Jack and Jill are at the boutique - to wrap up last minute details for tomorrow's big launch. There with the twins, Lily gets birthday wishes - but sorry, no 'sneak peek'. Of COURSE Daniel knows about the launch - it's all over the media. All smiles fade when Collin arrives to ogle the twins. And, of course, Genevieve's hot on his heels.
At Lily's place, Malcolm's in a good mood (considering) - until Devon comments that he'll soon be a father too. They hope Lily won't be mad (that they're throwing her a party - against her wishes). Unsure whether Sofia's coming, Malcolm lets Devon assume she's busy (with Tucker out of commission still). Arriving, Neil gets a subdued greeting (and the stink eye) from Malcolm (who's even less pleased to see Sofia). Devon's only slightly puzzled (when Malcolm sends him off to get the cake - as he, Sofia and Neil need to 'talk'). Or - in Malcolm's words; straighten some things out.
Kevin's pleased when Angelo shows up at CL's (to report that business is booming). People are more willing to take risks? Kevin credits the recovering economy. 'One person in particular', is responsible for Angelo's grin.
Sure she's separated from Billy. Sure they have issues - but Vikki (now on the stand) knows Billy's a good father. Anyone who says otherwise .. well, there's no truth to that. Rafe leads Vikki to glowingly describe the perfect father/daughter relationship. If ever separated, both would be devastated - and Vikki prays it doesn't come to that. Silent, both Billy and Chloe hang on every word of her testimony.
Yes, Sofia's left numerous messages for Malcolm - but, not ONCE has she mentioned the baby's paternity (and THAT'S what concerns him). Neil asks if she's taken any steps to find out. Sofia has (and explains the RH test that will determine who's the baby-Daddy). She's already scheduled the blood test.
As Jill physically blocks doting Grandma Genevieve, Lily instructs Daniel to wheel the twins out - then cuts off Collin's 'lies' to say she's sick that he's free. A restraining order in effect, Lily will have NO problem putting Collin in jail (the next time he 'accidentally' runs into the twins). You always did know how to clear a room, Genevieve smirks (as Lily marches out).
Lead by Rafe, Vikki explains that Lucy's adoption was declared invalid - but no one ever questioned their ability to care for her. As for them hiring Jana - who knew? Jana doted on the girls. Yes, Chloe warned them - but had no evidence. Vikki continues to paint Billy as the world's best father. Every child should have as caring and competent a father. Rafe's objection sustained, Chloe's lawyer brings up Reed - and the illegal adoption. Who does that? A man who loves his wife, is Vikki's last statement (before exiting). What the hell was that?! Chloe frets to her lawyer - it was a disaster.
Arriving at Lily's front door, Daniel (not wanting her to be blindsided again) tattles that her family's inside - to surprise her. Grateful for the warning, Lily's sent in. Act surprised, Daniel goes to fetch her gift from his car. Surprise! all chorus as Lily enters for a round of hugs. Ominous music plays - as someone watches through the window. Inside, there's tension between Sofia, Neil and Malcolm - as they head to the kitchen. Outside, a puzzled Daniel picks up a wrapped gift. Opening the card, he reads 'I'll never stop loving you, Cane' - and pockets it before heading inside.
As all enjoy cake, Lily thanks Daniel for his gift (a two hour spa massage). And as Lily unwraps Cane's gift, Daniel lets her believe the perfume's from him too.
Back at the boutique, Jill needles Collin about his 'wife'. Handed a 'meet me for coffee' note, Jack exits (leaving Jill to ask Collin who he's stalking; her, Genevieve or the twins). None of the above - Collin's there to buy suits.
All smiles, Angelo talks about the customer who's single handedly increasing his profits. He's got time on his hands and cash to burn. In fact, Angelo could use Kevin to manage the revenue. He'll think about it. Ahh - Chloe - lovely as ever, Angelo leaves her to tell Kevin that Vikki showed up - to testify for Billy.
Meanwhile, Billy shows up at Vikki's door - to stammer his gratitude. Her showing up today - it meant a lot.
Joining Genevieve on the patio, Jack's surprised she's not drinking something stronger (after the scene he just witnessed). No, Genevieve didn't invite Jack over to discuss Jill and Collin's relationship - and meeting for coffee is a standard 'first date'. Is that what this is? Jack's interested (and pleased that Genevieve wants to get to know him better).
Reminding that Kay trashed his wardrobe, Collin insists he's there for suits. Shop online, Jill barks. But Collin still needs a tailor - to do the fittings. He didn't expect her to be working so late - and is being completely upfront.
Still at the front door, Billy apologizes for his rudeness (when Vikki dropped by the trailer). Not wanting him to get the wrong idea, she testified because she doesn't want Billy to lose Delia too - but it doesn't change things between them (though it does for Billy). Claiming she needs to catch up on the work she missed while testifying, Vikki's left to look sad and lonely.
The twins asleep, Devon suggests they play a game (that requires teams of two). Partnered with Sofia, Malcolm figures she's too tired (which she goes along with). And when Lily finally asks what's going on - demands the truth, Neil, Sofia and Malcolm squirm.
Lily, Devon (and Daniel) are surprised when Malcolm announces he's moved to the club. You just got married - are having a baby! We're not sure about that either, Malcolm adds. An affair? Daniel thinks it a bit too much information for 'us'. There's more, Malcolm's eager to bust Sofia and Neil (who's forced to announce he might be the father) - which understandably stuns the younger three.
Drowning his sorrows at G-worm's bar, Billy's again hit on by a hot blonde (and once again more interested in his drink).
At home, Vikki types on her laptop - flashing back over her turbulent relationship with Billy. Suddenly having an epiphany, she grabs her keys and runs out.
Daniel, Devon and Lily are extremely disappointed - after all the bad blood - after Dru - was the brother's getting along all an act? The last thing Neil wanted to do was hurt his brother. Loving Malcolm with all her heart, Sofia can only hope he forgives her (though his expression indicates that's a stretch).
It was all good until Vikki butted in, Chloe whines to Kevin. Yeah - she may be Delia's stepmother, but since she and Billy are separated, Vikki won't have to deal with the consequences (if Billy retains custody). Would that be so horrible? Kevin still thinks Billy a good Dad (and Chloe fears the Judge will too).
While Vikki knocks at the trailer door (and is disappointed to get no response), the hot blonde continues to work on the couldn't-care-less Billy (who instead of driving her home, leaves a $100 bill to cover her taxi).
Enjoying his very enjoyable 'date', Jack's impressed when Genevieve sounds knowledgeable as she praises his business acumen. She's 'dabbled in the industry' (that fascinates her). Wondering what other interests they have in common, Jack looks forward to discussing it - on their next date.
The note on Collin's garment bag does indeed say he'd be picking it up tonight - could that by why Jill's working so late? No employee discount? he quips. How can you joke? Jill's unamused. Seeing him with the twins tonight reminded her of what he planned to do. Collin wants his grandkids in his life. He figured that was his only option - and believe it or not, he's glad he didn't leave town. Good night, a smiling Collin leaves Jill troubled.
Still at Lily's, Devon and Malcolm chat (about what he'll do if the baby's Neil's). What CAN Malcolm do (surely not forget it happened). A supportive Devon pats the depressed Malcolm on the back.
At CL's, Sofia apologizes to Neil. The way Devon and Lily looked at them - it must be so much worse for Neil, she knows. Better than hiding it, Neil figures. Sofia knows how Neil feels about them spending time together (behind Malcolm's back) - but she has no one to talk to. We'll deal with it as it happens, Neil's support turns Sofia's frown upside down.
At G-worm (with Daniel), Lily feels sick about what's happened. Poor Malcolm - Neil and Sofia SHOULD feel terrible. It's so screwed up. Lily trusted and respected 'these people'. Her Dad lied. After what happened to him, did he not learn his lesson? Cue Daniel's confession that he didn't buy the perfume. Lily knew it was from Cane (as Paris is 'their' city). Reading the card that came with it, effects Lily deeply.
It doesn't matter that Vikki told the truth on the stand. Chloe tells Kevin that she needs Billy to be responsible - and he's NOT.
Finding the spare key outside, Vikki lets herself into the trailer - and looking decidedly out of place, sits to wait for Billy.
Outside G-worm, Billy's irritated when the hot blonde pursues him - and even more irritated when he finds himself under arrest - for solicitation!
Next: I got a call from a friend of mine in the DA's office - told me all about what you've been up to, Adam confronts Diane ... The hearing's about to start - and Daddy's nowhere to be found, the lawyer tells Chloe (who, with Kevin, suggests he overslept) ... In an interrogation room, Billy insists - I didn't hire a hooker. The trick is convincing everyone else, Rafe responds.
My Thoughts: If Vikki wanted to help Billy retain custody of Delia, wouldn't presenting themselves as a stable couple be better than Billy as a single father? .... Lily 'won't have any problem' putting Collin in jail? I don't see how. If diplomatic immunity protected him from kidnapping charges, I doubt breaching a restraining order would put him behind bars .... Why is Jill handling the big launch instead of Lauren? ... Vikki's 'praying' that Billy doesn't lose custody? Is she kneeling to pray before getting into bed each night? Or praying at church? Clearly her prayers aren't very effective (or she wouldn't have lose Reed and Lucy) ... Is there any doubt that the 'one person in particular' who's increasing Angelo's profits - is Billy? Hard to believe that he's betting enough to get any bookie so excited .... No wonder blondes have such a bad rap. Today's tart du jour is really stupid enough to get into a car with a strange man - who's obviously been drinking all night? Has MADD seen the show? Is Billy really gonna drive home intoxicated? Has he forgotten the front page headline (of his dream journey) - that announced his death from drunk driving? I guess his kind act (of giving the blonde cab fare will be used as evidence against him). Too bad the nosey Deacon wasn't behind the bar to witness the interaction ... Was it really necessary for all three (Neil, Sofia and Malcolm) to file into the kitchen to find a knife? .... If Sofia loves Malcolm with 'all her heart' why is she spending time with Neil (behind his back) - and in such a public place ... But really - if Malcolm had any self respect, he'd have tried to keep this embarrassing situation a secret. If the baby IS his - and he DOES decide to stay with Sofia, surely it can't benefit the situation that everyone knows about the affair between his wife and brother .. I see why Lily specifically asked them NOT to throw a party for her. Some way to show her that the family 'cares about her' - thanks for the stress, disillusionment and disgust! ... Love how Malcolm's got his purple shirt tucked in at both sides - God forbid we miss the gaudy belt buckle he's sporting. Too bad he opened to door one too many times (untucking his shirt). Malcolm then sends Devon off to pick up Lily's cake - without giving him any cash - or letting him know where he ordered the cake from ... Does this have anything to do with Jabot's line launch tomorrow? Daniel asks. How did you know about that? Lily's dumbfounded. Duh - aren't both questions answered by the giant sign they're both standing in front of (that announces just that)? ... Daniel's a 'terrible liar'? Since when? He did a great job on Lily's front porch (when telling her he was signing her card) ... Who would name (or buy) a perfume désolé (I'm sorry in French)? Sorry what? Sorry it costs so much? Sorry it smells so bad? .... Daniel's seen ads for Jabot's launch 'all over the internet'? I wouldn't have thought Jack's marketing plan included porn sites ... The first scene was barely audible (thanks to whatever one of the twins was crunching away on)
