At CL's, the Baldwin's are chatting when Phyllis breezes in with a cheery 'hello'. Getting the cold shoulder, Phyllis reiterates - she's doing this for her son. Lauren and Mike are 'through' with Phyllis (who 'walks away' as instructed).

In the courtroom, Daisy looks like a total 'dork' in the conservative dress. Better than a jumpsuit, Leslie tells her to drop the attitude (the Judge will see through her if she's not convincing). Arriving, Daniel warns Daisy that his Mom's using her. And if Daisy wanted what's best for her daughter, she'd turn around and leave (Lucy with the Abbott's; where she belongs).

Ready to leave for court, the Abbott's sit to enjoy a few more minutes with Lucy (their somber faces giving away their fear that it'll be their last).

At G-worm, Glo and Jeff's bickering is interrupted when Jeff welcomes Genevieve (a little too warmly for Glo's liking). Genevieve's throwing herself a party - now. No guests - just a bottle. She's celebrating. And as Jeff's eyes follow Genevieve, Glo's bore into her overly friendly hubby.

What do you want Diane?! We have nothing to say to one another, Nick's blunt (as Diane chases him into G-worm - to say she really loved him). Nick's not interested in giving Diane another chance. Their post New Mexico romp was just sex. Yes, Nick DID have feelings for Diane - but he could never trust her. What about lunch? a desperate Diane begs. Nick's just not interested - Diane can bounce between his father and slimy brother - HE'S taking himself out of the equation - permanently.

At home, Jack's plops himself down in front of the TV and opens his laptop - The highly anticipated Newman IPO is taking place today. At home, Victor mutes the TV to call Mike. The good word? NE stock should start off at $50-$60 range - but - it should go higher than $90 by the closing bell. Victor hopes there's no surprises. Mike took care of that.

At the suite, Adam's also positioned in front of his laptop (while Diane gripes about his obsession with sticking it to Victor). Having a 'bad morning', Diane's no longer thinking of backing out. Yes - the plan will work - giving Adam more money than he can ever spend. If Diane does her part, she'll get her cut. Don't mess this up.

Victor listens to the TV broadcast - NE is officially on the block. Will it be boon or bust? Oh, it'll be a boon, Adam's sure - and not just for Victor.

Oh come on! Not today! Jack's cable and internet goes out. On cue, Diane drops by - with inside information (that will help him screw Victor; just like she's helping Adam do). OK - a skeptical Jack bites. Diane will share her info - for a price. As a show of good faith, she'll let him post date the check for tomorrow. If he's not satisfied, Jack can cancel it.

Getting a glare from Daniel, Phyllis approaches Daisy - you look great. Daniel's warning (not to trust her) relayed, Phyllis reassures. Even if your son ends up hating you? Daisy prods. When Nick arrives, it's quickly clarified that he's there for Vikki. Hurting? If they lose Lucy they'll be devastated, he corrects. Phyllis is doing this for her family (of which Nick will 'always' be part of). Not after this, Nick snaps - then takes a seat beside Daniel.

In the hallway, Vikki's not too happy that a social worker will be taking care of Lucy during the hearing. It's standard procedure, Rafe reassures. It's time, they file into the court room. Hold the door! Lauren arrives - but as she's not on the list, can't give testimony regarding Daisy Carter (so is left to stew in the hallway). Inside, all squirm - as Leslie stands for her opening statement.

Glo's not far behind (as Jeff pours Genevieve's champagne). Jack races in (to use their wi fi). Not impressed with G-worm's best ($200 a bottle), Genevieve makes a request; a 1995 champagne. Yes, $700 - order a case (for when she comes in). Yes, Genevieve appreciates the finer things in life - and who's that man? Jack Abbott - rich and important, Glo winks (then leads her hubby away). Interesting, Genevieve admires Jack.

On the patio, Mike's got his laptop in front of him - and Victor on the phone. They'll meet in Victor's office in a half hour (to watch history being made). Enter Adam. What does HE care about the IPO (since he sold his stock options)? More than you'd think, Adam looks smug/mischievous.

Muting the TV, Victor gets a call from the guard house. Diane? Tell her I'm busy. She's upset - says it's urgent, the guard persists. With a sigh, Victor says 'let her in'. I'll be a bit late (he calls Mike - and will call again when he leaves the ranch). Diane wastes no time - I'm pregnant! she announces. You're what?! Victor couldn't look more surprised (and not a good surprise).

Demure on the stand, Daisy (as lead by Leslie) explains that she missed the hearing because she was hiding in Canada (her Aunt forced her to hold two people hostage). Her eyes dewey, Daisy goes on to explain that she had no money - everyone was against her - she escaped for her baby's sake. She's really shoveling it, Billy hisses to Vikki.

Back at G-worm, Jack shoos the nosey/friendly Gloria away. Eyes fixed on his laptop, Jack assures whomever's on the phone that the stock will go lower - trust me - double my shares - but don't do anything until you hear from me. At a nearby table, Genevieve eavesdrops - and after removing her ring, joins Jack. Sounds exciting, she purrs.

Told to stop 'hovering' Adam saunters onto the patio - to boast that Tucker paid more for HIS shares. Adam agrees with Mike - money doesn't buy health of happiness (in fact, the stress can be detrimental to one's health).

IF Diane's pregnant, Victor's sure it's not his. But the 'faithful' Diane hasn't been with anyone else (certainly not Adam). This baby is YOURS. Arms folded, Victor reminds Diane 'Jenkins' that she's been down this road before. Until a DNA test is done, Diane has no money or health insurance. Alright. Alright what? Victor will keep her 'afloat' - and take full responsibility (if the baby's his). Now show yourself out. What did Diane expect? A declaration of love? Victor scoffs (already busy on his phone). Might I have a glass of water before I go? Diane's performance begins. Doubling over in sudden agony, she claims she's been cramping and spotting. Something's really wrong, she wails. Softening, Victor sits Diane down and calls an ambulance.

Help's on the way, Victor's supportive (as Diane moans and groans - it hurts!). And as Victor goes to let the medics in, Diane puts his cell phone in her glass of water (then dries and replaces it). Looking concerned, Victor will follow the ambulance in his car. No - Diane's scared - stay with me. OK, Victor promises.

Lauren joins Mike on the patio (to whine that she wasn't allowed in to testify about Daisy; who's parental rights could be reinstated). She'll go back to jail until the trial, Mike's sure - but Lucy could go to either Phyllis or the Abbott's. It's gonna get ugly.

It's Rafe's turn - you gave birth and ran - dumped the kid. Objection, Leslie jumps up. You abandoned Lucy - with the clothes on her back. Yes, Daisy sniffles - because she didn't want her baby raised on the run. She knew the church would find a good home. And that's exactly what happened, Rafe points out - with the Abbott's, Lucy had everything (you wanted for her). But, Daisy missed Lucy so much - giving her up was the worst mistake (she realized that after reading Phyllis' blog). Rafe claims the only reason Daisy 'stepped up' is because Phyllis promised to get the charges (against her) dropped.

Phyllis on the stand, Leslie immediately 'sets things straight' - did she make such a deal with Ms Carter? Phyllis agreed to support her being a mother to her child - but didn't promise her freedom. Daisy's a 'different' woman now (one who deserves a second chance). The Abbott's may care for Lucy - but she was never unwanted - and should never have been adopted. If Daisy's rights are reinstated, Lucy will be in the best hands possible.

On cross, Rafe gets Phyllis to admit that Daisy's only been back a week - that she's only spent 4 hours with her. Yes, Phyllis, a MOTHER, sees 'the look' in Daisy's eyes - it says 'I love my child - I'd do anything for her'. Hmm - 'anything' - like singing the praises of a woman you despise (in order to get custody of your son's child)? Phyllis wants justice to be served - no matter the consequences.

Stop staring/drooling, the embarrassed Gloria chides her hubby (then wonders who 'she' is - and what she's talking to Jack about). Focused on his laptop, Jack's mildly annoyed by Genevieve's nosiness. Assuring she's no SCC agent , Genevieve finally makes Jack smile (by offering to let him check to see that she's not wearing a wire).

As Diane steps up her performance in the ambulance (Victor at her side), Adam's on the phone (great - you got the footage - send it to me). Nanoseconds later, Adam's smiling at his laptop (as he calls with a story that'll blow the editor's mind).

On the stand, Daniel testifies that Daisy drugged and slept with him - to get herself pregnant. Then she whacked him on the head - left him on the side of the road to die. Anyone who'd rip a child away from the only parents she's knows (who've loved her) - doesn't have any idea what it takes to be a mother. Do not sentence Lucy to a life of hell (he gestures towards Daisy) - when she has everything she needs (he gestures towards the Abbott's). Court in recess, Daniel hugs Vikki. Phyllis hisses at Leslie - I don't care what you have to do - salvage this.

Loverman's off to the bank - leaving Gloria to keep her eye on the 'mystery woman' (who's wondering what Jack's waiting for). Eyes glued to his laptop, Jack's gut tells him the stock's about to drop.

Oh, it's true, Adam's still on the phone. He's just sent footage of an ambulance leaving the ranch.

Are we almost there? Diane whines - then thanks the supportive Victor.

Still monitoring the IPO on the patio, Mike grins - the stock price continues to rise - with no end in sight. But after he leaves a message for Victor, Mike's grin slips (when the news reports that Victor's suffered a stroke). Pick up - pick up! me dials Victor immediately.

In the ambulance, Victor holds Diane's hand.

Next: Billy points at Daisy - If you give that baby to that blatant psycho you're gonna ruin her life. You want that on your head? the Judge bangs her gavel - that's enough (Vikki and Daniel watch on in horror) ... At the ranch, Nick and Mike look at one another - stunned by the news report; Victor Newman has died ... Place the order, Jack says into his phone - buy now! You are fired up, Genevieve smiles.

My Thoughts: Jack 'trusts his gut'? Why didn't it kick in when Patty replaced his wife? ... Diane doubles over in agony. Something you ate? Victor ways (and by something, he means someONE) ... You can't have love without trust? Nick manages to say with a straight face (like he's the most trustworthy guy on the planet) He's a fine one to be talking about anyone 'bouncing' between two partners. That said, Diane was pathetic when begging for Nick's attention. And if he'd agreed to have lunch with her, Diane would have 'backed out' of Adam's plan I assume. So - because Diane didn't get the son, she's screwing over his father? Financially? Not too nice (considering Victor's created a trust fund for her son). I get that she's pissed - but really - it's not like she married Victor for love. Good that she came back to GC - to show everyone that she's 'changed'. .... First Diane insists the baby's Victor's - because she didn't sleep with anyone else. THEN, she admits she was faithful UNTIL she knew it was hopeless (meaning she HAS slept with someone else) ... Nice that Nick's in court to support his sister - but isn't he interested in the IPO? .... Daisy will be lucky if Phyllis 'remembers her name'? How could she forget the name of the woman who tried to KILL her? And how many 'Daisy's' does Phyllis know? It's not like she's a Mary or a Jane .... Why is Phyllis even saying 'hello' to the Baldwin's (like nothing happened)? What part of Lauren's 'we're done' didn't she understand? ... Oh 'come ON' indeed - Jack's house is the only one to lose cable and internet services? Did he forget to pay his bill? Why isn't he calling his provider's tech support (guess he knows he'll be sitting on hold for hours). But doesn't he have any FRIENDS or neighbours he could go to? ... Daisy's dress isn't just dowdy - it's extremely unflattering (thanks to being almost the same colour as her skin). And why is Phyllis sporting a lookalike hair style? (also very unflattering). The style itself isn't bad - but the usually striking Phyllis actually looked manly today ... NOW Lauren wants to have her say in court regarding Daisy? If only she'd gone to Rafe days ago - her statement could have made the difference. But, didn't Lauren provide a statement at some point following her rescue? Why wouldn't Rafe enter such pertinent information into evidence? Wouldn't the Judge have investigated the questionable woman she's considering reinstating parental rights to? Even Daisy knows she'll be behind bars until Lucy's 'walking'. Wouldn't the Judge wonder who's gonna take care of Lucy while her mother's in prison? And since Daisy's obviously a flight risk - she'll be behind bars pending trial. Lucy wouldn't be going home with Daisy anyway - so what's the rush in reinstating her parental rights? Why is family court so much quicker than criminal court? .. On the stand, Daisy claims she KNEW she'd be convicted. Isn't that an admission of guilt right there? That she knew no one would buy her 'my Aunt made me do it' defense? .... Phyllis is doing this 'for her family'? Huh? Nick's done with her - she's going against Daniel - and she certainly isn't doing it for Summer ... 'Lotsa bubbles' indeed Genevieve - by now, Jeff should be able to pour a glass of champagne - not foam. Why are the Bardwell's more interested in a new customer - than buying some NE shares for themselves? .... Jack and Genevieve? No!!! Is he a magnet for psychotic women? ..... NOW the guard's call up to announce visitors? They never call up to announce any other visitors .... Why would the Bardwell's order expensive champagne - when there's no guarantee this first time customer will be back? Surprising that G-worm's 'best' isn't good enough for Genevieve (since billionaires like Victor, Kay and Tucker seem to like it just fine). It's not even lunchtime and Genevieve's already drinking? That oughtta tell Jack that she's his kinda gal ... Oh yeah - Phyllis is a mother. I forgot (which is understandable - since she's all but abandoned Summer - in her pursuit of her granddaughter) ... If Daniel claims that Daisy drugged him - then 'slept with' him - why didn't he use the word 'rape'? And why hasn't this been added to Daisy's list of charges? (which should be resolved BEFORE she gets to apply to reinstate her rights)... Yeah, Victor 'promises' to stay with Diane (just like he promised to forsake all others .....)
