At his studio, Devon's getting good news by phone (a meeting at 3). Hanging up, he grins at his pricey painting; it's all coming together - it's exactly what we need.
At CL's, Tucker's also on his phone - apparently a meeting has been set up - for 3pm. Fantastic.
On the patio, Cane apologizes for his glum mood. Understanding that Samantha's on his mind, Lily asks to see her picture again. She'd have loved to have meet her. Cane's sure Samantha would have loved Lily, the kids - and Jill.
Returning home, Neil gets a report on Moses. And when he talks of setting a wedding date, Sophia confides that she hasn't sensed much enthusiasm from Neil. Has he changed his mind?
Ronan and Phyllis are at the tree lot - kid free and flirtatious.
Adam visits his 'Pops' - to say he's being pressured to change his story. But that'd be detrimental to Nikki wouldn't it? Victor growls - you're playing a dangerous game son.
At the club Nikki drinks and scowls at her ring. Sharon clip clops over - you're not an easy lady to track down. Why is she letting Victor make this sacrifice for her?
Sophia wants to see where Neil's head is at. She can easily imagine them as a family - but has things changed for Neil. He loves his son more every day - and doesn't want to lose Sophia. Let's do it - this afternoon (since the Reverend is leaving tomorrow). Neil's serious about making it official - unless Sophia's having second thoughts. No - but she doesn't think a dream wedding is in order (given the circumstances).
Handing the photo back, Lily plays therapist. She won't let Cane push his feelings aside (as he always does). It's an ingrained habit for Cane (who grew up with secrets and not demonstrating feelings). He feels he's doing a good job - and didn't even realized his mother loved him as a kid. Are you afraid you'll end up like your Mom? Lily probes.
Nick bumps into Ronan and Phyllis. Hi - this is weird. What's weird? Nick was just gonna call her - abut getting a tree. And here she is - with Ronan (who beat him to it). Ronan just happened to come by - to offer help. Not buying it, Nick's left to comment on Ronan speaking up for his Dad in court. Ronan didn't do it for Victor - he did it because there's still a killer at large. Catch heat for that? Sure did - Ronan got fired.
Sorry she didn't visit Sharon in jail, Nikki's asked how she can stand to see Victor behind bars. Unwilling to discuss it, Nikki tries to stagger off. Shielding herself from Nikki's breath, Sharon's horrified; Oh. My. God. You are drunk!
No, Sophia's not saying she wants a big wedding. Encouraged to call Reverend Fulton, she skips to the phone.
Victor's expected to believe that Adam would open himself up to perjury - obstruction of justice? Adam wants Victor to cooperate with HIM too (by throwing his weight around - regarding Nick's board meeting; where he hopes to unseat and replace Adam). You want Daddy's help? To come to your rescue? Adam can't stand up to his brother? Amused by the challenge, Adam will do things his way then - but don't come whining when Nick gets his feelings hurt. And Adam's not to come whining to Victor when Nick 'grinds him to the ground'.
The DA may not be interested in Ronan's theory - but Nick sure is; who does he think killed Diane? Phyllis returns on cue. And since Ronan's off to a meeting, Nick agrees to 'help' Phyllis. He's left to suspect Ronan didn't just show up there - he wants to 'nail' Diane's killer. Phyllis doesn't agree that he wants to 'nail' her. Be careful - of course Nick's worried about her (the mother of his child). 'Important to me', is what Nick was gonna say. So - what's Nick's theory on who killed Diane? Phyllis wonders.
Resigned, Nikki sits back down to take a sip. I AM drinking - what of it? Also taking a seat, Sharon thinks that explains a lot. Then go on home Miss Tutie Fruity - leave me alone. Sharon insists Nikki pull herself together - for her family that's falling apart. You must love that - you finally got your wish. Mazol Tov, Nikki drinks.
Hallelujah! Sophia hangs up and updates Neil that they're penciled in for 3pm this afternoon. Neil gives her a high five - then goes to round everyone up. He's sure the kids will be OK with it - they love you. And as Neil exits, Tucker arrives. Subdued by the news, of course he wishes Sophia well - but is this the right thing to be doing?
Back on the patio, Cane's therapy session is interrupted by a call from Neil (who shocks Lily with a summons to his wedding - and Sophia could use her help). Rushing out, Lily invites Cane for Christmas - and exits still talking to Neil (how did this happen?). Cane's left to mopes over the photo of him and Samantha.
Neil's impressed by Devon's studio - and to hear he's got a meeting in a few minutes (with 'Sound Burst' - who's connections could launch him into the 'big leagues'). Announcing the wedding, Neil tells Devon to come by AFTER his meeting. Weddings are a 'huge deal' too, Devon asks if Neil's happy about it (and gets silence).
At CL's, Adam calls to summon Tucker over. Trust me, you won't regret it. Hanging up (as Lily arrives) Tucker just wants Sophia to be happy. And with a quick kiss, he leaves for his meeting. The ladies then go over the something old, something new. Is the wedding just for Moses? No - Sophia admires the wonderful Neil so much - but wonders if she's being unrealistic. Lily knows that feelings can deepen over time - but she also knows that being in love isn't always enough to make a marriage work.
At the chapel, Cane lights a candle - then checking his pockets, realizes he's lost something (the photo of him and Samantha?)
As Nikki empties her flask into her glass, Sharon thinks she's had enough. Nikki's sure had enough of Sharon; the disgusting slut. Nikki lists Sharon's conquests - it's like a phone book - Billy Abbott; the night before his wedding - while married to his brother. Disgusting - you're into that whole brother thing, Nikki talks of Adam (or was that just to dig the knife into Nick's back?) Play it again Sam. Sam! There's another one, Nikki cackles at her own wit. She may be drunk - but she speaks the truth. Dislike Sharon? She DETESTS her; a gold digger who's still ruining her son's life. Like how Nikki's ruining Victor's now. Sharon follows Nikki - to remark that she's just married a gold digger. Shut up you bitch, Nikki gives Sharon a mighty shove.
Tucker meets Adam at CL's - so what's this about? The NE board meeting. Adam wants his vote. He has plans for BofN. You'd sell it to me if I'd vote you in? It's an illegal offer - Tucker's not interested in this conversation (and so, leaves Adam to call another board member)
At the chapel, Cane pours his heart out to Samantha. If only he had someone who understands him (as she did). But how can they - if he doesn't let them in? He sure wishes she were here. But it's Lily who arrives - to bring him the photo she found outside (much to Cane's relief).
At the penthouse, Phyllis admires her tree. Nick offers to help decorate it - but not now. Showing him out, Phyllis asks again - who's getting away with murder? Nick only knows that Victor didn't - and that she better watch out for Ronan. Phyllis makes a call - the coast is clear - come on by. And there's Ronan - at the door.
What are you people looking at? Nikki staggers off - an embarrassed Sharon stumbles over debris on the floor to scurry off in the other direction.
Back at the chapel, Lily informs that her Dad and Sophia are getting married. Perhaps it's NOT coincidence that Cane's here - maybe he's supposed to be here. And when Neil arrives, he guesses it's OK if Cane stands in as best man (for Devon). In a sparkly white dress, Sophia arrives with the Reverend. Moses wheeled in for a front row seat, the ceremony begins; dearly beloved.
Meanwhile, a surprised Devon doesn't have time for Tucker - he's expecting some music execs. That would be me, Tucker announces.
Phyllis apologizes for the awkward run in with Nick. No, she hasn't told him about them. Ronan then hints at her involvement in hacking into the RS web site - with info he told her. Is the good detective mad? No - it's good that the info's out there. Victor's confession is bull - and everyone should know it.
Sharon visits Victor - to say his plan's backfiring. She just saw Nikki - protecting her isn't working - she's losing it. What happened, Victor wants to know.
On the phone, Adam really appreciates Bob's support (which won't go unrewarded). What's this about a reward? Nick comes over to scowl.
Ronan's not there to discuss the case - he's brought mistletoe - to hold above Phyllis' head - and now he can kiss her.
You are my meeting? No, Devon didn't know Tucker was Sound Burst. He's not accepting help from his real Dad - why would he accept help from Tucker?
The Reverend continues with the ceremony - what God has joined together ... Wearing a dopey grin, Cane can't take his eyes off Lily.
In the interrogation room, Sharon asks what's gonna happen when a drunken Nikki confesses in public. She'd never to that, Victor's sure - besides, Nikki's HIS concern.
Nikki staggers over to collapse in Nick's arms. Mom? Mom? Nick looks up at Adam - as he gently lowers his mother to the floor. She's passed out cold.
Next: Sophia grumbles to Tucker: My brand new husband takes off without a word - and I'm not supposed to be worried? ... Kay's with Nikki - tell me what you're hiding. Just leave me alone, Nikki snaps.... Maybe you'd be a bit more comfortable calling me Papa huh? Deacon smirks at Nick (who punches him in the jaw).
My Thoughts: Line of the day goes to Phyllis (to Nick) - you think Ronan wants to nail me? Odd that Nick never mention RS impilcating his mother in Diane's murder - you'd think he'd be smart enough to suspect Phyllis (or maybe not) .... Ronan's hair swoop is shades of Jack ... Devon never got the name of the Sound Burst exec he was to meet with? Didn't he Google them - so he'd be able to impress them with his knowledge of the 'huge' company? He really shoulda guessed - since he knows Tucker's in the business.... Wouldn't Sound Burst want to know who Devon's signed? Perhaps he should have them listen to his only 'talent'; the sweet vocals of Angelina ... When did Tucker (who refuses to listen to Adam) become so against illegal business dealings anyway? Didn't he bribe European officials with expensive paintings? ... Hard to feel much sympathy for Cane - mourning the loss of a sister he never mentioned until recently. Perhaps her death was faked - to keep her safe - and she's serving beers at Jimmy's or sumthin'. Why would Samantha have loved Jill? The woman who hates her mother? .... Oh Nikki - she does do drunk so well. Loved her lashing out at Sharon. I thought those two had formed a begrudged friendship over the years. Remember, it WAS Nikki who climbed down sewers with Sharon to dispose of Cameron's body ... NOW Nikki thinks it hot in the club? But she wasn't hot while sitting with her back about 5 feet away from a roaring fireplace .... Good Detective Ronan may think it good that the BS on Victor is 'out there' - but how can he overlook the fact that Phyllis broke the law to do so? ... How did Ronan get into her building? I thought the penthouse had tight security (at least that was how Phyllis pitched it when campaigning for Daisy to stay there) .. Why would it be 'important' for Reverend Fulton to perform their wedding? Sophia hasn't been in town long - never mind going to church often enough to be attached to any Reverend..... If 'family' is the most important thing to Neil, why can't he postpone his wedding so his son can stand up for him ... 'We've both had 'dream weddings', Sophia says - clearly forgetting that she ended hers vomiting - because she was carrying her new brother in law's baby ... How could Neil possible 'lose' Sophia. She's kinda hard to misplace. Yeah Sophia - Moses is the one bustin' out of all his clothes *snicker*
