At CL's, Kay's all in a dither - Kevin going to Delia's recital (and out for ice cream) will just confuse the poor kid. Mike confirms that yes, Kevin IS still married to that little gum snapper. Arriving with Daniel, Chloe's laughter comes to an abrupt halt - as, behind the counter, Kevin looks most pissed off.
Waiting for his take out, Tucker updates Glo and Angelo. He's working on Angie's next song with Devon - it'll be an even bigger hit. After Jeff's sent to inventory the linens, Angelo hopes Glo's misreading things - it WOULD be a real shame if the kid's marriage didn't work out.
Angie rewrites her song - pouting to Vic (the dog) she and Kevin won't have a happy ending.
At the ranch, Victor's vague about Japan - and the old friends he ran into. Avoiding Nikki's questions, he goes for coffee - leaving her to mope over the photo on her phone.
Funny - Devon likes mayo with his fries too. He's about to send the musicians home for the day when Angie finally returns (with her tweaked lyrics). Tucker and Devon approve; beautiful, powerful lyrics - let's go country. Refusing to comment on whether it's a break up song, Angie will have no problem pouring her heart into it.
Back at CL's, Kevin scolds Chloe for flaunting her relationship with Daniel in his coffee shop. You said you were going home - to your wife, Chloe snaps back.
Admitting he ran into Genevieve, Victor complains that she always tries to one-up him. But this time he got what he wanted (which makes Nikki look ill).
Daniel drags Kevin over to Chloe - insisting his two friends work it out (while Kay drives him to the estate). The insults flying, Kevin's parting shot is that has no idea how NOT 'self-centered' he is). Huh? What does THAT mean? Mike pounces.
After Angie warbles her revised ballad - Good Good Bye (all about letting go and moving on) - Tucker tells Devon that she nailed it - first take. But as he praises Angie, she runs out (not wanting to hear a play back).
Decking G-worm out for a wedding, an unhappy Jeff's forced to stand by and watch Gloria and Angelo gush over one another (with hints that a proposal's afoot).
Are you having an affair with Genevieve? What! Victor merely wants the company back (that she stole). Reminding Victor that he'd never lie to her again, Nikki shows him the photo on her phone - is THIS how you got what you wanted out of her? Where'd you get that? Victor continues to duck questions.
The interrogation continuing, Victor believes someone's trying to cause problems between him and Nikki - perhaps Genevieve - or Jill. Nikki explains that she just so happened to be at Jabot when Jill send 'proof of his collusion'. OK, so maybe Victor WAS flirting - but insists he went to his hotel room ALONE.
No need for Devon to pay for his dinner - next time it'll be steaks on HIM. Both 'feel' for Angie (who loves Kevin a lot). But - it makes for one great song.
Summoning her Daddy, Angie cries that she's not cut out for all this wifey stuff - she's ending the marriage. Kevin never loved me! she finally admits. He's a dead man! Angelo leaps into action.
Meanwhile, Mike badgers Kevin - what's going on? WHY marry Angie? Kevin HAD to. No - Angie's not pregnant - but it IS how this whole thing started, he seems ready to talk.
Ending a call, Gloria updates Jeff - the wedding's off (the bride ran off with the maid of honour). But what would Jeff know about being bailed on by someone you thought you knew, she huffs.
Angie confesses her plan to make Kevin love her. SHE'S the one who took 'advantage' of Kevin (a terrific guy - who screwed up his life to protect everyone from fake danger). No - she can't 'wear him down' (the way Angelo did Gloria). Finally accepting, Angelo advises that when you find true love, you hold onto it with everything you've got ~hug~
It's all a lie, Kevin tells Mike that he never touched Angie. Next? Mike will find a way out of this.
Tucker visits Kay - to update that he's making progress with Devon (music being the common ground). Kay thinks that wonderful - music was his father's passion too. Tucker concludes that he's passed both music and business on to HIS son.
Victor assures that his 'games' with Genevieve won't hurt Vikki (and that he has no interest in Genevieve). No way would Victor throw away what he and Nikki have reestablished.
Kay thanks Tucker for the update on Devon - and for what it's worth, she's pleased for both of them. Awkward silence is followed by a 'good night Mom' - and a 'drive carefully son'.
Returning to G-worm, Angelo sees no reason that all the decorations should go to waste. It's fate! WE should get married - tonight! What!? Jeff almost chokes on his cake. Angelo on bended knee, Gloria accepts. She's to get all dolled up - Angelo will 'take care of the rest'. Horrified, Jeff has a flashback of Angelo saying those exact same words (as he forces Jeff to write Gloria a note). You son of a .... Gloria will never marry you .... you kidnapped me - left me on that island - YOU took the money! Easily catching Jeff's attempt at a punch, Angelo forces him to his knees.
At the mausoleum, Chloe denies she's 'feeding the fire' - swearing she didn't know Kevin would be at CL's tonight. But yes - she needs to let go - he's a married man now.
Kevin doesn't want Angie hurt or embarrassed any more than necessary. Underneath all that hair spray there's a really nice person - it just takes a while to shine through (like her singing). And when Angie arrives, Mike leaves Kevin to approach her. Everything's cool - it's over - you're free, she forces a smile.
Now late evening, Devon returns to find Tucker implementing his new ideas (and having a blast). He's really missed being in the studio - in fact, he's missed a lot. Neither can wait for Devon to actually hear the song.
Checking the windows, Kevin's a tad nervous - he trusts Angie, but his kneecaps have a mind of their own. No, he's not moving out tonight - unless she wants him gone. No - she doesn't wanna be there alone - but if he's anxious to get back to Chloe. That won't happen, Kevin looks sad.
Meanwhile, Kay finds Chloe moping. Declining ice cream, she just wants to pretend she never knew Kevin. Gloria calls to announce she and Angelo are getting married - she needs someone to stand up for her.
Angie gets a similar call - Daddy, have you lost your mind? We've gotta go to G-worm, she tells Kevin.
At G-worm, Angelo tells Gloria to go get beautiful - tonight will be perfect, he made sure of it. Outside, in a dumpster in the alley, Jeff's gagged, tied up and struggling.
Phone still in hand, Nikki believes Victor. Thank you, Victor gives her a hug - and agrees to turn in early. Mr Yoshidu calls Victor to report that Mrs Atkinson never directly offered a bribe - her son interrupted. Ending the call, Victor assures Nikki that all's fine - now that he's here ~hug~
Next: Is Jeffrey on the guest list? Jill wipes the smiles off Angelo and Gloria's faces ... Still in the dumpster, Jeffrey shouts - Gloria - don't do it - don't marry Angelo! ... Are you sure you're ready to do this? Daniel asks. I am, Angie assures.
My Thoughts: Why does Victor think he deserves an answer to HIS question (when he's evaded several of Nikki's) ... Security cameras in the alley behind G-worm sure would save a lot of trouble. None of the staff (like the bartender) noticed the altercation between Angelo and Jeff (and him hauling Jeff out to the alley - and throwing him in the dumpster)? You'd think Jeff would make quite a ruckus (before being gagged that is). Angelo sure didn't mind 'everyone' hearing that Glo accepted his proposal (You hear that everybody? he bellows to no one in particular) Did Angelo really need to propose right in front of Gloria's ex husband? ..... Odd that Gloria called Chloe - before either of her sons? Doesn't she want one of em to give her away? And why didn't she ask Lauren, her daughter in law, to be her matron of honour? ... The bride ran off with the maid of honour? There's lesbians in GC? Who knew? .... Victor once again 'lied to Nikki's face' (clearly his 'games' re: Genevieve WILL hurt Vikki; as she's in charge of BofN). But - at this point, both Nikki and Genevieve deserve whatever they get. But if Victor didn't sleep with Genevieve, what aspect of their time together was 'unexpected' and so wonderful?) ... Spoilers indicate there's to be a double wedding - but will Gloria be marrying Angelo or Jeffrey? And who will be the second couple to say I do? ... Where are all these 'musicians' hiding? (the ones Devon thought about sending home?) Why'd he pay to keep them around - if they weren't needed when Angie recorded her song (which didn't sound 'country' - and was a lot more than 'tweaked'). |
