Kay wanders down the alley on her phone - and spotting Harmony's obviously lived in car, is about to reach for her wallet - then changes her mind (and hurries off) when she catches Harmon's eye - as she applies lip gloss in the driver's seat.
As Tucker cradles Moses, Sophia admits she was wrong in assuming she'd be able to tell who fathered him. After the doctor makes a brief appearance (to say the DNA results will be in that morning), Tucker wonders who she WANTS to be the father.
Neil and Lily are at Devon's - getting an update on Tucker's apology. People CAN be sorry they've hurt you - but NOT be capable of change (Lily speaks from experience). Briefly taking a call, Neil encourages Lily to listen to her intuition (that Cane's hiding something). And what's HE hiding? Neil announces Sophia's call - we're finding out this morning; whether he or Malcolm fathered Moses.
At CL's, Malcolm gets the call too. Admiring a photo of the gorgeous Moses, Phyllis apologizes for 'crossing the line' (with her story) - and encourages him to share what's bothering him. Promising it's 'off the record', Phyllis is told that Moses may not be his - Neil 'swooped in' (when Malcolm and Sophia were having ;difficulties). Neil!? Phyllis is floored.
As Delia sleeps, Chloe and Vikki are told that Delia's cancer free - the marrow transplant will be done today. After the doctor leaves, Chloe can't believe Billy isn't here - and greatly appreciates the supportive Vikki filling in for her 'lousy' husband.
At the trailer, Billy tells Kevin that Victor had the divorce papers drawn up - not Vikki. Actually Kevin DOES talk to Vikki. She wants to 'move on' - but Kevin advised her not to rush it. Victor arrives with good news - the transplant will take place today - Kevin can return to his life (and Billy can remove himself from theirs).
Victor's made a generous donation to another doctor (who'll make is seem that Kevin's the donor). As Kevin leaves for the hospital. Billy thanks him. Good luck, Kevin wishes Billy as he exits. That leaves victor to remind Billy that HE made all this possible. Now, let's go to the hospital.
Holding Malcolm's hand across the table, Phyllis praises him for letting Neil in the delivery room. Does he WANT to be the father? Having held Moses, Malcolm wants the baby to be his. He'd never couldn't turn his back on his family. Not just because of the baby - Malcolm admits he's still in love with Sophia.
Sophia not saying who she wants to win the 'Daddy Sweepstakes' tells Tucker all he needs to know. Be proud, not embarrassed. No matter what the results, Moses will be just fine - he has YOU.
Lily was shocked to hear about Neil and Sophia, but both she and Devon won't have an 'issue' if the baby's his. But it'll be an issue for Malcolm, Neil knows. If Sophia wasn't married to Malcolm ... (Devon has to ask). She IS married to Malcolm, Neil won't spend time on 'what if'. On their way out, Neil and Lily leave Kay (who's hoping to talk to Devon).
Kay doesn't blame Devon for being upset at her - but he shouldn't cheat himself out of the opportunity (to start his own record label). Devon doesn't want to be associated with her. Associated? Darling, sweet Devon - you are my grandson (and that won't change). Kay WASN'T using him to get back at Tucker. Indeed, she IS trying to use reverse psychology on the smiling Devon (to prove that he DOES have talent).
Tucker finds Harmony (looking for a job at G-worm). That mean she's sticking around? Tucker admits he was a selfish bastard - he'd like to make it up - if she'll let him - starting with this... He writes and hands over a check. Very generous - strings attached? Yes - Harmony's to leave town - today.
Kevin's in a hospital gown and bed. A hero to Vikki, Kevin's also completely restored Chloe's faith in men. Kevin need anything to 'relax'. I'm fine - don't bother DR Larson.
In another hospital room, Billy's also in a gown and bed. Dr Lawson's not comfortable with this 'arrangement'. When Billy explains that this is the way Victor wants it, she asks Victor to leave - so she can explain the procedure to Billy. In the hallway, Victor instructs the male nurse - no one comes in - Billy doesn't get out. Back in Billy's room, Dr Lawson asks if Billy's there against his will. Billy chuckles - he's gonna save his daughter today. Let's make this happen.
At the park, Cane quickly ends his call - when Lily rounds the corner pushing the stroller. When Cane declines revealing who he's leaving a message for, Lily grabs the phone. You're calling your father!?
The check should be enough for Harmony to make a fresh start - elsewhere. As long as you don't have to deal with me - how ELSE is she to take it? 'Mick' hasn't changed at all. Listen - Tucker just wants to get to know his son. He's NOT trying to pay Harmony off. Save it - she remembers how well he convinced her that she was special to him. Too damn bad - she has JUST as much right to make for lost time (with Devon). She may not have as much money - but she KNOWS she has more LOVE to give Devon (than Tucker). Glasses now on, Harmony tosses the check on the bar and leaves Tucker to grind his teeth.
Back at Devon's, Kay doesn't think he's being fair to her (in saying she has no sincere interest in his career). Isn't she putting Anna through music school? Kay's simply trying to make things right between them (as 'Family' is the bottom line). Devon's cut family out of his life before - and DOES see similarities between Kay and Harmony (who both showed up at his door with apologies). Reading the tabloid Devon hands her, Kay promises to find a way to restore his trust in her.
Phyllis just loves the adorable baby - and the name Moses. Sophia loves the baby photo Malcolm gives her - and gets all territorial when Phyllis offers to get Malcolm coffee. He's fine, she extends a protective hand onto Malcolm's chest before he can even answer. After Phyllis leaves, Sophia's not happy to hear that 'she knows' (but is happy Malcolm has someone to talk to). Still hoping that he's the father, Sophia has NO doubts (based on Malcolm's past behavior). Malcolm did - until now. Moses will get everything he has to give. And when Malcolm brings the baby over to Sophia, a stone faced Neil walks in on what appears to be an intimate family moment.
Lily's beside herself - unable to BELIEVE Cane's doing 'this' again. His lies almost got the twins KIDNAPPED! If Cane can't trust HER with the truth, Lily can't trust HIM. And now she doesn't want him to see the twins anymore.
Kevin works to pretend he just came out of surgery. Act like you're drunk - let it wear off in a few hours, Dr Lawson coaches. He's to fake back pain for a week. A week!? And when Chloe comes in, Kevin's performance begins (though he's clearly not comfortable upon hearing Delia's coming for a visit). Gift in hand, Chloe can't thank Kevin enough. Vikki then wheels Delia in - with a drawing of Kevin as a hero (which is how they all see him).
Fresh out of surgery, Billy doesn't have to fake HIS disorientation. Victor wastes no time saying they won't have to see much more of each other - thankfully. Delia's receiving his bone marrow. Seeing her is 'out of the question'. She no longer has cancer - thanks to Billy doing 'the right thing' (which he must CONTINUE to do). As SOON as Delia recovers, Billy's to leave town.
Back in the alley, tabloid in hand, Kay recognizes (and approaches) Harmony - and knocks on her hood the way she would a front door. Getting out of her car, Harmony rejects 'charity' from Mrs Chancellor. We're family, Kay thinks it'd ease her grandson's mind if Harmony had a safe place to stay. She'd do anything to help Devon - surely they have THAT in common?
Bumping into Tucker at G-worm, Devon declines joining him for lunch. When Devon notices the check, Tucker explains his offer to help Harmony (which offended her pride). Devon scoffs - he and Kay are so much alike - throwing money at people to win em over. Neither he nor Yolanda need his money - take your cash and shove it.
With Sophia and Neil both feeling 'overwhelmed', Malcolm chortles to Moses. And no one looks happy when the doctor arrives to announce that Neil's the father.
Bless the Beasts and the Children plays. Kevin's emotional as Vikki and Chloe wheel Delia out. A grave-faced Victor peeks in on Billy (who's kneeling in prayer beside his bed). Vikki's surprised to bump into her father in the hallway. A determined Lily ignores a devastated Cane's appeal - as she wheels the twins away. Kay brings Harmony home to the mausoleum (which she seems in awe of).
At G-worm, an unwielding Devon walks away from a sad Tucker. Sophia and Malcolm both look heartbroken - as he hands Moses to Neil - then walks out, dejected. In the hallway, Malcolm heaves a sigh - as inside the room, Neil and Sophia gush over their baby. Arriving, Phyllis watches the happy scene through the window - and gives a depressed Malcolm a wordless hug.
Next: Avery's passionate - Adam! If you can save Sharon - for God's sake - NOW is the time to do it! .... Phyllis has a question for Nick - what's going on between him and Avery? .... I want a divorce, Malcolm announces to Sophia.
My Thoughts: Odd that Kevin's to fake disorientation and back pain for a week - while Delia (who's had the same procedure) is all smiles ... Chloe sure didn't put much value in Billy's ability to make Delai laugh - until she'd succeeded in running him out of town .... Love the way Kay looks down her nose as she takes in Devon's humble abode (much different from the way Yolanda takes in HER opulent new digs). Surprising that Hunter's never home - to wrangle introductions to all the rich folk now suddenly stopping by all the time ... Devon's Kay's grandson - and that will ALWAYS be true (until a DNA changes all that - as it did for Jill. Never mind that this is ALL still on the say-so of an admitted drug addict) ... Nice that Dr Lawson's not 'comfortable' with this arrangement - but I guess Victor's generous donation to her clinic helps her feel more comfortable with the scam (comfortable enough that she's risking her license to practice medicine). You'd think there'd be other staff to answer to (and explain why Billy's in a hospital bed) ... No wonder Sophia was so huge - and waddled instead of walked; she gave birth to a 2 month old! ... The last scene truly brought a lump to my throat. I actually felt sorry for Malcolm - and Tucker - and Cane (go figure).
