On the CL's patio, Tucker gets a long awaited opportunity to apologize for the way he mistreated 'Mrs Newman' - Victor's a lucky man. Yes - and Diane's off to remind him of that. Ashley then joins Tucker - with banter about their wedding in the park (where a passed out Abby awakens to find a police officer frowning down at her).
At the Abbott mansion, Traci worries about Abby - the poor girl who feels betrayed. Didn't she ask Jack not to play games with his nieces. Who do his manipulations help? More importantly, who do they hurt?
Destruction of public property - public intoxication! Bottle in hand, the officer manhandles Abby to her feet - and away from the destroyed wedding site.
In what's likely a stereotypical church basement, Kay's just finished an AA meeting - but would gladly sit through another for Nikki. No need - Nikki then finds herself face to face with Deacon - awkward.
Diane's pleased to find Victor home - to finish their discussion. Victor doesn't think there's anything left to say. Diane disagrees - despite Nikki, she's committed to proving this marriage IS 'mutually beneficial'. Oh - Mike - here about the IPO? No, Victor states he's there about their annulment.
Thanked for drawing up the papers so quickly, Mike hands a copy to both parties. No - it's NOT 'premature' - and Victor's settlement is even more generous than the prenup. Despite Diane's obvious reluctance, Victor forges ahead all business - let's just sign off and end it. Victor summoned away, Mike (trotting along behind) hisses at Diane - take it! Leaving her to huff - papers in hand.
Now at the station, Kent (with his ever present camera) coaches Abby (not to fix her hair or make up). Jack arrives to jab his finger - warning that NO sponsors will give Kent a dime (if he doesn't beat it). Pure genius Heiress! Kent gives Abby a thumbs up (then goes to film footage of the wedding site). Jack then informs Abby that he's there to get her out - before her mother finds out what she's done.
Joining Tucker on the patio, Kay reiterates her disapproval of him buying NE stock (over her dead body). Too bad it's already done. Tucker's been on the phone with board members all morning. THEY understand - CI buys the stock - sells to Tucker at a loss. CI gets a tax write off - HE gets a big chunk of NE. Whether Kay admits it or not, she's LOST.
Devastated to see her wedding site 'vandalized', Ashley calls the police to report it. Who would DO such a thing? My God! (she's apparently updated).
Kay can't believe the smart Ashley is fooled into thinking Tucker a decent human being. Tucker COULD have gotten shares from Jack - but THIS way seemed cleaner. If Kay wasn't so old and sentimental, she wouldn't keep losing, Tucker rants (as Traci creeps onto the patio). Ashley calls. What? The station? Abby, Ashley sighs - why else. Telling Kay to think about it, Tucker walks off speaking to Ashley (leaving Traci to ask if she's all right).
Jack warns Abby that the cops are tired of her antics - she better convince them she's sorry. Deal? Oh - like the deal Jack made - selling Tucker the shares Brad left Abby? The shares she got when Colleen died? Jack - the traitor - has Tucker-itis - just like the rest of the family. Victor arrive in time to see Ashley slap Abby across the face.
'Sufficient monetary consideration', Diane scoffs at the document. She was counting on billions - NOW what?! Coming over to the bar to order water, Nick apologizes for being rude yesterday (and is off to work out his aggressions on the punching bag). Have a good workout - Diane's smile vanishes as soon as Nick exits.
At the podium, a teary but stoic Nikki addresses her fellow alcoholics (including Deacon). This is her 4th day without a drink. But that's over now. She's walking away from her bad decisions (and alcohol).
When Abby balks at being assaulted in a police station, Ashley claims the cops want to do the same thing (to the spoiled brat who's no longer amusing or even interesting anymore). Ashamed, Ashley IS marrying Tucker - and there's not a damn thing Abby can do to stop her. Glaring, Ashley - then Jack walk away. And when Jack takes a jab at Victor, Ashley snaps - don't make this about your stupid war! And while Jack goes to call Traci, Mike tries to talk sense into Abby - parents live and die for their kids (even those who're a pain in the ass). Maybe it's time to give up (on trying to show Mom what a skeazeball Tucker is). Watch my Mom ruin her life? Resigned, maybe that IS all Abby can do.
Nikki now in the crowd - Deacon at the podium, he talks about his last speech - freaking out about losing a great woman - when he shoulda been following step 4 - making amends. If he'd done that, maybe she wouldn't hate him (and gone through hell she didn't deserve).
When Jack arrives at CL's, Kay hopes he won't sell his NE shares to Tucker. But if it means getting Jabot back, it's a brilliant idea (if Jack does say so himself). Plus - Kay's declined numerous opportunities to give the company back. This isn't about him or Jabot - it's about Kay protecting 'poor widdle Victor'. Jack will do whatever it takes to get Jabot back. Including making a deal with the devil, Kay disapprovingly concludes.
The AA meeting breaking up, Deacon accosts Nikki (who regrets every moment with him). She's THIS close to betting her life back on track and won't let HIM ruin it (as she clip clops off).
At the club, Victor's also there to punch the bag (and is dissolving his marriage to Diane). Huh - she didn't mention that to Nick. Why WOULD she? Victor replies (she's humiliated). Oh - and he's reconnecting with Nikki. Diane's not a good fit for the family. Nick merely nods.
Back at the ranch, Diane unpacks her shopping bags - a little black negligee - but will she ever get to wear it for anyone, she pouts (then smiles when spotting a newspaper article announcing Tucker's wedding to Ashley). Hello Tucker, her text reads.
After mug shots, Abby picks up Tucker's beeping phone - her jaw dropping when she reads Diane's text - 'I enjoyed our talk. Would love to take you up on your offer'. The day before your wedding - unbelievable! Ashley announces that she and Victor want her to stew in a jail cell, but Tucker wants her out. As Abby offers a lame apology, Tucker goes to 'see what he can do' (leaving Ashley to toss money at Abby - catch a cab - SHE has a party to prepare for). Without attracting anyone's attention, Abby again picks up Tucker's phone. 'I am intrigued', she replies to Diane's message.
Mike, the 'traitor', drops by the ranch - and notices the 'main' plate is missing. Smirking, Diane assumes he's there get the signed papers. Technically yes, but he's also there as a friend. Picking up the black negligee, he wonders whom it's for - Victor? Jack? The man Diane still had feelings for? Face it - you struck out - being here is toxic (for Diane and Kyle). GC doesn't work for you, Mike states.
Nikki perches on a park bench - and as Deacon watches from behind a tree, pulls out her flask (sniffing it - then dumping it out onto the grass). Deacon emerging, Nikki jumps up to snarl that she's moving on - turning 4 days (of sobriety) into 5. The LAST thing she has to say to Deacon is that she accepts her amends.
At G-worm, Traci asks Jack why he dislikes Tucker. She's starting to wonder if Abby's right about him after all? On cue, the soon to be newlyweds arrive. Jenni's gonna fix (and even improve) the park decorations. The 'lucky' Ashley knows this marriage is right. Yeah - but Tucker knows there's a few faces they'll both miss (at the wedding). It'll be perfect anyway, Ashley assures with a kiss (as Traci and Jack look on disapprovingly).
Seated at the club with Victor, Kay updates him on Tucker's plan (re: the Newman stock). She will NOT allow him to exploit her company (or her friend). Victor appreciates her 'feelings'.
Strolling through the park with her Dad, Summer spots Grandma (with Deacon). Let's let them finish, Nick hangs back to watch Nikki forgive Deacon (though she thinks him a dark, rotten opportunist). But he feels less rotten for knowing Nikki (whom he wants to give a good bye hug). Reluctantly, Nikki obliges (causing Nick to take Summer off for ice cream).
Victor's sorry Tucker went over Kay's head (to stick it to both of them). He thinks I'm too old to fight back, she gripes (having no idea he'd go to the board so quickly). I WAS slow, Kay admits - but now, she has a taste for blood - and wants to crush Tucker. Together, no one can stand against us, Victor assures.
Back at G-worm, Jack leads Traci aside (so she can relay the cold way Tucker treated Kay, his own mother). Is that the kind of man Ashley should be with? As Ashley and Tucker pop the champagne, Abby arrives (all dressed up and with a sheepish smile).
Shown to the door, Mike tells Diane that he's missed her - stay in touch (if she leaves town, he gives her a friendly kiss). Diane's then surprised to get a text from Tucker (as sent by Abby) - meet me at the Abbott cabin tonight to discuss future endeavors.
Abby hopes she's welcome to join the celebration - if they'll have her. Near tears, Ashley takes Abby's extended hand. And as Diane salivates over 'Tucker's message, Victor and Kay also shake hands. Hugging Ashley, Abby's meek face is directed towards a frowning Tucker.
Next: Nikki, I got us a table, Deacon comes over to say. You're having dinner with HIM? Victor's not impressed ... Diane's in her car - careful up there - you're gonna drive yourself right off the road ... Also in a car, Ashley orders Abby to pull over. No, Abby shakes her head.
My Thoughts: Ashley can't be THAT smart - assaulting Abby in the police station (not that any of the cops seemed to notice) - and of course, after I typed that during the commercial break, that's exactly what Abby says ... Why would Tucker leave his cell phone sitting unattended on the police station counter? Why wouldn't he have it password protected? ... Sorry - no more time - taking my son out for his birthday dinner.
