Looking for Kevin (at CL's), Chloe gets attitude from Abby (who suggests she drove him out of town - like Billy).
The words 'poison sumac' have been added to the board - but it's Harvard ring' that Ronan circles. This case is driving him crazy - time to go for coffee.
At RS, Nick gets another call (his threat to kill Diane). Who is this? What the hell do you want? Phyllis catches him making a 'we've got a problem - must talk' call. What's that about? she asks.
Tending again to his arm rash, Tucker leaves Ashley a groveling message. He'll do anything to make this up to her. She's the one and only thing that matters to him. I love you ~click~
Kyle off with a friend, Jack's summoned to Kay's - and is horrified to hear she's selling Jabot - to CI. While she's still in charge of McCall, this is her chance to get the company back. She's confiding in Jack - because he's done such a great job (and this way Tucker, when back in control, can't give Jack's job to Ashley). Oh look - it's Ashley, with a business proposition. She won't fight the annulment - if Kay gives Tucker back his company; Jabot included.
Chloe reacts with sarcasm - yes, SHE'S the one who poured booze down Billy's throat. Accused of taking everything away from Billy, Chloe insists she's putting her daughter first (a foreign concept to Abby) - and she's not about to take a lecture from a little girl who takes her clothes off for attention. Getting a call from Tucker, Abby has to go (the best news Chloe's heard all day). marching out, a nervous Abby exchanges a stare with a suspicious Ronan.
Is this a trick? Why is Ashley willing to give up her marriage? Feeling Tucker deserves his company, Ashley's merely taking herself out of the equation. She's irked - they BOTH know what it's like to have a company they love ripped away from them. Only this is worse - John and Philip started Jabot and CI - while Tucker built his from the ground up. Regardless, Kay will manage McCall until Tucker's fit to take over (whether they're married or not).
A frantic Chloe runs into CL's - call the cops - someone broke into her car and stole everything. No need - Ta DA! The cops are here, Ronan steps forward.
Reminding Ronan that Kevin doesn't want him there, Chloe needs a real cop - not a liver stealer. As luck would have it, Ronan brought along 'Rona' - who immediately gets on the job. It's also lucky Kevin's NOT there (as he'd have Ronan 'eating pavement'). Giving Chloe a withering glare, Ronan heads out with Rona.
At RS, Phyllis again pesters Nick about his call (which he claims was the printer). Flashing back to Deacon (who saw what she did), Phyllis talks about this creepy guy in the park. Declining Nick's help, Phyllis knows how to handle this kinda thing.
Tucker's not an idiot - he just needs a little help. Perhaps Kay could give the company back - and do so. Act like his mother - what a concept huh? Maintaining she has Tucker's best interests at heart, Kay goes to take a conference call - leaving Jack to wonder if Ashley and Tucker are having problems. Not here, Ashley leads him out.
At Tucker's, Abby suggests exercises for his 'carpal tunnel'. Tucker'd rather talk about the night of the big storm; when Abby caught him with Diane.
Assuring they'll do their best (to retrieve Chloe's stolen one of a kind clothing), the two uniformed cops leave her to leave a message (for whomever loaned her the clothes for a shoot). She then overhears Rona telling the other cop that Ronan's declared this '504' a priority. He's to stay and watch over Ms Mitchell.
Back at the station, Ronan calls Paul with good news - there's another Harvard grad who purchased a ring. He draws an arrow at Jack's photo.
Checking his hand as Ashley joins him on the patio, Jack knows she wouldn't walk away from her marriage without damn good reason. Ashley talks of Tucker's humiliation (a Judge declaring him incapable of running his affairs). She KNOWS Kay has an agenda. Annoyed that Ashley won't confide in him, Jack's then told that Tucker doesn't know about her proposition to Kay.
Tucker admits that Abby was right - he was a louse - he DID sleep with Diane. I KNEW it! Abby doesn't understand why he confessed to Ashley (after lying for months). Ah ha! THAT'S why Mom's not here - she left you, didn't she?
At the mausoleum, Chloe's told that Ester already took Delia to dance class (and tells Kay that her car was broken into). Why does this always happen to me? Chloe pouts - then whines about being blamed for Billy leaving. And what if something happens to Chance? Then there's the egotistical Ronan. At mention of Kevin, Chloe then admits that her best friend dumped her. Poor Delia - she loves him too. There's only one thing to do - break out the chocolates, Kay manages to turn Chloe's frown upside down.
Back at RS, things are awkward between Nick and Phyllis. After she leaves (supposedly to meet a graphic artist), a troubled Nick ignores another call from the blocked number.
At home, Jack relates to Kyle's grief - the best way to honour his Mom is to enjoy life. He explains the the news - and the police sometimes get it wrong. Warning Kyle that HE might even be suspected, Jack denies having anything to do with Diane's death. On cue, Ronan shows up - with several officers. Arms folded, Kyle wonders if they know who killed his Mom. Sent to unpack, Kyle takes his time heading upstairs - as Ronan, showing off the photo of Diane's arm, demands Jack's Harvard ring. Adam's? It didn't match - forensics can do amazing things these days. When Jack refuses, Ronan pulls out a warrant - they'll get it themselves.
As Tucker scratches away at his arm, Abby's thrilled to realize that her Mom dumped him. It's too late to 'make things right'. Never mind that Tucker forgave her for almost killing him - there wouldn't have BEEN an accident (if not for Tucker's lies). Out comes the veiled threat - Tucker kept her confession secret - and hopes he can continue to do so.
Summoned to RS, Ashley hears Nick threatening to kill Diane (as left on his voicemail). Someone keeps playing him this incriminating part - someone who has Ashley's phone. Not Ronan - perhaps it's Diane's killer.
Sitting outside, Kyle questions why the cops are inside. Jack and Diane had issues - but he never wanted anything bad to happen to her. Inside, Ronan's frustrated - the second floor's been search - no ring.
Kay plies Chloe with humour, chocolate shipped in from Belgium - and sage advice; make your future what you want it to be.
Back at the Abbott mansion, Jack goes in to see what's taking so long. Upset to see the living room being searched, Jack claims the ring's in his bedroom. Whaddaya mean it's not there? Jack has no idea where it is. Outside, Kyle pockets the ring. Having already lost his Mom, no one's gonna take his Dad away.
Is that some kind of threat? Abby's aghast - then furious when he calls her 'darlin'. In her haste to leave, she dumps the bottle of Calamine lotion grabbing her purse. How DARE you!? Everything's YOUR Fault! Abby wait ... Got to hell! Diane will be waiting there - you can hit the sheets again!
Nick has no clue why he's being tormented (or by whom) - but if the police get their hands on the recording, they'll know both were at the park that night. Be prepared - whomever has Ashley's phone might contact her next. Is this an extortion attempt? Ashley confirms she saw no one else at the park that night.
The parks n rec guys prop their ladder against the tree (to retrieve the camera for the police). What the hell!? It's gone!
So - what are we gonna do? Nick doesn't know. If Ashley gets any weird calls, she'll let Nick know right away. I'm scared ~hug~ Phyllis arrives.
Next: I wanna see her, Kyle bleats to Jack - I wanna see my Mom. Jack shakes his head - I'm not gonna let that happen ... You're my best friend and I need you, Nina weeps. I miss you too, Paul smiles ... I think that Tucker killed Diane, Abby stuns Ashley.
My Thoughts: Why is everyone NOW searching for incriminating evidence at the park? Wouldn't the police searching the crime scene have found anything (such as Ashley's cell phone)? .... I guess Kyle swiping his Dad's ring indicates he believes Jack might be guilty of killing his Mom. Guess you're never too young to obstruct justice .... Billy had 'no reason' to stick around? What about his family? His wife? ... Chloe has nerve calling Abby 'pathetic' (given her own history) ... Shoe's on the other foot huh Phyllis - who sure didn't look happy catching Nick hugging Ashley. Is this the next pairing? Will Nick get involved with another of his Daddy's leftovers? Despite the age difference, at least Ashley would get to spend time with Faith (though it doesn't appear that Nick spends much time with the kid either). Nosey Phyllis always has to ask who Nick's talking to ... Why isn't Nick making any attempt to trace the blocked calls he's receiving? ... Hopefully the paperwork Abby spilled calamine lotion all over aren't important .. When announcing she's selling Jabot, couldn't Kay have just told Jack that she's BUYING Jabot? For all her squawking about protecting Tucker - she now admits that she's taking her company back while she has the chance. How ironic that she claims not to trust Ashley and Tucker. How is that in Tucker's best interest? And will a Judge agree? ... Why is Ashley walking into Kay's home without even knocking? Why doesn't the billionaire keep her front door locked? Why would Jack blab to Ashley that he and Kay were just discussing a business proposition? Didn't kay just make a big deal of taking him into her confidence? I don't get why Abby's so angry at Tucker - since she was already sure he slept with Diane? Doesn't her trying to kill him (resulting in him losing his company) kinda even things out?
