Bumping into one another at G-worm, Kay informs Tucker that she's spending a quiet new year's at home - Murphy, Ester and Harmony. Ashley's in New York with Abby - but Tucker declines Kay's invite - he's looking forward to his evening alone (but looks glum when Kay walks off without further word).

At CL's, Neil thanks Harmony for his pep talk the other day - then informs that Devon's working today (then going out with Roxy). Thinking her wise not pushing, he credits Harmony for staying clean. It ain't easy - but she wants to be a mother Devon can be proud of. Keep on doing exactly what you're doing, Neil advises.

At Lily's, Devon and Roxy talk about all the hits Angie's song is getting. Today he's working on a more polished track for the official release - then it's off clubbing. Lily (and the twins) will be babysitting at Neil's (sans Cane - as he didn't hint that he'd like to join her).

Cane's at G-worm - brunching with Genevieve. She's spending new year's with Jack - he has no plans. Commenting that she's spending a lot of time with Jack, Cane sighs his disapproval when Gen announces their engagement.

Stretching awake, Vikki asks Billy 'what's wrong'. He had a nightmare - of Myanmar. Both are glad this horrible year will soon be over (though Billy'd do it all over again - to end up here with Vikki) ~kiss~

At CL's, Jack and Nick are happy to be in laws again. Nice that one of the Newman's is happy. Jack's sorry to hear about the old man. Really? Nick quips - at least the saga of Sharon and Prince Charming is finished - hopefully.

Beneath the sheets, Adam never thought he'd be in Sharon's arms again. It was a magical night, Sharon raves - but it's over. Clearly disappointed, a frown tugs at Adam's mouth.

Devon escaping to work, Roxy helps Lily with the laundry. Both are pleased for the other - Devon's happier since Roxy came home - and Cane and Lily are 'getting their groove back'. Roxy confides that Devon has issues with his estranged family - it's hard to let them in (as they've hurt him). Lily can relate - hopefully Devon can open up (as she has).

Devon's fine with Harmony dropping by the studio. He's happy to hear praise for Angie's song - and she's happy to hear Anna was glad to see her. The brief visit meant a lot - we owe Kay for the surprise. Devon must not agree - because he lets his voicemail answer Kay's 'Happy New Year' message. Harmony scolds - I can't believe you didn't pick up.

Huh? Genevieve thought Cane liked Jack. But what's the rush? Cane can't believe she said 'yes' either. Genevieve knows Jack loves her (and treats her as an equal). After the hell Collin put her through, Gen feels she deserves a normal marriage. Reminded of her 'background', Gen reminds 'dear heart' that they come from the same dysfunctional family. Realizing he's being protective, Cane DOES give his blessing - and wishes his mother a trauma-free marriage.

Jack wishes Sharon would tell Adam to go to hell. Nick tells Jack about his ultimatum (no more contact with Adam or she loses Faith). She agreed but is pissed off. The supportive Jack advises Nick not to expect Sharon to 'screw it up again'. Nick hopes Sharon can stay strong.

Now in the living room, Adam's tie hangs around his neck. Both acknowledge horrible mistakes - but some they had no control over (Adam adds). Both wish .... We can't be together, Sharon sniffles. Listing a few regrets, she has none about last night. Adam's not ready to say 'good bye' (and neither's Sharon - if her sobbing in his arms is any indication).

On the CL's patio, Neil impresses Sofia. Their New Years (and first official date) will be at the Colonnade Room. She looks nervous though - when Cane bursts in - with a favour to ask.

When Devon grumbles about Kay manipulating him, Harmony defends her new friend (listing the kind things she's done - and reminding that she's over 80). Tucker arrives - a 'coincidence' (not a 'gang up'). Devon appreciates his praise over the new 'single' - but needs to take off (leaving Harmony and Tucker to comment on the world's fastest exit).

The honeymooners are surprised to bump into the couple who's wedding they crashed last year. Briefly explaining how they got hitched and unhitched (a long story), the Abbott's are surprised to see that they have a baby - how wonderful!

Nick calls Amy - he's postponing going to the office - so he can personally deliver Faith to her anxious mother. Get his angel dressed (and Nick will come pick her up).

This has to be good bye - please tell me you understand, Sharon pulls away. Adam won't cause any trouble - you're free. I will always love you, he chokes out. It's OK - I know - I know. The lovers share one last lingering embrace.

As Neil's about to decline Cane's last minute request (to surprise Lily), Sofia interrupts to say they'll babysit. Yes, she's sure - she wants this for both Lily and Cane. Thanking them, he leaves Neil to smile at Sofia's kindness.

When Genevieve shares that she feels a distance between her and Ethan still, Jack assures he'll come around. When he does, it'll be a new beginning for mother and son. Genevieve is SO looking forward to a new beginning with Jack.

Back at the studio, Tucker realizes he hasn't been very welcoming since Harmony came back to town - and would like to put it behind them. Stop frontin' - Harmony knows he's making nice because Devon's warming up to her (but is OK with it because she also wants the three of them to get along)

Meanwhile, Kay's surprised and delighted when Devon stops by.

When are the Abbott's gonna start making babies? Well, they each have a child already - but who knows. After the other couple leaves, Vikki and Billy are both subdued.

Nick! Sharon's surprised. Hi Mommy, Faith bleats, Proceeding inside, Faith obediently hugs her Mom (who tears up - I missed you so much).

Neil thinks it was a pretty amazing thing Sofia just did. Raincheck, they agree. Now let's go tell Moses he'll be hosting his first new years eve bash. Neil gives Sofia a kiss - happy new year.

Harmony and Tucker reminisce about a night at the Roxy in 87 - hanging out. One stupid girl got drunk - and naked. 'Mick' covered her with his coat. He was a player back then. Crazy times. Who knew they'd share a kid. Harmony thinks Tucker a hypocrite - reaching out to his son while shutting out his mother. How's Devon supposed to learn how to let go of anger - when Tucker refuses to let go of his?

Devon thanks Kay for bringing Anna for a visit (relaying his mother's opinion that he shoulda thanked her sooner). Kay feels they have a long way to go - if Devon needs to be convinced to thank her for a gesture of good will. Yeah - well - Devon has somewhere to be tonight - but hopes Kay has a good night.

Why did Genevieve ask Jack to meet her there - since they're coming to G-worm tonight? Because she wanted to reserve their table - order Jack's favourite dessert. He finds her taking charge 'sexy' (then relays his run in with Nick). Gen concludes that Nick won't sell him BofN - Adam might - then leads the toast; May 2012 be the year we both get what we want.

While a lonely Adam arrives with take out dinner to eat at his desk, Sharon's not so subtle in her hint that Nick leave. The restraining order = alone time with Faith (or is he changing the rules again?) Knowing she resents him being a 'hard ass' (about Adam), Nick believes her getting the restraining order so quickly means Sharon's taking it seriously. Nothing is more important to me than my children, Sharon vows.

Billy knows that seeing the couple with their baby was hard for Vikki (who realizes she can't freak out every time she sees a baby). But let's not dwell on that - she's just happy Billy's her husband ~kiss~ Vikki then gets an exciting call - what!? Are you kidding me!? Billy has no clue what the good news could be.

Jack's brought a bottle of bubbly - to celebrate Adam's win. Laying it on a bit thick, Adam sneers at the praise - immediately guessing Jack wants BofN. It'd be good for Newman, Jack says. Leaving, he boasts about spending a big night with his fiance. <sarcasm> Shame Adam will be drinking his champagne all alone.</sarcasm>

As Faith colours, Nick and Sharon agree it'd be best for the kids if they could be friends - start the new year on a clean slate. After Nick leaves, Sharon tells Faith that she'd do anything for her (and is rewarded with a hug). But over Faith's shoulder, resentment is written all over her face.

At CL's with Roxy, Devon updates (and gets a pep talk - at least he's conversing, not fighting with his family). It's progress, Devon agrees. Spending new years with Roxy makes his heart race. Oh how perfect they are together ~kiss~

What are you doing here? Kay's told that Tucker followed Harmony home. He's just there to wish Kay a happy new year - and wants next year to be better than this one was. Couldn't be much worse, Kay quips - then, as Tucker leaves, wishes him a happy new year. The two ladies now alone, Kay updates on Devon's visit (which she's VERY grateful to Harmony for).

Lily's surprised when Neil and Sofia (with Moses) come over to share the new plan. Cane?! All 'insist' that Lily go out with Cane tonight. I'd love to, Lily needs no convincing.

Hanging up, Vikki gasps that they finally got a hit - on their adoption profile (created over a year ago). A birth mother is interested in US. Isn't that the best news!? Vikki rushes to pack. Billy will book a flight. But as he hugs his ecstatic wife, Billy's not nearly as enthused as the missus.

Next: All dressed up, Nikki strokes Deacon's cheek - tonight could change everything for us .... At G-worm, champagne in hand, Gloria announces that Jack Abbott and Genevieve Atkinson just got engaged. Outside, Patty mutters and paces - OK, Patty - how do we stop this? ... Open it, Victor encourages. Velvet box in hand, Sharon does so - to reveal a very large engagement ring.

My Thoughts: Ironic - Jack knows that Sharon's burned Nick in the past. SHARON'S burned him? Jack had sex with Nick's wife - on Nick's sofa! .... Yes - let's hope Sharon stays 'strong'. The woman's never met a penis she didn't like. She goes weak in the knees when in close proximity to one. If Adam showed some remorse to Nick - apologized half as much (and with half the sincerity) as he does to Sharon, perhaps Nick wouldn't be so ADAMant. Faith is HIS child too! If Sharon WERE 'strong' - she'd have rewritten the restraining order - to protect only Faith (leaving her free and clear to canoodle with her baby's kidnapper - on her OWN time) .... Genevieve seems surprised - I thought you liked Jack. Does Cane even KNOW Jack? Yes Genevieve - I'm sure you and Jack will have a 'normal' - trauma free marriage .... Horrible year, Vikki moans (like she hasn't had a crisis EVERY year of her adult life; the coma - divorces - deaths - losing Ryan, Reed etc etc. I don't think she's ever had a GOOD year. 2012 will be no exception - judging by Billy's reaction to her baby news) .... What was the rush in posting Angie's 'single' online? Why wouldn't Devon wait the extra day - and upload the 'polished' version (instead of the half-assed version)? The song IS either catchy or grossly overplayed (cause even I caught myself humming it) ... If Roxy's so damn perfect, why hasn't Devon proposed to her yet? Their relationship's lasted longer than most who're already engaged of married ... Was Neil impressed by Sofia's sacrifice? Or was he just relieved that he didn't have to take her out? Who knew the Colonnade Room was still open. If the menu's so fantastic, why don't more people dine there? Poor Jacques - his first patons in years - cancel last minute on new years eve (if Neil even bother to call and cancel) ..... Note that the laundry Roxy and Lily are folding - is already pre folded! My kids sleepers from the dryer used to come out all static-clinged together - with socks and Bounce sheets stuck to em. Lily's look like they've just been ironed! ... Kay's gotta pick up her own cheesecake? The billionaire doesn't have staff to run around and do errands for her on new years eve day? .... Why on earth would Tucker 'look forward' to spending an evening alone? Isn't that what he's been doing for a few days now (since Ashley left for New York)? ... Neil's gotta be honest with Harmony - Sofia 'wasn't too happy' when he took off after the ceremony. Gee Neil - ya think? .... Could be my imagination - but Adam's expression (during his last hug with Sharon) seemed to have a hint of evil determination to it (as opposed to naked devastation; as Sharon conveyed). I dunno - MM's such a fabulous actor - I thought I caught a hard glint to his eye (could mean he's up to something - or he's furious with Nick for issuing this ultimatum).
