What!? You think you can claim MY son!? Victor then tells Jack to read the damn paperwork - later, they'll discuss 'visitation'. You will NEVER take MY son! a furious Jack rips the papers. He's already mine, Victor firmly but calmly responds.

At the GCAC's bar, Ashley calls Nick - updating that Billy's left the country. she thinks Vikki will need him. No - Abby doesn't know. No offence - but your brother's an ass. The reason Nick hasn't been able to reach Ashley - is because she misplaced her phone (flashback to her arguing with Diane). No - she didn't get Nick's call the other night - was it important?

Why's Kay REALLY at Tucker's? To rub his nose in the fact that she stole his company (which he'll damn well get back)? Knowing Tucker's been questioned, Kay wonders what the police think he's done?

Just tell me what the message was, Ashley prods. Nick flashes back - threatening to kill Diane (as his phone, on the ground, calls Ashley's). Learning that Ashley hasn't deleted her messages, Nick suddenly has to go. Hanging up, a puzzled Ashley clip clops out.

Joining Nick at RS, Phyllis immediately brings up Malloy's investigation (which should no longer include them - since neither answered Diane's text). Never mind covering the murder - RS's next issue will be light n fluffy. Making an abrupt exit, Nick's already out the door as Phyllis murmurs 'ok - bye'.

Ronan sends the bagged ring off to forensics - and hey - check on the DNA results on this fingernail (of which he's left to gaze at a photo of).

Oh look - close up of Phyllis' - typing away. 'Editorial', she answers the phone - then looks nervous when Ronan states that he has more questions for her.

I'm Kyle's father. And I'm his guardian - per his mother's wishes. Victor won't insist on taking him tonight - but eventually Kyle will be where he belongs. That boy's Jack's flesh and blood; with his name - his genes (and he's sure the court will agree). Hardly - Jack's barely seen the boy he wasn't involved in conceiving. And how will Jack does he plan to take care of Kyle - in a cell (once convicted of his mother's murder)?

Pointing out that 'Mrs Chancellor's' the one who's history includes suspected murder, Tucker claims that if McCall Unlimited's image has taken a hit, it occurred the day SHE took over. Now, get the hell out of my house!

Armed with a flashlight, Ashley searches the ground at the scene of the crime. Hoping to find her lost phone, she gasps when someone shines a flashlight at her.

Well - look who's here. Phyllis told Ronan everything - perhaps he's there to give her an exclusive? Alas, RS isn't covering the murder (so Ronan won't get to see his handsome face on the cover). Placing a photo in front of Phyllis, Ronan explains that the fingernail is fake - acrylic. But you already knew that didn't you. Phyllis suggests he talk to Jill - she knows fingernails - Phyllis knows computers. We both know this is yours. Now, how did it get there? Between you and me now - or - between Phyllis and a grand jury later.

Nick and Ashley both wonder what the other's doing at the park. Ashley won't answer any questions until Nick explains himself.

The fingernail could have been there for months, years. Playing along, a confident Phyllis assumes he got nothing from a DNA test - Ronan's 'fishing'. He takes her hand - so, she got a manicure the day BEFORE her all nighter with Nick? Ronan then shakes Phyllis' confidence - a sworn statement (by the woman who did her nails; which were in VERY bad shape) states it was done the day AFTER Diane's murder. Why did she lie? Phyllis shaved her legs this morning - wanna talk to my razor? Knowing Phyllis' statement's full of lies, Ronan's sure she was at the park (to bash Diane's head in).

Tucker lambastes Kay for using his living will to steal (not protect) his company. Alright - her pal Ronan was there. Ronan? Yup - he's another dog with a bone. Diane sent a bunch of text messages - many of Kay's nearest and dearest likely received em too. Tucker was there all night (as verified by Ashley). Now get out. And as Kay's bellowing that it better not come back to harm the company ... Tucker slams the door - then frantically itches the rash on his arm.

YOU'RE the one Diane had arrested, Jack reminds - the one who tried to skip town (to get away with murder - again) - who's business Diane 'tanked'. Victor points the finger at Jack (the one who caused a scene at G-worm - furious that Diane sent Kyle away). Dad, Kyle interrupts - what's going on?

As Ronan continues to accuse her, Phyllis now claims she ruined her nail potting flowers. Ronan chuckles - knowing she called the salon in a panic at 8 am, was she potting flowers at 7? Slipping it in that he fled town with his new liver, Phyllis says Ronan better have a warrant if he comes by the penthouse. Putting the photo away, Ronan's bumped Phyllis up a coupla notches on his suspect list (and she can quote him on that). Now alone, a nervous Phyllis dials Nick - pick up - pick up!

Claiming he saw Ashley's car, Nick's just there to help her find her phone (suspecting she lost it the night Diane was killed). Ashley suspects he's more worried about the message he left on it. Deciding the crime scene isn't the best place to chat, they decide to go for coffee. Careful, Ashley warns - Parks n Rec hasn't cleaned up all the poisonous sumac yet.

Dabbing Kaopectate on his arm, Tucker leaves Ashley a message (that Ronan was back - and told that they spent the evening together). Wrapping his arm, Tucker looks like he bears the weight of the world on his shoulders.

Just business talk son, Victor tells Kyle to get some rest (and call if he needs anything). Victor was just leaving, Jack effectively ends his visit. Nice to see you again, Victor mumbles his way out - leaving Kyle to ask Jack for details on his Mom's death.

Summoning Mike to the club, Victor relays his visit with Jack. Mike doesn't seem to agree that Kyle 'belongs' with him. The kid just lost his mother; the one constant in his life - why get the courts involved? Victor's just respecting Diane's wishes - that's all.

Meanwhile, Jack assures Kyle that he and Victor were discussing 'a whole lotta nothing'. Who'd want to hurt her? Kyle bleats. Jack warns that he'll see things online - kids at school will talk. A lot of people are being questioned, Jack explains - people you know and love. You're one of them? The cops think you killed Mom???

As Ronan jots a few words beneath Phyllis' photo on the whiteboard - he gets a visit from Kay (grumbling about him having the audacity to come back - after what he did).

On the CL's patio, Nick admits he was at the park the night Diane was killed. As he was 'having it out' with her, Nick noticed his phone had accidentally called Ashley's. There's probably some 'pretty funky stuff' on there. In turn, Ashley reports a similar altercation with Diane. What if the police know (or listened to the message)? This is just between you and me, Nick reassures. On cue, Phyllis appears - is THIS why Nick left so quickly?

Back at the station, Kay has other victim's to discuss - IE Nina. Ronan doesn't feel the need to kiss Kay's ring. Well, SHE feels the need for an explanation. Kay then updates that Chance re-enlisted. He's a good man. And you're a snake. A snake with a job to do. No apologies or explanations forthcoming, Kay can't stand the sight of Ronan.

Good to see you both, Ashley leaves Phyllis to report that Ronan was all up 'in her face' (about a found fingernail). He's playing games - looking for something that sticks, Nick reassures. Inside, Tucker and Ashley exchange an awkward 'hi'.

I'm not going anywhere, Jack assures that he's not being arrested. And nothing or no one will take Kyle from HIM. There's gonna be bad things written about Mom, he warns. Kyle hopes whomever killed his Mom will be arrested. Yes - they will ~hug~

Back at the club, Mike dissuades Victor from going to war with Jack (NOT the best thing for Kyle). Victor reminds that Diane always wanted him to be the father - to provide stability; a father Kyle can count on. Jack may have been 'consistent' - but he can't be a father behind bars. Jack had motive to murder Diane. He's not the only one, Mike points out.

His wrist? Carpal tunnel, Tucker lies - then relays Kay's visit. She wants more ammo (to keep his company). Did she get it? No - we were together that night. Agreeing, Ashley wants Kay to back the hell off. But no, she's 'can't' come home. Please don't ask again, Ashley leaves Tucker to pout.

The bagged fingernail is marked 'no DNA' - fake nail - real liar. Ronan's sure there MUST be a way to link it to Phyllis.

Nick plans to call the DA's office - to tell him to back off. It's worth a shot. Phyllis doesn't need protecting (as she did nothing wrong). But if Ronan thinks she was out that night, it makes them both liars (with no alibi). Appreciating the heads up, he bids Phyllis 'good night'. Now alone, Nick gets a call. It's his voice; I'll kill you - do you hear me? I'll kill you. Inside, Deacon watches Phyllis exit. Honey - I saw what you did.

Jack offers to tuck Kyle in - sit in the chair at his bedside til he falls asleep. You're not alone. It'll get better. No - it won't, Kyle sulks off to bed. Following, Jack pauses at the foot of the stairs to look depressed.

Mike will be in touch - re: Kyle - and anything his contact passes along regarding Diane's case. On his way out, Victor couldn't look more suspicious - as he reads the newspaper headline (the police expect forensic testing to yield results in Diane's murder). Flashback to Victor standing on the edge of the river bank - looking down at the floating Diane.

Next: Vikki confronts Chloe - Billy left because you took Delia away from him. Yeah - and he tanked his life because YOU broke his heart ... Deacon approaches Phyllis in the park - Diane pissed off so many people. I'm tryin' to figure out if you're one of em .. At the station, Mike and Adam look on - as Victor hands Ronan the bagged watch - you might be able to lift Adam's prints off it - and by dinner time, he could be in jail.

My Thoughts: Too bad Kyle didn't overhear the accusations Mr Newman was hurling at his Dad. You think he would (being a nosey kid - and that Victor was 'loud') ... Odd that neither Jill, Chloe or Nina bothered to inform Kay that Ronan's back in town (since they're all living together) .... Phyllis requires dinner and drinks before she'd allow Ronan to hold her hand? She doesn't require anything of Nick (other than a smoldering look - and mention of Sharon's name) .... Knowing that murderers often return to the scene of their crime, why isn't there any cops posted at the park? ... Fake or not, surely there's DNA that'll connect the nail to Phyllis (she likely had it in her nose or sumthin') .. Wonder how much Ashley paid for that barely touched glass of wine she left behind. There's starving kids in Africa (and thirsty wino's in the alley) who'd appreciate it .... What kind of journalists ignore a murder they've got front row seats to? Phyllis wrote about Diane when she did nothing but play mattress - ignoring the story to print a 'light n fluffy' issue will only make her and Nick look even more guilty. Funny that has the nerve to answer the phone 'editorial'. Wonder what department the desk next to it is (the one she and Nick had sex on) .... Phyllis shaves her legs? I pegged her for a wax or electrolysis gal ... Kudos to Mike - for speaking out against TGVN (though I'm sure when push comes to shove, he'll put his opinions aside to carry out Victor's orders). NOW Victor and Jack are concerned about respecting Diane's wishes ... Funny to hear Victor say that Kyle was conceived against Jack's wishes (since Abby was conceived the same way) .... LOL @ the cop hastily covering the whiteboard when Kay meanders into the station ... Kyle's 'almost a man'? He's 11 for cryin' out loud. Does an almost man need to be 'tucked in'? ... Where exactly do visitors to the police station get their 'visitor' tags? There's no reception desk or officer posted in the hallway ... Having been told that Billy's left the country (and that Vikki will 'need him bad') - Nick sure isn't in much of a hurry to see how his sister's doing.
