At home, Vikki yet again pauses over a framed photo of her and Billy - but is soon on to other problems (as she's aghast to see Abby being interviewed on TV; announcing her new job at NE; a major 'bitch slap to Jabot' (and to her Mom and Uncle). At CL's, Genevieve watches with interest (as Abby claims it's healthy competition - no 'diss'). Abby raves about Vikki (the 'diva' in charge). Controversy is 'hot', she giggles for the camera. Sounds like my kinda people, Genevieve decides.
At G-worm, Diane makes a quick call to Kyle (in Switzerland); see you in a coupla days. Love you too ~click~ She then meets Leslie. Despite the possibility of facing charges (and infuriating a 'very powerful man'), Diane wants to proceed with her lawsuit. Jack interrupts - wondering why he can't reach their son.
At the State pen, Sharon doesn't want Victor to see her like this. I'm here to help, he smiles ~hug~ But wait - Sharon's alone. Until Sam shows up that is.
Finding Victor at his door, Adam greets him with sarcasm; uh oh - you're making that 'angry Dad' face. Marching in, Victor vows he'll deal with what he's done to Sharon.
Sam was on his way home - but ran into Victor (so is back). Admitting she's not fine, Sharon's embarrassed (that Adam tricked her with a phony proposal). She also knows he could have helped her (if he wanted to) - and that he's happy to see her behind bars.
Evidence? Oh - you spoke to (and believed Sharon), Adam thought his Dad was smarter than that. Victor's giving him one chance. She's lying, Adam denies he has proof of Sharon's innocent. She humiliated me - jumping in bed with the next guy she found, Adam complains. Victor knows Adam THINKS he has a plan - but assures it'll backfire.
Leslie leaves Jack to question (and bicker with) Diane (about Kyle; who's 'probably' in class). Deacon and G-worm's patrons all turn in unison to glare - as Jack issues a loud and clear warning; Diane better not undermine his relationship with his son. Try and you'll regret it!
Abby enters Vikki's office - ok - so she probably shouldn't have made the announcement - but she doesn't want Dad to squash the genius idea (that will put her back in the limelight). Vikki thinks the announcement was brilliant - and 'exploding' sales will ensure Victor doesn't squash it. Genevieve arrives - to introduce herself (and kiss Abby's ass). Vikki's less impressed - how can we help you? Genevieve was hoping SHE could help THEM.
'Call me Genevieve' prefers to ditch the last name Atkinson (especially amongst 'friends') - and she won't hold it against Vikki that Jill's her mother in law. Now seated, Genevieve would like to be known as more than the wife of 'the Australian crime lord' - and she does have experience in 'image consulting'. What company? Vikki isn't nearly as impressed as Abby. 'Married to the mob', Genevieve's an expert on spinning public perception (of her family's image). Abby's take on 'female empowerment' has given her marketing ideas (which she's compelled to share). No no - Genevieve has no agenda (for a job at NE) - her ideas are a gift to them.
Jack scowls, puzzled - why didn't he know Kyle was in summer school? It's not a conspiracy, Diane thought he knew. Jack grabs Diane's phone - call him - - get my son on the phone - NOW.
Sharon horrifies Sam (with details of the aborted wedding). Adam's pissed because she was with HIM. Why DID Sam come back anyway? To help (as she would him). Sharon's only hope is Victor's promise to get her a better lawyer. She can't take the DA's deal (to testify against Adam) now - it'll just sound like sour grapes. Sharon's grateful that Sam's willing to help (after the way she treated him). He then goes to make a call.
Victor continues to scold Adam; for robbing Faith of her mother, TWICE. You'll pay for that son. You're really sick - have no conscience. Well, Victor has a plan too (but turns and walks out without elaborating).
Refusing to disturb Kyle (in class), Diane's sure he'll call Jack when he's good and ready. Stop overreacting. Yanking her arm, Jack physically stops Diane from leaving (as she tried to sneak his son out of town before). Diane scoffs at the accusation. Going to LA for the night, Jack will be back tomorrow night. 'Kyle had better be there', he warns (as Deacon witnesses).
When Abby admits her celebrity status is indeed restricted to the tabloids and internet, Genevieve wonders if she's thought about using the 'wannabe element' in the campaign. Abby wants what everyone wants - to be thought of more highly; prettier, happier, smarter etc. etc. BofN products will elevate anyone who uses them. How about this for a new slogan? Why go naked when you can go natural? Abby can totally sell that. With that flawless face, Genevieve thinks her quite captivating - like her own daughter. Vikki admits the ideas are intriguing (especially since they're free). Well, that was weird, she concludes after Genevieve leaves. They can't use Genevieve's ideas because she doesn't work at NE. Maybe she should, Abby's totally sold. Smart? Vikki finds Genevieve 'interesting'.
Back from seeing the DA, Sam reports he didn't want to hear 'it' (because he heard about the almost prison wedding). He won't believe anything I say, Sharon pouts. Adam covered every angle. 'Incredible' isn't a word Sam would use to describe Adam. Who keeps a baby from it's mother out of spite? Who does that? Adam does that (and is capable of much more). Sit tight - I'll be back, Sam dashes off again.
In his suite, Adam sets himself up as a suspect too - by leaving a threatening message for Diane; if you don't come through for me, everything I promised you will be dead in the water.
Serving Diane a drink, Deacon comments on her 'blow up' with Jack. Guess Victor's not the only 'high roller' she's pissed off. Diane's an equal opportunity provoker. Diane's over 'powerful men'; Victor, Jack, Tucker, Nick. She's had it with everyone in this town (then is encouraged - between 'us' - to confide she's 'gettin' out' - after she inflicts pain on the long list of people who've wronged her)
And what brings Genevieve to the park in this fine day? She was hoping to find someone to enjoy the fresh air with. Jack buys lemonade from a vendor. For all his technology, he's 'retro' when it comes to romance. Romance? Genevieve thought they were just havin' lemonade.
The pretty New York lawyer who Victor meets on the CL's patio, isn't so sure her being in GC is a coincidence. Call me Victor - call me Avery. Knowing his former daughter in law is innocent, Victor's equally sure the 'brilliant' Avery can win Sharon's appeal. His proposition? Drop all your cases and devote all your time to the appeal (for which she'll be paid two boatloads of cash). Not interested? Read the transcripts, Victor's sure they'll convince Avery (who's equally sure she won't change her mind).
Sam bangs on Adam's door. Oh - looky here - country doc come to give me a house call. Without a word, Sam shoves Adam inside - then slams the door behind him.
Diane declines another drink (needing a clear mind to take down GC's elite). She has nothing to lose - and her kid's safe. Who's at the top of the hit list? Deacon wonders - Victor? They then discuss him 'burying' Abby's taped confession. As she'd LOVE to leak that story, Diane's delighted to hear that Deacon retrieved the tape from the dumpster (with every dramatic word of the Naked Heiress's shocking confession).
Look at all the media who called in after Abby's announcement; the Times, The Chronicle - the International press and celebrity shows! You saved my career! Abby thanks her 'amazing' sister. I'm gonna be a super star! Too bad Victor, Ashley and Uncle Jack are gonna 'freak'.
Moseying over to a park bench, Jack asks Genevieve if she watches any daytime TV (then boasts that he's appearing on 'The Talk'). Yes, to push Jabot's new product line. Genevieve asks his opinion on this morning's news - that BofN just hired the Naked Heiress as their spokesmodel. No - Genevieve's not kidding. Jack doubts Victor would want his company used to draw attention to Abby's controversial alter ego. It DID get everyone's attention - BofN is all the talk. She then claims to have some 'fun ideas' for Jabot - as a gift.
Still huffing (and his fists still clenching) Sam leaves Adam's suite. Inside, a pummeled Adam struggles to the door. Hope it was as good for you as it was for me, he shouts up the hallway - Sharon's still in jail.
Thanks for the lemonade, Genevieve sure WILL be watching Jack on The Talk. As motivation, Jack invites her to dinner when he gets back. Now alone, Jack calls his assistant - wanting her to send a link to Abby's interview.
Vikki will be in touch re: Abby's photo shoots and publicity etc. Both are glad they'll be working together. Friendless, Abby thinks it cool that her sister believes in her. And Vikki thinks this project will be a good distraction for her ~hug~
Still at G-worm, Diane watches the clip on the camera Deacon retrieved from the dumpster (then pays him $100 for it). Go get em tiger, he says. It's gonna be a bloodbath, Diane grins.
What happened to your hand? Sharon asks - when Sam returns to the pen. It's nuthin', Sam stammers - then admits he saw Adam. Victor then arrives - to introduce Sharon to her new attorney. Sharon can't believe it - Ms Clark is famous. Avery's not sure she's taking the case yet (but is eager to hear more). Sharon doesn't think proving her innocence will be easy (thanks to Adam).
Tending to his bruises, Adam gets a call. Refusing to send more money, he warns the caller to stay under the radar - the last thing we need is someone recognizing you.
Next: Please welcome the stunning Lauren Fenmore and the colourful CEO of Jabot, Jack Abbott. Arms linked, Lauren and Jack jog out to enthusiastic applause ... What's going on here? Kay's puzzled by the camera's set up in Tucker's office (as he's joining The Talk via satellite. Hello Holly, Leah - pleasure to meet you both)
My Thoughts: Whatever happened to that once in a lifetime 'photo op' Diane used to frame Gingerman with ... Love how the lemonade vendor pulls out two already poured glasses of lemonade from his cart (while the pitcher sits out - melted ice watering it down no doubt) ... Who keeps a child from it's mother? The same kinda guy who beats up a blind guy? Does Sam even KNOW that Adam's legally blind? .. Why wouldn't Adam call his good friend Spencer - and have Sam charged with assault? The same cameras that captured Phyllis (dressed in a housekeeper's uniform) breaking into Sharon's suite would have captured Sam barging into Adam's suite (and a beaten Adam shouting down the hallway after his attacker left). Won't the mild mannered vet's police pals (and 11 year old BFF) be impressed with his behavior ... Oh good - another brilliant lawyer in town. You'd think Victor might throw a little business Rafe's way. He's motivated to screw Adam over (so to speak) - and it might make up somewhat for firing his Aunt Estella ... The only thing more boring than Jack and Lauren peddling cosmetics would be Tucker joining them by satellite ... Genevieve obviously didn't do a good job spinning her family's image (if Collin's a known crime lord). It hardly gives her 'experience in business' ... I'm sure all the great marketing ideas that flew into Genevieve's head sailed through one ear and out the other ... Once upon a time needing a special Braille computer, Adam's now using not one, but two regular laptops? ... Diane 'misses' Kyle? The kid who's always away on sleepovers anyway has only been gone ONE day ... Sharon might want to be a bit more observant in the State pen - I doubt it's a place you wanna be snuck up on from behind (as Victor somehow managed). Sharon's so busy feeling sorry for herself that she didn't even hear the cell bars clang open? What happened to the visiting room with the plexiglas divider and phone? And I guess the 'no contact' rule doesn't apply to TGVN ... Why (and for how long) is Sharon sequestered in her roomy (and private) cell for one? The bars are spaced so far apart, I bet she could turn sideways and slip right through them ... The attention starved Abby invites Genevieve to be a guest on the Naked Heiress - based ONLY on her ability to kiss ass? Has Kent been updated on Abby's new project? ... Why is it 'no secret' that Genevieve's sticking around? Did she hold a press conference to notify the whole town of her plans? Does anybody care? .... Diane doesn't seem to mind men abusing her. She didn't press charges against Victor (for shoving her out of an ambulance) - and today, she doesn't object when Jack all but yanks her arm out of it's socket ... If Jack's so determined to speak to Kyle, why would he settle for tomorrow night? Couldn't he call Kyle from LA tonight? Maybe tell him to watch the show? ... Nice public scene - Jack's just set himself up as a prime suspect in Diane's murder .... Guess the DA's not too busy - or did he drop everything to meet with the walk-in out of town vet ... 'Dead in the water' Adam? His message will be especially incriminating - if Diane's body's found floating in the lake (her overblown lips won't allow her body to sink). Diane's 'tied up' for the day (another clue)? ... If Abby wants to be seen as classier, more sophisticated - perhaps she should stop disrobing in public ... The guy paid to 'lift' the camera (containing Abby's confession) was stupid enough to toss the pricey camera (and priceless video) in the dumpster behind G-worm? And why would Deacon sell it to Diane for a measly $100? Surely Victor would pay much more to re-bury it ... Jack's paying for Kyle's education? Isn't that his obligation as a father? There's a fee to attend Walnut Grove? ... How could Abby's 'career' have been 'tanking forever'? Her show hadn't even aired one episode. And if she's a 'has been', why does the interviewer introduce her as a 'hot celeb'? And does Abby really think peddling cosmetics (manufactured by Daddy's company no less) will make her a 'superstar'? If she's lucky she'll outsell the Shamwow/Slap Chop guy. Hard to believe the 'Internation press' were aware (or cared) about Abby's announcement - while her own family had no clue. Victor still hasn't been notified - yet Abby's announcing the 'epic gig' as a done deal? ... What? Abby has no friends? Who were all those leeches she bought drinks for at G-worm?
