At CL's, Devon will indeed give Paul a minute - there's a few things he has to say to HIM too.

Adam introduces himself to Genevieve (who's reputation also preceded her). Now back at Newman, Adam would like to do coffee - do our damnedest to pull corporate secrets out of one another.Chuckling (and walking) Genevieve will have to get back to him. Abby appears - once Gen finds out what he's done to Uncle Jack etc, she'll stay away. What's Adam being falsely accused of now? Killing Diane and making everyone else look guilty - that's what.

Naked and in Ronan's bed, Phyllis is told he might just be able to get he DA to drop the charges against her. Really - in exchange for what, Phyllis replies in a breathless whisper that supposed to be sexy I think.

In Nick's arms, also naked, Avery asks the worst question one can ask - what are you thinking? After joking about what a man would be thinking, Avery decides not to share what a woman might be thinking - causing the 'sweet' Nick to say nothing will scare him off (except maybe a phone call - replaying his threat to kill Diane). What's wrong? Avery bleats.

Scared Nick? You should be, a bundled up Merna puts her recorder away as Jack saunters over to the park bench. Hey - what's going on? Merna shrinks into the winter wollies covering her face.

Ronan could tell the DA that she cooperated in the Jenkins case (therefor owing Phyllis a favour). The civil case? That's up to Ricky. Before Ronan goes to the DA, he wants Phyllis to tell him about the warehouse - and what they're hiding. No, Phyllis won't be arrested for not coming forward earlier. OK then - Phyllis tells all about the film,

Abby doesn't buy Adam's dumb act (accusing him of playing the film for them). He wasn't in the movie - or at the warehouse. Motive? Abby points out that whomever shot the film is likely the killer.

Nick tells Avery that he was involved with Diane - and about the recording (from his call to Ashley's phone). Someone's now playing it for him - and Malloy. Of course Avery believes Nick (who's not  capable of murder).

Jack's surprised to see Merna - shouldn't she be home taking it easy? Gen's very fond of you - and Jack's fond of Genevieve. As Merna runs off, Genevieve joins Jack. Odd - Merna must have seen her. Everything about that woman's odd, Jack opines.

Kay's great news about Delia sends Ashley scurrying to the hospital. That was nice - but Tucker assumes she's there about not being invited to the wedding. No - she's there to talk about Devon.

On the patio, Paul relays threatening to tell Devon himself (at the risk of losing his license) - that's how strongly he felt about it. Unfortunately, the secret came out. Kay using the secret as a weapon is pretty 'harsh' - Paul explains that Kay was misguided - but trying to protect Devon. For what it's worth, she was excited about finding (and getting to know) him. Encouraged to forgive, Devon describes a childhood of yearning for his father - but now, he has an incredible family - and doesn't need Kay or Tucker.

Now dressed, Avery advises Nick to come forward - and now that he HAS a lawyer - let go find Ronan - take the heat off.

Telling Ronan all about the film shown in the warehouse, Phyllis thinks Adam behind it - and the murder (as he wasn't in either). Not necessarily, Ronan's not so sure.

Letting herself into Jack's house - with a key she's managed to keep all this time, Merna/Patty removes her hat - flashing back to him carrying her through the front door. Picking up a framed photo, she declares him a fool- Genevieve? When WILL he ever learn? Oh how she loves the Abbott Mansion. Soon - I'll make it happen for us all over again, she kisses the photo.

Strolling through the park, Gen claims Merna was always shy - now she's traumatized. On to happier subjects - Delia may be home in time to be a flower girl. How about Gen comes as his +1? She'd love to. His house empty, Jack wants to cook for her. Yes ~kiss!

Adam didn't kill Diane - or make a snuff film. Abby remains convinced she's right. Unconcerned, Adam's off to find a quieter place to work.

Swearing Phyllis to secrecy, Ronan wonders if someone he hasn't considered yet is pulling the strings. This unknown person may be Diane's killer.

Merna chats to the framed photo - her laughter ending when she remembers (and flashes back to) her dead cat. We're so happy and in love, Merna rejoices - then rushes to hide when Jack and Genevieve loudly approach the front door. And as Jack pours drinks, Merna spots her scarf left out.  Uh oh.

If Ronan's right - it might simplify things (not complicate em more). Nick bangs on the door. As Phyllis ducks into another room, Avery appears beside Nick (having heard voices, she knows HE'S not alone either).

At SL's, Ashley tells Devon about Delia. No - he's not coming to the wedding. No - he won't reconsider. Ashley hopes he won't be sorry. Nothing against Ashley, but Devon's already sorry - that he's related to Kay and Tucker.

Kay's reaching out to Tucker after Murphy encouraged her to. Uniting is their only way to bond with Devon. Tucker doesn't believe he needs Kay's help getting close to his son.

As Jack and Genevieve let the 'houseman' in with the groceries, Jack goes to investigate a noise.

Ronan's alone - he was on the phone. Phyllis listens as Nick admits to threatening Diane - but didn't kill her. He offers to tell everything he knows - even take a lie detector test. It can wait til the morning, Ronan tries to get rid of them - then panics when Avery runs to the bathroom (claiming she has something in her eye).

Back at CL's, Ashley continues to try and persuade Devon to give Tucker a chance. Don't let emotions get in the way. All due respect - but butt out. Hey, Abby comes along - why are you talking like that to my Mom?

The bathroom's a mess, Ronan manages to stop Avery (who, OK now, leaves with Nick). Checking to confirm the coast is clear, Ronan lets Phyllis out of the bathroom - to discuss Nick's confession. They're sleeping together - Phyllis and Nick aren't together because of Avery (who did it to get back at her). Is it working? Phyllis' kiss implies it's not.

Rejoining Ed and Genevieve, Jack didn't find anything amiss in the kitchen. On his way out, Ed hands over a rabbit's foot he found while racking. Looks more like a cat's paw, Gen examines it.

At the park, Merna babbles to herself - then spots 'Paulie' - and runs the other direction.

Tucker doesn't see any benefit to joining forces with Kay (as Devon's just as disgusted in HER). In fact, that might give father and son common ground. Tucker will find a way to bond with Devon - WITHOUT Kay's help. Dismissed, Kay gives him one more pained look and exits.

Ingoring Abby's attempt to stop him, Devon leaves before he says something he'll regret. Ashley takes the blame - she made it worse by trying to force the issue. Abby's supportive ~hug~ Devon might come around like she did.

Back at the suite, Avery spotted a high heeled boot - that and Ronan's reaction to her using the bathroom indicates he had a woman in there. Nick and Avery then kiss.

That'll teach you, Phyllis huffs and puffs as she flops back into the bed. What WILL happen if Ronan brings up Nick and Avery's names? ~kiss~

Disgusted by the mysterious paw, Genevieve throws it in the garbage before joining Jack in the kitchen

What are you doing here!? Adam tells Patty to go ahead - scream. Paul can't help you - you'll end up in a straight jacket. Patty just wanted to get a better look - that's all. What's this about a movie? Adam scolds - you'll get caught. He HOPES she's sorry (the warns she'll end up back in a psych ward if she doesn't leave town tonight). Patty refused. You have to go, Adam persists. But why? Everyone hurt Diane - especially you Adam. If he doesn't leave her alone, Patty will tell everyone what he did.
