No improvement, Adam's handed some dark shades. Sharon grasps at straws - but all the specialists consulted agree - Adam's blind. No - he has no one to help him at home. Well, he won't be able to manage things on his own - make arrangements. He won't be alone, Sharon assures.
Mom!? What are you doing here? How did you find me? Look at you Chelsea, Anita scolds - who's the father? That'd be me, Billy admits (and is told he best be planning a wedding).
No time to wait on the SEC, Victor orders Mike to make the BofN sale invalid. He'll huff and he'll puff - and throw up so many roadblocks, Genevieve will be happy to sell it back to him.
Genevieve's surprised to find her Jabot office full. Sending the guards out, Ashley rants about her buying a major competitor. With great pleasure - you're fired. No need - I quit, Genevieve hands over her letter of resignation.
The proactive Jack's already called about the experimental treatment Phyllis shows him on her tablet. She loves how determined he is - and when a reporter barges in firing questions, quickly shoves him back out. And now Phyllis is off to deal with Ricky Williams.
At CL's, Ricky ignores repeated calls from his Dad - and is typing away when Avery comes along to hear all about his 'controversial' story (which she's impressed to hear has gone viral).
Nikki arrives at G-worm - to give Victor and Mike the good news. The charges against her have been dropped. It's finally over, Victor offers a hug.
Oh when will it sink in? Woe is me Adam will never see again. Sharon remains optimistic - even if he never regains his eyesight, he can still be productive - like Hope. She asks the cranky Adam to come to Kansas. If not, what DOES he want? Adam wants to see again - can Sharon do THAT?
Mentioning that they've been at odds lately, Victor hopes to start fresh - starting with dinner at the ranch. More interested in calling Vikki, Nikki's pressed for an answer; dinner would be nice. Telling Victor that he's off to the courthouse, Mike will be in touch. Nikki returns from calling Vikki (for whom she had to leave a message)
Vikki and Jill explain why Billy won't be walking down any aisle with Chelsea - he's already married - THAT's why not! Introductions made, Anita wonders what kinda kinky thing is going on here? And how will she tell her missionary husband - and their pastor? And when Billy announces his plans to raise the baby, Anita balks - and toss my daughter away? Jill informs 'Mrs Too Little And Way Too Damn Late' - your daughter tricked my son!
Fired - quit - whatever - security will supervise Genevieve's exit. She was just leaving, Ashley tells Traci - who's had anything Gen left at Jack's sent back to her place. Genevieve never meant any of this to happen. It was merely a business deal. Jack's sisters aren't buyin' it (or that she loves Jack). She shoulda done the background check (on Merna) that Jack suggested. Gen thought she knew Merna. Yeah - kinda like Jack thought he knew HER.
Getting through security to see Jack, Nikki's told that reporters are being kept out (due to Ricky's story). Dammit - Nikki thought she convinced him not to do it. Poor Paul - what's the matter with that kid?
Avery's impressed - with Ricky's background material on Patty. He's a bit alarmed that this psychosis runs in his bloodline. Phyllis marches in - I said NO to that article. No - she said no to RS. No crime in taking it to another publisher- right counselor? Avery supports Ricky fully. Not owing Phyllis any explanations, a nervous Ricky packs up in a hurry when Paul arrives at CL's.
Sharon understands that Adam's not mad at her (she'd be snapping too). She's taking him home with her. Dad'd love that, Adam mopes. Speaking of the devil - spotting Victor outside, Sharon leaves Adam with the nurse - to update Victor (on Adam's condition - and her plans to take him home). And why should she change Adam's mind (about going to Kansas)? Because he doesn't want Adam at the ranch.
Anita's ever so stunned to hear how Chelsea framed Billy (complete with his stint in a foreign prison). She appreciates the explanation - and is sorry for her assumptions. Chelsea's done enough to this family - she's taking her home. No! That's not necessary, Billy assures.
When Paul marches over to accuse Phyllis, she reports turning Ricky's 'filth' down. As Paul follows his son to the patio, Avery snarls at Phyllis the hypocrite. She knows where to cross the line? Oh like when she wrote about Daisy - to lure her back to town?
On the patio, Paul scolds Ricky - for making his Aunt out to be a monster. Ricky was reporting NEWS - Paul's the fierce protector of crazy Patty - but did he ONCE look out for his mother; crazy Isabella!? Well - that certainly shuts Paul up.
From his room, Adam overhears Sharon and Victor butting heads. Victor will NOT talk to Adam (who belongs in Kansas). And when she rejoins him, Adam orders Sharon to never beg his father (to see him).
Nikki's so sorry for Kyle and Jack (who knows it was self defense). As neither can 'go back', 'what ifs are pointless - we must look forward. Jack appreciates Nikki sticking by him. Always, she leaves with a quick kiss. And as Jack tries to coax his legs into action, Victor saunters in.
At least he asked about you, Sharon tries to look on the bright side. Adam reflects on when he first came to town - he wasn't this way when with his mother. He only became ruthless when with his father. Hope was right to be afraid (that Victor would destroy him).
Victor talks about getting on with their lives - but he's not there about Nikki - or to gloat. He's ecstatic not that Patty didn't kill Jack - but that he lost BofN to his fiance. There's the Victor Jack knows - reveling in his romantic and corporate misfortunes. Victor gives two reasons Genevieve won't keep BofN; It's his - and Jack wants it. Victor WANTS Jack to walk - and bring your best game. It'll be entertaining to watch him lose.
Back at Jabot, Genevieve now regrets the way she handled the business deal - but she was a victim of Patty too. How? What did she do to YOU? She used me - to hurt Jack. No - Genevieve hurt Jack all on her own. The Abbott's aren't impressed with Genevieve's prayers for Jack - leave him alone! Ashley then summons the guards - to get rid of Mrs Atkinson and her things.
Taking partial blame, Billy doesn't want to rehash Myanmar. Vikki agrees - all that matters is the baby boy. God bless you (for moving Chelsea in). Anita doesn't know where they went wrong with Chelsea - the devil must have gotten into her. Vikki agrees - she needs her Mama. Despite Jill's protest, the Abbott's convince Anita to move in too. Mother and daughter then leave Jill to go on record - she doesn't trust that conniving, scheming loser (not Chelsea, her mother).
Paul and Ricky have it out - about Isabella (who Paul denies he 'abandoned' - it was best for HER that he didn't visit). And why did Ricky endanger himself? Denying he was in danger, Ricky knows all about crazy - he's seen it - in his own mother!
Inside, Phyllis strikes back - let's talk about Avery's actions in court - destroying people on the stand. Stop the holier than thou. Phyllis knows, that like HER, Avery will do whatever it takes to get the job done.
Mother and daughter 'all settled in', Billy rejoins Vikki and Jill (who warns them not to trust Anita). The Abbott's DON'T trust either one - they're just keepin' em close to keep an eye on the baby.
What. The. Hell. Are you doing here Mom? And what was all that about Dad being in Africa? Anita got here just in time - Chelsea's phone calls indicated she was 'going soft'. Anita's not impressed with the dinky apartment - this'll never do!
The staff sent home, Victor suggests a private celebration. Alas, Nikki is indeed still thinking about Kyle (motherless thanks to her). Victor lists all Nikki has to be grateful for. Putting Victor's help at the top of that list, Nikki rewards him with a hug.
Paul got over what Ricky did to Heather. Why bring it up? Because he keeps 'doing it' (profiting off his family's misery). Family!? Ricky scoffs - he barely saw his father - just met his sister - had to introduce himself to his Uncle and Aunt. You have NEVER been my family, Ricky says before storming out.
Anita marvels at her own cleverness - watch and learn (how a good con is done). You've got the billion dollar baby percolating. Yes - they ARE that rich - we're in the money. Chelsea doesn't look nearly as thrilled as Mama.
Meanwhile, Billy tells Vikki that he left a message for Paul (who he's sure will find out everything there is to know about Anita Lawson)
You have no right criticizing me, Phyllis scoffs at Avery protecting her former intern (while Avery scoffs at her loyalty to Jack - not her OWN family). Jack's done more for Phyllis than ANY member of her family. On cue, Avery gets a call from Mom - then updates that their father had a heart attack - Mom's a mess. Leaving on the next flight, Avery suggests Phyllis come too. No - but Phyllis is left looking worried.
Jack reports Victor's visit (to Ashley and Traci) - and approves them firing Genevieve - and having her things removed from the house. He'd have done the same thing.
At G-worm, Jill takes the bar stool beside Genevieve - to gloat about her being fired. Genevieve quit (as she now owns BofN). Mike comes along - don't be so sure - Victor's challenging the sale (much to Jill's delight).
Adam's changed his mind - let's go to my Mom's farm (getting out of town is a good idea).
Despite their differences, Victor knows they love one another. And even though things never go smoothly for long, Nikki agrees to move back in ~kiss~
Next: So why DID you ask me here? Neil asks. I'd like to offer you a job, Genevieve replies .... In the background, Jill's delighted - when Gloria slaps Jeff across the face. Son of a bitch! .... I want you to kill Fisher, Angelo's on the phone. The guy pointing the gun clicks the safety off - causing Kevin and Angie to look scared.
My Thoughts: Thanks for the reminder Jill - that Billy, lame publisher that he is, completely ignored a big story (corrupt authorites etc. involved in framing tourists in Myanmar) ... Avery's really impressed that Ricky's article includes background on Patty's 'illness and past crimes'? Yeah - way to Google your Aunt Ricky! ... What's got you looking so happy? Victor really had no inkling that the charges against Nikki might be dropped? And what's Mike so happy about? He's just lost huge bucks (that he'd earn from representing Nikki) ... Wow - Jack's garnered attention from 'The World Inquisitor'? I wasn't aware GC residents cared - never mind the 'world'. Nice that Jack's forgiven Nikki - but has Kyle? You'd think the kid could skip a few hockey practices. After just losing his mother, you'd think he'd want to see the father who just took a bullet. Kyle was briefly an orphan - and still would be if John hadn't sent Jack paddling home .... Odd that Jack doesn't mention Kyle when wondering why his Dad sent him back ... And why is everyone throwing around the politically incorrect word 'crazy'? ... LOL @ the way the security guards are standing around - waiting for the order to remove Genevieve's boxes (when she enters her office) .... Dr Doom sure is a pessimist. Why wouldn't Adam be able to 'handle things on his own'? He WAS declared legally blind at one time - and still managed to wreak havoc all over the ranch - and drive a car even. In fact, Adam's very good at being blind (and he's already got that Braille laptop Victor bought him) ... What would Sharon know about being an 'independent' person? And 'sometimes going back to the place you grew up can have a healing effect'? Of all the times SHE'S needed healing, has she ever gone back to that place? .... Has Sharon completely forgotten the restraining order against Adam? He's not supposed to be anywhere near her - yet she's been perched on his bed for days - seemingly unconcerned about how it might effect the shared custody she just won. You'd think she'd at least consult with her lawyer - or try to reason with Nick (who also doesn't seem as worried as he once was). One day, Faith will grow up to read about her mother's continued connection to Adam. I wonder if SHE'LL understand .... Some fans may recognize Anita as Catherine Bach; best known as Daisy Duke on the Dukes of Hazard (late 70's early 80's) |
