Still in Japan, Genevieve finds Victor in his usual spot. Over tea, it's established that both slept like babies - last night was 'unexpected' - and definitely not 'disappointing'. It's hard to tell (with Victor) the difference between business and pleasure.
Calling Ashley from the restaurant, Jill tattles that Genevieve and Victor are together in Japan. The Mitsukushi account is NOT what he's after. Are they teaming up? Yeah - you could say that, Jill smirks. Ashley made contact with a major Mitsukushi stock holder - who's willing to listen to their exclusivity pitch. And look, Cane's in Japan - to tell Jill all about it.
At Jack's, Nikki distracted. Victor still hasn't responded to her text (nor did he come home last night). Jack heaps nice adjectives on Nikki - oh, why does she let that jerk her hurt her over and over? Deciding to go out to dinner, Jack gets a text from Ashley (reporting that Victor's in Japan - with Genevieve). Wasting no time dropping the bomb on Nikki, Jack asks to be driven to Jabot (where Ashley wants to strategize).
Joined by Daisy, Ricky boasts that HIS family hates him more than his crazy aunt (who shot a guy - twice). He was born to the wrong Mom - legit - but she has emotional issues. Join the club, Daisy claims she's been blamed for a lot of stuff not her fault. Ricky knows all about his famous neighbour. Hearing his boss is Phyllis, Daisy marches off - we're done!
Lauren and Phyllis speechless (for once), Mike presses for answers. Distracted (by Phyllis) just long enough for Lauren to hide the gun, Mike still wants an answer to his question.
Locking the drawer, Lauren tells Mike that she won't be OK with Daisy so close. He wants to make her feel safe - but can't. Her apology accepted, Phyllis can't lose the Baldwin's again - is there anything she can do to make this right?
Nikki claims business is why Victor followed Genevieve to Paris - then Japan. This is his MO - he always takes off with another woman, Jack points out. Off to Jabot they go.
Back in Japan, Genevieve realizes Vikki was right - Victor never meant to help her secure the Mitsogushi contract. At a stalemate (re: BofN), further negotiations will have to wait. Victor's heading to the airport (and back to GC) - leaving Genevieve to pout at the briefcase he left behind.
In the hotel restaurant, Cane fills Jill in on their stockholder connection (who's being convinced to go with Jabot). Jill's impressed - even Tucker and Ashley weren't able to get a foot in the door. The meeting set for today, Jill would love to come along and see Cane in action. She disagrees that Genevieve wasted her trip - all depends on what she's after. Are we all after the same thing? Victor appears to sneer down at them.
Wheeling himself into the office, Jack's all business - and encourages Ashley to speak freely in front of Nikki - you can trust her. OK, Ashley reports that Cane and Jill have a meeting (though Jack doesn't recognize the name). Whatever Genevieve and Victor are up to, Jack knows it can't be good.
Jill and Cane point out that NE doesn't have horse in this race (so he must have money on another horse; Genevieve's). Victor claims they give him far too much credit - BofN is in the hands of it's new owner.
Back in the room, Genevieve rifles through Victor's briefcase - and comes across a business card (for Kaito Yoshida; the stockholder. On the back is written, 'Mitsukushi deal').
Ricky follows Daisy - to distance himself from Phyllis - he puts up with Phyllis for the job (only until he gets what he needs). You can't trust her for a minute, Daisy warns.
Lauren and Phyllis exchange sketchy looks - and more apologies. Now all are on the same team (Lucy's). And as they leave with Mike, the desk drawer (containing the gun) remains ajar.
When Victor makes arrangements to get to the airport, Jill comments - it's too bad he didn't bring Nikki (to mix business with pleasure). Ignoring the barb, Victor bids them good luck - you'll need it. Told ya he's up to something, Jill crows - and decides to head back to GC too.
Victor rejoins Genevieve - he has business in GC - and hers is here. He's enjoyed her company (but no, had no intention of helping her with BofN). I won't need luck, Genevieve assures (as Victor leaves smiling).
At the GCAC, Mike wonders why Lauren didn't tell him she ran into Daisy. Lauren's just fine - except for Fen. Lean on me, Mike encourages. But Lauren needs to know she can do this herself (and declines staying at the club for the night). If we run, Daisy wins - Lauren wants to beat her one battle at a time. Let's go home.
As she arrives at CL's, Phyllis is still the topic of conversation between Daisy and Ricky (who thanks her for the warning). After Daisy exits, Phyllis wastes no time asking what Ricky could possibly have to talk to Daisy about. Weather - basketball - being neighbours, he's flip.
Cane asks the waitress to send over Mr Yoshida when he arrives. Genevieve saunters over - hello Ethan. After some tense small talk, Genevieve announces that she has a meeting to prepare for too. May the best Atkinson win. Cane's already won - he has Lily, the twins - and works for a lady he respects. Alas, Genevieve thought she might be that lady - but we Atkinson's don't do 'happy endings'. Sorry that Cane's going to lose this deal for Jabot, Genevieve walks off to arrange her own meeting with Mr Yoshida. Summoning him to the tea house immediately, she gives Cane a sad look (oblivious, he busies himself with paperwork)
Ashley's surprised when Nikki confirms that Victor's been working 'non stop' against Genevieve (since he was released from prison). Pecking away on the laptop, Jack wonders what they're doing together - in Japan. Jill got the impression they're 'teaming up', Ashley chimes in. Believing that Victor would rather see Jabot win (over BofN), Nikki can't believe he'd destroy the company he and Vikki built. I knew it! Jack blurts out - Yoshida is NOT a Mitsukushi stock holder - he works for the US government - he's a plant! Cane's been set up!
And as Jack views Yoshida's photo online - Yoshida arrives at the tea house (to watch Cane furiously juggle his paperwork).
Spotting Yoshidu, Cane stands - but is interrupted by a heads-up call from Jack (he's a government agent likely looking to see if bribery's involved - don't meet with him!). Sitting back down, Cane vows not to do anything underhanded. Jack warns him to step away - he's looking for the slightest hint of impropriety. It won't be me, Cane watches Genevieve approach Yoshidu. We'll find another way to get to the Mitsukushi brass, Jack orders Cane back to his room. On cue, Nikki gets a call from Victor - and as she steps out, Ashley wishes she could make Genevieve pay (for what she did to Jack). Jill calls to say there's more than business going on between Victor and Genevieve. And before Ashley can warn Jack, the photo Jill took pops up on the monitor (of Genevieve caressing Victor's cheek).
The elevator doors about to close on the kissing Baldwin's, Daisy steps on (to ignore their death stares).
Riding up in silence, Daisy exits the elevator with a smug smirk - leaving Lauren to change her mind; let's get a room at the club ~hug~
Ricky's not doing anything with Daisy - he's her neighbour. Keep it that way, Phyllis warns. Knowing he's still miffed (at getting no credit for the Patty story), she instructs him to get some dirt on Daisy (for which he'll get a bi-line - maybe even a cover story). Agreeing, Ricky claims his loyalty is to his boss.
At the bar, so he can hear better, Cane listens - as Genevieve and Yoshidu charm one another. Following him to a private room she's reserved, Genevieve pauses to give Cane a triumphant smirk.
As Jack assures Ashley that he's fine (with the photo), Nikki's in the hallway (asking Victor where he was last night). He's out of the country - but looks forward to meeting her at the ranch. Both want to straighten things out. Nikki returns to ask what Jack and Ashley are hiding from her - then is then horrified by the photo of Genevieve and Victor.
Next: I rushed into it Daddy - I wasn't ready - it was a mistake, Angie simpers to Angelo .... Lily's on the phone with Cane - Genevieve wouldn't resort to bribery would she? My mother would do anything to win, Cane replies ... Genevieve tells Mr Yoshidu that BofN is the only cosmetics line for Mitsukushi.
My Thoughts: The elevator doors in the Baldwin's building sure could use some WD40 ... Of course Ashley and Tucker didn't get anywhere with Mitsukushi a year ago - they were too busy having sex ... So, Nikki was waiting up for Victor all night - while he was canoodling with Genevieve (thankfully offscreen). Surely, THIS will be the last straw (and she'll finally give up on the tarnished romance) ... How on earth did Jill get a head on angle of Genevieve and Victor - when she was spying from the rear? ... Oh yeah Daisy - Phyllis is the one who can't be trusted 'for a minute' - Phyllis is the one who's Evil with a capital E .. Nice that Lauren understands Phyllis was only trying to protect her family (at the risk of Lauren's).
Cost of my flight to Texas (April 24th) is almost covered (and anything earmarked specifically towards medical bills has been transfered accordingly).
