The Abbott home couldn't be any more happy. With all three kids there (and Reed staying until Mac delivers), they decorate for a celebratory party. When Kay drops by, Billy sheppards the three 'hooligan's' into the kitchen - leaving Vikki to confirm what Jack told Kay - she won't be accepting the CEO job.
On the patio, Jack's on the phone with a Jabot business associate. Confident that Kay will make him CEO, Jack's first 'plan of attack' is to brand Ashley's new skin care line.
Noah! Grandpa! Inside, Hunter's introduced to Victor (then leaves them to catch up). When Noah repeats his 'we're just friend's' line, Victor laughs - you don't have to explain a damn thing. Chit chat about Noah's music (and Nikki) is interrupted by Jack (still floating on a cloud). Were you BORN with that smug smile? Victor quips - but can only utter a weak 'huh' - when Jack announces he'll soon be running Jabot. Ain't' THAT a 'kick in the pants'?
In Sam's 'homey' kitchen, he pretends to toss salad - while Sharon comments on the 'pretty' woman in the photo on the fridge. Told she's Sam's sister (not his ex), Sharon sadly admits 'there was someone' - but it's over now.
In the suite he shares with Diane (who flips through a magazine on the sofa), Adam fantasizes Sharon, in a red dress, is with him. Where'd you drift to? Diane snaps him out of it - and is told Adam's working on a plan - to bring Victor to his knees.
Over wine, Adam's devised a clever way of kicking Victor where it hurts (and give HIM a chunk of the NE empire). And where does Diane fit in? You, sweetheart, are gonna help me 'kill' Victor Newman.
Jack plans to pick up where Ashley left off, and then some. Victor will believe it when he sees it. Oh, you will - and Jack can't wait to see his face. Joining them, Noah's delivered an envelope of Sharon's personal items; from the crash site.
Over dinner, Sam and Sharon toast the grandma (who influenced his life). But whatever they're drinking from the keg isn't 'right' (so is quickly dumped down the sink). Letting a large dog in, Sam's amused at how quickly the usually shy animal takes to Sharon (who must be a very special person).
Kay can't blame Vikki for wanting to spend time with her family - and is surprised to hear that Nikki's in rehab. Billy rejoining the ladies, Kay drops a little bomb of her own; offering Vikki the CEO position was VICTOR'S idea.
Yeah - the Abbott's DO find it shocking (that Victor would recommend Vikki for the job). He believes you're the best, Kay then gets Billy choking by saying Victor's a forgiving man. He'd never turn his back on his kids, Kay insists (just as they wouldn't on theirs). Think about it (and the Abbott's do just that - as Kay heads up to say 'good bye' to the kids). Maybe he has a heart after all, Billy admits.
Back at CL's, an emotional Noah opens the envelope - a change purse; containing coins and a gas receipt. It's so sad Mom felt she had to leave her old life (even sadder that she never got a new life to make up for it).
After telling Sharon the story of how he took the stray in, Sam gets another visitor. Recognizing him, Sharon does everything but hide under the table (as the carjacker shows Sam a photo - seen this woman around?).
Murder's not my thing, Diane sniffs. Adam shares his plan; the morning of the IPO opening, he'll tip off the media; that Victor's dead - share prices will plummet (letting him buy as much as he can). By the time Victor makes it known he's alive, Adam will be a very wealthy man - AND - having more shares than any other Newman, he'll be joining his father at the board table. When Diane points out how quickly Victor will set the rumour straight, Adam reveals that's where Diane comes in - she's to keep his old man 'on ice'.
Still at CL's, Victor encourages Noah to email or call Grandma. Hearing he needs a place to live, Victor suggests his Mom's place (since Adam no longer has access) ~hug~ Noah's left to think about it. Hunter on the phone, he tells her to take her time shopping - there's something he needs to do.
Having moved on to the patio, Victor confirms that the NE IPO is indeed taking place next week. If Jack's not too busy at Jabot, he'll pick up a 'good chunk'. Yeah? Well, if Kay DOES put Jack in charge of Jabot, Victor will buy him Jack the shares himself.
Diane's to keep Victor out of commission - with no TV, internet, phone etc. he won't know of his rumoured death. What's she to do with him? Adam doesn't care (as long as he's unreachable). Ahhhh - Diane realizes THIS is why Adam took her in. Question is - how rich will SHE be?
Sam studies the photo - sorry - haven't seen her. His search 'slow goin' with the police, the carjacker's going door to door. Maybe the lady knows something? Sherry? You know anythin' 'bout this? Sharon obviously wishes she could disappear.
Meeting Victor at G-worm, Kay first mentions Nikki (how proud she is of her - and how grateful to Victor). Vikki turned her down, but Kay understands her reasons. Adding that she told Vikki the job was HIS idea, Kay encourages Victor to attend the Abbott's party. With Nikki away, Victor MUST support his daughter. Tell her you love her!
The Abbott family party is going well. The kids running off to the kitchen for cupcakes (after a game of Duck, duck, goose), Vikki and Billy pause to marvel at how wonderful their children are.
Sharon's saved from answering when the dog's barking sends the carjacker scurrying off. Imagine - not knowing what happened to someone you love, Sam opines (causing Sharon to look guilty).
What makes Diane think she's getting paid? Because Adam has no friends to ask a favour of - and she's broke. Pay up - and Diane will do whatever it takes. Noah comes knocking - with something that Adam might want.
Reed (on Vikki's knee) and Delia hold gifts to give Lucy (in Billy's arms). There's talk of love and sticking together. We love you too, Reed chirps.
Um - Adam stammers over the change purse. Noah already gave him the engagement ring. Perhaps HE wants to keep this. No, Noah has his mementos. That's kind of you, Diane chimes in. Hearing that Victor offered him Mom's place, Adam encourages him to stay there. It's what Sharon would want. But after Noah leaves, Adam declares Victor an ass - rubbing it in his face that he's locked out of his own house. But - Sharon would want Noah there - and Adam would do anything for her. It's the right thing to do.
After doing the dishes, Sharon thanks Sam for dinner. It was wonderful (the beer 'memorable'). Sam again comments on how bizarre it is that the dog took to her so quickly (and even whines a bit when Sharon gives Sam a hug and leaves). I know, she's special, Sam pets the dog.
Back at G-worm, Victor has another idea for Jabot - give it to him. He'll merge it with BorN and create the biggest cosmetics empire in the world. After the IPO, he's gonna have excess cash - and Kay has enough on her plate. Kay IS tired *sigh* And if Victor owned Jabot, Tucker would no longer pursue BofN. Kay will look over the formal 'proposal' he'll send. Nanoseconds after Victor exits, Jack appears - crowing about how great it'll be - with him back in charge of Jabot. Sit down - things have changed, Kay's serious tone wipes the smile right off Jack's face.
Meeting Noah at CL's, Hunter hears that Noah won't be staying at the campus house with her and Devon. And though she drops hints, Noah fails to ask her to move in with him.
In her barn bedroom, Sharon gets ready for bed - please God, make sure he didn't recognize me, she pleads to the mirror.
One of the last things Sharon touched, Adam comments - as he pulls out the gas receipt. Hmm - it's dated a coupla days before Sharon got to New Mexico. Maybe it wasn't Sharon's after all, Diane suggests.
Back at G-worm, Jack's not happy to hear Kay's selling Jabot. She can't take his word (that he's learned from his mistakes) - nor can she wait until HE can afford to buy the company. You already have a buyer? For my father's legacy? Yes - Kay does; Victor. Jack couldn't look any more horrified.
Vikki's surprised when Victor visits. Hugging Reed, Victor also gushes over Delia (and hears they're having some problems with Phyllis - re: the adoption). Victor agrees with Billy - they'll win. Anyone can see Lucy belongs with them. Vikki's touched when Victor takes Lucy - I'm your grandpa.
Next: Neil holds Sofia's hand across the table - You're only gonna get one second chance, he says gravely ... You're leaving - tonight? Jill's not too happy with Collin's announcement - why is it the first she's hearing of this? ... Cane assures - she didn't see me. You could have ruined everything, Genevieve scolds.
My Thoughts: Yes - how is it that Kay hasn't heard about Nikki's return to rehab? In fact you'd think it would have been blabbed in the tabloids - like the one Billy publishes .... Oh noooo - Sharon doesn't 'need to be rich' (yet - luckily - thanks to her divorce settlements - from Nick and Jack - she IS) .... Sharon never pegged Sam as a 'chicken guy'? Duh - he IS a vet. But since when do one's salt and pepper shakers define who one is? ... You'd think a vet would have trained his dog not to jump up and slobber all over the dinner table (and guests). Yuck ... Maybe Victor has a heart after all? Yes - Billy - he does - your dead niece's heart .... How come the carjacker doesn't know the car he and his wife jacked was wrecked - killing the woman driving it? You'd assume the story woulda made the small town's newspaper .... Really Kay - if she's now so willing to sell Jabot, why couldn't she have offered it to the Abbott's? At least given them the opportunity to bid for it. Surely Abby, with her half billion, could afford to help Jack buy the company. Kay's dear old friend John wouldn't be too happy about his legacy being handed over to his enemy. Unfortunately, he only appears to scold Jack ... Vikki thinks Victor's trying to 'beat her in the beauty industry'? Huh? Other than plastering the stuff on, it's been a long time since Vikki had anything to do with the beauty industry .... Nice jacket Kay - looks like one of Sam's picnic table cloths. But she looks like a Vogue cover compared to whatever monstrosity Vikki's wearing .... I distinctly remember that Jack owns the campus house. He offered the place to Devon and Lily etc, years ago. Yet, there's no indication Noah and Devon negotiated the rental with Jack. In fact, he clearly had no idea Noah was even back in town ... Nobody 'shut' Noah and Devon 'down'? Whew - I'm sure the music industry is heaving a collective sigh of relief. It'd be a travesty to 'shut down' such talent ... I'm not sure what Hunter's deal is (or how young she's supposed to be) - but she obviously has her heart set on living with Noah ... Behind the scenes, there seems to be some controversy regarding MTS (Nikki) - who, for reasons unknown, has not received a script (or been called in to work) since her last scenes aired June 3rd. I won't comment (because I'm not entirely up to date on the facts). That said, I'd be most disappointed if the show decided to release MTS from her role - especially in such a disrespectful manner. Fans of both the show and MTS are encouraged to get informed - and get active. Thanks to Cleo for the following information. (please copy/paste the links)
