At CL's, Phyllis updates Mike; Delia has leukemia. Like everyone else, he'll be tested (as a potential donor). Having 'been there', Phyllis knows there's little anyone can do for Chloe.
How can this be happening? Chloe's reassured by Jill and Ester - they WILL find a donour. And when Delia awakens, wanting to go home, Chloe forces a smile and reassurance that all will be fine.
Kay's in the hallway with Ashley and Jack - all making it clear that money's no object. Am I a match? Chloe comes out - with Kevin. There's some things you should know first, he doctor sounds grim.
WTH happened? You missed the deadline to challenge any of the prosecution's evidence, Sharon scolds. Her team of supporters aren't satisfied with Avery's 'oops' attitude (over a 'huge mistake'). Yeah - it would 'suck' if they heard that recording (of Sharon threatening Skye). Only after Victor and Sam have their say, does Avery snip 'I. Missed. It. On. Purpose'.
Slumping into a seat across from Mike, Phyllis doesn't want to talk about Avery again. No - Delia's situation doesn't inspire her to reach out to her sister. This situation is not the same as Mike's (with Kevin). Phyllis does NOT want Avery in her life (and vice versa). Yes, she DOES think she can avoid Sharon's lawyer forever (despite being a journalist)
Back in the courtroom, Avery explains that the prosecution has opened the door (and must now allow the rest of the recording into evidence; once it's found that is). Well played, Victor praises. It's gonna be a 'helluva game', Avery promises as she packs up and marches out - leaving all (including Sharon) feeling confident.
The doctor spews out grim statistics; a full sibling would be a 25% possible match. 5% for parents. 30% of donours are family members - 70% from the national registry. All are eager to be tested - with Chloe and Kevin leading the way. Vikki and the Abbott's are determined to find Billy.
Having an assistant trying to reach the American Consulate in Hong Kong, Vikki's off to the trailer for clues. Jack has an idea - but goes to be tested first (as Chloe and Kevin are done). Irritated by Ester's whining, Kay sends her and Jill off to be tested too. Someone has to be 'one tough cookie', Kay tells Kevin - then goes into Delia's room to give Chloe a pep talk.
When Phyllis ignores a call from the GCPD (pain in the ass Ronan), Mike answers - 'no problem - she'll drop by the station today'. Told she just needs to sign her statement, Phyllis rejects Mike's offer to come with her (and is told to think about what he said about Avery).
Noah thinks Avery pulled 'a pretty cool trick'. Nick's impressed too. Avery will do whatever it takes - even making herself look like a 'bad lawyer'. She assumed Noah would be there - Nick, she wasn't so sure about.
Left with Sharon, Sam's encouraged to find a distraction - and thinks he and Vikki would be good for one another. She's glad he's 'there for her' (then is unceremoniously lead back to a cell).
In the hallway, Victor now has complete faith in Avery (who wishes she could say the same about him). Victor did damage in the first trial - when he could have saved Sharon. Why? Victor was protecting his empire - and has no regrets; off and on the stand.
Sharon got herself into this mess, Victor tried to warn her. But 'you bet' he'll help get her out. See you in court, Avery passes Mike on her way out. Victor then stuns Mike by informing he'll not plead the 5th this time. He can and he WILL tell all (including trying to frame Adam for Skye's murder). Victor will do anything to get Sharon off.
Having followed Sharon to the station, Nick and Noah are impressed by Avery. She's unpredictable, unorthodox - and definitely full of surprises.
Given Billy's laptop, Kevin grumbles (to Vikki) that he's only doing this for Delia. Having been tested (though Ashley wasn't eligible), she and Jack leave to call Traci (and find Abby). Sadly realizing that the Abbott's are rallying around Delia, NOT Billy, Vikki joins Chloe (who explains why she cut Billy out of Delia's life). We're gonna find him, Vikki assures (though doesn't look optimistic).
As Kevin works on Billy's laptop, Kay's updating Murphy (who's on his way back). You're glad he's coming, Kevin knows. Just play with your toy, Kay barks. As Mike arrives to be tested, Kay's pleased to see that Ester's pulled herself together. Dammit! Kevin can't get into Billy's laptop - so putting on a cheery face, pays a brief visit to Delia.
Dad!? You home?! At the ranch, Vikki finds only Sam (who updates on Sharon's trial - then gets an update on Delia). At the front door, Jack's there to fill Victor in about his niece. There IS something Victor can do - find Billy.
When Nick needs to relieve Faith's babysitter, Noah decides to go in his place - leaving Nick to say Faith's been calling to out for her Mom during the night (since their visit). It's best she forgets about me, Sharon puts her daughter first. And as Nick caresses Sharon's cheek, Phyllis arrives at the station. Further distressed when Avery arrives, Phyllis exits without being noticed (except by Nick; who quickly yanks his hand away). And after he leaves, Avery gives Sharon good news; Victor's gonna tell EVERYTHING this time.
Chloe regrets being with Ronan when he daughter needed her. She's no better than Billy. But he's not here, Kevin points out (while Chloe IS). Kay, Jill and Ester arrive - and are encouraged to go home. Kay lingers long enough to say that people are line up around the block. Everyone - BUT Billy, Chloe pouts.
At the ranch, Sam and Victor stand by - as Vikki rambles about ways to find Billy (who might be a match). Delia needs her Daddy (just as Vikki did when she was a child). And as Vikki's on the phone again, Victor tells Sam that Billy's 'garbage' (who everyone, including Delia, would be better off without).
Hands cuffed and in her prison uniform, Sharon's given a minute with Victor (who's magically transported himself back to the station). She's grateful that Victor's once again given her hope (by agreeing to tell all on the stand). Victor's leaving for a while - but will be back soon.
When Nick joins her on the patio, Phyllis runs through what he's about to say; it didn't mean anything - Sharon's the mother of his children blah blah blah. No - she's not jealous - we're colleagues, friends. Nick's skeptical - we're more than friends and you know it ~kiss~ Walking into CL's, Avery sees the lip lock (before an excited Nick and Phyllis run out hand in hand)
Back at the mausoleum, Jill reports that Philip hasn't heard from Billy. So nice how everyone's coming together for Delia, Ester simpers. Tragedy brings us together, Kay agrees. Or tears it apart, Jill adds.
At the club, Ashley reports that Traci's being tested. SHE was willing to drop everything and fly out - but where the hell is Billy!? Jack's tried everyone - even Victor. Both are furious that their little brother's not there in his daughter's time of need.
Still at the ranch, Vikki rants about Billy's irresponsibility. He doesn't give a damn about anyone. Sam recalls the ending of his own marriage. Sometimes he thought disappearing was the only answer. No - he didn't. But maybe Billy didn't do it TO you - he did it FOR you, Sam suggests.
Mommy! Delia calls out. Mommy's right here, Chloe hops up on the bed - close your eyes. Shhh, she cradles her daughter.
Next: This is me meeting you half way, Phyllis tells Avery (who says 'sorry Sis. But now I'm too busy for you) ... Neil has questions for Kay - why are you jumping at the music industry - why are you taking Devon with you? ... Billy has to come home -when he finds out his little girl went through all this without him ... He'll never forgive himself, Tucker finishes her sentence.
My Thoughts: Today's 'pot meet kettle' moment comes courtesy of Victor. According to him, Cordelia would be 'better off' without her 'garbage' father (never mind the less than stellar relationship he has with his own kids) .... 'Steve' really needs Vikki to send him a photo of Billy? Like he couldn't just pull one off the Internet? ... Yes - Traci's willing to 'drop everything' - including her Big Mac - to fly back to GC .... What makes Vikki think that the American Consulate in Hong Kong (or the Chinese one in America (!?)) would have any interest in finding Billy Abbott (who's nothing but am overgrown, spoiled rich kid). Why not just send Paul? .... Does Victor understand that by telling 'the whole truth', he's admitting to crimes that might put him behind bars? ... While Shick fans hearts might briefly go pitter patter, Phick fans will be delighted with today's kiss (with the promise of more to come - so to speak). Why anyone thinks Nick deserves either of these women, I'll never know ... Oh no Phyllis - you're not jealous (never mind that you once donned a housekeeper's uniform to break into Sharon's suite - cutting up her lingerie in a jealous rage). Ole Red will always 'see red' when it comes to Nick and Sharon... Oh yeah Phyllis - I'm sure Ronan is 'crushin' on you. Never mind that you're almost old enough to be his mother ... Having been at Memorial for HOURS, you'd think Jill would have called Lauren already (not wait for Mike to update her) ... Delia seems pretty perky for a child stricken with leukemia. But shouldn't Kevin check with the doctors before promising to sneak in ice cream. Guess he doesn't know that cancer cells feed off sugar? I was surprised to learn that 90% of leukemia is diagnosed in adults. What HASN'T been mentioned - is details; whether Delia's suffering from acute or chronic leukemia. Is it the more common Juvenile Myelomonocytic leukemia? Or something more uncommon? You'd think Chloe would be screaming for details. Nice that everyone offering to be tested, is doing so without even asking about the discomfort or pain involved. Honestly, I'd be waiting for Chloe and Billy to go first (as they're more likely to be a match). I wonder how many of those being tested for Delia will put themselves on the registry (to be matched as donours for strangers) .. Why hasn't GC Memorial referred Delia to a hospital that actually specializes in cancer/leukemia. An all purpose hospital can't give Delia specialized care ... Sure Kevin, Kay may be 'one tough cookie' - or she might just be an old beyotch (really - she had no need to talk to Ester in that manner) ... Phyllis made it sound like everyone else had already been tested already (as a match for Delia). But - oddly enough, it seems she was the only one tested so far - BEFORE Chloe!? Where's Chloe? the doctor comes out to ask. Duh - where do you think she'd be? In her sick daughter's hospital room perhaps? ... I hope that when Billy gets back, he'll be allowed to focus on his daughter (not be forced to defend himself to everyone) ... Phyllis forgot to sign her statement? Shouldn't the officer taking her statement have noticed that before allowing Phyllis to leave the station? ... ... Nice that Victor will do everything in his power to 'get Sharon off'. I'm sure she feels the same way about him *snicker*. Today's show closes with a PSA - contact bethematch.org - save a life. CBS cares.
