Looking peaceful (except for her bloodied head), Diane gently floats in the babbling brook.
In his suite, a freshly showered Adam quickly scans the hallway - then tackles his muddy shoes.
At Tucker's, neither of the newlyweds slept well - both thinking about the situation with Diane (ruining their future). She won't get away with it, they agree. Tucker claims the leaf Ashley plucks from his hair came from the low hanging tree in front of CL's. Checking Ashley's dead watch, Tucker finds that it has water in it. Yeah - guess Ashley wore it in the shower.
Abby awakens on the floor. Hungover and nervous, she checks her reflection in the mirror - her eyes widening and darting, she brushes dirt off her pants.
Clothes and the empty ice cream container strewn about the floor, Nick and Phyllis are naked beneath the blanket on the sofa at RS. Too early to call the nanny, Nick has a coupla ideas on what to do. Hey what's this? Nick has a scratch on his neck.
At the club, Jack's on the phone with Paul - ranting about Diane shipping Kyle off to somewhere in Switzerland. Believe me - we won't get anything more out of Diane, he asks Paul to find his son.
A nervous looking Vikki arrives at the police station.
Victor's on the jet - calling the pilot; what's the delay? Let's just take off. Immediately the engines can be heard firing up.
On the riverbank, in full fisherman costume, Murphy spots Diane immediately - and removes his hat.
Putting his hip waders to good use, Murphy wades in to pull Diane onto the river bank - then calls 911to report Diane's death.
The scratch is 'nuthin' - Nick had to retrieve Summer's ball from the bushes. Or maybe Phyllis 'did it' (she checks her fingernails). If she DID, she can make it better - with a ~kiss~
Hey Sis, Adam skips down the club's staircase to greet Abby (noticing she's still in yesterday's outfit). Assuming SHE met a new friend last night, he notes Abby's hypocrisy. Go away, Abby snarls as she marches through the revolving door.
In the dining room, Kay meets with Jack (who looks like hell - due to a rough night). First order of business? The validity of Tucker and Ashley's marriage. Excusing himself, Jack hurries over to the bar (and Adam) - which gives Kay time to take Murphy's call. Dear God in heaven, what's Diane done now? She's dead.
Kay interrupts Jack (who better not find out Adam's involved in Kyle leaving) - with bad news; Diane's dead. Dead?! Murphy came across her body while fishing. What was the cause of death? Adam wonders. Jack can't believe this.
Do you need help? an officer asks Vikki as she's about to leave. I dunno, Vikki stammers - maybe coming here was a mistake.
Tidying up, Nick and Phyllis agree that having a secret rendezvous (in a place soon to be filled with reporters) isn't a great idea. Journalists are nosey. As Nick goes to get rid of the 'evidence', Phyllis calls her salon (making her 'emergency' manicure sound like life and death).
Hearing the jet engines shut down, Victor calls the pilot again; what the hell's the problem? Who gave that order? Apparently the cops who now march onboard to arrest him (for breaking the terms of his bail). Though insisting there's no truth to Diane's accusations, Victor doesn't resist the handcuffs.
Abby drops by Tucker and Ashley's (who also notice she's in yesterday's clothes). Were you drinking? Assuring she's OK, Abby claims she was brainstorming til 4 am. As Tucker fetches aspirin, Ashley gets all emotional - so sorry Diane's putting her through this. Abby knows it's her own fault (and that her Mom did all she could to protect her). That's not gonna happen, Ashley says with confidence (when Tucker talks about Diane leaking the taped confession). She then gets a call from Jack - who drops the bomb. Abby and Tucker are stunned to hear that Diane's dead. Yes, like dead - dead (found in the park - face down in a stream). Guess she won't be telling anyone about my taped confession after all, Abby looks as guilty as Tucker and Ashley.
Returning to his suite, a guilty looking Adam puts his dirty shoes in a plastic bag.
At the police station, Vikki assumes Jack's there because of Billy (then is updated on Diane's death - and Kyle's unknown whereabouts in Switzerland). He must be found (in case he hears about his Mom's death on the news). When Billy strolls out, Jack can't take credit for bailing him out (cuing Vikki to step forward).
The park now taped off as a crime scene, the same detective who hounded Ashley now questions Murphy. I'm no 'looky loo dammit' Kay looks up at an officer. Granted access, Kay ducks under the yellow tape to join Murphy (who wishes he'd got there in time to help Diane). As Murphy heads off with a SCI tech (for shoe imprints), Kay realizes that murder's suspected.
Back at the station, Billy isn't impressed that Vikki's there. And when Jack can't give him a ride to his car, she offers. If Jack's not there to bail him out - or give him a ride, Billy wonders why he's there. Vikki will explain - in the car.
At RS, Nick and Phyllis call their respective nannies. An employee then arrives to stun them with the news of Diane's death.
Knowing the DA can't provide details on Diane's death, Jack just wants to find the son they shared. Walsh will contact the detective at the scene. Seeing Victor in handcuffs, Jack assumes he killed 'her'. Killed who? Victor has no idea what Jack's talking about.
Victor's handcuffs removed, he's told of Diane's death. He's there on an unrelated matter - he had nothing to do with it. Victor also tells Jack that he wasn't aware that Diane had shipped Kyle off to Switzerland.
Oh come ON - Abby's 'dying here'. Alas, Ashley can't find anything online (about Diane's death). Tucker's right - the media will go crazy over this. Knowing Diane made copies of the tape, Ashley wants to strategize. I've gotta go! Abby clip clops out (leaving Tucker to deal with it - he'd do anything for his 'beauty'). Now where did Diane hide that video?? Ashley wonders.
Adam breaks into Diane's suite. Wearing gloves, he searches around (failing to notice the extra pillows; or the embroidered messages)
The detective thanks the Murphy's for their assistance - but can't tell them anything (which annoys Kay immensely). The back of her head was bashed in, Murphy wonders who could have done something like that.
Concluding his search, Adam checks the hallway and slips out - seconds before the manager opens the door for an officer. Peeking his head around the corner, Adam looks frustrated.
At the GCAC, Billy's glad he was locked up in the drunk tank (his alibi). Not sympathetic, Billy does feel bad for Kyle (and assumes that's why Jack's such a mess). He declines Vikki's request to chat over coffee (wishing she'd have taken him up on the offer last night). It's best they just go their separate ways. OK - go - good bye, Vikki's left alone to pout.
What the hell is that woman thinking!? Victor doesn't approve of Kyle being sent to Switzerland (and offers Jack any help he can provide). The DA joins them to announce that Victor's bail's been revoked - he'll spend the night in jail. That ain't gonna happen, Victor seems confident.
Arriving at the club, Ashley hisses at Abby. Knowing she's after the confession tape, SHE and TUCKER will handle it. Go! After Abby huffs off, Ashley and Tucker head upstairs. And as Abby asks the bartender who she was talking to last night (admitting she blacked out), Ashley and Tucker debate outside Diane's suite. Flashing back to Diane boasting that she slept with Tucker, Ashley gives him the evil eye (knowing 'Diane didn't lie about 'everything')
Back at RS, Phyllis and Nick have the inside track on this one (ensuring millions of hits on her blog). But they disappoint their excited employee - by announcing that they're holding off on the story (and may not cover it at all). Alone again with Nick, Phyllis feels Diane had this coming. Don't look at me like that. Phyllis does NOT want to hear about Diane's other side. That manipulative bitch got EXACTLY what she deserved.
Next; Hand on her hip, Kay announces that she's going to challenge the validity of Tucker's marriage - on the grounds that he's not legally competent (needless to say, Tucker and Ashley don't look thrilled) .... Phyllis confronts Adam - every woman who gets hooked up with you gets in a lot of trouble - or dies ... Jill asks Nina what's wrong. It's Chance, a troubled Nina replies.
My Thoughts; Another fabulous show. Diane makes a really good corpse. Kudos to the make up department ... Really? Billy's blaming VIKKI for him ending up in the 'drunk tank'? ... Poor Jack - he has no 'leads' as to Kyle's whereabouts. But why hire Paul? Isn't HE already busy searching for someone elses son; Tucker's? Jumping ahead a bit; couldn't Jack easily challenge Victor's custody of Kyle (based on Diane registering him under a fake name? Committing passport fraud etc.) I'd assume a Judge would have sufficient grounds to question Diane's fitness to decide guardianship. And surely Kyle himself will choose to live with his Dad over 'Mr Newman' .... Love how Jack barges through the mini saloon doors at the station (aren't visitors to the station supposed to stay on the OTHER side of the counter?) Oh great - everyone's acting like a suspect ... All that tossing and turning didn't dislodge the leaf from Tucker's hair overnight? The crinkling noise in his ear wasn't annoying? ... WTH was Murphy hoping to catch today? minnows? I doubt there's any large mouth bass or rainbow trout in that shallow river. Serious anglers would never fish so close to a bridge that's often more densely populated than Grand Central Station .... Tucker's small space is really well equipped - outside a medical facility, who dispenses Aspirin in a little paper cup? ...... Ashley's offer to be oncall 24/7 (whenever a drunken Abby's 'had one too many') and needs a ride home is just enabling her grown daughter's destructive behavior (whether she's a full blown alcohol or not, Abby should be responsible for getting HERSELF home). With 50 million in petty cash, Abby could easily have a limo chauffeuring her around town ... How considerate - Nick and Phyllis not wanting to awaken their nannies. But why are they (and the kids) still in bed - when everyone else in town is already up and well into their day? ... OMG - you've got a scratch! Phyllis makes it sound like Nick's gonna code blue if he doesn't get stitched up. Isn't it possible that he incurred the injury during their desk romp? Maybe from a pencil or a paperclip or sumthin'? ... What? RS's not gonna cover Diane's murder? What sense does THAT make? Especially when she's already working on a related article ... Why would Kay break the news to Jack - with Adam standing right beside him?? .... Sent off to 'get rid' of the 'evidence', Nick takes the empty pastry box and the blanket. Is he really throwing that blanket out? (kinda wasteful - since it's still got the tags on it) .... Kinda weird that the blind guy notices that Abby's in the same outfit as last night. You'd think that'd be enough to send Abby home to change. Her purse is certainly big enough to hold a fresh outfit ... OK - so Friday's cop managed to immediately recognize Nikki Newman from a photo of the BACK OF HER HEAD - but today's dim witted cop didn't recognize Katherine Chancellor? (her hissy fit was comical - she all but stomped her little feet and held her breath. 'Looky loo' indeed!) And why does Kay have to 'know what we're dealing with'? Finding Diane's body would hardly traumatize war vet Murphy (hers isn't even the first body he's found while fishing) ... I guess Adam's forgotten about (or isn't aware of) the cameras mounted in the club's hallway (the ones that captured Phyllis, in uniform, breaking into Sharon's suite). The video should clearly show the gloved Adam looking around ever so suspiciously - then breaking in (cause that's no problem for a legally blind guy). He even managed to knock over one of the pillows ...
