Damn cops, Adam mutters as he starts the task of tidying his ransacked suite - only to notice that his Harvard ring is missing; presumably taken by Ronan.

The cover's lowered over the whiteboard just in time for Victor and Mike's arrival. The ring being tested (against the impression on Diane's arm), Ronan wants Adam arrested today. Looking down his nose, grumbling about being summoned, Victor's brought his lawyer along (to read the paperwork he drew up). Ronan questions why a perfectly healthy Diane would bequeath her son to Victor (the ex she hated). What's your point? Mike claims they 'formed a bond' (then doesn't look to happy when Victor talks about 'murderous rage' coming on suddenly).

On the CL's patio, Abby hands her cell phone over to Vikki - griping about the lame good bye text Billy sent everyone. Not everyone - Vikki didn't get one. Unaware that the campaign's been canceled, Abby's eager to make plans. And as Vikki goes inside to order 'goodies', Abby's left to mutter; Billy, you're such an ass.

Inside CL's, Chloe complains that Billy's too busy pouting (or drinking) to call his daughter. Kevin reminds of the new rule - no talk of Billy. And as Chloe continues to break rule #1, Vikki passes by to comment that Delia might get a text from Asia (like Abby and Ashley got). Billy left the country? Chloe's unimpressed.

Wheeling Lucy's stroller through the park, Phyllis bumps into Deacon (who wastes no time mentioning the murder case). Don't use words like that in front of a baby, Phyllis scolds. Diane pissed off so many people. Deacon has to wonder if she's one of them.

Ronan thinks Diane whisking Kyle out of the country a 'fantastic' motive (for Victor to murder her). Forget these ludicrous hypothesis - find the real murderer, Victor growls. Enter Adam - to wonder why Ronan took his class ring. He's 'shivering with fear' (when Victor shows off his bagged watch). Diane claimed Adam used it to frame him. Was the watch reported before or after you killed her - Dad? Boasting that he only touched the watch 'minimally', Victor's sure Adam's prints are on it (and that he'll be arrested by dinner time).

Joining Abby on the patio, Daniel congratulates her (on BofN) - nice to see she's doing well after rehab. Too bad Vikki's not. Thanks to Daniel's mother (for taking Lucy), Billy took off to Hong Kong. He and Vikki can't possibly work things out.

Inside, Chloe and Vikki blame one another for Billy leaving. Vikki for booting him out (for getting her a baby) - Chloe for taking Delia from him. Hey - Kevin referees - maybe he took off because he loves both Delia and Vikki. Maybe he'll be back once he stops feeling they'd both be better off without him. After Vikki marches off, Kevin scolds Chloe for overreacting (which doesn't go well). Chloe's upset because her daughter wants to know when her father's coming back.

On the patio, Daniel tells Vikki he's sorry - the mother he barely talks to these days is the gift that keeps on giving.

Taking a seat on the park bench beside Phyllis, Deacon detects that he makes her uncomfortable (which she didn't seem in the alley behind G-worm). Phyllis would rather see him face down in the stream. Phyllis is surprised to hear he and Diane had 'enlightening' conversations (as he's neither rich nor smart - the way Diane liked em). Sauntering off, Deacon leaves Phyllis wondering what secrets he's holding (for now).

Pretty picture - Daniel comments as he takes the seat Deacon vacated - too bad it comes at Vikki and Billy's expense. Save it - Billy taking off just proves he's unfit. How? He wouldn't have left if they still had Lucy. Never mind trying to make Phyllis feel bad - someone already beat him to it.

Cutting Vikki off, Abby raves about how excited she is (about the BofN campaign). Dad put a hold on the campaign, Vikki rains on her parade - because of Tucker's accident. Abby made the confession video to save Mom. Diane was blackmailing her with it. How did Diane get her hands on it anyway? Enter Deacon on cue. Ignoring the frosty welcome, he stoops down to tell Abby how much he liked seeing her 'bare all' at G-worm (which Abby realizes is a hint). Deacon saw her making the confession - oh God - he knows everything. Diane made a copy!

Bagged watch in hand, Ronan's interested in WHEN Diane allegedly told Victor about the plan to frame him. Nice try, Mike leads his client out. But before Mike can hustle him out, Victor announces that Diane gave it to him at the ranch (the night before her death). Why text him to meet at the park then? To remain the illusion that she was onboard with Adam's plan, Victor repeats that he did NOT meet Diane at the park. As Ronan poses more questions, Mike barks on behalf of his client. Ronan WILL get to the bottom of it - and Victor will be 'dealt with accordingly'. You're welcome, a cocky Victor quips in parting. You just let the perp walk out, Adam's scolds Ronan (who says his daddy might be right - you COULD be in handcuffs before supper).

Lingering at the station for no apparent reason, a gum chewing Adam challenges Ronan to arrest him (knowing he doesn't have enough proof). Ronan shows him the photo - of Diane's arm (bearing an impression of a Harvard ring). If you fall for that, you're worse than stupid, Adam claims he's being set up. You're a sucker.

Abby knows Diane didn't have the key on her when she died (because she'd be in jail right now). Maybe the police haven't figured out what the key's for, Vikki suggests (and wonders who else knows). Kent - but Dad too care of that. And the DA. If this video goes public .... Both clam up - as a chuckling Deacon saunters back out the patio doors. Deacon would use this to expose or blackmail us. Abby's in a state of panic - but Vikki promises she won't let anything happen to Abby.

Now at the mausoleum, Kevin holds a box overnighted from Hong Kong. Chloe thinks it lazy and wrong (that Billy sent a bracelet - but no note). Kevin thinks it shows Billy cares. It won't be a big deal unless Chloe makes it one. The bracelet's beautiful, Chloe admits - but Delia shouldn't have to deal with her father running off. When Ester brings Delia home, Kevin goes out to the backyard - leaving Chloe to give Delia the gift - Daddy will call soon, she assures - he loves you so much. Daddy hadda go away for a while - like Chance.

Great job honey, Ester praises. This could be the last gift she gets from her father, Chloe's so pissed off - they all leave. Kevin's still here - Ester points out - or is Chloe addicted to fireworks and drama? Chloe loves Kevin - is lucky to have him. And when Kevin comes in, an emotional Chloe puzzles him with a wordless hug.

We're a 'well oiled baby machine', Phyllis appreciates Daniel helping her soothe Lucy He's NOT playing Daddy - just helpin' out. Phyllis denies she's 'wound up' - it's the Diane thing. She won't let her murder effect Daniel, Lucy or Summer. Disowned or not, she'll always protect him. Asking Daniel to watch Lucy, Phyllis needs a second alone.

Summoned to the ranch, Abby understands why Victor 'tabled' her BofN campaign. He wants her to come work at BofN - as more than a pretty face - she's to learn the business - for a few months. Abby fears she'll be looking over her shoulder for YEARS. Victor declares Diane an unreasonable woman - he's not surprised she 'met the fate' she did.

Creeping onto the bridge, Phyllis startles a very suspicious and nervous Vikki.

Wanting Abby to hold off until Thanksgiving, Victor thinks Abby's freedom more important than her being BofN's spokesperson. He then welcomes Mike in. His contacts reveal Adam may be arrested. Victor thinks Diane's arrogance is what got her killed. Abby nervous eavesdrops - as Mike explains that the police are following up on other leads. IE - the poisonous sumac - and a key found in Diane's throat.

As Phyllis questions Vikki, Deacon appears - to wonder what they're doing at the crime scene. Thinking she saw a rabid skunk, Vikki scurries off to call pest control. Exchanging some nasty words, Phyllis leaves Deacon to lean over the bridge - so much for Diane teaching GC a lesson.

Ronan learned all about guys like Adam (pretending to be the smartest guy in the room - usually to compensate for some other shortcoming). Their need for attention always gets them caught. Telling Adam to stay put, Ronan comes back to talk about the chip on his Harvard ring - that didn't show up on the impression on Diane's arm. Sometimes being the smartest guy in the room - just means - you're the smartest guy in the room, a cocky Adam concludes.

Kevin has to wonder if Chloe'd be as upset if HE left GC. But he never would - that's why Chloe's with him; her best friend. Kevin thinks Chloe's hot - practically panting - over BILLY. It's obvious she still has a thing for guys who leave. That's not me - and we're not US, Kevin unhappily concludes.

Chloe and Kevin continue to butt heads. She IS putting an effort in. No - she's making herself miserable over some other guy. Kevin won't be a jackass - or give Chloe the drama she gets off on. Maybe her Mr Right's in Asia - or Afghanistan - or at the police station. But he's NOT me, Kevin stomps out.

As Mike questions Victor about the mysterious key, Abby says her good bye's. That leaves Victor and Mike to discuss the obnoxious Ronan. With him focused on Adam, Victor's safe (for the time being).

Sorry you don't get to see your Dad - but he loves you, Daniel coos to Lucy (then is hurried off by a nervous Phyllis). I saw what you did, Deacon comes along to sing song - then leave her to look even more worried.

Once again meeting on the patio, Abby frets to Vikki - they found the key - IN Diane's THROAT. They'll find out - and my life will crash and burn. It won't happen, Vikki reassures - IF they find what the key goes to before the cops do.

Adam taunts Ronan - really heartbroken that his evidence didn't pan out. Still at the top of the list, Adam's told not to leave town. A detective then brings Ronan papers and info - Vikki and Phyllis Newman were both at the crime scene - so was Deacon Sharp. The generic key opens everything from a letter box to a suitcase. It was a message - whatever it opens might be worth killing for. We gotta find out WHAT - yesterday.

My Thoughts: Correction; astute readers noticed that Tucker was slathering on calomine lotion - not kaopectate .... Abby excuses herself - to got to the 'ladies room'. Who knew the ranch has his and hers bathrooms? .... Victor has the nerve to say Diane was 'arrogant' (after he's just finished asking the lead Detective/FBI agent - if he feels 'tough')? ... Oh poor Abby - she's 'out of a job' (which is something new?) Unemployment isn't that distressing for someone with 500 million in the bank (and another trust fund - and a mansion) ... How exactly does Phyllis think Diane's death could effect Daniel??? ... Why is Adam so confident he's the smartest guy in the room. Isn't above average intelligence required in an FBI agent? Nice to see Phyllis spending some time with Lucy (though I thought she told Nick she now found the park 'unsettling') ... It'll take Adam 'all day' to clean this room up? LOL. One man's mess - one tiny room (that's visited by housekeeping every day)? His dirty clothes, linens and towels are sent out for laundering. Adam wouldn't last a minute in my house .... 'Daniel's so pleased to see Abby doing well 'after rehab'? He makes it sound like she was a resident for 30 days - receiving in depth counseling and addressing her issues (doesn't he know she was there for less than 24 hours?) ... Chloe has no right to be angry that Billy left GC (or to be upset that her daughter wants to know when her Daddy's coming back). What difference does it make where Billy is - if Delia's not allowed to see him? Chloe wouldn't even allow the supervised visits Billy begged for. Explain THAT to your daughter .... WTH is on Daniel's left cheek It looks like a welt that's oozing puss or sumthin (poisonous sumac?) ... Hmm - who else would have a Harvard ring (without a chip in it). Skye? Didn't Jack attend Harvard? ... Since when did Kevin aka the Silver Chipmunk become the most dependable bachelor in town? How would Chloe like it if Kevin talked about nothing but Jana - or spray tan girl? She's also oversimplifying things - Vikki didn't break Billy's heart because he gave her a baby. She blamed him for the heartbreak of losing the baby he illegally bought - big difference.
