Delia away from Chloe? And why is he so sure he'd win a custody battle? Billy's come a long way, but I don't see a hands-down win for him (and the longer Delia stays with Chloe, the less likely it is that a Judge would make any changes to the status quo) ..... Why is Jana pushing beer on Kevin? He's driving. Who makes a special trip to go SEE someone - just to tell em you can't SEE em anymore? .... How did Chloe NOT bump into Kevin when she arrived at G-worm (just after he left)? ... You know you're in trouble when you're getting marital advice from your divorced nutty nanny. Note to Jana; you don't need to bounce a baby up and down unless it's fussy (which the sleeping Lucy wasn't). Do the Abbott's know Jana's traipsing all over town with their underdressed infant ? How ironic that Jana's searching for the kid she's got strapped to her (and fortunate that the woman who 'sold' her happened to be at the church when Jana came in) ... Does Jeff really need to be working the bar tonight? Customers might not want to be served by a guy who's face is oozing. Call Deacon in to cover - he doesn't have anything else to do (or a sugar mamma to pay his bills) ... The first day of the big trial and DA Walsh drives all the way over to the mausoleum - to do nothing more than shake Chance's hand? ... Aren't drinks usually served once the flight's taken off? Perhaps those in first class get their beverages first? (cause they're much better than everyone else)? ... Only NOW (and likely thanks to Phyllis' tattling) Sharon's passport is questioned? Using Faith's birth certificate to hunt down her kidnapper, sure won't help her regain custody (the murder charges might be dropped - but I'm sure falsifying a passport is illegal too) .... I don't even care why Angelo kidnapped Heather, just take her already .... Yeah, Heather HAS made colossal mistakes (including sleeping with Chance) Another mistake is not showering or changing before going to court (Angelo will be ready to release his smelly captive in a coupla days).... Heather's blindfold was tied looser .. looser than Heather herself. Maybe if she wiggles her arms around a bit, the ropes will just fall off too ... Chance, the 'hero', always does the right thing? The only thing he 'does' is the easy women throwing themselves on their backs for him. 'Over easy' ain't just the breakfast order his California waitress 'gets right every time' ... Chance has got more 'guts' than anyone else Philip knows? Guess so - considering Philip's such a coward he faked his own death rather than come out of the closet ... Paul really feels sorry for Heather because she had 'bodyguards 24/7'? Yeah - that was a real 'hardship' (emphasis on the 'hard'). If Heather knows she's 'prickly', why doesn't she shave? (if she ever showers that is). She coulda used Chance's razor (which he finally managed to find and use) .. Nice of Adam to insult travel writers - by saying they aren't 'real' writers .. Euuw - I'm sure Kevin really wants to hear about his mother and 'loverman' playing 'strangers in a bar'.
