At the tackhouse, Nikki watches the latest news report on Sharon's escape. Jack arrives to hear she's just watching Faith (whom Noah's upstairs saying good bye to). He'd be gone already if not for the storms delaying flights. Nick? He's off following Adam. NuoldNoah comes down with bags in hand. Eager to get home (New York) he knows Skye's death may be an accident - but Mom running from the law isn't. He won't put his life on hold for Mom's lousy judgment.
We're still meeting in Sedona, right? Yeah, Sharon sniffles - I'll be there. Somewhere in New Mexico - feeling like she's been running for days. Sharon sees a motel up ahead - the Shuteye on Route 40. Phyllis in her bra and panties, Nick in just his pants, listen in (but are unable to hear what Adam's saying). Adam will come find Sharon. You're doing great - hang in there. Don't ever forget - I love you. I love you too, Sharon ends the call (to silently cry into her hands).
Still at G-worm, Ashley and Tucker's romantic and evening end abruptly. He's off for a conference call with Japan (at the club) - she's off to the ranch (on vague 'personal' business that leaves Tucker puzzled).
At the ranch, Diane pouts over Victor still working (having hoped to spend some time with her husband). I'm working, Victor states the obvious, file in hand. Diane decides to 'come clean' - about her and Nick. It didn't amount to more than a few dinners. Wanting this marriage to work, Diane lies through her teeth, as she preaches honesty - what little happened between her and Nick was over before Valentine's Day. Appreciating her honesty, Victor thinks her going to pick up dinner (for a romantic evening for two) is a helluva an idea. Sashaying out, Diane wouldn't look quite so pleased with herself - if she knew Victor'd just made a call (my wife's leaving the grounds - follow her).
Shown into room 7 of the no frills Shuteye Motel, Sharon sends the manager for a map of Arizona (as she's meeting her fiance in Sedona). Now alone, she sits on the bed - looking glum.
Back at the tackhouse, Nikki totally understands, Jack not so much - that he needs to get outta here. Things are happening for Noah in New York - he'll come face Mom when they find her. He's NOT running away - he's running towards something. Thanks for understanding Grandma. Sharon just isn't the Mom Noah remembers - who IS this person he doesn't recognize. Jack hears him - take care of yourself ~hug~
Dear Noah, Sharon writes through her tears - he's right - she's let him (and others) down terribly. Go back to New York - follow your dreams - he's not responsible for ANY of this *sniffle*
Victor's at the club. I'll be damned, he thanks the waiter for the fine bottle of wine; his wife's favourite. Tucker comes along to praise his taste in wine (and lawyers). Mike passed along his message - and now - Victor has a message for Tucker - buying Adam's stock options crossed the line.
Adam's on the phone - I need to get off this island tonight. He's leaving - Phyllis and Nick abandon their glasses - let's get dressed. Diane calls Nick to offer Summer a ride to a play. Reminded that Summer's on holiday, Diane has more - she'd like to meet - to apologize for yesterday. Who's that? a nosey Phyllis asks loudly (causing an even nosier Diane to ask - it that Phyllis!?)
Sorry you're unhappy (Tucker clearly doesn't give a rats ass). Yeah, well Tucker McCall has a surprise in store (if he thinks he's gonna swallow up NE the way he did CI). Giving his one and only warning, Victor's surprise will hit Tucker when he least expect it. Sporting of you - have a good evening, Tucker pretends not to be concerned.
Faith in her arms, Nikki welcomes Ashley into the tackhouse. Her offer to help with the girls is very sweet 'n all - but (depositing Faith in the play pen), Nikki (and Vikki have things covered between them thanks very much. Ashley didn't mean to imply anything - her only concern is Faith (who must be confused). Yes - and we don't want to make it any more confusing for her, Nikki's smile remains pasted in place. OK - Ashley's just volunteering - surely they can put their issues aside for Faith's sake. Both competing for the biggest and warmest smile, Nikki will extend Ashley's offer to Nick (who'll appreciate it).
My dearest Faith, Sharon writes her next letter. She's gonna hear a lot of terrible things about her Mom - many of em true. She fought to bring into the world surrounded by love and peace - instead, there was heartache and loss. Sadly, there's no do-overs. She's ruined her live all by her self. Faith will be just fine with her Daddy. Remember, no matter what - your Mommy will always love you - my precious angel (and I'll be yours too) *sob*
Nick steps out of the hotel room (and away from Phyllis) - to explain they followed Adam. You and Phyllis? In the Caribbean? Diane's obviously unimpressed. Thanks for calling - your apology means a lot, Nick hangs up. Eye to the peep hole, Adam watches Nick return to his room. Packing, he calls the concierge (offering big bucks to borrow the bellhop for a few hours). Glass to the wall, Phyllis grumbles that she can't hear anything. Jack calling, Phyllis reluctantly admits she's out of town, but hangs up instead of providing details (like where she is). Luckily, Jack bumps into Diane - who's more than happy to drop the bomb that Phyllis is in St Marten with Nick. Jack picks his jaw up off the ground - trying (and failing) to pretend he's not shocked - and pissed.
Victor gets the call - she's at G-worm? Keep an eye on her (to make sure she gets home safely). Victor's actually pleased to get a visit from Nikki (because she's brought Faith). Ready to leave, Nikki's sure Victor has things to do. No - stay - Diane's out for a while. Pleased, Nikki all but bats her eyelashes.
In his room, Adam's filled the bell boy in. Nick and Phyllis cracking their door open to watch the show, Adam hands the bell boy his bag - he's catching the ferry to St Bart's - bring my bag and meet me at the cab stand, he annunciates loud and clear. Nick and Phyllis tip toe down the hallway after him.
Jack doesn't expect his journalist girlfriend to keep him apprised of her every move. Not buying Diane's compliments, Jack knows she's just trying to get a rise outta him. Jack's not suspicious about Nick and Phyllis - however, turning the tables, he DOES wonder what's up between Diane and her new stepson??
There's nothing 'up' between Diane and Nick - she's a newlywed (only interested in Victor, who treats her like a queen). It will last - she's kind and respectful - she listens and comforts. Give the fly a little honey, Jack wonders what it is Diane wants from Victor. Handed her dinner, Mrs Newman charging it to her husbands account, gives Jack his answer (and is advised to spread a little honey himself).
Meeting Tucker at the club, Ashley now explains her 'mysterious' visit to the ranch. Hearing that Faith's a happy, sweet baby, Tucker credits her first few months with Ashley (who beats the sorry excuse for a mother she has now). Disapproving of Sharon putting Adam before Faith, Tucker will never understand a mother abandoning her mother. Ashley doesn't either - but would have run away (with Faith) if he hadn't stopped her. Oh how lucky she is to have Tucker in her life.
Letter's to Noah and Faith complete, Sharon now writes to Adam (flashing back to telling him she loves him ~kiss~ and the wedding). Love can be messy and complicated - but can give you strength to make decisions (that the rest of the world may think wrong). As much as Sharon loves Adam, they can't be together.
Spotting Nick and Phyllis join the ferry line up, Adam and the bellhop proceed onboard - you know what to do, right? We're losing them, Phyllis starts to panic.
Now on the ferry, Nick and Phyllis push their way through the crowd - Adam! Hey - you're not Adam! - where'd you get those clothes? The guy on the dock paid him a lotta money to wear em. And as Adam waves from the dock, Phyllis can't believe he managed to dupe them. I need you to turn this boat around right now, Nick demands of the a man who's presumably the captain.
Back at the club, Ashley shares her plan to speak to Nick (to be there for Faith). Never mind that things are tense at Jabot - Faith is more important than business. Tucker supports her 100%. Jack arrives - not for a showdown - but to call a truce.
Victor's having a find time with Faith. Pity the grandkids suffered because of the arbitration. Returning with dinner, an unimpressed Diane watches the cozy scene.
Having a not so pleasant evening, Jack realizes he needs allies. Because Tucker makes his sister happy, they shouldn't fight. And - you catch more flies with honey. The boys shaking hands, Ashley declares Jackie the greatest brother ever. And any foe of Victor's is a friend indeed, Tucker adds.
Hello sweetheart, Diane comes in to gush over Faith. Hello Nikki. Oh? Nick's away? Diane didn't realize - but is sure he'll be back soon - then things can get back to 'normal' (meaning Nikki will get lost). 'Normal' could be stretching things, Nikki (ready to leave) finds Diane's invitation to bring Faith back tomorrow a most 'gracious' offer. Diane grimaces as Victor walks his guests out - how nice that she's being so civil. Diane's not worried about Nikki (anymore than he should worry about Nick). Never mind that Victor's set the table - and she's brought dinner home, the impulsive Diane now wants to go out. How can Victor resist that smile? He can't.
Told it's impossible to turn the boat around, Phyllis takes over - when can they take a ferry back? The morning? Yup - they're stuck there overnight. On land, Adam's on his phone - in 20 minutes he'll be on his jet heading to the states.
Sharon's packed and ready to leave room 7 when the kindly manager shows up with the map she no longer needs. Paying for it, Sharon insists she's fine - but in a hurry. Now alone, Sharon changes her mind on leaving her engagement ring behind. Putting it back on, she whimpers - sorry Adam - I'll never forget you. And leaving the three letters behind, Sharon heads for her car.
Next: Get out of the car - now! Sharon's startled to find a gun aimed at her (by a woman who means business) ... At the club, Diane confronts Victor - if anyone around her needs to come clean, it's YOU ... Both in robes, Nick and Phyllis play cards on the bed - looking intensely at one another when Nick's hand slaps on top of Phyllis' as they both reach for the cards.
My Thoughts: Huh? Noah's flight's been delayed by 'storms'? Guess the weather in New York is real bad - cause the weather looked fine when everyone was outside the church 'earlier' ... Looks like the only thing left of the Winters wedding at G-worm is the flower arrangements. Were the guests not treated to a sit down dinner? ... Tucker has a conference call with Japan? Guess the scenes were shot before the natural disasters struck ... I still don't get how Sharon was charged and convicted of the 'slaying' of Skye? You'd think a hotshot attorney like Vance would at least plead it down to manslaughter .... Who is that!? Who IS that!? Why would Phyllis conclude that something's wrong with Summer - when Nick clearly just informed whomever's calling that she's on Spring Break? And the jealous Diane's equally, if not MORE nosey. It's none of her business if Phyllis is with Nick. They DO share a child after all. Good thing it's not a video call (Diane would have a fit if she saw what Phyllis is wearing - or rather not wearing) ... Would it have killed Nikki to let Ashley hold Faith (whom she's eyeing like a kid through a candy store window)? Oh well - at least she was civil enough (if not completely sincere). Ashley's got her issues - but at least she's sober .... Good God. Is Sharon suicidal now? Of all the selfish acts Sharon's committed (which it's nice to hear her finally admit to, if even in a letter) - ending her own misery (to pass it on to her children) would be the most cowardly thing to do. And what makes her think she'd be an 'angel'?...Note that after writing to her children, Sharon still feels that her letter to ADAM is the 'hardest one' she's ever had to write. Because he's more important? Or because it being her third letter, her hand's starting to cramp up? .... Hard to believe spilled coffee would render Sharon's map illegible - dry it off and it should be just fine ... If the bellhop's getting an hourly rate from his employer; the hotel - how would the hotel benefit by 'lending' him out? The bellhop makes double his salary - and the hotel loses an employee for a coupla hours ... It's understandable that the not-so-bright Nick would be 'duped' by Adam - but Phyllis the journalist wasn't the least bit suspicious that Adam was announcing his plans so loud and clear? And why couldn't she have bought a dress in the gift shop? Both in the same clothes (which they'd already sweated in yesterday), Adam will smell the ripe pair long before he sees them coming ... Having just won half a billion, why hasn't Nick HIRED the best PI's (or at least Paul) .... Wouldn't be the first time Diane's gotten 'a rise' outta Jack. Nothing is happening 'down there'. What's 'up' between Diane and her new stepson? But all double entendres aside, really Jack, since when has a bitter divorce EVER prevented a couple from reuniting? .... If Victor's so concerned about Diane 'getting home safely', why wouldn't he suggest the chauffeur drive her to get dinner (or better yet - just have the driver go pick up dinner) ... What's the point of Adam wearing a watch? Legally blind, how can he tell time on it? ... Nice to see old-nuNoah back (and his mature take on his mother's behavior) - but hard to believe he's on the verge of this big music career in New York. At least oldNoah looked like an edgy musician. This Noah's barely outgrown his Pianosaurus .. Funny that Nikki looks more dressed for a wedding (while babysitting) than Ashley (who's just come from a wedding) ... Really Sharon? You'll never forget Adam? You'd think not - but then again, she was able to forget he stole your baby etc.
