Sofia and the potential baby daddy's are all disappointed when Dr Liv reports that the test doesn't indicate 'a damn thing' - either Neil or Malcolm could be the father.
A protective Devon's with Lily (at CL's) when Cane arrives (wanting to speak to her - and the twins). After Devon wheels the stroller out, Cane hands over the signed divorce papers - then says 'good bye'. You're leaving? Lily looks stunned (to hear he's moving back to Australia).
Ladies, stop! Jack can 'remedy this civilly'. Hearing that Kay hired Jill, Jack promptly fires her. Perched behind her new desk, Genevieve fails to conceal her smug little smile.
Still at G-worm, Tucker accuses Kay of sneaking around (by not releasing minutes from the last board meeting - during which she stole Jabot). You won't get away with this kinda crap anymore 'lady'.
The old photo in his hand, Paul rings someone's front door bell - and easily/quickly talks his way inside.
Taking a seat across from Kay, Tucker WILL find out (via the minutes) which board members sided with HER. No, he's not 'paranoid', he's back, 100% - ready to undo her damage - and finish the war SHE started. Good luck, Kay chuckles - then heads off to a meeting - at JABOT (leaving an all-business Tucker to leave a 'call me' message for Sofia; we have work to do).
As Jill (the manicurist) and Genevieve (the mobster's wife) exchange verbal jabs, Jack calls to summon security. Pulling out her signed contract, Jill correctly assumes that 'darlin' doesn't have one. When Kay drops by to visit her new head of marketing, she's assures 'that woman' will never work at Jabot. Jack just said the same thing - to JILL. After security makes a brief (and useless) appearance, Genevieve exits of her own free will (having no doubt that Jack will 'straighten it out').
Wanting to believe that Malcolm's the father, Sofia won't risk the baby (by doing an amniocentesis). Neil and Malcolm agree (but are frustrated when Liv concludes they'll all have to wait until the baby's born then).
Seated across from a sympathetic Lily, Cane wants her to 'move on' - be happy. You don't have to leave, Lily says. Taking her hand, Cane declares his everlasting love - then leaves Lily to look equally devastated.
Now home, Genevieve huffs and puffs about that 'old witch'. Dropping by, Cane asks her to come back to Australia with him (since no one wants her in town anyway). Yeah - like Genevieve's gonna go back with 'Ethan', the son who's spent NO time with her. And how noble (of him to 'sacrifice' for Lily's sake), she sneers that Cane's being run out of town. When Genevieve hints that she's staying to protect Lily (from Collin), Cane makes it clear that he doesn't want her anywhere NEAR Lily. And when Collin arrives (with divorce papers), Cane invites him to return to Australia too.
At the club, Neil updates Devon and Lily (that they still have no clue who's the Daddy). No offence - but Devon hopes the baby's Malcolm's. When Neil doesn't think it really matters, Lily frets about losing more people in her life (which leads her to update that Cane's leaving). We can't let this paternity mess tear our family apart, Lily implores.
Holding her belly, Sofia runs after her 'honey' - can't he at least be happy that the baby's healthy - and keep an open mind? Never mind the 'odds' - Sofia can come talk to Malcolm when she knows who fathered her baby. He COULD be your baby no matter what the test says, Sofia leaves Malcolm to return to Dr Liv (who's got his forgotten cell phone). He just wants answers (and to scold her for lying about the due date). Everyone being 'sorry' does him no good at all.
Back at Jabot, Jack campaigns for Genevieve (a sophisticated, well traveled woman with a natural knack for great marketing ideas). You can tell all that by sleeping with her? Jill scoffs (now behind the desk). Sent for her first official 'coffee break', Jill demands Kay 'fix this'. Reminding that he was promised total autonomy (and has met his goals), Jack declares Kay a control freak (like her son) - determined to interfere in everyone's life!
Cut to Paul. Still with no audio, he's in someone's living room. Whomever he shows the photo to hands him a stack of photos that get his attention.
Fine - Kay declares that both Jill and Genevieve will work at Jabot. Jack better 'work it out'. He IS the CEO after all. Exiting (as Jill returns) Kay tells her that the problem's solved. Assuming that 'crazy pants' is out, Jill's told to report to work tomorrow. Should be an interesting day, Jack's left to sigh.
Liv talks of all the Winter's family's been through; her and Lily's cancer - losing Dru. Sofia's baby was a ray of hope (while they were all reeling from Cane's death). Sure, Liv was wrong (to lie) - but couldn't take it away. But who's Malcolm supposed to trust now? Trust in the love he and Sofia share. She needs you, Liv implores.
When Collin mentions his grand kids, Cane threatens to kill him if he goes near them (or Lily). Yes - from Australia. Both parents seem proud that Cane's an Atkinson after all. Confirming that he really is going to Australia, Cane leaves Genevieve to blame Collin (for her losing the last child she had left).
At G-worm, Lily joins Sofia (who's admiring the ultra sound photo). Delivering a pep talk, Lily basically tells Sofia to revert to the strong (Dru-like) woman she once was. Sofia has some advice for Lily too - think long and hard before cutting Cane out of his kids lives. When Tucker arrives, Lily leaves him to deliver a pep talk too.
As Genevieve and Collin argue, his harsh words almost earn him a slap - which almost turns into a kiss, Jack interrupts with 'perfect timing'. 'She's all yours', Collin saunters out. And the door's barely closed before Genevieve pounces, lips first.
Cane's next stop is the mausoleum - to warn Jill off Collin (and to anger her with the news that he's moving back to Australia). In tears, Jill sure doesn't appreciate the 'bastard' breaking her heart - again.
Liv approaches Neil's table at the club - to give him a peace offering (an ultra sound photo). Briefly discussing Dru, Liv heads off with a photo for Malcolm too. Kay then joins Neil (who kinda hopes he DOES have to deal with the baby being his).
Shooting hoops, Malcolm gripes that Neil might get to raise another kid that shoulda been his. Having no Dad, Devon doesn't think it bad that the baby kinda has two Dads. On cue, Liv comes along to deliver the ultra sound photo (which gets Malcolm all emotional).
At CL's, Lily's got the twins in high chairs. Giving Charlie a rugby ball, she promises to teach him the 'silly game' (which she doesn't know how to play herself). Following the twins' eyes, Lily looks troubled when she sees a guy at the counter (a friend of Cane's?)
Cane thanks Jill for giving him a real family - teaching him how to love. Oh, the pain he's caused the only woman he's ever considered his Mom. Don't make this harder, Jill weeps on Cane's shoulder.
Cane hands in his ticket - checks his suitcase. And to a tear jerking musical montage ('When The Wind Blows'?), Sofia and Tucker laugh over the ultra sound photo... Leaving the mystery woman's house, Paul looks stunned ...
With Kay, Neil's also smiling proudly at the baby's photo ... A smiling Liv watches Malcolm and Devon shooting hoops .. Devouring Jack, Genevieve suddenly stops - and sobs on his chest ... Running to the front door, Jill slams it in Collin's disappointed face (then cries) ... Boarding pass in hand, Cane turns to see Lily, a twin in each arm. He caresses her face - then embraces all three.
Next: Chloe shouts at Ronan; Leave! So everyone who cares about you actually has a shot at forgetting you! ... What the hell are you thinking? Neil confronts Lily - you can't trust that man ... As a speechless Jack flaps his gums, Jill doubts Genevieve would know a marketing plan if it slapped her in the face!
My Thoughts: Neil doesn't want to 'take any chances' with this baby? Too bad he didn't use the same care when conceiving it ... Were there no other passengers on Cane's flight to Australia? In fact it didn't appear there was anyone else in the whole airport. Wouldn't Daniel be touched by the happy little reunion ... If Lily's got the twins with her at CL's, why is the babysitter at her place? ... Since there was no audio, we can only guess what Paul said to be welcomed inside a stranger's home so easily. I guess he just looks trustworthy (cause he didn't show any ID or his PI license) .... Though I don't condone Kay stealing (albeit it at a premium price) Jabot from Tucker, I wouldn't say SHE started the war. Tucker WAS the first one to steal KAY'S company. And while two wrongs don't make a right, Kay is merely doing to Tucker, what he did to HER. He 'snuck around' her back first ... Why would Kay bother to screw the cap back onto her Perrier water bottle (since she didn't take it along with her)? ... Why would the two security officers immediately turn around and walk out when the person Kay's just ordered them to 'escort out' says it 'won't be necessary'? They didn't even bother to glance in the boss's direction for confirmation ... Jill may be a 'witch', but I'm not sure why Genevieve's calling her 'old' - since Jess Walton's a whopping 3 months older than Genie Francis (so I'd assume the characters would be similar ages - 49) ... Genevieve sure does like throwing things - let's hope her keys don't get lost beneath the sofa cushions - or that there's anything breakable in her purse (at least her new job at Jabot will enable her to replace any broken cosmetics and perfume easily enough) ... Sure it's only a technicality, but Cane's divorce can't be 'final' - he only just handed Lily the signed paperwork. Surely it has to be stamped or filed or sumthin' ... LOL@ Genevieve shouting out 'I'll get it Merna' (like Merna, wherever she is, had any intention of rushing to answer the door). Genevieve sure didn't seem to be concerned with Merna's whereabouts when she jumped Jack on the sofa ... Does Lily think the whole world revolves around HER? - Neil, Malcolm and Sofia (not to mention an innocent unborn baby) are being torn apart by this 'mess' - and her main concern is HER losing more people in HER life? .... Why would Malcolm even have taken his cell phone out of his pocket (in the hospital room)? It's not likely he was talking on it .... Why did Sofia feel the need to announce to Lily that she's having a boy? Wasn't it obvious that Lily already heard? Why else would she be congratulating her? (being booked for a spot on one of Maury Povich's 'you are NOT the father' talk shows?) .... Lily's just finished telling Sofia to toughen up (be like Dru) - and she then meekly asks if she can give Lily some advice in return? Now, Dru would never ASK if she could give advice - she'd give it whether it was solicited or not ... Euuw - looks like Malcolm put on the same basketball uniform he was sweating in earlier (while Devon's fluorescent shoes look like they just came out of the box). In fact the bright glare is probably why Malcolm couldn't catch the ball ... Why is Liv handing out ultra sound photos like they're her personal business card? Is it HER job to get Neil and Malcolm any more emotionally invested (which will only devastate one of them)? ... Ladies - I don't have time for this, Jack protests - I've got a business to run.
