On the CL's patio, Phyllis tells Nick she's been shopping - baby items and a b-day gift for Jack. Lucy's with Ms Edmunds. Awkward, Phyllis hopes Nick won't hold her words against her (during a moment of vulnerability). He wouldn't dream of it.
Meanwhile, inside CL's, Vikki bumps into Billy - literally. Billy stammers an explanation about the 'hot blonde' (who he was just showing out). He drank too much - but would NEVER cheat on Vikki. Yeah, well - he's done a lot lately Vikki didn't think he'd do (then without further word goes to fetch Reed).
Ending a call with Traci, Jack gets a visit from Adam - to argue about him closing the hedge fund down (which isn't up for debate). Arriving at Jack's office, Phyllis also shoos Adam out - but when she gets a call from the guy going through the memory cards - and tells him to 'chuck em out'). Annoyed she didn't tell him she bought up al the memory cards, Adam wants them (vowing to do anything to clear Sharon's name).
Guess I really fell for you, Sam quips (on the barn's floor). Sharon can't believe he went out and got drunk - like some frat guy. Sam's sorry - he screwed up (and really needs to get to bed). Sharon's never seen this side of him - and cuts Sam off to confirm he can make it up to the house by himself. Gnight then. Wait. What? Whaddaya want? she snaps. Sam wants to try again tomorrow. Sharon thinks it time she moved on. Good - run away - it's your MO, Sam replies.
You're really showing me who you are tonight, Sharon frowns, arms folded. Yeah - you too - getting bent outta shape about Same being a little late. Try HOURS. Doesn't take much with you, Sam tells Sharon to go ahead and run - nothing's permanent. Like this bucket (which he kicks). Dammit - he then punches the wall - and crumples to the floor in pain. He didn't even say good bye. Who? O'Keefe - he's dead.
Jack coolly declines birthday Martini's with Phyllis. Discussing Adam and Sharon, Phyllis opines - that's what you do when you love someone - you never give up.
Back at his trailer, Billy cleans up empties. Nick arrives - You sober? If Billy's serious about selling RS, Nick's got the papers drawn up (and in hand).
At home, Vikki needs to pack Reed up (to go back to DC). Told he doesn't wanna go, Vikki assures they'll talk online - and he'll be a great big brother to the new baby (just like he was to Lucy). Still pouting, Reed asks his Mom to call Billy - 'so we can say good bye'
Taking at seat at G-worm, Phyllis is happy Jack decided to come out. All's not forgiven, he makes clear (though Phyllis doesn't feel she's the 'bad guy' - and is tired of apologizing). Jack didn't know she'd STARTED apologizing. Phyllis repeats she did this for her son - is sorry people got hurt etc. etc. Billy and Daniel both lied (and are to blame). She's sick of being the bad guy - but is sorry to hear the Abbott's broke up. Not the first time she's broken up a couple who've lost a child, Jack reminds. THIS is not at all like what happened with Nick and Sharon (when Cassie died) - they had HUGE problems, Phyllis points out. Though apologizing (for the low blow), Jack will never approve of her taking Lucy (but, he's not impressed with Billy's decisions either). At the bar, Genevieve watches with interest.
The price is right - Billy goes over (and signs) the papers. He's 'done' with lawyers right now. Both now with signed copies, Nick wonders what's next for Billy (who SHOULD be talking to Vikki - whom he might lose forever). Billy's now left alone to take a call from Vikki (who asks him to come over to say 'good bye' to Reed).
Adam's now at CL's - and given envelopes full of memory cards. It may be a 'painstaking process' but if he finds the footage (he saw in Thailand), it'll all be worth it.
Sharon consoles Sam - so sorry his dog's dead. Sam relays finding him on the porch - he had a stroke. There was nothing he could do. O'Keefe's eyes were so sad. Sam's put down a lot of pets - it's part of the job. He climbed up on the table and held the dog (who then faded away). Stupid dog - Sam buried him - then stopped off at a bar. He's sorry he stood her up - and said nasty things. It's OK, Sharon reassures. In tears, Sam thinks the dog really liked Sharon (who loved him).
Tickled into fits of laughter, Reed's told to stay in touch with Billy (who will send him corny jokes; like the one he now tells). Reed sent upstairs, Vikki and Billy both have regrets. The trailer will never be home to him. Reed then returns - to awkward silence.
Back at G-worm, Jack and Phyllis toast - to his b-day - and success at Jabot. Genevieve saunters over, the ever present glass of bubbly in hand (to ask what they're celebrating). Jack introduces the women. Charmed. Nice to meet you too (neither the words or smiles are remotely sincere).
Now with the memory cards and instructions, Adam thanks Garrett (who, shaking Adam's hand, hopes he finds what he's looking for). Spotting Noah, Adam's invitation to take a seat are declines. Fine - if he's too busy to hear how Adam's gonna clear his mother's name .... Noah bites - and is shown the memory cards (one of which may prove Sharon tried to save Skye). Mom's gone - what good will it do? Clearing Sharon's name matters to Adam (and he thought it'd matter to Noah).
Still seated on the barn floor, Sam's sorry to burden Sharon (who looks so pretty in a dress). He was really looking forward to tonight. Sharon's glad he opened up his heart to her - and knows how much he loved O'Keefe. She then worries about his bruised hand - and offers to help him to the house. 'Nice and slow', they head out.
Vikki explains that she can't go with Reed to DC - she won't be alone - and she'll be busy working. You will? Yes - she tells Billy that she's working for Victor again. Yes - it IS big news.
Joining Jack and Phyllis at G-worm, Nick 'borrows' Phyllis - to announce he just bought RS. That leaves Genevieve to join Jack (who admits he likes independent women - like Phyllis, whom he was once married to). Genevieve's unexpected visits are starting to be a habit. Yes, and no one should drink alone on their birthday, she coos.
Seems Genevieve and Jack have done some research on one another. Nope - Genevieve overheard that it's his birthday (and likes to be mysterious). When a bottle of champagne is brought over, Genevieve boasts that it's her own private reserve. You don't know what you've been missing, she flirts.
Meanwhile, Phyllis can't believe Billy sold RS - and that Nick bought it. Congratulated, Nick does plan to make it even more successful - once he gets Phyllis to come work for him again.
Back at CL's, Noah offers to help Adam go through the memory cards. But he's wrong (about Adam not liking him). Having something important in common, they're the only two who give a damn about Sharon's memory. So - Noah's more than welcome to help with the project.
In Sam's bedroom, Sharon gives the bare chested vet a bag of ice for his hand. Sam never expected this - doesn't know why Sharon came to him. Fine being alone, he wasn't waiting (or praying) for anyone. Then - one day he saw her - hoped she's stick around. Knowing she should go, Sam asks Sharon to stay.
Returning to the trailer, Billy twiddles his thumbs - then goes through the Racing Journal (and calls his bookie). Apparently told he lost on his bets, Billy figures 'it's only money' - and hanging up, drinks.
Vikki's home too (and ending her call with JT), sits to mope alone a moment - then calls Brian (wanting to be up to speed for next week's board meeting).
Over bubbly at G-worm, Genevieve offers to write down the name of the champagne. Handing her a pen, Jack would also like her number too. Hmmm - no. You'll see me around. Genevieve leaves Jack, his curiosity piqued - to enjoy the champagne - and his birthday.
Nick didn't track Phyllis down just to tell her he bought RS - it's not a 'pity' job. We were 'great' last time. As colleagues, they both agree. Phyllis needs to think about it - she has Lucy (and Summer) to consider. Work from home, Nick suggests - reminding that he's also raising kids. OK - Phyllis will come back to RS.
In Adam's suite, he and Noah are on the laptop. And when Noah takes some of the memory cards home, Adam says - your mother'd be proud of you, Now alone, Adam frowns at his laptop - Come on Sharon. Where are you baby?
There she is - her hand in Sam's. Caressing one another, they kiss - the dress coming off. In white panties and strapless bra Sharon's laid out on the bed - as Sam kisses her.
Next: Dear Sam, Sharon writes (as he's sleeping in the bed behind her). There's so much I want to say to you (flashback over her history with Nick and Adam). She wants to tell him everything, about who she is - how she got here - but can't do it in person - so is writing this letter.
My Thoughts: Noah sees a memory card - containing a bunch of kids with cap and gowns. Must be a graduation, he reasons. Gee? Ya think? ... Billy's not the serius a gambler - one race - one horse - to win? No exactor? No trifactor? Did he really expect a jackpot with such a rookie bet? .... Good advice nurse Sharon - hold this bag of ice til you go to sleep (never mind the puddle Sam'll wake up to in his bed) ... Jack doesn't feel the least bit of remorse at shutting the hedge fund down? After begging everyone he knows to invest in it? (and didn't it go belly up, thanks to Victor, months ago? Making it necessary for Jack to pay the investors out of his own pocket?) ... Did the falling down drunk Sam drive himself home? ... Sharon 'loved' this dog? Quick bond - considering she'd only petted the stray a few times. If only she loved her kids as much. Shouldn't seeing Sam's grief over the death of a stray dog remind her of the anguish her children (mother, friends and ex lovers) might be going through? ... Ink barely dry on the custody agreement, and Phyllis is already leaving Lucy with a neighbour? While she conducts very important business - at CL's and G-worm? I'm surprised she didn't try enlist Daniel to babysit. At least Vikki planned to turn down a lucrative career... One thing NOT mysterious about Genevieve - is her wardrobe. Doesn't she ever wear anything besides black? How is that the whole town doesn't know who she is (and what she's doing in GC?). Neil, Jill, Daniel, Malcolm, Sofia, Kay - not one single person's spread gossip any gossip about the exciting night - when a dead man was revealed to be alive - and the kidnapping of two babies was foiled? No TV reporters chased the ambulance and fire trucks? .... And at the rate she's consuming the $700 bottles of champagne, perhaps she shoulda ordered more than one case ... Billy's 'done' with lawyers? It's not really Rafe's fault he bought a baby (even if he DID provide the broker's name and conduct a half assed job representing the Abbott's in family court). OK - I see why Billy's done with lawyers. That said, he may not be drunk - but Billy's head is clearly fuzzy. What's the rush to sell? He can't take an extra day to ensure the contract's in his best interest ... Poor Jack - what a lame birthday it's turning out to be ... Wouldn't Piper's Mom be thrilled to see Sharon sitting on the dirty barn floor - in her borrowed white dress. Are the white bra and panties on loan too? Cause they're a pretty good fit. Guess Piper didn't know Sharon usually favours black lingerie. I can't imagine Piper's Mom will want the clothes back now ... Won't Vikki be pleased to hear that her supportive 'let me know if I can do anything to help' brother has hired Phyllis ... Can you keep a secret? Nick asks (and with an equally straight face Phyllis replies - you know I can). What!?
