At home, Lily rereads the text message, calls Cane's number, then giving her head a shake, calls Daniel- hey, it's your favorite crazy person. Since he didn't tell anyone that he was over earlier, Lily's 'freaked out' - and asks Daniel to come back over. Something bizarre just happened. Hearing that Daniel's at G-worm (for Abby's press thing'), Lily rushes out (and bumps into Collin and Jill at her front door). Apparently not noticing that Lily's jaw's on the ground, they barge in - and make a beeline for the twins.
Riding shotgun in Paul's car, Chance reads out direct actions. The cops are also looking for Heather. Chance blames himself for testifying (which, according to Pomerantz, has gotten his girlfriend killed). Let's just find her, Paul puts on his determined PI face. Meanwhile, Heather ( tied up, blindfolded and alone) manages to shake off the blindfold again-and spots a knife.
At the ranch, Victor's updated that Chance's alive (and with Paul looking for Heather). Well I'll be damned. Thanks, but Victor doesn't need comfort from his old friend - marrying Diane was a good thing. Not buying that Victor is ' fine', Kay blames Tucker for his family/company falling apart - and she told him so. Victor's surprise to learn that Tucker was conspiring against him (with regards to the lawsuit).
Back from her business trip, Ashley is smearing lipstick all over Tucker - so busy kissing him that she didn't notice he has dinner for two set up (all her favorites flown in from Japan). More kissing indicates Ashley 'doesn't mind' staying in.
At G worm, Abby's producer doesn't mind fronting the cash for her pilot (having read the papers he know she's 'good for it'). Abby's excited about the naked heiress' triumphant return - and knowing she has to make a 'splash' tonight, has invited the reporter she recently had an altercation with. Arriving, Daniel's okay with being on camera (part of having a celebrity girlfriend). Daniel stepping aside, the press gathers. Announcing that the naked heiress is back in business (and production) - she 'celebrates' by shedding her dress (invoking gasps and flashbulbs). As Abby preens, Daniel sports an amused grin.
At the mausoleum, Nina suggested Philip that Brogan wasn't in court today because he's been kidnapped to (causing Chris to scurry off to call her contact to ensure he's safe). Nina also worries that Chance is walking into a trap (Heather being the bait).
Still driving along, Chance and Paul suspect that Heather's being held on property belonging to one of the dirty cops involved. Paul also wonders if there's any connection between Heather's kidnapping and Ronan being a no show in court. A call alerts that the van's been found behind the gas station (which is just up ahead as luck would have it). Let's go!
Having managed to free herself (with the conveniently left knife), a panicked Heather bangs on the locked door. Unable to break free, she picks up the match book from G-worm.
Ready to wrap up her' press conference' left parentheses because she's freezing), Abby will take one more question. Giselle, the bitchy reporter, isn't impressed by Abby's 'come back' (we've all seen what you've got - how you gonna keep it fresh?). Victor has no grounds for an appeal - and they'll just have to watch (to see how she keeps it fresh) - right voice? And as the producer hustles the press out, Daniel wraps the 'titillating; as always' Abby in a tablecloth (which she throws aside when the cops arrive - as planned). Tell my Mom to bail me out, Abby instructs Daniel (who's left in the wake of Abby, the arresting officers - and the gaggle of press).
Over dinner, Ashley thinks his merger projections are a bit premature (since he hasn't even gotten BofN yet). Tucker usually gets what he wants. Just so you don't use my daughter as a pawn, Ashley reminds. Getting a call from Daniel, Ashley updates Tucker, then leaves to bail Abby out (alone, by choice).
Back at the ranch, Kay continues to fill Victor in on Tucker (pitting Vikki against Jack - who're racing to deliver BofN - so he can merge it with Jabot). Reminded of how Tucker stole her company (using similar means), Kay thinks her son needs to learn a lesson. What do you have in mind? Victor's interested.
Ending her call, Chris reports that Ronan's safe - but has no details (or any idea why he didn't come to testify). Philip decides it's time to call Mom.
Jill's sorry she missed the twins (who're with Devon and Roxy) - then rushes out when Philip calls. Nothing Lily needs to worry about - she'll update Collin in the car. Seconds after they leave, Lily runs out too.
Entering the usual diner (across the road from the gas station), Chance is sure no prints will be found in the van. Hoping that someone at the diner saw something, Chance shows Heather's photo (on his phone) to a waitress (who hasn't seen her - or anything suspicious). Nope - there's no security camera's. Looking around, Paul spots Angelo (Vic in his lap).
Her good fortune continuing, Heather finds a can of some sort of accelerant - then opens the fireplace flue and starts a fire. Unfortunately, she's an idiot - and the flames are immediately out of control.
At Tucker's, Kay learns that Ashley went to bail out Abby (who's back to naked publicity stunts). Unfortunate, but Kay has more bad news for Ashley (that she'd no longer feel comfortable hosting their wedding). Because of what happened at the arbitration? Isn't that a bit dramatic? Oh, Kay will show him 'dramatic' - he's messing with a dear friend of hers - actions have consequences. Ashley's welcome in her home; Tucker not so much. Tell Ashley the truth - a refreshing change, she snarls in parting.
Home alone, Victor reads the newspaper (headline; NE - 2011's Most Unexpected IPO?). Outside Tucker's, Kay calls Victor to update that Abby's been arrested (and why). Sure he's disillusioned with his kids (and with good reason) - but Abby was manipulated. Without further word, Victor hangs up (to scratch his forehead over it).
Locked in her cell, Abby doesn't need to make a call just yet - she's already got it handled. Over a beer at G-worm, Daniel flashes back to Lily's Cane sightings. Joining him (and hearing about Abby), Lily appreciates him listening (and who else can she turn to?). Telling him about the text message, Lily freaks when her phone's not in her purse (though she's certain she put it there). What the hell's goin' on!? she frets.
Through the bars, Ashley scolds Abby (for deliberately provoking the police - and continuing her 'show'). Her record will dog her for the rest of her life. Dad! You came! Abby's excited. What's all this about? Victor asks.
Back at the mausoleum, Jill arrives - to hear that Chris is on the phone with the state police. Chris introduces herself to Collin - then updates that the van's been impounded (and searched for clues). On the verge of tears, Nina doesn't know how much more she can take.
Frustrated to get no leads at the diner, Paul and Chance are in the car (and back at square one). But wait - what's that - a fire! Let's go check it out. Back in the diner, Angelo's on the phone (with the corrupt cop from the courthouse). Standing outside the burning cabin, he assures that the 'little lady' won't get out. Inside the cabin, Heather lays unconscious on the floor (surrounded by flames).
It means SO much to Abby; that Victor will pay her bail as soon as she's arraigned. Through the bars, Abby's grateful that her father understands that she's working towards her goal (of launching her show) - but - whines that they're both too buys to notice (Mom planning her wedding; Victor with his 'insta-family; just add water'). You got married!? Why do such a stupid thing!? Ashley blurts out. Victor doesn't think either of them have right to judge him (Tucker's a manipulator, and Abby's a brat). Wondering why he's wasting his time there, Victor leaves Ashley to glare at Abby.
Collin's sure everyone will be home safe and sound. And when Kay comes in griping, Jill points out that her husband's welcome in her home. I don't like you, Kay fuels what quickly becomes loud bickering. Hey! What's the matter with you people! Phillip orders them to stick together like family - to prepare in case there's bad news.
Chance and Paul race into the cabin and haul Heather out. Laying her on the ground, they resuscitate her. You're gonna be fine, Paul bellows (as Heather starts coughing - trying, but unable, to speak).
Returning to Tucker's, Ashley updates Tucker - Abby was released on bond (surprisingly paid by Victor; who unfortunately left in a huff). It was a debacle. Tucker's supportive - and reports his own family squabble (because Kay knows he wants BofN - and had undue influence over the arbitration). We'll have to find another place to have our wedding. Ashley's sorry to hear it (for Tucker's sake). No problem - being without a mother isn't new to Tucker.
Abby, tail between her legs, drops by the ranch; to repay Victor - and apologize for her cracks about Diane. Victor agrees - it was 'super lame' of Abby (who's confused that he can replace the family he claims to love). Can we ever go back to the way things were? Victor gives his teary daughter a hug - there's so much going on; Victor didn't mean to hurt her but can't handle this right now. As instructed, Abby kindly shows herself out (leaving Victor devastated).
Back at Lily's, she finds her phone - but the text message has been erased (and the number it was sent from is no longer in service). Lily wails - this is crazy (then admits there's more; the music box playing - seeing Cane outside the window - on which he drew a heart). PHYSICAL things are happening! Why would someone 'mess' with her? Rejecting Daniel's offered hug, Lily doesn't want to get another text message (which results in Daniel giving her a 'you crazy, bitch).
Nina gets a call from Paul (who says Heather will be just fine - they're waiting for the ambulance). All rejoice when Nina relays the news - Jill and Kay sharing a lasting hug.
Heather in his arms, Chance will go in the ambulance with her. Oh what WOULD he have done if anything happened to her? I love you - you're the one. Looking up into his eyes, Heather smiles.
Next: Please - just take care of yourself alright? Deacon implores in the doorway of Nikki's suite. Please just get out! Nikki screeches as he retreats ... Go away - right now, Vikki also tells him (on the CL's patio). I think your mother's drinking again, he informs (causing Nick to look worried) ... Victor tells Diane - I saw that look between you and my son. You stay away from him, he orders.
My Thoughts: Ashley WAS kinda harsh re: Victor marrying Diane. 'How could you do something so stupid'!? (never mind that she's right - but it's none of her business - and it's not like she hasn't had her share of 'dubious' relationships) ... Have Jill and Collin no manners? Don't they know it's impolite to visit unnannounced and uninvited? Never mind that they just barged through the front door without waiting to be told that the twins aren't home ... Lily really doesn't have anyone else to talk to? She couldn't confide in her father or brother (who've both been ultra supportive; as has Sophia)? Why turn to the ex whom she divorced because he'd rather stay up all night surfing online porn (than go to bed with her)? .... Daniel's right - Lily doesn't know anyone else who's name starts with the letter C? - like Collin? Does she really think Cane's sending text messages from heaven? Is he on the Horizon Plan? (kudos to tnsoapfan, one of my many humourous board members for coming up with that one) ... Being so SURE that she put her phone in her purse (when she obviously didn't) indicates that Lily could very well be losing her grip on reality (and she carries a lot of crap in her big purse) .... Ashley was delayed at the airport for 2 hours? You'd think Tucker would have sent her in a private jet ... Why has Abby been 'off the radar' anyway? Shouldn't she be even more notorious - because of all the press coverage on the lawsuit/arbitration? .... How could Ashley have possibly missed the romantic dinner/wine-for-two set up? She only noticed it when Tucker points it out? ... How's Abby gonna 'keep it fresh'? With frequent showers, douching if necessary I imagine. But really - how many photos of Abby naked are the press gonna publish? Posed photos aren't as scandalous as candid ones (say taken through a zoom lens from miles away - while the subject thinks they're sunbathing in the nude in privacy). And mainstream publications would have to block out the nudity anyway - so what's the point? Folks wanting to see women posing naked can see that in Playboy or sumthin' ... If Abby's press conference was such a big deal, why wasn't anyone there from RS (as Abby is connected to both it's owner and editor in chief) .... Heather sure is finding a lot of handy escape materials laying around that cabin - she doesn't even need to be a McGyver. I'd be surprised if there wasn't a bag of marshmallows on the counter, and a nice long roasting stick propped up in the corner. You'd think the first thing she'd do after freeing herself would be to pee (maybe to extinguish the fire) ... Paul and Chance are 'experts' in this, Philip says - they won't take any 'stupid risks'. Huh? Paul's built a career on taking stupid risks - and Chance took a risk sleeping with Heather (who, despite engaging in casual/unprotected sex, hasn't mentioned being tested for STD's or AIDS). And isn't running into a fire engulfed building a 'stupid risk'? How did Heather manage to ignite such a raging fire so quickly (even with accelerant). I usually need to use half a newspaper ... How exactly is Abby's show 'in production' if there's no 'distributor' as yet? .. There was one or two still cameras taking snapshots of Abby - but no video recording of her arrest? Let's hope that tablecloth gets laundered - at a high temperature/extra rinse setting - before Gloria throws it back on a dining table ... Where IS Gloria anyway? You'd think the media whore would be posing beside Abby .... I get why Kay disapproves of Tucker inserting himself into Newman family business - but her 'dear old friend' is no angel either. And considering his treatment of Nikki, does Victor deserve Kay's unwavering loyalty? After she's taken his side (over her son's), Kay didn't get a 'thank you' or a 'good bye' before Victor rudely hung up in her ear... Oh no! Wherever will the billionaire and his wealthy bride to be get married (since the offer to wed at the mausoleum's been revoked)? ... Kay feels Abby didn't 'set out to do any damage'? She thought suing - even for her trust fund - wouldn't effect anything; if only her relationship with her father? ... If Victor wants to stop all the random visits to his home why hasn't he changed his locks? Do his kids still have their keys? or does the billionaire just leave it unlocked. It's certainly not like there's guards monitoring/preventing access ... There's something really silly about Chris proudly introducing herself as she shakes Collin's hand (I'm with the Department of Justice) - then - the next second Nina's addressing her as 'Cricket' ... What!? Abby plead 'not guilty'?! Um - isn't there ample proof to prove she IS guilty? - like witnesses; the crowd of invited press (who captured Abby's crime on CAMERA) - not to mention the unsuspecting diners who only wanted to enjoy a nice, quiet dinner out. Even Baldwin wouldn't be able to win this one (he couldn't even get Abby off on temp. insanity - or claim that her nudity was accidental; she had a wardrobe malfunction). She called a press conference to commit her crime (public nudity) for heavens sake.
